How well do these 4k60fps cameras pan? I would like to use 60fps on 65" 4k screen for less jitter/strobe on pans but I suspect the camera software will blur the detail on pans, which would normally be within the 4k pixel detail pan range, to minimise the data rate required for UHS i cards vs UHS ii cards. One sure way would be to perform a motorised pan, repeated exactly at both 30fps and 60fps and check the file sizes. If the 60fps is a lot less than 2x the 30fps, then a lot of data is being binned by the former over the latter.

It looks like it still suffers from the same problem that all of these handheld gimbals do: the vertical bouncy motion when you walk. I don't understand why so many manufactures don't just add a normal mic 3.5mm plug. I run most of my cameras on an ebike, so I have powered USB ports for each camera, then I run a mini boom mic. The Sony Fdr x3000 has been great, apparently I'll just keep using it for video and the dedicated audio, and have the Osmo use the onboard. Too much windnoise without a dead cat, so the onboard Osmo audio wouldn't do too well.
Great video, thanks. One important feature GoPro has that this lacks is built-in GPS. Geotagging video or photos is essential for mapping, asset inspection etc.
With that small sensor wondering about the low light functionality. I just got a Ronin S for my a7iii and wondering how this would compare when doing low light interiors.
It’s really missing out on the AUX adapter that allows you to plug in a wired lapel into the base for inhanced vlog sound quality. How did you get the audio through an H1?

This is a TikTokers dream device 😂 for video that is... Edit: but in all reality guys, this thing is a game changer. It suits good quality and stability. The selling point is that it's packed in a little on-the-go gimbal device. 1080p 60fps is all you need for YT these days. This device is to be strictly used for b-roll and time lapse. Now on-the-go film makers can get some quality and lightweight footage fairly easily! Yey :) ***DON'T USE THIS DEVICE FOR AUDIO RECORDING. WAIT FOR A FUTURE MODEL****

Does it have a mic jack? what if needed to upgrade the sounds? and is the osmo safe when connected to the mobile phone what if accidentally bump into something will it dis-attached?
Question...can this replace something as expensive as a DSLR or mirrorless camera with multiple lenses + a stabilizer/gimbal? This thing is more than half the price of an old camera body with so many capabilities. If your main focus is capturing video, could this osmo pocket be a replacement?
@We talk UAV, video was amazing just to point out one thing with regards to video, when you tend to change the video to 16:9 ratio it usually cuts your face into half which I believe is not good when it comes to editing. Idk if you used black bars for it or the crop.
Minus a good mic and what appears to be pretty bad focusing which I hope they can rectify. Every review that I've seen crop seems to be too much and it has a problem focusing just on the subjects rather than the background
@@marcusnartatez we must all have too cameras by now and we must all know that patches come out for everything??? @@WhatsThisThenLucchiSupremeson yes but adding a mic hurts the portability aspect of it a bit for me. I pre-ordered the camera but there are 4 main issues I have. The field of view is pretty nerrow so for selfie vlog shooting it is very limiting. 2.The focus, even though it does have face track, seems to "breath" in alot in almost every video that I've seen. 3 having the osmo plus which has a better sensor and camera on it, we know this because of the drones that these cameras are attached too, really falls apart in low light and I have a sneaky suspicion is that one of the stipulations Early Access to this camera was not to talk about the low light capability. There are now over dozen reviews on UA-cam and not one mention of lowlights which is usually one of the first things to test. And lastly like I mentioned previously the sound quality is not great and having to put a proper mic on it does hinder its strongest feature, it's size, a bit for me. I think this would be a great b roll camera. But I can't see it replacing it's true vlogging setup
How can you activate the OSMO pocket with a phone without a usb C connector? Aside from the wifi base accessory, is there an adaptor? talked to DJI support, they have no idea if it is possible, and don't know how much the wifi base costs. Any info would be great!
When it’s plugged into the iPhone I see you are often just holding the OSMO. Is there not a risk the phone will fall off the connector, or is there some kind of support?
Can the gimbal follow an object more than 180/360 degrees around the Osmo? Say on a tripod in the middle of the circle made by a car drifting for 3 turns
Why is the sky always blown out? Way too narrow FOV for the motorcycle and waaay to close for the vlogging. Audio sounds horrible! Not a bad gimmicky device, but once you add the phone it's no longer a little device., Why not just get a gimbal for the phone? At least with a phone Gimbal you can upgrade anytime you want. With this, you're stuck with the same camera.
Will the Pro mode settings persist on the camera even after you disconnect the phone? It seems like the auto settings learn toward overexposure. It'd be nice to correct that once and then not have to leave the phone connected to it.
but that's not an action camera. If I want gimbal-stabilized videos, I get osmo mobile 2 at 100$ and use the cellphone. Dimensions of the gimbal only are not that bigger than this one. it makes NO sense. ONLY if the gimbal would be detatchable and to be used as a WG2, then it would be MINIMAL.
smitthone isnt the quality of the camera better than any cell phone ? Can you control the camera wirelessly, like tracking for example , no need for camera man
Definitely going to need that nd filter set for this thing. I can see how easy it'd be to blow out the shot
Hv u tried riding on motorbike above 120Km does the gimbal shake or it is fixed
How about uploading unedited pic and videos shot on osmo... Cheers

For any serious recording you have to use external audit recorder. Every professional does it.
Great video, thanks. One important feature GoPro has that this lacks is built-in GPS. Geotagging video or photos is essential for mapping, asset inspection etc.
Nice tool, but dynamic range looks really bad.
I noticed that that highlights were quite blown. Not sure if it's these guys' preference in editing, or the limitation of the sensor (or profile).
For a finer tune I imagine that you will need to connect your phone and adjust setting in "Pro" mode. Don't think is that of a big deal
Jaroslav Atry needs Nd filter
With that small sensor wondering about the low light functionality. I just got a Ronin S for my a7iii and wondering how this would compare when doing low light interiors.
Can you stream to FB Live with it?...
It’s really missing out on the AUX adapter that allows you to plug in a wired lapel into the base for inhanced vlog sound quality. How did you get the audio through an H1?
Impressive. I am very impressed. Woow
Hi. You think this can be used as a backup camera for shooting weddings? Just for creative shooting?
That thing is so flippin small! Wow soo cool!
we love it
@@WeTalkUAV Yea, that footage looks amazing after the color grade!
@@calebstopa You got one yet? Just ordered mine
@@TECHDRONEMEDIA No, I don't have one yet. I'm saving up some money for the Panasonic GH5 right now. But I an thinking about maybe putting that on hold and getting this little guy 😂😂
On motorbike - would u suggest 4K 60fps?
But you haven't even thrown it against and tree yet
give me one week
lol@@WeTalkUAV
Is it true that it doesn't have 100 or 120 fps slow motion? I'd rather use a gimbal on my GoPro. But for amateurs or for someone who doesn't already own a camera or GoPro seems like a great product.
WAIT FOR A FUTURE MODEL****
if I had to sum up 17 min into a couple of sentences...there you go :)
Machenic gimbal is better than electronic. Gopro is pressed to come up with more innovations. Seriously, from gopro 3 to 7, i haven't seen and game changing innovations. But DJI has been pushing the boundery since Phantom 3. Osmo Pocket is not perfect. But it's definitely more flexible , more innovative.
Does it have a mic jack? what if needed to upgrade the sounds? and is the osmo safe when connected to the mobile phone what if accidentally bump into something will it dis-attached?
"In the old times like back in the 90s " HAHAHAHA hilarious. were action cams even invented back then?
Hopefully a anamorphic filter will come for that format for the osmo pocket?
DJI is a company of China I am very proud for it
Yes... but I will say DJI is more of a global company now...
What kind of camera are you using for this vid.so clear.how much is the dji osmo?
very good review mate..new subs.
thanks
Really great review!!! Have you colorgraded the Pocket footage, or is it without any modification?
I cannot believe they haven't made an audio adapter that gives you professional audio onto the video
They have: it comes as an additional accessory which is much more compact and light than GoPro's humongous block...
Question...can this replace something as expensive as a DSLR or mirrorless camera with multiple lenses + a stabilizer/gimbal? This thing is more than half the price of an old camera body with so many capabilities. If your main focus is capturing video, could this osmo pocket be a replacement?
Replacement of a DSLR or evil? No way. Second option or backup for lightweight shooting? HELL YES!
dji did it again, now I don't have to carry my Canon camera to vlog!
Yes! That's the point! For casual vlog or travel videos it is the perfect tool!
@We talk UAV, video was amazing just to point out one thing with regards to video, when you tend to change the video to 16:9 ratio it usually cuts your face into half which I believe is not good when it comes to editing. Idk if you used black bars for it or the crop.
Huawei Mate 20 Pro + Dji Osmo Pocket

Mate 20 pro camera vs osmo pocket camera which one is better?
@@lousoufl2896 It's time for Mr. Trump to deport all non-whites in USA and ban ALL China products.
So, what about shooting a vertical portrait for example for a Instagram Story? Is this possible?
All our vlog dreams are answered
Minus a good mic and what appears to be pretty bad focusing which I hope they can rectify. Every review that I've seen crop seems to be too much and it has a problem focusing just on the subjects rather than the background
@@marcusnartatez we must all have too cameras by now and we must all know that patches come out for everything??? I think its a must have its everything ive been trying to buy in one and i can put it in my poket that's ridiculous plus 4k?? And i edit on my phone also so its perfect ill only have to walk with this and my drone
@@marcusnartatez oh and u can put an external mic on it soo
@@marcusnartatez ive seen a review of it where they filmed at night and it looked better and they edited the voice ill Send u a link
How can you activate the OSMO pocket with a phone without a usb C connector? Aside from the wifi base accessory, is there an adaptor? talked to DJI support, they have no idea if it is possible, and don't know how much the wifi base costs. Any info would be great!
why don`t you adress the af issues which this product has?
Why did at the end of the video.
When it’s plugged into the iPhone I see you are often just holding the OSMO. Is there not a risk the phone will fall off the connector, or is there some kind of support?
*GO PRO HAS LEFT THE CHAT*
Can the gimbal follow an object more than 180/360 degrees around the Osmo?
Say on a tripod in the middle of the circle made by a car drifting for 3 turns
This can do 4K 60 but my Mavic 2 can’t? What a joke.😤
that's a boom...
Seriously
The didn't wanted to kill the Phantom4 Pro, that is the only reason
does it support to stream live using phones? Thanks for your wonderful review!
With this, you're stuck with the same camera.
you'll never be able to film in windy conditions with a phone gimbal. otherwise, your points are valid
Meh
for wedding shoot, which one you prefer.. OSMO PLUS or OSMO POCKET?
if anyone have money buy me one😞
iam sure no one will read this😔

Go get a job
Hi ! Just want to know if you can zoom with this camera ?
Low dynamic range
it is very contrasted, but the dynamic range wasn't that bad (YT compression isn't good honestly)
Limitations of a small sensor. It does well for the price.
Will the Pro mode settings persist on the camera even after you disconnect the phone? It seems like the auto settings learn toward overexposure. It'd be nice to correct that once and then not have to leave the phone connected to it.
too EXPENSIVE!!
It's $50 cheaper than a GoPro!
but that's not an action camera.
@@smitthone that makes sense too...we will definitely make videos about that
smitthone isnt the quality of the camera better than any cell phone ? Can you control the camera wirelessly, like tracking for example , no need for camera man
Compared to...?
Can you manually set a focus point when using your phone?
