- We're back on the Winn Loop at the DTE Energy Foundation Trails for another adventure. It's the best flow trail in the southern part of Michigan and if you live in this area and haven't ridden it yet, you're missing out. 😉

Rode Winn today - after the Green Loop. There are a few tough climbs but overall fun trail. I actually liked the green trail better but maybe because I was fresher for that one. Fun watching this vid now that I have been there

Finally i have time to go dte first time. So good, worth the drive! I did 3 loops (exclude sugar) and i like winn loop the most

That trail definitely looked like a lot of fun, and appeared very well built! I wish whoever is in charge of planning and building trails in Gwinnett county GA where I live would realize we need trails like that here, instead of the boring totally XC trails we have!
I'm sure they will eventually. SE Michigan was mostly XC without a jump or drop to be seen until just recently. We're in a golden age of mtb. I hope it never ends. 🤙😁
Dude, you live less than 4 hours from Pisgah and a couple really good bike parks. We usually have to drive 4 hours to Blue Mountain, Ontario to get any descent longer than a minute. 😅
@@dukeofmtb ...Well Pisgah doesn't have machine cut flow trails unless you go to DuPont. Pisgah is also notoriously rough, as you found out on your recent trip there. My point is the county in which I live has plenty of money, and they should do a better job of allocating the funds to build worthwhile trails that would draw more residents out to the parks, but they chose not to as they're concerned about liability.
@@bradyessary5668 I don't blame you. That was one of the things that bummed me out when we first started riding. Luckily things have turned around in the past couple years in our area. People are more willing to take some risks. Hope things turn around for you there too. We should have the freedom to take the risk if we want to. If we get hurt riding, so be it. It's part of the fun. 😉
Looks like a good time. I couldn't make it out before the rain this past weekend. If you guys like skinnie's, Burchfield in Lansing used to be famous for them. I haven't been there in a few years to know if they are still there, but it was a lot of fun during the early 00's.

I was at Burchfield last year in the fall of 2019. It is absolutely littered with skinnys ! Its a lot of fun. Only thing is it does get pretty confusing out there. A lot of trails criss cross and go all over the place but its still simply a fun place to ride your mountain bike.

@@terrymtbnurse4760 Absolutely. 99% of the time, I ride from the small Maceday lot. It just feels better to ride it that way. Plus, it's a nice quiet and shaded parking spot.

We were there too. We rode Winn Loop and Sugar Loop. I wouldn't ride more than one loop at a time on your first few trips there. Did you have fun?

Just rode DTE on Sunday. It was so dry it honestly made it kinda difficult. Getting a lot of wheel spin climbing the uphill sections
I feel ya. It's something else when it's dry. 😅 Try doing all the climbs seated maybe? That might give you just enough traction to not spin out.

Maybe it is. Although, I've tried it both ways and I have to say they seem to be about even. They feel like two different trails. I'm gonna have to go back some day and do a clockwise video too to refresh my memory. I imagine if we polled everyone, it would be split 50/50. Hehe

You're probably right. Most of the Filipino riders I've met are from Macomb County. Maybe try to reach out to the "Puntos Bikers" on Facebook. See if they'll meet up with you too. The more, the merrier. 👍
Great video bro. I haven't been to DTE foundation trails yet but your videos makes me want to there now. Im from Sterling Heights so its a bit of a drive. Im new to mountain biking so all of your videos are like my bucket list. Keep up the good work. Maybe we can ride sometimes.

How do you know which days are counter clockwise and which days are clockwise for each loop?
There are signs at the trailheads of each loop with the direction for each day of the week written on them.

What days of the week are counter-clockwise?
I'm not 100% sure, but I think Sat is CCW, Sunday is CW, then Monday is CW again, and then it alternates from there. 😁

What is the best trail for jumps at this trail system
Pretty much all of them except the Green Loop. Sugar Loop probably has the biggest ones. They're hard to clear on an FS unless your boost technique is dialed. ua-cam.com/video/9a7KnCdSLXc/v-deo.html

Yup. You need a recreation passport to park at the lots though.

What's your favorite trails in the area ?
DTE Trails, Pontiac Lake, and Stony are our top 3 go-tos. Then, the West Loop & Tech Loop at Holdridge for a quick fun ride. Torn Shirt Trail is good to mix it up once in a while, and Potawatomi if you bring some snacks and water since it's almost a 20 mile loop. Bloomer is fun just to session the steep and rooty bits off the sides of the trails and to do the old rickety huck to flat drop. I hope that's useful info. Happy biking. 👍😁👍
Oh, and at Stony ->just Roller Coaster to Back Nine, then we finish it off on Big Air(The gnarly downhill bit that leads to the parking lot). 😉
