I use tags for everything, I use the @ when :who and /what philosophy. I can’t remember where I saw this, I’m sure you will know. I find this very useful to archive old notes by year and for searches too
Nesting Tags is really for the user so you can separate related items to a Master theme - so Motoring as the master then under that Tyres, Services, MOT etc.
Up early …or late today, Carl? Thanks for your help, sir. Tags are an area that I haven’t used for some reason. This was very useful for me. Stay safe and healthy!
Carl, enjoying your videos and appreciate the effort you put into creating this content. Any thoughts on doing a video on how you use tags? Probably more of the power user tips and tricks.
In the beginning = 7 years ago, I used the notebooks to organize my second brain = Evernote. But I find it more difficult to select the appropriate notebook for a note than to use tags. So since some years I only use tags to find my notes. The advantage is that a note only can stay in 1 notebook (or you have to copy it to another notebook) but I can put several tags on a note. A note can be useful in more than 1 notebook.
Excellent overview. Thank you!
You're welcome, Linda.
I've been using Evernote forever. I stumbled upon your videos and I love them! Do you know a workaround on how to find notes without tags?
Hi Yvette, you can search for your notes by title or keyword too. Evernote's search is likely to find it very quickly.

That came from Enrico Nahler. He demoed that years ago. I remember it well and it works a treat.

Oops, scheduled the video to go out 12 hours early. LOL
I really love these videos. Keep up the good work...
Thanks, Jerry.

Thank you for the suggestion. I'll add that to the list.
Basic & Simple!
Thank you, Malcolm.
Carl, do you find that the flexibility of tags causes you to streamline / replace your notebook structure?
Not really. Tags for me are just for searching. I rely mainly on the notebook structure.
@@Carl_Pullein thanks for the quick reply. Looking forward to more videos in the series.

Hi Carl, great video but your volume output seems a little high in the beginning.
I’d had to invest in a new mic and the settings were slightly wrong. All fixed now though.
I Prefer tags because a note can be useful in more than 1 notebook.
That's true.
