Simple, but my mind is blown. I continue to look for back linking methods. It appears that there are many more than I thought. It helps that I am a Todoist and Evernote user. Thank you Carl Pullein.
Both Nozbe & Remember the Milk have direct integrations. Create EN reminder - straight to task, date included. Nozbe you can directly attach EN notes. Trello has a EN power up. TaskClone is a nice integration tool if you do a lot of EN/Task Manager stuff.
Excellent... ... and similar between Evernote and almost any app to take a link. The Trello one is a nice way of having a much bigger 'note' that Trello would be useable within its native form. So what about the link Evernote into the Trello card?
Hello Carl, thanks for all your very helpful content. When I link from Evernote to Todoist, I'm not able to get the task name to show; the name of the task is currently showing the link. I've tried parentheses (), and brackets []. Do you have any guidance on how to fix this? Thanks in advance!
Hi Carl, I really enjoy your content and lessons! I did your free COD course recently and enjoyed and learnt from that too - thank you so much🙏 I wanted to ask you, have you ever opened up Evernote on your mobile and all of your Notebooks have disappeared? Gulp! I had that just now - eeek. I went out and came back and still nothing. Eventually, it refreshed and all my notebooks appeared - phew! It was quite concerning. Just interested to know if you’ve had this issue too? Worried they’d totally disappear for good - can I trust Evernote? Thank you
Hi Tanya, I haven't had that issue but I haven't used the mobile version of Evernote much. Working from home has me using the desktop app more frequently. I remember I once had an issue with notes disappearing during the beta testing last year, but never my notebooks.
@@Carl_Pullein oh no that’s so concerning! Lately, I’ve also found there’s been a lag on Todoist - if I add something from my desktop it doesn’t always sync on my mobile immediately. Makes me start to wonder if I should switch all to analog 🙈 but digital is quicker and I think more effective. Would you ever go all Analog for task and project management?
Anyone have a fix for the internal app link from evernote not working on a Mac? I know I can use the Web link as a work around, but prefer using app on Mac.
Hi Alan, are you putting a space between the “]” and “(“, whenI was experimenting I was doing that and it wasn’t working. Once I removed the space, it worked fine. (Plus check you are using the latest version of Todoist.
Ignore me, I worked it from watching how Carl added links to Trello and TeuxDeux...the Todoist part of the video didn't include the square brackets around the URL
Things 3 allows clickable links. Isn’t there a way to get links to open in the Evernote desktop app? The old Evernote did that. Things 3 is like Todoist but more simple. It’s only for iOS though.
@@Carl_Pullein Carl - thanks for everything you do. Unfortunately the internal link doesn't work right now on mac: You get this error "There is no application set to open the URL evernote:" and it doesn't allow you to choose an application. Seems to be a known issue in the Evernote forums.
I have tried to get the app link to work in Things 3 or any other program on my Mac. However the Mac does not recognize which program to use to open the link. So for me these links only work internally within Evernote itself by linking a note to another note, and not for any external apps. The only option I have is to use the web links in any external apps.
Yes, I have this problem too (since version 10) when I try to open a note via the app link from within Todoist. From Trello, it doesn't even do anything; it just opens a new browser tab and then nothing happens. Does the app-link really work for you @CarlPullein? I created this forum post about the issue and I reported it as feedback to Evernote: discussion.evernote.com/forums/topic/130369-evernote-not-automatically-recognized-as-app-to-open-classic-note-link-and-then-doesnt-open-it-in-a-new-separate-window/ I hope there will soon be a solution for this...
@@AJFaithFitness It's super frustrating that this isn't working for some folks. Personally, I see $20 per year as a way to support the developer. I don't use TeuxDeux every day, but I think it's such a good app for people who want something simple and straight forward I am happy to help and support the developer.
An easier way with Todoist, I find, is to have the Evernote note fully open then use the Todoist browser extension to add the note as a task.

I always enjoy your videos. Very helpful. I wish Evernote would update their Android app. My patience is growing thin.
Cherish the version you have now. The latest Evernote iOS app is a disaster. It’s gotten better but when it launched it was a train wreck.
very very helpful thank you. and teux deux..... that's the todo list app I've been looking for. THANKS!

I've found the web version to be very stable as well.
How many people switched from Evernote by now to Notion or Taskade? :)
