Another great tutorial, Carl. Many thanks for all you do for EN, Todoist and Apple. Your channel is very informative and the classes you offer are a tremendous value!
I love the check boxes, but I hate when it also strikes thru the prose. I want to be able to read the task. Could you please explain how to check the box without the strike thru line. Love your videos.
Have you noticed that if you keep the text at size 16 font the checkbox lines up with it but when you make the text any bigger the checkbox remains the same size? The checkbox should match the size of the text. Notability does this but Evernote doesn’t.
Thanks for this! I've been looking for a truly beginner's guide to Evernote, and I'm finding your videos very helpful. One question: I can't seem to change the font color in my notes. When I highlight a word, the bar comes up that shows the color wheel (and bold, italics, underline, etc), but it's grayed out and I can't click on any of those options. I'm using the free version. Are these options only available for the paid versions? Also, I'm not using a browser to access Evernote. I can only be logged in through two devices, so I'm using the app on my iphone and the app on my MacBook.
That's very odd, Tara. I checked mine and everything seems to be working fine. Have you tried logging out and login g back in? If that doesn't work, you may need to delete the app and reinstall it.
@@Carl_Pullein It IS very strange indeed. After I posted this question, I went into another notebook to organize my notes, and in that notebook, I COULD change the font color. So for some reason, it’s only my first notebook that doesn’t let me access the font options. Weird. But I can probably delete that notebook and create a new one to rectify the problem. Thanks for your response; and happy new year.
Hi Carl, have you tried Craft? Curious your thoughts on it. I’ve tried evernote in the past, notion for a little bit and now the craft app. However I keep coming back to using apple notes
I haven't. I don't allow myself to app switch because of the time necessary to move all my notes and learn a new app that in the end only does the same thing as Evernote does but in a slightly different way.
When is Evernote going to allow us to create a handwritten note just like in Notability or GoodNotes? How many people do you think would leave notetaking apps if Evernote gained this ability?
I suspect that would need a fundamental rework of Evernote. Evernote's not trying to compete with Notability or Goodnotes. Try storing over 10,000 notes in either of those apps. Not pretty.
Funny that you mentioned that....I just bought a MacBook Air, yesterday. My first Mac, been a windows machine user for a loooong time. I’m really enjoying the notes and reminders on it so far. EN is next. 👍
You move your mouse so fast and it's so small, it is difficult to keep up with where you are. Some type of circle around your mouse would be very helpful.
I don't know what they are except for 1Password. That's my demo account and I don't use Chrome on a day to day basis. I use Safari for my real work. They were probably added when I did a demo sometime in the past.
Thank you so much ! You are great !
Very good and informative.
Thank you, Julio.

I think this was a feature request by the majority of users and was recently added. I'm not aware of any workarounds.
Thank you for the step by step guide with Evernote version 10.
Thank you, for watching, John Paul.
Thank you Carl!

Ooh, didn't notice that, but then I use the page zoom to make things bigger and the check does get bigger that way.

Carl, you just find a bug :) You add tag on moved note, and it disappeared... That's stuff to do for Evernote developers ;)
Didn't notice that one.

@@Carl_Pullein that is a good rule to live by. However I believe I am a app-ohalic and I need help.

I have been dreading Evernote... but then I got an M1 MacBook Air and Evernote 10 is a dream on that thing.
Yeah, I noticed the speed-bump when I began using an M1 Mac.

By the way, could you betray what extensions you use in Chrome? :-)
Web Clipper is easy to recognise, but what about the others?

@@Carl_Pullein Oh, I see :) Thanks ;)
How to duplicate notebook
That's not possible. You can duplicate notes, not notebooks.
