      Not as easy for a vessel taken under sanctions to be sold. Takes lots of courtroom work to prove the government(s) now own and can sell. And in regards to AIS. Every new AIS& device had to be programned with a MMSI and this can be done by anyone who has access to the device. Therefore I believe it is possible that AIS and Vessel are at different locations.

    Wasn't the Russian flagged oiltanker called Vyazma the very same oiltanker that sailed close to another Russian owned superyacht a few weeks ago?
    It was featured in one of your videos about a fleeing Russian owned superyacht and the place was in the Mediterranean as well.
    At the time you speculated it may have filled up the superyacht with fuel at sea.

  • @davidvincent1093
    @davidvincent1093 2 роки тому +6

    Even if he were to buy it back below market value it would make no difference because he would still be on the hook for the difference. say it sells for $1 Million that would mean he STILL would owe the bank $20 Million plus accrued interest until that amount is paid off. I am fairly JP Morgan would still want the rest of their money. The real question is if he owes $21 million and the ship sells for say $30 million who receives the difference? Under normal auction procedures the owner would receive any difference minus costs but since he is under sanctions the only thing I could see JP Morgan doing is put the money in a non interest bearing account and that again posses a problem of him wanting the interest and asking why JP Morgan was holding the money without drawing money on it. this could be interesting

    • @nzcyclone
      @nzcyclone 2 роки тому

      In that case though, I doubt that they would sell it, it probably has a min value to sell which is probably the amount owing. Anything got above that then is a win for the bank. The biggest issue I can see is these owners whether rightly or wrongly have had their vessels taken from them which was out of their control. I am sure once all this is over and settles down. Those owners are going to want their vessels back......and I would imagine they will use any means to get those vessels back.... I would not want to be caught in the middle.

    • @nzcyclone
      @nzcyclone 2 роки тому

      The other issue is even though they are probably going to go a lot cheaper than they normally would. They still cost the same amount each year in running costs and expenses. If people could not afford them before. They still cannot afford them now regardless of what price they end up going for. I guess some could be thinking buy it cheap and sell it for a quick profit.. The issue there is it is still a seized x Russian owned Yacht.. it does not matter how many "new" owners it has or gets its value will never get to its true value again or at least I do not believe so. It now has that "stigma" attached to it forever.
