Lots, they are shrouded in many layers of management dealings to ensure this privacy. They have (had?) the money to assure this privacy. I expect the private boats have owners that have enemies, and these people do not want someone taking out their grudges by sinking their pride and joy.

8:59 At first Heesen was denied - by the Dutch Court - to buy out this Russian because the notary representing him refused to cooperate. Later on, the Heesen board managed to persuade the notary that the offer was fair and in the best interest of both parties. For un unknown sum, Alekperov was bought out. Heesen financed this with - in their own words - a VERY long 0% interest loan. Given the ever going profitably of the company it was probably financed in-house. Good"!
Although in most jurisdictions, 0% interest loans are non-enforceable, as the Borrower is not giving any consideration to the Lender for the use of Lender's monies (loan).
It’s really interesting to note that the Russian diplomat, in his resignation from the Russian Foreign Services stated that the entire tonnage of the luxury yachts owned by the Russian oligarchs exceeds that of the whole Russian Navy.

I guess Nord could be out in international waters to change ownership and avoid the tax liability. The transfers are always done outside 12nm. But also, she did have a number of dry docks after she was built so maybe she has technical issues requiring more sea trials. The new crew theory also holds weight.
I've done a few ownership transfers on merchant vessels. But those just happen in port. new crew shows, old crew goes, captains sign a piece of paper and done. Probably loads of paper pushing also happens between the offices, but the actual transfer is the moment the captains sign.

Vladivostock to Busan was a 'normal' route prior to pandemic times. No way they would go there now - 1) pandemic is still on and docking would involve many bureaucratic hassles; and 2) South Koreans are very loyal to the West and would respect the sanctions. This will be the first of many issues, all the world's yachts need fuel and stores on a regular basis but all the seized or arrested vessels will not get it. This will leave lots of supplies companies round the world will commercial issues. Is anyone looking after any of the vessels to be sure that they don't sink at their moorings due to rain and bilge ingress.
So why doesn't the court in Fiji just get a crew member to testify. They would then have to disclose the owner regardless of any NDA as the legal requirement would surely overule the NDA.

I think the market for confiscated superyachts has crashed into paying someone to take over the liability of owning the yacht.

This will be the first of many issues, all the world's yachts need fuel and stores on a regular basis but all the seized or arrested vessels will not get it. This will leave lots of supplies companies round the world will commercial issues. Is anyone looking after any of the vessels to be sure that they don't sink at their moorings due to rain and bilge ingress.

Just one question: Why doesn't the UK design and build superyachts?
So why doesn't the court in Fiji just get a crew member to testify. They would then have to disclose the owner regardless of any NDA as the legal requirement would surely overule the NDA.
