So this is why I use dedicated Sequencers instead of addressable on my GTR builds. NEXT video, will be all about the RIGHT stuff to buy, and how to get a killer end result when building with addressable LEDs. I’ll bring you some of the best tips from the pros that are dominating in that part of the market 👌
I'm not a fan of having to rip the front of my car off every six months just to pull a headlight to replace burnt out gray spots. Spend the extra money and do it the right way. If you love lighting and want the bells and whistles go all out. Quality, brightness and longevity are important to me. Great message in the fact that everyone has different tastes and budget.
I thought I was a genius for wiring up 2 step sequential signals. This is next level
I am the least technology person ever. I love how it was explained. Thank you! You are exactly right. Choose your specialty and dominate it. Love the channel. Keep up the great work!!
I drive an oldsmobile alero... the headlights are easy to get into, but I'm limited on space for stuff... having said that, I'd love to try to get sequential turn signals in there, but being an absolute rookie I have zero clues on what LEDs to buy, the type of board to solder them to etc... I've watched most of your UA-cam content and feel confident I could do the Corsomotion install but have no idea what to buy for it Haha!!!
Absolutely love your stuff man, keep rocking the lighting industry!!!
Thanks Tim! New switchback LED boards for Corsomotion are about to release. When they do, I’ll do all kinds of videos on them 👍
I wasn't sure want to get, so I bought some cheap led stripe off wish as well as a set of Profile Pivot. I am also going to try and make a custom light housing for the strips out of acrylic. I've been watching a lot of videos on how to melt/solft acrylic, so I can shape it to fit my light.
I'm doing this because I'm replacing my projectors with a set of Morimoto M-LED 2.0 projectors and while I've got the lights open, I want to do everything all at the same time.
Your videos helped direct me to the Profile Pivot strips.
Hype for this video I was looking on different light options to do my my light mods and you taught me a lot about what options I should want to use thanks for this video
Unicorn Lights. Yep. I'ma use that to address the color changing led from now on.
Happened to witness it on an MUV and looked so cool at night. The way they did it was, amazing. It was on full show just big stripes of Red Green and Blue running right to left, and it was also hooked up to the Brake and Turn signals, so when they hit the brakes it'll start flashing red (Very noticeable FYI. Right in the eyes.), and an orange when turning and it'll run towards where they were turning to, from the middle of the trunk door. Btw it was hidden on the under-side of the trunk door as I presume, didn't have a chance to pull them over and ask 😂
First time commenting and watching the second clip. Me love light shows too. yay.
I love the choice of music for the slow mo haha
Awesome video. Love the break down. Color changing unicorn lights are on point. Lol.
haha, I see a day in the future where you can slap a little sticker on anything you want, and it'll just automatically be a TV screen in some random shape, playing ads, Netflix, etc. For now though, they're still just unicorn strips ;)
@@flyryde I'm finishing up my first build. I used the profile Prism RGB halos and a $20 RGB Amazon special. After I get it all together I'll send you a pic. I wouldn't have done it, but your videos made me feel like I could. Thank you.
Matthew Vasak awesome dude 👊
Really good video, thanks for all the great info!
Thanks for watching!
love you tutorials - thank you so much!
I absolutely love this! Wow!
Definitely need this. As the owner of a 2014 CIVIC coupe, there’s almost nothing in terms of modifications
Hi, Chris I"m one of your followers from the Philippines, and because of you I really love making costume light see my youtube video. My first ever made sequential led light the one you show up the 20$.... thank you and more power
Just came across your channel, looking forward to learning some stuff since I want to do more stuff to my truck
Chris I'm like you sequential type number two is the one that I'm looking more forward to putting on my car if the sequential type 3 ghost would be affordable then why not? Either way they both look great.
Something so simple to everyone is like jaw dropping to me when I see sequential lights
Cool stuff man!
I actually kinda just like the $20 option and/or a switchback halo ring around a projector. More simple is just my taste though. Heat is definitely a problem and it would be nice to have a reliable simple option for a "bang for the buck" price.
Hey C hris , 👋 great video! Great thorough explanation... can't agree with you more! Ghozt is the way to go!
I love your content, keep up the good work!
Thanks Joseph! Which setup did you like most?
Great video as always. I'm not really a tech person. Got a little lost with the tech to be honest but I really enjoy your presentation skills. Lol. As you said 'its reward vs cost for some' and then 'To each their own.' The expensive setup looks the best without any doubt. It's all about managing your customer's expectations and delivering that 'Wow factor' to them.
Thanks so much Louvendran! Much appreciated. Whats the origin of that fantastic name?
@@flyryde Sanskrit/Tamil. From one of the characters of the Ramayana.
Love the music choice bro!
Gee thanks, I just spit beer all over my keyboard with the "nerd" skit. Love the content brother, keep it up!
Yum,
I can't wait for my ghozt modules to arrive so i can mod my crusty nugget indicators and derpy drivers will actually see my indicator while merging.
Hey Chris im a car guy in my forties, i just love your content and your way of speach... i got a 2000 Grand Vitara and thinking about doing something custom on my headlights.... to tell you the truth my opinion about coloured leds running around isnt my thing ... but those white leds are something i would love to see on my project also the amber sequential leds are so cool :-) Im going to purchase a new set of headlights to place on the car and work on the old ones first just in case something goes wrong :-) but im a handy kinda guy i think things will turn out great !!!! Greetings from Greece !!!
Rlly cool video loved The content of it! Now please do one for interior lights 😁😁
Great information. Big respect on your videos. I've been researching programmable for a big airstream build I'm doing. Its 34 feet long, so would be 78 ish feet around it. Really wanting to do an LED strip (visually look like one, I'm sure it would take multiple strips) around it. Programmable to be do animations. Like pulse or even have a section that rotates around the entire thing. Any thoughts on what products to use would be greatly appreciated.
El Efecto Fuego esta un Bombazo
I am just a bit tilted at the moment , i am one of the guys on the arduino side of the discussion (long time lurker first time commenting.) i would love to try ghozt modules for my own car but they are bit expensive due to international shipping and tax costs so i just bought an arduino and some ws2812b strips (144 leds on 1 meter) , i just want to correct you on one thing , you can use 12 voılt rgb strips with arduino , if you want you can even go higher and just use the data cable of the stip to change colors. I would love to see more adressable projects on the channel in the future tho. I understand the ease of use with the ghozt modules but as stated before sometimes we just have to make do with what we got.. much love.
Thank you brother, and you'll see more addressable coming soon. I'll always maintain my position on practicality when it comes to anything "Custom Lighting Builder" related. 999 out of 1000 comments when it comes to this stuff is consumer sided, as opposed to the builder, service side of things. Practicality is the oxygen that keeps you alive in this business, and with technology sprouting wings and flying like it does these days, the distraction of options is a plague for the guys trying to figure out how to make this stuff sustainable and profitable.
Very much appreciate you watching, lurking, commenting, and anything else you do to the contribute to the channel my man :)
If using Adressable don’t use 144 led/m because those are the ones that tend to have overheating issues , but don’t use 60 led/m because the light isn’t diffused , find some 100/120led/m those are the sweet spot that tend to overheat less
My order includes 60 led/m to 144, i got bunch of strips in the mail at the moment , this will be my first lighting project but per your suggestion i can try with 96 led/m first :) .. At the moment im just trying to improve the coding on the arduino with cheap single color leds until my order arrives from china.
@@flyryde You are 100% correct. On the consumer side doing stuff with custom-built controllers on Arduino is hard to resell. They are touchy beasts best left to the creator movement. I make custom light kits for my golf carts and use 6$ UNOs w/ SK9822/APA102 connected to a Pi4 with Crankshaft (android audio). But, to resell this stuff in a "consumer market" would take significantly more engineering effort. For a DYI like myself it's great cheap and cheerful. FastLED library is great but, you have to be a software engineer to deal with it. I often get asked to build the same lights for people and refuse to do it because then I have to support them. For my own stuff its fine but, it would take significant effort for me to commercialize it so I could sell it as off the shelf. This is what DIY creators often forget. I wouldn't ever try to hand over most of my stuff to someone who isn't in the know because it would be a colossal mess. An "advanced" wire harness and headlights that are boring for a golf cart cost upwards of 400$++ but, I can knock out my own crazy lights for significantly less... but, to make it resellable in as a commercial product like you are doing... Just use Ghozt. :)
I like the 3rd one
I have seen soooo many cool things here that I would like to add to my Morimoto XB lights, but am nervous to try open them up. Anyone know if they can be "baked" open?
Bless weekend 🤘🏼😁
Ideally Corso or Ghost on my 2017 Nissan Altima, right now Just wanting to add a switchback to the LED's and possibly a halo to the Projectors..
Can you use the Ghozt sequential board AND have the XKChrome bluetooth adapter on halos?
I love the xk chrome app but I want sequential halos as well
if you could do sequential lights for new cars can you do them for old cars like a 1991 Acura Integra by any chance?
Could you a similar system for the z32 300 zx which uses the Lamborghini Diablo headlights
With the Amazon 3 wire setup I’ve seen people wire a dimmer to it to make them brighter is this needed? And how long do them Amazon strips normally last
How can I get that fire turn-signal look on my 2008 Hummer H3? It's blacked-out and I really want that fire on the front and back (maybe even something on the side?). Your thoughts?
can you do something with a set of vintage quad headlights? Id like to upgrade from sealed beams to the projector angel angry eyes.??
I'm looking to do something like this on my 2017 XT5 headlights. What do you suggest I use?
Just out of curiosity what could I use and how would I connect 2 lights so they can be easily disconnect them as my car has headlights and corner lamps and want to have sequential that go from headlight over to the corner lamps headlight is bolted in behind the corner lamps.
I'd love to create my own custom headlights on my Golf to replace the OEM halogen ones. I'm just wondering how to make the custom internals in the housing! How are you making the light diffuser in front of the LEDs? I'd like to change the location of the turn signals and make a cool shape, and add projectors. I'm wondering if you would be able to 3D internal components that attach to the lens
Your videos have been the only helpful videos online!! Everyone else's "custom" headlights are opening them up and adding demon eyes in the existing projectors, and adding angel eyes...
Programming an Arduino and programming a Ghozt is similar when using dedicated wires to each LED. Key difference are software for Ghozt says stop or turn instead of a pin number..
While an Arduino can be programmed to perform the functions of the processor on the Ghozt board, there are other circuits to be sourced and assembled in a manner that can handle vibration and environmental issues when making your own equivalent. A lot of DIY guys leave out components these boards have, which reduces reliability. No big deal if you can and want to fix them, but a reputation killer for a business.
Hi chris quick question, Is there any risk of blowing the ECU of my Toyota GT86, when doing the wiring. I'm into electronics. But.. do I need some protection or I can hook straight the DRL wire to position lights and amber to turn signal wire on the back connector of the headlights. Thanks a lot
hey where can i individually get those clear mounting brackets that come with the strips
Is it possible to plug the first LED strip you showed (the one you can get for $20 on Amazon) into a controller to program it to be like the middle retrofitted headlight led strip you showed?
So if i wanted red, amber and white (for tail lights brake, turn signal and reverse) my route is addressable rgb?
Can you help me out? I’m looking for a 12” white strip that can light starting at one end and smoothly going across until the whole strip is lit and then just stay on until power is removed. I need two that can operate simultaneously. Is there such a thing?
Hello i custom my skoda octavia 2 facelift 2010 with sequince led band . When it is in parking light iti flickers . And also in turn light . What can i do?
hi, can you advise any strip (bendable) that can only show amber? for the rear of my c6 in uk cheers
Hey,
I know this is a older video... I'm doing taillights on a dodge durango 2018. I was wondering what red leds you'd recommend?
Please tell me which two-color LEDs you use
what if you want something colour changing like adressable leds but dont want them to over heat
So, I just purchased a 2014 Optima EX and I like the way the DRL look on the SXL but to replace the whole headlamp for both side are expensive so I’m just going to do them myself and I’m not talking about just sticking a strip at the top of the headlight. Going to pull off the lens and do the demon light, change the amber reflectors to the white and install the LED DRL. So what would be the best LED to use? Addressable is out of course lol
I actually wanted to know if you had a link to a brand I could.
Charles Taylor addressable might be your best option if you didn’t just want something OEM looking. For just super bright switchback, I’d go with Diode Dynamics HD strips. If you’d rather it be more flashy and cool, but don’t need it for something like parking light, I’d go with a high quality addressable (not like the cheap roll I showed).
Honestly, with demon eyes and addressable controller by BlueGhozt, it’s pretty wild what you can achieve without a crazy amount of work.
Where can i find the switchback Turn signals that go ambee white amber white and then when the turn signal is off its solid amber?
I just want to know what is the song you used during your little demonstration / montage video?
Why is there not an option to save this video to playlist?
Have you ever done Ram 2500 headlights yet?
I love addressable. BlueGhozt for the win!
Marine Kustomz I’m excited to show the next video about doing addressable RIGHT! There’s so much I don’t know about them, like which products fail a lot, which ones almost never fail. You guys that use this stuff all the time have some super helpful knowledge that I’ll be packing into that video 👍
Check out this build I just finished. ua-cam.com/video/qe53XJgc5-I/v-deo.html
I have some led strips that I use you can review? Just let me know
I bought switchback led strips but they don’t switch to amber when turn signal is on. They just flash white led. I tested on battery before connecting to the car and it switched to amber as it should. I have it connected correctly to the car. Could it be that I need a driver or some type of control module?
Please create sequential + drl for the lexus is250 second generation 🙏 💕
Where can i get single super white/amber leds
What would your price be to do a set of tail lights for a 91 MKlll supra
Is it possible to get rgb colors on the fully programmable lights? I bought aftermarket headlights with addressable rgb strips and I love them but they are so limiting it’s frustrating. I’d love to do what you do, but I simply didnt have the knowledge of the different kinds of lighting for this stuff and I just went “wow rgb give me it now” without knowing that you can’t see my running light or turn signal in the day.
What brand of lights are reliable
Is blueghozt the best controller available on the market right now?
I love your videos man i really want to start building lights and your videos help out a lot, but what kind of cable do you but? What gauge or what quality?
I honestly have never had an issue directly related to the gauge wire I use(anything from 26-18awg). I think that’s a pretty common case of overthinking things. Grab what you can and get goin 👍
FlyRyde thank you so much! Im trying to figure out where to buy specific parts there so many option i love how you link your products i saw a set of 350z headlights i want to build that have the blueghozt controller with some cool neopixel strips and halos but they had diffusers can i use diffussers with any halos or how does that work
Hi! Chris where can I buy the GHOZT MODULE, Please
Could you recommend a DRL dual colour PLCC4? Probably a link or at least vendor/manufactured?
Regards
You took me to School ,but I need help lol ,I have a LED flasher relay installed and when I turn on my blinker the strip stays solid when the parking light is turned on, but when I turn the parking lights off then the blinkers will work correctly what does that mean?
Hey Boss, I want these on my pool in 12V. Need a little advice. TIA
I cannot get the corsomotion ones to work as I planned. Keep burning up boards. Just going to get strips and make it work.
Hi i was wondering could someone help me please! I'm from the UK, am looking for lenses for a jaguar XF 2009 headlight wheres the best place to get them please??? Thanks
Do you do raptor headlights
Make a video on how to upload from the laptop yonthe controller please
What if the cheap Amazon light was hooked up to a blueghozt? Would it be better?
Hi FlyRyde I have a 2016 Volkswagen GLI, this vehicle airway has LED lights… can I get them to be sequential….? I try buying sequenced lights for it but it can’t be installed
It cool 20$ not bad for new updates on the car
I was wondering if there a way to wire my sequential amber to be my running lights
Any ideas?
Can the XK or the ghozt be cut to length.
How much u charge to make switch backs?
Defo Ghost the one and only
How do I get butyl glue off the surface of my headlight?
I bought a LED 144 light strip, that comes with absolutely no directions, how to install? I used my test light to find the proper wires to connect to? I’m sure you’ve seen these? So, I hook up the light, I get no brake light, first time testing it, non running car. I start the car, I get DRL MODE, on the light? Even after I hit the pedal, it didn’t light up, like a brake light? I try the signals, nothing? I shut the lights off, and try again? Start the car, just try the signals, they work. Soon as I hit the brake pedal, it goes back to DRL mode? I used a test light, thought I was on the proper wires, according to my test light? Can not get this thing to work properly? I don’t get it? This is my second light too? Any suggestions?
Hey bro I know this is video is pretty old but I’m wondering if you could help me out. I’ve got an RX8 and underneath the spoiler on back I’ve got 2 -10” red led strips. They have 3 functions-
1- brake flasher (flashes 4x when brake applied)
2- park light (turns on solid when lights turned on)
3- sequential turn signals
My problem is, I can’t get the sequential leds to work. I basically bought them for this function. I changed out my signal light bulbs for leds and had to add resistors to stop the hyper flash but still no go. The sequential function worked while it was in the box but I’m lost. Any ideas??
you're OK homie.
Where can I get real deal version of these. I just bought the same ones and they look good at night but day time....to hell with that. Can’t even see them. I want the same thing just brighter for the day.
I would use the 20$ amazon strips on top part of my zx14 lights for turn signals...dont roast me lol
ken martin haha, dude it’s probably the single best bang for the buck in terms of time invested / outcome. I say go for it!
@@flyryde hey bro what is your experience with them blue demon/angel eye projector lights on ebay? I ordered 4 of them for the zx14 to replace the stock projectors. Is there anything issues with them that you know of? They have a blue housing, red demon eye, and white angel eye ring
Can you make me a set of programmable led chasing led headlights and taillights for a Y33 q45 98? Lmk how much please bro?
Dude I'm still waiting for some corsomotion content
I want to attempt to make some sick wrx headlights with my spares 😁
Great platform. What year?
FlyRyde it’s a 2013 wrx ig-@suicide_wrx for pics of the crazy camo wrap lol
Emanuel Lazarit you should do RGB spoiler icicles 👌😜
FlyRyde what do they look like? I’m new to the lighting game lol
Are all of them flexible? I’m looking for a set of switchbacks for my rsx headlights but i don’t see anywhere on the websites if the ones I’m looking at are flexible or not. Mainly been looking at theretrofitsource i believe. I might just give up and buy the cheapo amazon ones that will last a month 😂😂😂
I tried addressable led for sequential turn signals, they're way too dim to be road legal
Where are u located
hey, I'm new into the custom lighting. I am really enjoying these videos because I always thought I had to go buy expensive oracles or something instead of building my own. thank you for releasing these videos! is there a problem with using the 20 dollar ones to begin with though? and are they hard to hook up?
Did you ever do it to your headlights? I’m currently using the $20 DRL strip and so far has been good, easy to wire tap it to my headlights
How much?
/s
Addresable is the best for car show.
This aged well. Pretty much everyone uses addressable nowadays.
On the addressable strip, the very beginning looks like a few LEDs are not working 👀
Its just the tube. My lens on the camera makes everything light related look God Level, lol, so I have to try to sometimes make the lights look less amazing for the videos. Shoot the same thing on my iPhone and it'll look like that strip was the craziest light ever invented, lol.
