Just did this mod to my 2017 Tundra. Was skeptical at first but WAY stoked now😂. Been asked 3 times today from other tundra owners what I did especially with the turn signals. Thanks for posting this video!
just got mine for dodge. you made it so simple and easy. other vids i’ve watched make all things so confusing, running cables all around and take unnecessary steps. i bought the strips, the clips and will get to it on my day off. thanks for the great vid man
I have been searching for at least a few months on a video that ACTUALLY showed it step by step on how to install and some tips on figuring things out if you were confused. 10/10 tutorial.
I was skeptical at first. But I have to agree with you when you say they look cool. The gap that is lit up between the hood and fender sort of splits off and looks very nice. A nice custom look for very little money.
Nothing wring with that, I like those better than today’s newer cars. If you want any updates, you can install the latest gadgets. Period. Who cares about star button engine or whatever
So I'm an old school add ons kinda guy for every vehicle I've ever owned. I didnt even think about little L.E.D. lights being used for blinkers. This is an awesome and easy upgrade for any level person wanting a way cooler looking head light! I am buying these for my 2018 Silverado pickup! Thanks for the post brah brah!
@@caseG80 way better than expected bro. Easy to tie into the wiring and really completes the look to the factory headlights. I also grabbed up leds for both under and inside the cab, plus white leds for the bed. Ihad way more involved wiring to do with under the body and under the bed rails( which i had to fab up my own metal in order to run the white lights). But its was all worth it!
Thanks for the detailed video! First thing I did was pull up UA-cam after I bought them. eBay had them for $9.88 I went a little backyard electrician and just put the wires in the wedge and then stuck the bulb in. My 2012 Nissan Juke looks crazy mad at night.
I have the same 3 wire light wire on my truck will just follow what you did with the outside two wires. Got the parts but given cold and rainy weather and soon snow will wait for better weather to install. You rock man
I think a good double sided tape is more than enough, I have external parts on my car that have held up for years. If those can last, I'm sure the tape in a housing will be fine.
@@AdamGuiness Its just necessary, I've been running one of these on my rear window using double sided tape for nearly 3 years now. i104.photobucket.com/albums/m197/Jarekjt/kakumei0.jpg?hotlinkfix=1578799343013
Yeah but being as these are flexible plastic, they'll probably get dried out, discolored and crack from the sun's UV rays. You'll want to be able to replace them without scratching up the vehicle.
I removed the headight and put it in the oven for 15 minutes then completely separate the plastic glass and put the strip lightening inside the headlight itself. But yours is not bad at all though!
Good Video but not always comfortable wiring but might try. Don't like DRL on my '19 Rogue and this will give me the switchback look I want with a curve. Replacement head unit on Amazon was close to $600 bucks, for $20 bucks this is perfect. Thanks for your video and another upgrade to my Rogue.
Just a little tip mate those plastic connectors usually have issues down the track your better off twisting soldering and taping connections IV had problems with them before they corrode and don't make a proper connection :)
not bad man, better than having to tear the grill and rest of the stuff off. will check it out on my 2017 Tundra, Lights on the way should be a easy install as I am used to working on Harleys
Your video really help with the wire tapping part. Thank you so much! All the other one just showcase the lights, before and after, not the full process. So you don't really need to get into the fuse box at all?
I hooked onto the headlight power wire and turn signal. They're not on during the day but they look good at night. If you do hook to the daytime running lights then at night they wont be on. Mine have been working perfect for 3 years now, different brand. Been thinking about doing a red/Amber strip below my tailgate. And T-taps Suck!
I have a 14 tundra, I installed the led strips the same way you did. 1 major problem, when I start the truck the lights turn on amber and both flash at the same time. When the truck isnt running everything works fine. Any ideas???
Do you guys have stock filament bulb taillights? I just installed these and I’m getting the same issue. With the truck off, the drl work when turning them on, and the hazards work perfect. But when I turn the truck on, the blockers are super hyper flash and if I don’t turn the headlights on, then both sequential blinkers are strobing. I’m hoping it’s my led brake/tail lights that are screwing this up
Can you put up the link for the one’s that connect to the headlight’s themselves, please? Looking for multicoloured as well. The truck ended up looking sick af.
Can you give review now, almost after 6-7 months. Did the outer part turned yellow or brown due to continuous exposure to sunlight , water , dust etc ?
Lights become dimmer, barely visible during daytime but still works, they collect dirt and dust like crazy so that doesn't help, they rarely shortcircuit, it's $18.
I have a 2014 tundra as well I connected everything the way it should however, my daytime running lights and my turn signal are both the same wire so I get amber running lights and turn signal, the only way I get the white LED light is if I turn on the headlights, but the amber turn signals still work so not sure what to do here, do I leave it like that or connect both LED wires to the one wire but I think if I do that I'll get both white and amber running lights and turn signal?? Any ideas????
Actually installed these on my 2015 Chrysler 200.. They look very cool for sure. But unfortunately mine had a couple of the LEDs burn out on both sides in the middle of the strips. Happened within 2-3 months. Haven’t had access to my car in months because I joined the military, so not sure how they’ve held up since then.. Hopefully you don’t have that problem with yours!

Thought it was wrong wiring but a flipped it and the turn signals didn’t work so not sure if you see the same.
