Thank you again Adam. This hobby is a great way to meet like minded people and form friendships. Alex has always been a stand up guy and a great friend. Being in the position to return a car to him that has significant meaning is a blessing.
My buddy had 2 of these PBs brought into Canada in the 80’s when we were teenagers. The only 2 ever in our area. I raced mine all over, the biggest event was just south of us in the states. The 2spd was fast. I still have an old competition plus mag with a pic of my car. I did the same as you, ditched all my cars when I turned 16. Years later I traded some full sized car parts for my buddies old PB, not the mint specimen mine was. This car is beat, it’s in my shop now, along with half a dozen old kyosho and yokomo cars.
Its a great hobby to be a part of.
Dad is/was a very avid RC airplane enthusiast, and had RC Modeller on subscription. When I was younger, the whole bookcase in kitchen was filled with years worth of them. As a young bloke growing up - always looked forward to seeing the next model on the cover haha!

Jason your cars and channel just keep getting better - the effort you put into the hobby is unmatched! I wonder if any of the living PB folks are aware of just how much love their old buggies are getting these days?!? Safe travels on your way to the races can’t wait to see what have in store for us!!!
Wade thank you. I continue to challenge myself and learn more about how to deliver more to the audience. It's been a fun road so far and I appreciate the friends I have made in the hobby.

OMG myspace 😮 thats a blast from the past 😁 one of the guys at my club runs a pb mustang. To be fair it goes pretty well aswell.

Super cool story and i think iys amazing that ur doing that for Alex! And im sure hes going to have a blast and hes going to be in a time capsule of when he was a kid
It would have been criminal not to return a car to him. It was a good opportunity for me to no doubts finish cars in my own collection but also for me to sort as good and reliable car for Alex to drive and potentially race in vintage events in the future,

Yes I will be doing even more than that. There needs to be some more indepth look at these cars and the 2 speed. After the Vintage Bash 2.0 I will get to it.

Were you ever into rc cars or only horse riding?
This was obviously the first publication I ever saw as a 13 yo boy.
I always remembered the cars and the fact there was a girl sitting on a log holding them.

It has been an interesting look back at how things use to be. Now days you don't see bikini girls handing out trophies at these events nor girls on the covers of toy car magazines. It's just a sign of the times. This magazine always stuck out to me being it was the first I ever picked up on the news stand. I can admit the cover note was interesting to read as Im sure a lot of boys were let down that a young woman with r'c cars on the cover was in fact not into rc cars at all- lol.
Have you ever thought about collecting all IFMAR-winning cars, from all the different categories? I mention this because from my recollection one of the first 1/8th scale off-road buggies that won IFMAR was... I think... a Mustang. A Wikipedia IFMAR page will list the winning cars for different categories.
No I haven't to be fair. My inspiration in this hobby comes from my home track of BORMAC back in the 80's and 90's plus many of the articles I would read from magazines back then. Im not cashed up to just go around buying up things I don't need and my content isn't making me a single dollar. The channel isn't monetised because I want to save the viewers the displeasure of having to watch adds.
