In love with almost every sleep token song since calcutta but if I had to pick a favourite it would be Atlantic. Will never forget that first listen to the album and just being overwhelmed by the emotions it invoked in me and I firmly believe no other band will ever make me feel the same way as that
The rain in the shift from V1 to V2 is still one of the most gutsy and brilliant sonic decisions they've made. It could seem trite but it lands so well
Favorite song of them has to be Telomeres, an EXTREMELY underrated song to say the least. The contrast between the soft piano, to jazzy guitar and bass, to a strong chorus is amazing! It was their least popular on TPWBYT but it takes the top of my list
100% AOTY contender. Sleep Token has perfected their sound. Each song is so different from the last. I do miss the old drum mix though. Don’t get me wrong, the drums on this album still absolutely slap, but like you said, the snare specifically just doesnt pop like it did on sundowning. Side note, I also get really heavy Loathe vibes from this song.
Well as a producer myself, these songs are far more dense and layered, so this multiplies the difficulty to get thing to cut through because space is at a deficit. Sounds great.

I get a lot of Deftones vibes from this track. Huge production, really dark guitar tones mixed with equally dark melodies. Those harsh introductory vocals are incredible, while the melodies of the chorus/bridge are beautiful and complex. I agree with your critique of the fade-out. I always enjoy seeing how bands handle these live, and it often improves upon the recorded versions. Love the review and new channel name.
I love every Sleep Token song to a certain extent but something about the original album version of Blood Sport just hits so hard to me, especially Vessel crying at the end. Also, this song has to be my favorite of all the songs released so far. The screams at the beginning was giving me Black Metal vibes.
Jericho is my all time favourite song. I started listening in late 2018, and Jericho was the first song I heard from them - completely by accident. I thought the intro was interesting and it suited my mood for a chill night time drive. NOTHING prepared me for the second half and I was hooked from there.
The Offering. Was really obsessed with it for about 3 months after I had learned to love it, and it is still one of my most listened to songs the past weeks. It's hypnotizing, dreamy, melodic and heavy enough at the same time. Exactly what I love.
This is definitely my favourite sleep token song. It’s GORGEOUS cleans and absolutely vicious screams are so visceral it’s on a whole other level. Also lyrically this song is absolutely incredible in its brutality
I’m gonna have to say Blood Sport (either version) is my favorite song of theirs. The lyrics, the vocals, the piano, the crescendo, it’s all perfect. The Love You Want is a close second from the 2nd verse drums and ending guitars alone. I’m purposefully not picking any new singles either until I hear them in context with the rest of the album
My theory is that this song only fades out on the "Single" version.. I imagine on the album it might develop into the next song, in such a way that there was no way to just cut it down for the single
I can't get over granite, freshly released but caught me right away. The lyrics, melody and instrumental explosion at the end make it a true masterpiece

What is particularly refreshing about Sleep Token is their fearlessness in grafting cool sounds from other genres into a synthesis of their own. In this track, the beginning reminds me of Black Metal in the vocal delivery. It takes courage to synthesize, especially after finding success already.

My favorite Sleep Token song is changing everyday. This is up there, but Alkaline and Chokehold are two I always find myself wanting to listen to. But Aqua Regia is just such a different mood

Ive never seen band release a string of singles for an upcoming album, and have me love every single one. Im so excited for this album. I actually just found them last week, but they've already become my favorite band. Music hasn't made me feel this way in a long time.
Loved the direction they took with this track! Some beautifully dark harmonies in there and Vessel’s harsh vocals are soooo appropriate for the title of the song. I do wish the vocals were more forward in the mix, and agree that the snare tone from Sundowning is very much missed!
I would say aside from the new awesome singles, I will say “The Night Does Not Belong To God”. I will never forget the immense chills I got from the piano coming in and the relaxing feeling it gives me. Worship!

The drums up to this album were so unique, especially the snare. They stood out really well in the mix. Now, they kind of sound like every other modern metal drum sound I think. They're a bit muddy I agree, as is the whole production now. Definitely a bigger and louder production, which is good for some elements, but the distinctness of the drum and guitar parts do get swallowed up in the whole sometimes. Don't think I can possibly pick one favorite. An unconfident top 3 would be High Water, TNDNBTG, and Jaws.

Jaws was my first love years ago and still is. I’m pretty sure it’s not Vessel in the screams. When I heard this last night I figured it would be very reminiscent of Gods (which I do love) but I’m happy it has more evolution. This album will probably overtake Sundowning for me. This is vessel on the screams, he’s gotten a lot better since Gods, if you watch live videos over the years you can see him get better and better at screaming as time goes on
@@danes123 you think so? The show I went to last September his vocals all around were amazing. I know the current guitarist does a good bit of backup screams. It’s hard for my ears to discern his screams on this track through the distortion.

Favorite song changes with each album. Right now it is Chokehold. Before that it was High Water and before that Higher. But I like every song.
