If there were people like her in every facet of life, I would've known how to budget my finances, fix my own car, figure out calculus AND know how to do my hair. It is refreshing watching someone who not only knows their stuff, but also knows how to inform you and not be condescending. This was brilliant!!!
After listening for 2 minutes I was convinced this hair technician knew what she was doing. I have never heard anyone explain what they can do to achieve healthy hair better than her. Brava!
I love the way you broke this info down. I’ve never had anyone give me a consultation about my hair. I really, really appreciate this video! God bless you.
Sis, thank you for gracing the internet with your presence! It goes without saying, the level of professionalism you have while still being extremely personable is amazing. However, it’s the simplicity in which you explained everything that did it for me. Basically had years of videos, articles, and blogs given to me in less than 5 minutes, is it an issue of protein or moisture? Now I feel I should go reclaim my time from these other posts. 😂
I love her honesty and straight facts. With my natural hair I have been through so many obstacles from following new fads like clove water rinses/leave in s,to leaving in protein too long, then covid and losing loads of hair. And only now 2 years later something she said made so much sense. I would shed short pieces of hair every single day and no matter what I did I could not control it. I finally went in and had a big chop done which helps some, but I still continue to shed hair and my hair almost seemed like a Brillo pad and I became so flustered and frustrated. As a last resort I did end up changing my shower head and adding a filtration system and that seems to have worked wonders. But listening to these tips have made such a huge difference and now I know what my hair needs and I'm so grateful. Wish I was close to you because I would definitely come to see you. Thank you for being so informative and keeping it real!
Some people have different textures in one head of hair. Like myself. The nape of my hair is has a loose “S” wave pattern, the crown has a tight “S” wave pattern and the front has no curl pattern just straight and frizzy and this is not due to heat or color damage. My father’s head of hair is the same, therefore it’s hereditary ☺️
98% of people have different textures throughout their head, it's completely normal to have that. However, some people have intensely changed their texture due to different actions they've taken with their hair. This woman in particular was coloring for years and pulling her hair in low buns and its stretched out a texture that was already loose to begin with. This video is only speaking to that group of people who may be in the same boat as to why those textures are significantly different
Guess we’re related 😂. I have the exact same 3 patterns in the exact same places and I got it from our grandma. Lolol. Like you I saw these 3 patterns from the get go of the big chop and it has grown out to about 8 inches in that very same way.
" A product will only enhance what you already have " - THIS🙌🏾 And so much more gems were dropped in this video. I can definitely tell you're a great hair stylist who really cares abt teaching her clients the correct way to nuture our hair. And HONEST! Thank you for sharing 🙏🏾
You are a gorgeous Goddess even with your boot on you're standing tall teaching! You know your craft and and care about the crowns you keep and that's powerful. I'm grateful I crossed your channel! Wishing you healing grace 💚
She is so correct I went natural during the pandemic and had some color left over in my hair. Since the salons were closed I cut my hair and then when to the salon to get a big chop. That helped some but I had protein and hydration issues (also because I didn’t understand what was going on). Once I got it all in balance with my curly gray hair it’s finally hydrated and protein balance is on point but 😅 it took a lot of patience and not giving up….so please don’t give up it will happen. I get a lot of compliments and my hair is easier to style and I don’t use as many products to style. BE PATIENT much success to all who are going on this journey 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽🙏🏾🙏🏾
Hi there😊 You're speaking the truth! I've been natural most of my life (50+yrs) I know exactly what's important for healthy hair. Wash, condition style. Not going to preach!!! My hair is my glory and I'm going to take care of it.
She is like my hair dresser of more than 30 years. She focuses on the health of the clients hair as well as educates her on what should be done with her hair.
😮 Omg it's as if you were talking directly to me. My exact issues. Subscribed because at 61 I have hydration and protein issues and the the front is straight
THIS Hair stylist knows her stuff, it been a while too see someone who cares about your hair not for a rush for a day but overall teaching you how to care for your hair everyday and weeks to come ❤
I love this type of video. It reminds me that I had to learn what was best for my hair. Up until lately society only has shown us how to straighten it. It takes a community, thank you curl friends and the natural hair community for all that you have taught me
Aww dang! I wish you could talk to locs well. It would have been awesome having you hair talk me when I was a little wee natural 😊 so glad that other natural loose hair women have you on these internet streets!! Go ahead and keep flourishing!!! ❤
wow, thank you. I notice that my natural hair has very littl bouce in the front. it's very straight and the back has that snap back. i used to do the twist hair for years and it looked so nice and shinny. then i did some blow outs, still no chemicals, but the heat for the straight look. so now i know why i got the very straight in front, now i just go, get my hair washed and roller set and wrapped. no heat except under the dryer. i am waiting to see my full, full, full natural hair bounce back. because at one point my twist out natural curl looked very nice, now it doesn't. this was when no one was wearing twist out. i used to get so many compliments and it was just twisted up in a ponytail i used pink oil orginal only to get the shine. and air dry. but thank you for this info. it is well needed in the black girl, woman, child community.
Girl the WAY I’ve been trying to figure out what my hair needs. This was extremely helpful. Part of my hair is springy and then most of the top layers are not. I just figured it was a moisture issue but now I see it’s a protein issue. Thank you so much!
Wow, I am thoroughly impressed by how you relayed your knowledge & am grateful to you for sharing. I was glued in from the beginning to the end. And just like that, my hair problem was diagnosed. Hydration problem✔️. Thank you for educating.
I have 2 types of hair patterns in my hair the back is tight curls and the front is loose curls and I’ve been natural of over 10 years and I didn’t need to do the big chop! I literally trimmed it every few months in the beginning until my perm was gone! I say all this to say you don’t have to go and cut all your hair off and stick to a hair routine that works for you 💯
That's why I cut mine off a little at a time; after each wash day, instead of doing a hugh chop at once. It did take about a year to get rid of the last of the color. Now I can do wash 'n gos and AMAZING twist-outs. Now hair growth has excelled as well! The Stylist is 💯% correct!!
You are AMAZING!!!! TMH has gave you your passion and thank you for this nugget of information because it explains a lot and I now know that my hair is healthier than I actually thought, lol. Thank You!!! Stay blessed and a blessing!!!!
Well said sweetheart! I wear my head shaved now, but I just wanted to give you your flowers for how informative you are. You also should know your delivery was AMAZING! ❤
I like how you tell exactly what to do and when you said it’s the hair not the product! I have so much stuff and I honestly thought it was the product! Thank you
Yes!! Products are made to be used on hair that is balanced with moisture and protein. If the hair isnt in that state, the product just wont work correctly.
This was an excellent explanation, and it helped me to diagnose the issues going on in my own aging virgin hair. I know I have a moisture issue, but I just learned. I also have a protein issue. Thank you so much for teaching us this.
New subscriber! I appreciate the way you speak to the perspective of the client in terms of adjusting to the recommendations and expertise of the stylist who identifies the barriers to healthy, flourishing hair and solutions that over time get the desired result. ❤
Yes!! I feel like its necessary to understand where each client is and meet them where they are all while educating them on what will lead to healthy hair and hair that matches their lifestyle.
Ohhhhh thank you so much . My hair has no spring anymore and I just couldn’t understand why, but thank you for this information. I can see that you know exactly what you’re talking about. The Lord bless you always

@@BL3SSed-Bliss Yeah, sure! I boil a few rosemary leaf strands, along with cloves, and let it sit over night, in the pot. Then I extract the strained water, into a spray bottle and massage my scalp with it. Of course, you want to have, another moisturizer, like shea butter, to keep your hair from drying out. The rosemary and clove water, is an extra addition. It naturally, prevents my hair, from falling out. After months, of leaving my hair, in a protective style, on wash day, barely any hair is lost...
