    I just wanted to add, because I see you're not using a base coat prior to applying Builder gel and that is a MUST especially because I see you are also not using a primer. A primer definitely helps, but you don't have to use it, however you do have to use base coat. It is what helps the builder gel stick to your nail and not peel off. The primer does the same thing....it's like an additional step to help the Builder Gel not peel. I just wanted to add this because I wanted the new people watching this video to know the importance of using a Base coat when applying Builder Gel.

      Hmmm, I have these products and I go in straight with the builder gel too. No base. I have no issues with peeling or lifting 🤷‍♀️ Currently I have had my builder gel on for 2 weeks without changing anything.

      Some of these builder gels have a base already in it too, such as luminary, their whole line can be used as a base first and then build. I believe the brand she is using is the same as it says builder base 🙂

      great reply that you left. I was thinking the same thing but based on others reply I see that this product AIMELE IS A BUILDER BASE built into the gel like a 2 in 1 product. I always use YN first as my primer just for added protection. its my personal preference.

    I just wish my natural nails looks like yours. I have the weakest most ridged nails. If they do grow they rip they crack, and I get lines that go up the side of my nail and then they literally split. They are horrible. I have tried everything under the sun since I was a young woman of your age trying every product and vitamins and nothing works. Yet my toe nails a normal and much thicker then my finger nails. In order to put dip powder over my nails I have to add full cover tips. I don’t even like long nails but I would just love a nice short length . My nails look like I bite them and I have NEVER bit my nails in my life. I am very envious your nails are beautiful!!

      Jessica I know this is awhile after you asked this question, so I'm not sure if you will see this, but I just wanted to let you know that you never use a primer when dipping...you only use a primer with gel products. If you are using gel, even if you are just using a gel polish, for added adherence it is a good idea to use a primer.....however you never use a primer when your dipping. The most important part of getting your dip to last is your prep. If you have a good prep routine then your dip will last. If you do a search on how to prep when dipping, you will find hundreds of how to videos. Hope this helps and hope you see this.

    I never use peel base so I'd like to see more videos where you don't use it. On a clean nail, after prep, I'm going to try applying one thin coat of base coat (that comes with dip kits), then do builder with the powder. I did a fill with gel top coat (it was all I had) and powder and was amazed at how professional the fill looked.

    Great video - thank you! I’ve been wanting to use my builder gel and have been a little apprehensive. I’m super sensitive to acetone, so I’m looking for a mani that I can reduce my soak off time significantly. I’m thinking using a builder gel and fill with peel base would suit me, but I’m not sure how to remove. Sooo Question: How do you “pop off” the UNT peel base when you’re ready to change color?

    • @AmberRileysLife
      @AmberRileysLife  3 роки тому

      Unt peel base is almost too good. If any lifting happens at all its going to come right off. It basically creates a layer between your nail and the builder get and when you get a tool in there to create a little lift it will just come right off. I actually have a video on peel base on my channel if you want to see how I applied and removed.

    • @AmberRileysLife
      @AmberRileysLife  2 роки тому +1

      Yes! If you wipe the tacky layer from the builder gel so it's smooth then apply a layer of peel base over your builder gel then dip over the just dried peel base then you should be able to reuse your builder gel for a second dip application. Depending on how well I seal the dip over the peel base, I usually get about a week of wear.

      You can either top it and cure it or you can just wipe with alcohol. The shiney, slick top coat might make your peel base work even better so you may not get as much wear out of it that way. I'll have to try both methods out and report back after testing.

      No stupid questions... A sub bag is a subscription bag. I subscribe to sparkle and Co and for $30 a month I get a little mystery surprise bag of nail goodies in the mail each month. There are different levels and types. It's a fun little monthly surprise if it's in your budget.

    I’m seriously interested in this builder gel, I’ve used gel polish many times but they always end up chipping and peeling. Does this brush on builder gel have more longevity do you think?

    • @AmberRileysLife
      @AmberRileysLife  2 роки тому +1

      Yes! It hardens much more than regular gel and it bonds the gel polish to the builder gel so it lasts so much longer for me! It's definitely worth a try for the price point. This is my most repurchased product hands down.

    Good video & tips with one exception…Lamp wattage matters to properly cure gel. “Any lamp will work” is not correct.

    Loving this video, nails turned out so pretty. Would you mind sharing what the color of the dip powder is plz?. I see the number 142 on the sample stick they sent you but when I check for that number on the website, it doesn't match up with the color you have. I love the color...looks like the perfect nude

      Yes, it's a sub bag color so it's not available for purchase on the site but I can suggest 'woke up like this' from sparkle and Co and it's a very similar nude color. Thanks so much for watching ♥

    • @AmberRileysLife

      It is really comparable to clear dip powder. Once you cure it, it does harden. You can use it to build extensions. I use it to fix broken nails and I've made extensions out of it and it works great!

      I just wanted to let you know that you never use a primer with dipping products because it will mess with your dip. The only time you use a primer is if you're using gel products. In order to make your dip mani last, you need to prep really good. If you don't know what prep is just do a search on UA-cam.... "How to prep before using Dip powder". You will see hundreds of videos showing you how. One person that I can recommend that you watch would be Kates Nail korner....she gives accurate info and is very knowledgeable. Hope this helps!!

    Can you use acetone to get the stickiness of the builder gel off or does it have to be alcohol ?

    • @AmberRileysLife
      @AmberRileysLife  3 роки тому +4

      Acetone is used to remove it so I think it would eat right through the builder gel so I would stick with the alcohol.

    Aren’t you meant to wipe the Activator ‘before’ putting the brush back in the bottle for the next nail application, so you don’t accidentally put any loose dip powder (off your nails) in the activator bottle, as it will harden in the bottle.?

    • @AmberRileysLife
      @AmberRileysLife  3 роки тому

      Solidify. It's your step three in the dip process. Solidify is what activates your dip powder and hardens it.

    • @AmberRileysLife
      @AmberRileysLife  3 роки тому +1

      The dip powder process requires the base step (the glue) the solidify step (the hardener) and the top coat (the seal). You could also do the gel method where you use gel base coat to pickup the dip powder and then cure it with a lamp. I myself have never experimented with the gel method with dip powder. However you can watch my nails Playlist for more dip powder tutorials! Lots of good info for beginners.
