- I’ve been writing quite a few songs lately about the general idea of making your own decisions and individualism. Those are certainly not new ideas but for many reasons, I think they are ideas that I really need to hear & embrace at this age & stage of my life and music career. Also, any time you can make a reference to Joan Jett and The Who in the first verse, it’s probably gonna be a fun song :)
I did the usual on this effort and recorded all the instruments, vocals, mixed and produced this song myself in my basement home studio but I did get the song professionally mastered. I often put my own mastering chain together for my recordings but lately, I’ve been quite pleased with the mastering work that others have been doing on my songs. Also in true Nashville fashion, this song was not one I wrote by myself but a co-writing effort with myself & three others. I met Alex Haddad & Larry Florman over at their East Nashville studio along with Smith Curry one afternoon and this song was the result. Alex & Larry have a great band called, Them Vibes and they are staples in the Nashville rock & funk scenes. It’s always a pleasure to connect with more and more of the music people in Nashville outside the edges of the traditional country machine that the town is known for. From what I’ve discovered, Music City is THICK with talent in any kind of music you might want. I think it just might be the best place in the world for me.
This and all my other songs can be found on Spotify or any of the other streaming platforms. I get asked about CD’s from time to time but at this point, I only have plans to release songs digitally. I’ve got lots more to come so thank you very much for all of your interest and support. I’m 16 years old, and I want to be a professional musician when I grow up. I try to play many instruments but the one that I feel most at home on is a drum set. I would say the only thing that impresses me more than a great musician is a great songwriter so I also spend much of my time trying to learn the magic of songwriting. I thought it would help me keep focused on music if I started a drum series where I learned a new song every couple of weeks. After 6 years, it’s now turned into a larger musical search but my goal hasn’t changed. Hopefully, I will keep doing it, keep loving music and keep getting better.

I totally agree. Glad to have found this video...as the only complaint I had about Mia's AFT audtion, during which that she did a piece of this song with live looping, was too short. Like you, I can't get this song out of my head! All wishes for Mia to go far in the music "biz".

Mia is Just an alien from Planet Musik right next to planet Inohow2writthebstmusfoedawrld. her brain must be getting vibs from some of the best writers all st the same time haha. She is even a crossover artist I mean everyone no matter what they listen to would listen to her. 12 in my family from 6 to 51 already love her music and they only listen to country and a few metalheads. That's a lot of sales so some huge label has to give her a 30 percent and no 360 deal and lets her keep atleast 50 percent ownership of her masters.... I know that sounds impossible but she is that good...

I would day bigger than Billy. Billy in my opinion has no talent compared to this girl. Then again I really dislike Billy's music style so each to their own.
Ive stopped counting the number of times ive listened your agt audition at 50 times... There's just something about the groove and everything falling together perfectly without the studio quality. Gives it a nice retro edge to the melody and I ABSOLUTELY freaking love it.

Mia I'm almost speechless. I've watched it 3 times in succession and it's the real deal! Your performance has the energy of The Donna's and your quirky style reminds me a little of Alanis. The video is you to a tee. Twists and turns along the way with never a dull moment. Way back I would have thought you would go on to become a successful drummer, perhaps doing session work or touring with a big act, you're certainly proficient enough. Then came the branching out into guitar, bass and keyboards. And of course the vocals. I think you can pretty much do whatever you want right now, how your musical career turns out, is up to you and you alone. The choices are there. Keep right at it because you are going places!
