- I have uploaded classic video of the St. Petersburg Chamber Choir but paired with the higher quality audio from the CD. We have a strong oktavist section led by Vladimir Pasyukov, down to A1.

This is the closest thing I’ve ever heard to what I imagine it might be. And, of course, the limits of my human imagination preclude me from possibly imagining even 1/10th of what that all encompassing, pure peace, love, and light would imbue to the voices of the cherubim and the seraphim. But, I pray that I might one day be blessed to hear it, sinner that I am.

Of all the music in the world, Russian sacred vocal music has a very special place in my heart. They just do something with melody and harmony which makes me feel so touched by the divine. I'm very grateful for Russia's contribution to music, and I'm saddened that there's so much strife between our nations these days.

I am a Catholic and I absolutely admire this chant. I love Gregorian chants and other Catholic stuff, but Orthodox chants are a whole new level to me. I love this.

I’m Orthodox. These sacred chants always bring me closer to my faith and culture. They bring about images of candles, icons, incense and communion. Just beautiful.

Though it was recorded about 24 years ago, I think this remains the best version of "We Praise Thee." I know there are more recent ones, but the choral balance and poise captured here remains unmatched. Thanks for the upload!

the version by the tenebrae choir comes in close, with amazing intonation and quality of recording. however the bass section cannot be compared with pasjukov even thought they are quite capable. but that's just my opinion

God is probably not a distinct entity creating and controlling the universe, but rather the very nature of existence, an infinite and necessary substance. In this perspective, some might interpret that even those who consider themselves atheists could, unknowingly, adhere to a conception of God. I like to think that all the different religions that men practice refer to the same thing in the end. I have always found the existence of several religions in this world quite strange.

Exactly. This fragment is sung at the Russian Orthodox liturgy before Communion, when the priest reads a prayer and the Holy Spirit descends to bless the bread and wine.
Really. I cannot fathom how heavenly this chant is. I couldn't completely describe this as heavenly as it is more heavenly than it is. This is the chant of what heaven is like in your dream. It is really sounding like it's being chanted by angels. This is my most favourite chant so far.

I have been a fan of the St. Petersburg Chamber Choir and Nikolai Korniev for decades, and I have a growing suspicion that they are not simply a group of musicians but some cosmic musical nexus of God-given talent and something else that no human language possesses the vocabulary to describe, let alone define. The SPCC's Korniev era is positively the zenith of music produced on planet Earth.

I listened to the choir with Vladimir Miller, also profundist. We all thought that the church will colapse, wooden bench were shaking out of that deep and strong vibrations.
