Russian choirs, especially male. have a power, an emotion, a beauty and the vocal skills that make their performances feel like they are giving the audience their souls, as if telling an intense personal story in the most beautiful way possible, the human voice.
I first came across this video in 2008 at the age of 16 and it really impacted me. I've come for years back to this video, it has such power.... It's like therapy. It's incredible. I just had a son last year and I will play him this song and hope he finds a taste for real soul music such as this. Cheers from Canada.

To me, and I hope not to offend or start some discussion about the topic, to me religion is some personal hobby, it is equivalent to a favorite sports club. Meaning it is very real for those who encourage the club each saturday on a rainy football field. It gives real emotions but does not contain any truth other than shared by those believing that this year, this year we will become european champion or something similar. But it helps if you have great club music. And this chap can belt out a tune like few others.

Simply amazing - I cannot reconcile the beauty of what our Russian brethern sing and promote with the antagonism of the West towards Russia. There is something trully divine in the practice and promotion of the Christian faith.
Visited Moscow and visited St. Basils when I heard this choir and was instantly drawn to find where it was coming from. Felt I was home in place with God , truly Spiritual experience , I have their CD as a remembrance. ☦️ USA

I am an atheist and I don't understand what he says ,but man I enjoyed it and it gives me the same chills I got when I watched it 6 years ago ,pure beauty .art and talent unite everybody.
I'm an atheist as well, and the Russian Orthodox Church is probably my favorite church due to the culture, art, and expecially the music. When I have trouble sleeping, I always listen to this, or if I'm worried. It calms your emotions and it works very well. I applaud the mucisians of this art
How can one not understand that we as man and woman have been created by a hand that is beyond our understanding. This music as it was composed and here performed is meant to convey a part of our existence that is beyond our understanding, but shows that they still exist...that is the essence of faith.

I'm an atheist as well, and the Russian Orthodox Church is probably my favorite church due to the culture, art, and expecially the music. When I have trouble sleeping, I always listen to this, or if I'm worried. It calms your emotions and it works very well. I applaud the mucisians of this art

How can one not understand that we as man and woman have been created by a hand that is beyond our understanding. This music as it was composed and here performed is meant to convey a part of our existence that is beyond our understanding, but shows that they still exist...that is the essence of faith.

Though I am not religious at all, I find this music to be magnificent. I highly respect the Russian Orthodox Church because of their beauty. Their architecture and music is what makes the atmosphere grand and unique.
In my opinion, I find this to be much better then modern christian music.

Said her late dad, Wim, was a believer. And that she was named after him. Together we lit a candle for the repose of his soul and asked the Holy father to mention him in prayer. By the way, if you say in Russia that you are "Datch" then everyone will think that you are Danish. In Russia we call the Dutch "Hollanders". 🙈
