- This year was our best year for canning to date, so let's go on a tour of our pantry and show you what we have! Not only do we show you what we have in our pantry but we touch on a couple of cost-saving tips which we will delve into more in an upcoming video! For now, sit back and relax as we take you on a guided tour of our pantry explaining what we canned, why we canned it, and what we use it for!
We hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching!

I'm 48years old living in California, am hoping to retire at 50 if things keep going well for me. Bought my first house last month and I can't be more proud that am i now. Am glad i made great decision about my finances that change me forever
Way to go, good for you!
Crypto staking. Investment and Trading are three different things entirely. This is also one of the best time to be involved.... I learnt a lot with these platform, make sure to only deal with established firms for your safety.

@@isabellamarcoswitt Great idea been put up to you but ignorance won't let you take the opportunity.
Isn't ignorance but due to unprofessionalism in crypto/forex market
We have used the cowboy candy for jerky, chicken, deer steaks and rabbit thighs. So many great uses for it.
Great ideas!
Great video! I use vacuum sealing in jars for long term storage for all dry ingredients. I bought the jar sealers separately from roots & harvest. I absolutely love them
Great idea! We will try that 😀
Green tomatoes will ripen in the house. I had an early frost, brought in alllll the green tomatoes and left them in trays. Over the next 6 weeks, I kept pulling what was ripe and ended up with 4 more gallon bags to put in the freezer until I processed them into 34 jars of bbq sauce for us. Last year I did green tomato salsa, and we love that as a marinade for pork roast in the crock pot. Pull the meat, put on tacos, etc. So good!
We had so many green tomatoes , there would have been tote bins everywhere! Haha so we went with green salsa and it was awesome . Would definitely make again! 🍅
great video. a lot of work went into preparing all that food I love your focus on the cost savings and using the discount racks at the grocery stores.
Discount racks at the grocery store are my favourite! You never know what they’re going to have on there 🍅 🥒 🧅
I use my cowboy candy brine to make the next batch, or I add it to my thinly sliced venison or beef, when I'm making jerky, makes a sweet spicy jerky
The jerky sounds delicious! We have some venison, we will have to try that! Thanks 😀
Once, I bought a giant bag of discount bananas from Walmart for $1. At the cash, the sticker wouldnt work and the cashier ended up just pushing them through, so...free! I love a deal!
Wow! That’s awesome. We do love a good deal , free is always better though haha 🍌
I like your reasonable canning amount. I did 225-250 this, my first year. It nice to see a yield that isn't 1500+ jars...
This amount works for us, no need for us to have thousands of jars . Good for you on your first year of canning! 😀
I store my opened pasta in 1 qt. Mason jars. I vacuum seal using my jar sealer! Works great!
What a great idea! We will try that, as you can see we have a whole lot of extra 1 litre jars haha!
We use our leftover brine for pickled eggs and deviled eggs. Soo good!!
Deviled eggs ! What a good idea 🥚
As pasta noodles are a dried food, I don't think you have to package them specifically for long term. Your store bought pasta will be fine in the package that it comes in.
Thanks for the information! We will keep that in mind once we decide what our final solution will be! Thanks for watching!
You can vaccum seal your dry goods and store them in buckets. Keeps it fresh and pest out. Love your videos. Thank you.
Great idea! We will look into that! Glad you’re enjoying the videos 😀
You guys gave me a great idea for shelving thank you 😊 that’s just spruce 2x4s by the looks of it cheaper lumber, I need a smaller version of your shelf design for my space.
Good video!
Yep it’s just spruce 2x4 and it works great for us! Glad you enjoyed the video 😀
Рад вас снова видеть! Как всегда, очень интересно и познавательно! Привет вам из России! 👍
Добро пожаловать обратно! Всегда приятно иметь тебя. Еще раз спасибо за просмотр! 🙏🏼
I don't have any grocery stores in my area that offer a 50 % discount. Sure wish I did. I enjoyed your video. You have nice storage shelves.
That’s too bad that they don’t offer discounted produce in your area☹️ glad you enjoyed the video though ! 😀
Great setup very versatile.n the money saving is the most important awesome job 👌
The money saving is very important! Thanks for watching 😀

Cowboy candy brine is excellent for marinating chicken. I make extra and can it all.
Great idea!
Yes you can.
Can do
all you need now is an underground bunker....I mean "root cellar"
Happy Holidays from Rochester NY
Happy holidays to you too! 😀
I believe I've seen Simple Living Alaska use their leftover cowboy candy brine for salmon!
Yum! That sounds good! Thanks for the idea! :)
The brine can be used to marinate chicken and pork then grill.
Great idea! We will try that 👩🍳 👨🍳
Hi there, enjoying watching from New Zealand. The pantry looks great… you mentioned you are a family of 5 but I’ve only ever seen the two of you, but did notice the trampoline :)
You’re the first person to mention the trampoline! Haha thanks for joining us again 😊
@@living.different my son Said maybe the adults just like jumping on the trampoline 😆
@@Nana2threeNZ sometimes we do haha 😀
I make bbq with the juice from cowboy candy
@@kellymueller9818 that’s such a great idea!
I can/use my leftover brine or liquid for my jalapeño Cowboy Candy 💗
That’s what ours is leftover from! Do you save it for the next season to use? That would be a good idea 😀
🇦🇺I have my pasta, spaghetti, sugar, salt, semolina, flour all in 5 gallon food grade buckets with gamma lids.
Great idea! Thanks for sharing 😀
Wow….so impressive 🤙
Thanks! 😀
Fabulous video! Just to let you know if your interested Wallaby has been having some good sales on mylar bags with oxygen absorbers and stick on labels. Great bags 7.5 ml thick on both sides!
Awesome! Thanks for the tip 😀
Yes it for BBQ sauce
What store do you go to that has a 50% off rack? I live in Florida, so it may not be here, but just in case. i LOVE your channel!!
We are in Canada 🇨🇦 and I pick up groceries at No Frills. I’m not sure if you have that in Florida but sometimes chain stores have discount sections in the produce area 😀
Could you pickle eggs in your cowboy candy brine??
That’s a great question and a great use for brine if that would work! I will look into that , we didn’t even think of that 🥚
Hi there. Any chance of getting you to share your cider recipe here. I’d love to have it but am not on any other social media. ❤
Yep of course! I’ll just copy and paste it :
🍎 Here is the EASIEST apple cider recipe you’ll ever use! You will need:
* About 10 apples
* 3/4 cup sugar
* 1 Tbsp cinnamon
* 1 Tbsp ground all spice
* Water to cover 2 inches above apples
Bring all ingredients to a boil uncovered for about an hour.
Put the lid on and simmer for another 2 hours.
Strain out chunks and then strain again through cheese cloth. Fresh apple cider, it’s really that simple. You can then process it in half pint jars for individual servings and water bath for 15 minutes. It will last on the shelf for up to two years!
@@living.different thank you so much!! I’m going to give this a go. I always thought
I needed a press. 🤷♀️
@@Mel-vu9ss I didn’t use one and it worked fine ! 🍎 good luck, let us know how it turns out
@@living.different one more question please. I’m still watching your pantry tour. Lol. Had to tend to my dogs. Anyway, your maple syrup is on the pantry shelf? Do you actually can it to make it shelf stable? I buy by the gallon pour into pints but store in my extra fridge. I’d love to have it on my shelf. Thanks so much for all your responses!!
I HAVE HAD UNICO CANS BULGE ON ME.
Thanks for the tip! We usually buy what's on sale! Thanks for watching
Rad
Your ready for the apocalypse,!
Better to have too much than not enough! Haha
