Delicious Store-cupboard Chilli | Keep Cooking & Carry On | Jamie Oliver

- Who doesn't love a good chilli recipe? This is my store-cupboard chilli, working around what you've got in your cupboards to mix-and-match for ultimate flavour! Beans, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, peppers... use whatever you've got. Fry some cinnamon, cayenne pepper (or paprika), and cumin, and combine with the natural sugars in the onion for an incredibly fragrant curry paste. So good!

I made this today for my family and even my brother, who hates chickpeas and sweet potatoes, said it was delicious.
Plus, if you're sick or have a cold, it definitely helps to get through it. Thank you Jamie, I love this!
I LOVE this recipe! When I want something full of vegetables and bright taste, I cook either this one or beef ale stew. It’s so quick (in terms of preparing ingredients) and tasty, just can’t get enough of enjoying this food. Thank you!
You are always going to enjoy such meal 😋
You are already a legend. For your battle for healthy food in schools you have my respect forever
He cooks everything the wrong way haiya😂
@@ShaunThomas-gy6fg you need to teach hime then
a legend?Lol he is a joker
Well he made it WAY TOOO healthy, i mean be honest would you eat a Food with Bunch of LOT of VARIOUS Vegatables mixed in one dish? For all we know, he even included "Healthy" ingredients that does not even go well together.
@@Memesifoundonfacebookwtf r u on about? Talking so much crap 🤦🏻♂️
Yum. Always the best and most accessible cooking., I like how you remind people not to stress about whatever substitutions they may have to make. Relax and enjoy cooking everyone!❤
That is the best way 😅
OmG Jamie, I think I can smell it!!😉 I'll definitely try it out tomorrow! You are fantastic, I love your veggie recipes!❤ lovely greetings from Germany, Ulli 🤗🫶🏼🌟
me too from Munich
Haiya😂
I love it ! Easy, good dinner for family. 👍
In Peru it would be like a beef stew, we don't use sweet potato, but I do use sweet potato, it gives it a special touch. Excellent recipe and very nutritious. And Peruvians always accompany it with rice.
Your personality compliments the great tips and lovely recipe; never change who you are...
Thank you for the compliment 🌷 you should try being yourself too 😊
@@chef-JamieTrevor You are welcome. We both have the same birthday month/day, however the Universe didn't bless me with cooking skills like you. Your creative work of art with food is truly amazing to watch. Continued blessings for you and your family...

That's a very hearty looking dish. Cheers, Jamie! 👍🏻👍🏻✌️

Looks delish Jamie! Practical, healthy cooking for everyone 👍🏾
What I like is " whatever you have on hand". Jamie, know it or not, you are showing people to survive. You did it during the pandemic but it seems that some have not learned the lesson. Thanks for your continued insistence on proper nutrition vs cultural appropriation.
Would love this series with Italian food!
Fantastic, thank Jamie. Looks so good
Awesome Jamie. Thank you 🙏🏻
Just saying Hi Jamie! I remember your video on nuggets and McDonald's many years ago. I was teen at time, it hasn't left my mind ever since. I think you were one of the first that talked about how unhealthy mcdonalds is. Occasionally it pops up in my mind, I was wondering what you were doing now. Glad to see that you are active on here. Wishing you and your family blessings before leaving! Keep it up!
Hello, its so nice reading through your comments. Thanks for your love and support. I'd like to know where you're from.
"Chili"
Laughing in Texan.
Yet you’re still here watching the video
I invented a delicious chili when my husband didn't want cooked tomatoes or beef at night. Shredded zucchini, shredded Calabasa squash, whatever squash you have on hand actually… sautéed and salted and seasoned with a little bit of oregano and cumin and homemade chili ajo made from bird peppers aka chiltepin (A native hot pepper in our area that is perennial if it's in a protected area - Basically roasted garlic and Bird peppers sautéed in EVOO until they are a dry-ish condiment. ) Add the wet stuff which is going to either be finely chopped up tomatillos and some lime juice and YES! The stems of the cilantro's/coriander! or prepared green salsa (I like Herdez mild green sauce). Equally, you could put tomatillos, lime juice, a little hot pepper, and some broth into a blender and create a fast sauce to go over your chili.
If you aren't going vegan/vegetarian, mix with cooked turkey or chicken torn into pieces or ground, and cook it to let the Flavors mingle. Then, season further to taste.
Serve with a sprinkle of cilantro for the vegans, and a dab of sour cream or yogurt and maybe some shredded cheese for the rest of us With the cilantro on top. People look at it suspiciously because it's green.
that sounds delish. thank you for taking the time to write it out.
@@linebrunelle1004 I can't believe I forgot to put onion! Thank you for thanking me so I could add that 😂😂😂. I sauté finally cut strips of onion before I add the squash, after it is slightly caramelized!
lovely delicious recipes 😍😍😋😋
Thanks buddy.
You're golden.
I made it, but added some chorizo. Can recommend :)
You will always be my culinary hero ❤
Huh cinnamon in Chili 🤔 . What a unique change in flavor. I need to try that. Thank you

It’s better than the chili I usually make; the lime juice and cinnamon added a surprising amount of depth.

He’s not dead, why would you forget him? 😂
Wow Amazing chili Recipe+1 👍😋😋❤
I'm not complaining, but isn't this like the fourth video he's made for this recipe? 😊
Sounds like a complaint 😊
You seem to be doubting if you can count 😂
I need cooks in the hotels to make Turkish meals whenever we want. But I can't deal with telling about how to make them. 🙄😊 Especially what I love is known. But if I were you I'd learn all of them.

Only store cupboard ingredients would be interesting as well 😀
Very delicious 🤤
Looking gorgeous ❤❤❤
Amo este canal y las recetas increíbles, lastima que sigo cocinando Maruchan o Ramen 🥴
Jamie ты лучший.с любовью из России. Продолжай. Я твой фанат. ❤
Delicious! Made it exactly as instructed. However next time I'd use less spice. Whether it was the cayenne or the fresh chili's, something made it VERY spicy. 🌶
i cannot find the recipe on your website
Super video 😄
Excellent way to incorporate veggies and beans......for the non meat eaters and the nice alternative for the meat eaters.....
Hi Oliver All in how Village FOOD Bowl I Like this Garden Veggie ❤❤👍 Not Stop big Portion

Aaaaw! You've made Turkish meal Jamie, kuru fasulye pilav.

I haven’t seen a chili recipe without meat before
Jamie Olive Oil
A portion like this requires 6 chilli 🌶️ to start with
what kind of chili do you recommend?
For Basmati rice: 1 1/2 chips of water to1 cup of rice. Too much water and the rice goes mushy; especially with Basmati...
I dont like to use the liquid of the beans and peas tin. Your Chilli looks graet.😋
Hello, its so nice reading through your comments. Thanks for your love and support. I'd like to know where you're from.
Yuuuuummmmm 🎉
Jamie, please remove the tin lids completely otherwise wildlife the likes of seagulls get the legs caught and cut in them. I love chilli too.
Squash your tins flat before throwing them in the bin
recycle! wth
Круто!)
why does he only use white rice, i find it too empty tasting... dont mind 50/50 with brown tho
Some people avoid the brown rice because of the lectins aggravating their systems. Pretty sure that's why the Asians took the trouble to remove the brown part. They've done pretty good for a few millennia on white rice.
he says that. listen, don't judge
You can literally use whatever rice floats your boat. Anyway, white rice is meant to be used mixed in with other foods like Jamie made.
❤❤❤
Класс! Мы купили твой нож за 1 р 🔥спасибо!!!!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you for the love ❤️
This is not a chilli! On any level
too early with the garlic
I’m sure the richest chef in the world is thankful for your tips!
You need to wash your rice Jamie
nope.
@@linebrunelle1004 who the hell are you
In the UK rice comes pre-washed from the factory. Unless you buy huge sacks.
@@NoddyTronThe washing is to reduce the starch. They're not talking about washing to clean the rice.
@@kwoylee5617 Clean rice is a necessity. Cleaning rice to reduce starch is not a necessity and it's a personal choice.
👍🤗🤗
a dish called chilli, thats not spicy
did you really not wash the rice omg
I thought the same, but maybe his rice is pre washed 🤷♀️
@@achka2043 Countries like the UK, US, etc. have processing factories that takes care of the cleanliness of rice. Washing rice for hygiene reasons is only a thing when before rice washing was done before all this fancy tech was invented. Adam Ragusea has a good video on it. Nowadays, it's a matter of if you want more or less starch.
His recipes are good.. tho pricey..
Jamie ALWAYS says to use what's on hand, what is seasonal etc.
But his asian recipes suck

No one puts chili on rice hyiaaaa
Yummy 😋 🇦🇪
Ever heard of SOAS ?
This is DSOR !
This is not chili.
Ever heard of being flexible with whatever you have in your cupboards? Jamie wants people to get interested in cooking so his recipes are simple and healthy. They don’t have to be aithentic
This is not chili.
Sincerely,
Texas
Thank you. Why is he calling this chili? Not even close.
It’s supposed to be a take on chili for people who are learning to cook. He never says it’s authentic, it’s just a way of getting people interested in cooking, and being healthy. Don’t be to quick to judge. He has inspired millions around the world. Getting more people cooking and interested in food is what he’s about. We all know Texas so great chili. Well done!
I’m sorry but that is not chilli in any level
I like to wash my rice
You don't have to wash packaged rice because it is banned to sell unpasterised rice and grains in Europe without labeling that it wasn't. Secondly, I think, if you live in country using packeging methods from previous century, you shoul wash the rice.
No, only red kidney beans in chilli!!!
oh please . what do you do when you don't or can't get the "perfect" ingredients? oops, sorry fam, can't cook today
He forgot the meat.
NO. he says: add meat if you want.
Grow up.
Cooking garlic on medium to high heat for 10 to 15 mins is going to turn it bitter
I hope you’re a really, really good cook….. you obviously know better than the richest cook in the world! 🤷🏻♂️
How does your Chinese food taste so good? They cook on full chat!!!
Perhaps if it was cooked on its own, but with all the other ingredients in the pan it should be OK.
His businesses have been bankrupt a few times, and not paying his suppliers. He's a piece of sh*t.
Pwick
He didn't...wash the rice...
Yeesh.

@elunaselemine9781 Hygiene isn't necessarily what you wash rice for, although thank you for insinuating I live in some backwater (tell me you're a white person without telling me you're a white person I guess?). One should wash basmati rice to rinse off the excess starch on the rice. This makes the rice noticeably more fluffy once cooked.
@elunaselemine9781 My response to your comment was deleted, so here it is again:
Hygeine isn't necessarily what you wash rice for (although thank you for insinuating I live in some backwater where we don't get homogenized, packaged rice). It was because basmati rice are covered with excess starch. Washing it off makes for much better rice when cooked.
Rice comes pre-washed in the packet in the UK. Unless you buy big sacks you don't need to wash it.
No meat, no fun
he says: add meat if you want.......
Wow. This is just bad!!!!!
So, Mr. Cook,
are You a A-taster or a B-taster ?
and how would You know ?
The Chilli-Pain have No taste, it is just Pain,
there is not much taste in a tiny pepperfruit,
so its Not really a Spice.
Just saw the video of Uncle Rodgers and Uncle Guga. This guy is wack!!! I didn't even watch this video just came here to give a thumb down!!
