Car fires can reach to over 1500 degrees. While aluminum melts at 1220. Given how much oxygen was being fed by the wind to the fire, the melting cars isn't that much of a surprise. Water was not purposely kept from anyone. Two of the islands wealthiest and largest developers claim this in a craven maneuver to get water for their own properties. In neither case was it true that if that water had been diverted, it would have been able to be used in West Maui or UpCountry. As far as MCFD in Lahaina losing water, that was 1. Depressurization from all of the plumbing from burned buildings spilling water, and 2. No electricity to run pumps. Every. Single. Thing. That went wrong was predictable and had in fact been identified for years prior to this event. No off road firefighting equipment, no sounding of the alarm, no leadership on the island. No preventative fire fighting safeguards. Fire Dept was supposed to fight fires on three islands! I'm on The Big Island of Hawaii living on the west side so we're alot closer that hurricane Dora than Maui Lahaina was. How come there was NO WIND AT ALL this whole day and night. I walk my dogs every sunset and there was NO WIND. 🤔 AND LAHAINA FURTHER AWAY HAD HIGH WINDS. It doesn't make sense.
What is most important is not how the fire got started but how authorities responded or better stated how they failed to respond. That fire was so hot that it melted metal and glass in cars yet the roads look good and the trees still stand although the fires surrounded them, this makes no sense at all. A microcomputer can also be attached to the pump that activates it when it reaches a certain degree of temperature.
The fire burned for hours. How and where are you going to put a tank that big in everyone's house. They weren't expecting that when a fire happened that there would be no water.

There is a video floating around of someone tracking wind speeds of said super hurricane when it was near Baja and it was pulling max 65mph winds. Gusts not sustained if I’m not mistaken but even more maddening is it was almost on land it was so close with Baja registering 35mph sustained winds with gusts up to 50/60 all across the peninsula and video of palms blowing in the wind definitely but nothing near what they are saying. Now granted the hurricane probably gained a lot of energy as it pulled away from land out into the pacific but even then, 500 mi away I’m seeing winds yes. However in my opinion having lived in south east Florida and northwest Oregon a mile from the Pacific Ocean I can attest to the fact that at any beach on any large body of water there’s going to be constant strong winds generating from the vast openness and blowing in and all around even a ways inland and I guess I always kinda have considered it to be quite strong at least enough for the sand to blow horizontally and painfully making walking difficult. I never measured but I’m sure I would have guessed the wind strength was way higher than actually was because I have no reference with an accurate speed to recount so perhaps there’s an explanation for anyone who has not been around beachfront environments but for brief periods. But I also was wondering and hopefully there’s a fire expert that can answer this for me but don’t incredibly massive and hot fires generate their own powerful winds? Like could intense speed of the fire and perceived hurricane force winds have actually been caused by the fire itself? All the evidence of incredibly extreme temperature makes me wonder if that caused an extreme amount of hot wind to whip the fire across the island? The only question for me then becomes how exactly did the fire reach such extreme temperatures? Can someone identify exactly where that diesel fuel spill was I keep hearing about? In neither case was it true that if that water had been diverted, it would have been able to be used in West Maui or UpCountry. As far as MCFD in Lahaina losing water, that was 1. Depressurization from all of the plumbing from burned buildings spilling water, and 2. No electricity to run pumps. Every. Single. Thing. That went wrong was predictable and had in fact been identified for years prior to this event. These deaths are on every single person who failed to get these preparedness and mitigation measures done, and everyone who opposed them or ignored them or sought to exploit disaster like West Maui Land and Alexander & Baldwin.

I'm on The Big Island of Hawaii living on the west side so we're alot closer that hurricane Dora than Maui Lahaina was. How come there was NO WIND AT ALL this whole day and night. I walk my dogs every sunset and there was NO WIND. 🤔 AND LAHAINA FURTHER AWAY HAD HIGH WINDS. It doesn't make sense.

The wind was coming off the land, so it didn't have time to build up big waves. You can see how strong it was though in numerous videos.

What is most important is not how the fire got started but how authorities responded or better stated how they failed to respond. No emergency warning signals, no water to put out fires, no means of communication and worst was the orders given to police to revert escaping traffic back into town and into the fires. What happened to the children???
How is there supposed to be water to fight a fire when so many pipes have melted in the town that it is impossible to pressurize the hydrants? Generators were supplying electricity to the pumps. But it was impossible to pressurize the hydrants.

That fire was so hot that it melted metal and glass in cars yet the roads look good and the trees still stand although the fires surrounded them, this makes no sense at all. Also why did anything blue not burn, including umbrellas, there is definitely something sinister here . I pray that these poor people that lost everything, including loved ones gets some truth. One of the possible system is a number of sprinklers installed around the properties and connected to a system of water tanks and pumps. The sprinklers can be activated remotely when needed. A microcomputer can also be attached to the pump that activates it when it reaches a certain degree of temperature.
The fire burned for hours. How and where are you going to put a tank that big in everyone's house. They weren't expecting that when a fire happened that there would be no water.

I added an unregulated full pressure 3/4'' water line to my back yard so that I can use the scotty Foam Gun and PhosChek cartridges to pre soak my house and hillside, then bail for safer ground and hope for the best. The street pressure is 115-120 psi. The garden hose pressure is under 40 psi. What a difference.

There is a video floating around of someone tracking wind speeds of said super hurricane when it was near Baja and it was pulling max 65mph winds. Gusts not sustained if I’m not mistaken but even more maddening is it was almost on land it was so close with Baja registering 35mph sustained winds with gusts up to 50/60 all across the peninsula and video of palms blowing in the wind definitely but nothing near what they are saying. Now granted the hurricane probably gained a lot of energy as it pulled away from land out into the pacific but even then, 500 mi away I’m seeing winds yes. However in my opinion having lived in south east Florida and northwest Oregon a mile from the Pacific Ocean I can attest to the fact that at any beach on any large body of water there’s going to be constant strong winds generating from the vast openness and blowing in and all around even a ways inland and I guess I always kinda have considered it to be quite strong at least enough for the sand to blow horizontally and painfully making walking difficult. I never measured but I’m sure I would have guessed the wind strength was way higher than actually was because I have no reference with an accurate speed to recount so perhaps there’s an explanation for anyone who has not been around beachfront environments but for brief periods. But I also was wondering and hopefully there’s a fire expert that can answer this for me but don’t incredibly massive and hot fires generate their own powerful winds? Like could intense speed of the fire and perceived hurricane force winds have actually been caused by the fire itself? All the evidence of incredibly extreme temperature makes me wonder if that caused an extreme amount of hot wind to whip the fire across the island? The only question for me then becomes how exactly did the fire reach such extreme temperatures? Can someone identify exactly where that diesel fuel spill was I keep hearing about? Could that have exponentially increased the temperature of the fire idk doesn’t make sense because surely the spill wasn’t all along front street in Lahaina.. so many unanswered questions I just can’t imagine being one of the poor souls directly affected by this and having to hear and see all of this while our clown show govt makes a mockery of the lives lost in this tragedy.
