My only grip with this Ock was how too much of his "Breaking Bad" was off screen but all else, his acting, personality, relationship with Peter. I would love to see this Ock as Superior Spider-Man.
I'd go with the 2017 animated series Doc Ock. The reason being is Otto Octavius is treated as a multifaceted character in that series. Most adaptions just have Otto go evil if he isn't already and he's just... a one note supervillain. WIth the 2017 series, we see Otto long before he becomes Doc Ock. We see what an arrogant twat the guy is, and how that transitions to a villain. Then, they manage to do the almost impossible and do the Superior Spider-Man storyline with him... and actually manage to do it RIGHT. Way way *way* better than the comics ever did. Then they gradually transition him to redeeming himself and dying in the end, in a way the comics Doc Ock could never make believable.
Crispin Freeman is a memorable VA. Other than Quinten Flynn and Alastair Duncan, he's the only major character Voice Actor in Metal Gear Rising Revengenace that I can remember without google. For context, Quinten Flynn is Raiden, the main character, and Alastair Duncan is Armstrong, the main villain. Crispin Freeman voices Sundowner, and by the lord is he perfect at it.
@@kinorris1709He’s also Masaharu Kaito in Judgment, which is a spinoff of Like a Dragon/Yakuza. I enjoyed his character development in the Kaito Files DLC too!
Nice vid! I personally think Spectacular’s Flash is the best, you get to see him gradually change from just Peter’s bully to an actual friend. The part where he confronts Peter when he had the symbiote is peak Flash imo
Rosemary Harris's performance in the Spider man trilogy is so iconic. Like you could not reminisce about these movies and without thinking of Aunt May.
All of my favorite adaptations of each character got your top spot or an honorable mention except one and that’s Uncle Ben in Spectacular Spider-Man. I don’t remember if he had any other appearances besides the symbiote arc but having Uncle Ben be the physical manifestation of Peter’s moral compass is everything Uncle Ben should be
I just recently played Neversoft's Spider-Man for my first time on Dreamcast a few years back, and yeah Venom is an absolute riot in that game. Dude had me cracking up the entire time. Honestly that game's story is just really cool with how they incorporate the wider Marvel universe, they should reimagine it imo.
I'm just gonna say it; My favorite adaptation of Black Cat is from the 90's Spider-Man TAS. Unlike all the other adaptations which make her feel like Marvel's Cat Woman, they made her a genuine partner to Spider-Man. Even the build up in their relationship before her becoming Black Cat was great. And her powers in this adaptation explained how a woman with natural platinum blonde hair, and a poor excuse of a mask, could hide her identity. The only problem was that their relationship was abruptly ended cause Peter x MJ was the end game. So they gave her a rushed Twilight ending. If not for that, perfect. I'm genuinely sad I'll never see another rendition of her that well done again.
Fun fact: James Cameron was going to make a Spider-Man movie in the 90s and the reason Sandman wasn't in the cartoon and Electro wasn't in it until much later is because they were going to be the main villains of that movie and the movie studio owned the rights to use them at the time.
Only Daredevil, besides sharing the same actor in Hawkeye he might as well have been a different character how goofy and incapable they made him in the short time span he actually appeared in.
@@Patrick-pc3vq he literally wasn't tho? Like I'm not sure if you people watched the same series as me because Kingpin in the Hawkeye was an absolute unit and wiped the floor with Kate until she found an opportunity to catch him off guard by sheer luck. He ripped off a fucking car door with his bare hands. That's how Kingpin is. Of course the show itself wasn't written very well and they sacrificed a good build up for a cheap reveal at the end of 5th episode and ultimately they ended up deleting a lot of very good scenes. But Kingpin's portrayal itself was still goated, of course the show had a different tone, what do you expect, him to act exactly the same way he did in Daredevil series while it doesn't fit the tone of the show at all? Also the show made clear that he lost quite a bit of his power in the crime world during the blip and was trying to rebuild his criminal empire. Was it written well? Meh, not very much. But it was still the Kingpin straight out of comic pages.
@@ozyyy009 To each their own but i didn't like Kingpin in Hawkeye, i'm aware he's a threat in the comics that even Spider-man himself has a hard time with but it seemed in the show as he went down too easily, as soon as he himself got involved in trying to stop Kate and Clint he literally immediately got bested which just makes him seem weak and not a threat at all.
Im surprised you didn’t give spiderverse Gwen an honorable mention. I know she’s inherently a bit more interesting because she’s a spider person but in general I’ve never been as invested into Gwen as much as in spiderverse personally
I agree she’s gotta be the best adaptation of the character in terms of investment, but maybe he didn’t pick her because she’s more “Spider-Gwen” than “Gwen Stacy”
@@yourfatboy5359 thats just the nature of adaptation, what’s the point of adapting something if you don’t expand upon different aspects of a character? Hence my opinion she’s the most interesting Gwen Stacy I’ve seen
The reason I didn’t was because spider Gwen is a completely different Gwen. I could’ve included spider Gwen as well but she’s has Spiderverse, 2017 show and a kids tv show. Too much of a layup lmao. Probably should’ve added 2099 tho
My introduction to Electro was in Spiderman 2 for the original PlayStation where he was the main villain. Which meant I was surprised when he turned out to be a low tier character in the comics and most other adaptations. Meaning that game was probably his crowning moment.
I see jk Simmons as jjj always, even when he's not playing him, like in whiplash, where I imagine he's so mad because he's not getting pictures of spider-man, and he takes his anger out on his jazz students. I think I'm really onto something here.
It's not like there's many contenders to "№1 Morbuis" spot. I can only remember two other Morbius's, one didn't even suck blood, and the other is fucking Jared Leto.
Im glad more people are starting to realise that Andrew is the best Spidey, he may be not the best Peter, but when he puts on the mask, he is 120% accurate webslinger.
@@Mushess I would consider Tom Holland to be the best Peter, Tobey is nerdy, but looks too old Andrew has moments when hes too cool Tom has a good balance of being nerdy and cool in Peter's way
@@Hyp333R I actually semi agree, I do think my like of him as Peter is based in nostalgia. But I also think he has a lot of qualities that Peter from the comics has. But I think Tom has the best Peter I just prefer Andrews performance.
@@Hyp333R I think Tobey is a terrible Spider-Man and Peter. I think it's mostly his voice. Tobey sounds perpetually miserable, even when Peter is supposed to be happy. I know Peter's life generally sucks, but Tobey sounds like he's 5 seconds away from blowing his own brains out every time he talks.
I actually prefer Spectacular Goblin. Willem Dafoe is amazing of course, but the WRITING in Spectacular is more interesting to me (and they also have two spectacular - pun intended - performances from Alan Rachins and Steve Blum, the guys I hear when I read the comics). Also, while Spectacular Rhino isn't exactly sympathetic, he is voice by Clancy Brown, so... yeah, that version is great. I just really like Spectacular haha.
Great list. And yes I did pick up the pitchforks sometimes, but I also put them down as I continued watching. Haha. Again, Great list. Also to me, Neil Patrick Harris and Christopher Daniel Barnes are my iconic spidey voice actors. My honourable mentions are Josh Keaton and Jake Johnson from the Spiderverse movie are also great. Speaking of the Spiderverse movie, even though it's only my first introduction to the character, Oscar Issac as Spider-man 2099 is so fricken good. Him in that scene on the futuristic train going up to the moon trying to catch Miles...Goddamn.
The next Spiderman DLC could bring a peak Carnage. Rather than just a serial killer, him being the leader of a doomsday death cult sounds insanely interesting.
Honestly a Harry Osborn video would be cool, I'm not really familiar with how he's fully is in the comics but the way you describe him reminds me of how I feel adaptations tend to only ever get half of Venom right
I'm reading original TASM comic and I can say that the adaptations haven't touched the potential of Harry's comic counterpart. His arc is one of my favourites. Tho I haven't completed it, I can say it's still gonna be a banger.
Its not even half to be honest. Both Eddie and the symbiote start as anti-villains (with a unique trait of ONLY trying to kill Peter not his loved ones for revenge because May and MJ are innocent) and slowly grow through most of the anti-hero types before becoming full on heroes. How good? Eddie is worthy of not only Thor's hammer but the honor of being Captain Universe. Just like how responsibility is Peter's thing redemption is Eddie's.
Loved your takes. Your channel is definitely one of my best finds in 2023. I really like your content and the positivity you spread in the Spidey fandom. Keep up the awesome work!
I would say the 2003 series version of Kraven had potential if they kept going. His design and voice was awesome. As for Electro, 2003 show was the best and tragic version of the character and honorable mention was his Spectacular counterpart
We gotta shout out two other versions of Jonah, though. Ed Asner in the 90s series is pretty much what Simmons’ version is directly based on, and Darren Norris’ take is basically a more cartoony version of the movie Jameson.
I do agree that Andrew Garfield Spiderman is the most comic accurate from all Spiderman. Powers, costume, love interest, personality, age, intelligence all works well. Powers web shooters - Toby wrong with organic webs. Powers suit - Tom got it wrong merging with Iron spider armour. Love interest - both Toby and Tom wrong to start with MJ. Personality - Toby wrong. Tom and Andrew both right. Age - Tom slightly younger others Okey. Intelligence - Toby got it wrong. Tom and Andrew correct.
Ok you literally can’t say that Andrew is the most comic accurate Spider-Man. Powers, like what does that even mean??? They literally all have the same powers the only variation would be like how fast or strong he is and that’s a stupid thing to say. And as far as like which Peter is the smartest that has to go to Tom holland, he managed to make a cure for all six villains in no way home in like 6 hours. Costume wise he still doesn’t have the most comic accurate suit. They literally changed the spider design to a complétala different design, the back spider isn’t even trying to be comic accurate and the eyes are too big. Again Tom has the most comic accurate suit with his civil war suit or the final swing suit in no way home with the civil war suit being the most comic accurate version with the color, the small spider and the back spider most similar to the comics and the smaller eyes also being the most similar to the comics. Love interest sure Andrew has the fist live interest of Peter but Toby has the most iconic love interest. Age wise like Andrew isn’t even trying to look like he’s in high school, he looks mid 20s at least while Tom is over there looking 14 for the rest of his life. Andrew is not the most comic accurate age wise ether And I already kinda touched on intelligence but at least live action Tom us the most intelligent out of the three, he made cures for all the villains in one night, he made his own web fluid, he was the team leader out of the three and over all he has proved that his Peter is the smartest out of the three. So you can say Andrew is your favorite, I have no issues with that. I think he is a good Spider-Man (not so much in his movies because he was a whiny baby and was a terrible Peter Parker, if he really did good in no way home) but you can not say he is the most comic accurate Spider-Man, the facts just do not support it and your blind by your own personal likes.

@@sora_2342 insomniac Spider-Man is pretty accurate personality wise, but he is not an accurate spider-man in the ways he operates, he uses permanent robot legs and works with police very closely, that’s not spider-man. Spectacular is pretty accurate but most comic accurate Spider-Man is Peter B. Parker 100%
Spectacular Spider-Man Electro deserved the win. Their take on him was similar to comics Rhino in that the only reason he is a villain is because society can only perceive him as a villain. Very underrated adaptation
personally he was kinda bad, his suit was trash and I dont know why they don't just like let him roam free in public with no security and just a therapist
Personally I disagree on the suit, but that’s subjective I suppose. And that’s the thing: they DID let him roam free. The problem was Spidey. He thought Electro’s accidental outburst was an attack, even though he meant no harm. That lead him to slip further into being a criminal, all because nobody saw him as anything but a threat. He’s definitely not the most complex Spidey villain or anything, but he’s more interesting than the other adaptations
YES ANDREW GARFIELD WAS A PERFECT PETER. I hate poeple who say “Tobey was a better Peter, Andrew was a better spider-man” because Andrew was literal perfection for the Peter character. Peter is supposed to be this slightly hot guy who was just kinda a nerdy and creepy loner before he got powers. His talks with Gwen before he got his powers in the Amazing Spiderman movies are quite literally the closest thing we’ve got to a comic book Peter before the bite on our screen
I think most of adaptions I like were from Insomniac except Venom. I really love how they did both Peter and Miles, even making be in the same universe both being Spider man at the same time is achievement! I love three of there games and can’t wait for there next one which is of the character I hope they fix and make better. For anyone who has seen the leaks
@@Goku23864 it literally is? Harry has never been venom in the comics, both the original and ultimate comics had him as eddie Brock. Only adaptations switch the hosts and it’s always boring and treats the symbiote like a plot device rather than it’s own character. Venom in insomniac isnt venom. Kraven was the better antagonist and you can clearly see insomniac wanted to ad venom because he was popular rather than to truly adapt his character. Read a comic.
Out of all the spiderman media, I think the best Peter is either Tobey, the original Stan Lee comics Peter, or the early Ultimate Spiderman comics Peter, the same goes for Uncle Ben. Venom is best in the original issues he was introduced, Amazing Spiderman 300 and such. MJ's best iteration is either in the original Amazing Spiderman comics (aka Volume 1) or early Ultimate Spiderman comics, same goes for JJJ. Aunt May is best in early Ultimate Spiderman comics or in the Tobey movies. I agree with one of the other comments that Black Cat is best in Spiderman TAS. Miles was done best in the first Spiderverse movie. As for Harry Osborne, Flash Thompson, and the villains I prefer the original Amazing Spiderman versions (Vol 1 in particular once again).
The Ultimate cartoon and 2017 Cartoon Doc Ocks deserve their due respect!. Ultimate Ock actually learned Peter's identity, and threatened his aunt in his own home. While eating Peter's breakfast. 2017, he started out as one of Peter's teachers, and after the accident tried to be a hero before Osborn pushed him to a villain. He briefly mind-controlled Spider-Man, attempted to gain godlike power from a super computer, only for his mind to be trapped there before you know *TAKING PARKER'S BODY AND BECOMING SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN* before Venom force him to give the body back to Peter. Afterwards changed by the memories of Ben, Otto became an ally before sacrificing himself to save the city and Peter.
personally this is my best adaptation of each off them. spectacular and insomniac peter/spidey, cant peak just one, spectacular is the perfect teenage peter and imsomniac the perfect adult one, they just hace the humor, the vibe, the moves and the responsability conflict perfectly balance, maybe they are not the best in every aspect, but they dont lack on anything they just have some of the best spider-man stuff among al adaptations. Miles just gotta be the spiderverse one, is the one with better carisma, and is the one that feels more like he is his own spider-man of all his adaptations. harry, i got to give it to the maximun venom one, yes that hated series where peter looks like ben 10, its pretty underatted in every aspect and this harry is the prove, is one of the few harrys that his friendship with peter feels genuine, and the feeling of been under his father shadow is pretty well writen here, i just wish people watch this series with more atention to the little details that it has. Eddie Brock for me gotta be spectacular, just because is one of the few times that we can care about eddie before he was venom, and really watch how his hatred for both peter and spiderman feels justified, theres a point where in his perspective peter is just making his life imposible and we feel that. I think not every eddie has that. Mary Jane, gotta be imsoniac, for two reasons, she is as good support for petter as the spiderverse and spectacular ones, and also we see her insecuritys and making mistakes like the sam raimi ones, just without been toxic. And that for me makes her the most complete adaptation of her. gwen stacy, amazing and spiderverse ones, amazing is just how the character should be in every way, smart, emotional, and self sacrified, she is someone who really loves in a way so amazing that is imposible not get in touch with her, and for the spiderverse one, her arc with his father and the guilt she feels with miles and peter is just so well written, she was trappted in a circle of circunstances but at last time the most important person that she had just desided to believe in her and thats all that she needed. Aunt May, imsoniac and raimi, neather of them is above the other, they just show that all the parkers have the responsability in their blood, both versions are constantly giving peter the determination to do the right thing everytime they show, and we really feel peters impotence when he cant help her in both versions, specially in the imsomniac one. Uncle ben i got 4 versions this time, raimi, ultimate spiderman, maximum venom and spectacular. Why 4, because all 4 just shows perfectly what uncle ben is, he is the one that takes out the best of peter parker in the worst situation, raimi one is just inconic, he was so in touch with peter that in spider-man to peter litteraly had to talk to him to give up on been spider-man he couldnt just be in peace without apologising with him, in ultimate this uncle ben just made that this peter was one of the ones with more will power, so much that when a dream villain try to show peters greater fear he didnt dout any second that he has to surpass that because his loyalty to what his uncle ben tought him is so strong that even in his greates fear he is guiding him, spectacular just has the best performance, when venom almost took full control of him, uncle ben showed on peters mind and show him how much he has beacause of he been responsable and gave him enough self confidence to literattly become imune to the symbiot bad influence. maximum venoms is just great, peter constantly remembers him when he has a problem, he is just an enciclopedya for hard moments for peter he is always giving him the answer for problems that he cant solve with power or intelligence. norman osborn, is just raimi. He is perfect, he shows that norman has a human side, he is intimidating, he actually kill people, he is smart, he is crazy, is just perfect in every way that the green goblin could be perfect. doc oc, raime and imsomniac. It just hurts that they became bad, maybe raime has more carisma, but imsomniac just explores better his insecuritys and his bond with peter. Both master peaces. king pin, both daredivel netflix one and spiderverse, they just are perfect, they are human, but also they just feel above everything and they just shows how a gangster villain should be writen. carnage, the 90s one, maybe is not so bloody but it feels to much in character. rhino, the ultimate spiderman one. beacause it just shows how power without responsability can do with someone who was bullied, his betray was just a cold move and it felt really painfull, one of the most human adaptation there is. flash tompson, is just spectacular, maybe the amazing, ultimate and maximum venom ones learned how apraciate peter more, but just the spectacular could actually teach something to peter and ground him, this flash actually learns that his popularity mask doesnt really matters and start making inforcing the true bonds of his realationships. sandman for me are raimi and maximum venom, they just show that flint marco is a victim and he do everything he does because he wants a better future for his familly but he can just escape from his mistakes thats deep, spectucular do this too but i feel like sam raimis and maximun venom just do it more deeply, we actully can feel his suffering in this versions. shocker, i gotta go with spectacular, it feels both smart and intimidant, some times even feel above spiderman and non other version has done that. lizard, spectacular and 90s, i feel like they both develop connors so well that you really care about him. vulture, oviusly mcu, there are pretty good versions also, unlimited, spectacular and the imsoniac ones can make you have a little empaty for him but MCU is just unbeatable, we not only care about him, we fear him. And for a goofy villian like him do that is just masterclass. kraven is just imsoniac, besiades the comics we had never seen a kraven so well done. Elektro. surprisinly, MTV series and also spectacular, the mtv series makes you care about him and it just feels his insecurity, they just show how alone he feels and how that makes him mistake so much, amazing tried to do it, but it just feel forced in certain parts, in MTV series it just make sense the way he acts. And spectacular shows how his life just got ruined for an accident it that frustrate him so much that again he just keep doing mistakes. mysterio, gotta be MCU one, i know is just tiering all the stark employee stuff again, but he is so carismatic, and he fucked up peter so much that he just has not competence he the best mysterio. super menacing, ambicius and cruel. He is just great. JJJ. i gotta say 90s, raimi and spectacular. they just are perfectly adapted, raimi and spectacular shows that even do he is so bad with spidey and peter, he actually cares about peter and he can risk his life to protect him, and 90s, show why he has so much hate for masked heroes.
You're sleeping on Electro, he has some good adaptations. In MTV's Spider-Man, he's sympathetic and his goals in that show are more personal than anything related to robbing banks, not to mention he's scary as hell.
10:30 I would disagree and personally go with the Black Cat from the Spider-Man 2 movie game. She is accurate to the comics, and she helps Spider-Man when she can. But she is also understanding of Peter's dilemma of trying to have a normal life, and she is just a good friend in general to him in the game since she helps get him motivated after seeing him struggle. There is just a good rapport between them, and it isn't too sexual or touchy. I would say the 90's show version is decent, but she is like a mix of Gwen Stacy sort of, and Black Cat is oddly connected the super serum instead of getting bad luck powers in the show.
Mock me if you must, but spongebob's voice actor is the best doc ock! Tom kenny is the best thing in ultimate spiderman and he portrays comic ock pettiness and thinking he is smarter and better than anyone so great
I know I'm gonna be hunted for what I'm gonna say... I like Ultimate Spider-Man series Aunt May. I know that she isn't the most comic book acurate version, but I love that she isn't suposed to be the classic at any moment she can die Aunt May, in this show she is just hyper active and I find that incredibly funny. She is the Aunt May that goes to yoga and bowling, how in the hell did they get the idea for this Aunt May? But what can I say, I like goofy stuff so maybe its because of that. But I will always defend that the Ultimate series Aunt May is a great version of the character.
Honestly surprised Insomniacs Doc Ock didn't get an honorable mention at least, with his declining health you can't help but feel sympathy for as he slowly gets driven mad throughout the course of the entire game. Great list otherwise!
Spectacular Spider-Man Rhino, 90s Green Goblin, Spectacular Green Goblin, and Spectacular Venom were all underrated on this list. also Ultimate Spider-Man Doc Ock and Ultimate Spider-Man Green Goblin were also underrated
Yeah Go Willem DeFoe’s Green Goblin. We have to see more of him in The MCU/MCM/MCO (Marvel Cinematic Universe/Marvel Cinematic Multiverse/Marvel Cinematic Omniverse) and Sony’s Cinematic Universe. Another Green Goblin I would accept is the 90’s one (I think by Neil Ross) and in The Ultimate Spider-Man TV Series (Steven Weber) especially when he became The Spider-Goblin.
Insomniac Rhino should’ve been mentioned. With the sinister six stuff, it was mentioned how he joined because he wanted the suit off, so they definitely gave him at least something.
Ed Asner’s version of Jameson from Spider-Man the Animated Series is the best he’s an actual character compared to JK Simmons’ version which is portrayed amazingly however is a minor comic relief character We see Ed Asher’s version work with Spider-Man to help his his son when he’s kidnapped and the two work together when Robbie Robertson is framed for a crime he didn’t commit We understand why he hates Spider-Man but despite his best efforts to appear stern he helps his workers/friends and that is who J Jonah Jameson should be almost a hero who doesn’t trust Spider-Man because he does wear a mask like the man who killed his wife
Donald Glover being the only reason for the creation of Miles is a bit of a misconception Sure there was a bit of inspiration from him wearing Spider-Man pyjamas in an episode of Community and then a lot of people wanting him cast in the Spider-Man reboot which would become the Amazing Spider-Man (2012) but the creator or Miles (Brian Michael Bendis) also had already been wanting to create a biracial character given his kid/kids are biracial as well as America having a black/biracial president at the time
Amazing Spider-Man has great actors, great moments, and great suits! (And yes I'm including both Spider-Man suits. I like them both.) But the story n the first one is fine and the second one is horrendous.
Uncle Ben's death in The amazing spider-man was stupid and pointless. From his perspective he just attacked a random guy who dropped his gun and he didn't even see the crime, u know guns are allowed in America.
It’s actually very funny you said this I was watching TASM yesterday with some friends and they said this too. But Spider-Man takes place in New York, it’s nigh impossible to get a concealed carriers permit in New York for a gun unless you’re law enforcement. He is pretty stupid for what he did but that guy is a criminal and he just gave the moral obligation speech. It’s a little contrived but I liked it still
I honestly prefer Insom Peter because to me at least, he holds all the best traits of each big screen spidey. The youthfulness of Holland, the charm and quips of Garfield, and the aged look of Maguire (also the black air force energy)
I know people say Martin Sheen great power speech goes too long, but I disagree. His speech puts into perspective what "with great power comes great responsibility" actually means, and I really like it
I love how much JK enjoys playing JJJ. Dude is as obsessed with the role as we are obsessed with him playing it. Also are you going to do an add-on video with the Miles Morales characters as well? Think theres some tough matchups between the movie and video game
For me, the Best Doc Ock is insomniac PS4 version. I really loved seeing the shift into evil he had and how he was the mastermind behind the Sinister Six. It was also a more believable transition into evil than Alfred Molina's probably because they took time to show him as troubled before the shift.
insomniac may nearly made me fucking cry when I replayed the game on pc remastered FUCK DUDE IT HURT it does not get easier I also love the dynamic between Octavius and Peter in insomniac, and tom Kenny did a great voice for ultimate ock

I think it’s a crime that Spectacular Electro wasn’t mentioned, Crispin Freeman’s performance is amazing and the story around him is really good.
Exactly. Spectacular portrays the freak essence of the experimental villains perfectly like sandman, rhino etc.
he's the electro voice i hear when i read him
Crispin Freeman is a memorable VA.

Nice vid! I personally think Spectacular’s Flash is the best, you get to see him gradually change from just Peter’s bully to an actual friend. The part where he confronts Peter when he had the symbiote is peak Flash imo
I love TASMs character growth, it's so subtle and hits hard if you're paying attention
@@KillerMoth3663 a shame such an amazing show has been cancelled
Ultimate Spider-Man Flash is my fav. He was a bully, then started to slowly change, and in season 3 became Agent Venom.

I WAS JUST ABOUT TO MENTION THAT 🗣🗣🗣
Rosemary Harris's performance in the Spider man trilogy is so iconic. Like you could not reminisce about these movies and without thinking of Aunt May.
All of my favorite adaptations of each character got your top spot or an honorable mention except one and that’s Uncle Ben in Spectacular Spider-Man.
I don’t remember if he had any other appearances besides the symbiote arc but having Uncle Ben be the physical manifestation of Peter’s moral compass is everything Uncle Ben should be
That is actually a great pull I def think he deserves a spot that’s on me
I just recently played Neversoft's Spider-Man for my first time on Dreamcast a few years back, and yeah Venom is an absolute riot in that game. Dude had me cracking up the entire time. Honestly that game's story is just really cool with how they incorporate the wider Marvel universe, they should reimagine it imo.
I would buy a remake with todays graphics instantly. They can even keep the limitations because that’s the charm of it.
SURF THE WEB, SURF THE WEB!! > Healing the world lol
Insomniac's Doc Ock definitely deserved an honorable mention
Oh absolutely. TAS Black Cat was amazing
Fun fact: James Cameron was going to make a Spider-Man movie in the 90s and the reason Sandman wasn't in the cartoon and Electro wasn't in it until much later is because they were going to be the main villains of that movie and the movie studio owned the rights to use them at the time.
I remember reading that he was. Cameron’s movie would have been sweet.
The best adaptation of Kingpin is D'Onofrio's portrayal in Daredevil and Hawkeye hands down.
Na the 90s cartoon
@@ozyyy009 you dont know anything about good Kingpin character 😂
Only in Daredevil series and movie

Im surprised you didn’t give spiderverse Gwen an honorable mention. I know she’s inherently a bit more interesting because she’s a spider person but in general I’ve never been as invested into Gwen as much as in spiderverse personally
I agree she’s gotta be the best adaptation of the character in terms of investment, but maybe he didn’t pick her because she’s more “Spider-Gwen” than “Gwen Stacy”
She's gwen stacy in name only.
@@yourfatboy5359 thats just the nature of adaptation, what’s the point of adapting something if you don’t expand upon different aspects of a character? Hence my opinion she’s the most interesting Gwen Stacy I’ve seen
Thats a spider gwen adaptation not a 616 gwen but she gets the prize for the best spider gwen adaptation
The reason I didn’t was because spider Gwen is a completely different Gwen.
I could’ve included spider Gwen as well but she’s has Spiderverse, 2017 show and a kids tv show.

Andrew Garfield is indeed a very accurate Spider man
Yeah I personally think Tobey’s Maguire is best but it is just an opinion however, yeah Andrew is the most accurate.
Best indeed
The best character wise but the writing in the 2nd movie had some questionable decisions and Lizard’s motivations were kinda flimsy.
the design for insomniac venom is so good, but I hate how short his story was
JK did such a good role as JJJ that every time you see him in any other piece of media you just automatically think "Yo thats the guy who played JJJ"
Which version of his JJJ do you like best? Live action, or Ultimate Spider-Man?
I like Mcu uncle Ben he brings so much heart and soul.
LOLOLOLOL
My introduction to Electro was in Spiderman 2 for the original PlayStation where he was the main villain. Which meant I was surprised when he turned out to be a low tier character in the comics and most other adaptations. Meaning that game was probably his crowning moment.
I see jk Simmons as jjj always, even when he's not playing him, like in whiplash, where I imagine he's so mad because he's not getting pictures of spider-man, and he takes his anger out on his jazz students. I think I'm really onto something here.
Shocker from the Raimi film games was pretty excellent. I don't remember the VA's name but he cooked in both 1 and 2
I also think that the Midnight Suns game handled Morbius really well too.
I think he’s the best Peter too
@@Mushess I would consider Tom Holland to be the best Peter,
Tobey is nerdy, but looks too old

Peter - Insomniac
Miles - Spider-Verse

Harry - Spectacular

A Spider-Man fan who isn’t blinded by bias and gives fair criticism shocking
🙏🏾
The two best Spider-Men are Christopher Daniel Barnes and Josh Keaton with Yuri Lowenthal after them
The next Spiderman DLC could bring a peak Carnage. Rather than just a serial killer, him being the leader of a doomsday death cult sounds insanely interesting.
It’s gonna be DLC
@@ayushbajaj4708 Right. I'll fix that.
Honestly a Harry Osborn video would be cool, I'm not really familiar with how he's fully is in the comics but the way you describe him reminds me of how I feel adaptations tend to only ever get half of Venom right
he’s not venom usually
Never would i have thought that somebody would think Harry is the original venom
I'm reading original TASM comic and I can say that the adaptations haven't touched the potential of Harry's comic counterpart. His arc is one of my favourites. Tho I haven't completed it, I can say it's still gonna be a banger.
Comics Harry is so multilayered no adaptation is really even close. Spectacular is closest but yeah comics Harry is very very deep
Preciate it !
I would say the 2003 series version of Kraven had potential if they kept going. His design and voice was awesome. As for Electro, 2003 show was the best and tragic version of the character and honorable mention was his Spectacular counterpart
YES! I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT THIS TOPIC FOR A WHILE!
Andrew is not the most comic accurate age wise ether
And I already kinda touched on intelligence but at least live action Tom us the most intelligent out of the three, he made cures for all the villains in one night, he made his own web fluid, he was the team leader out of the three and over all he has proved that his Peter is the smartest out of the three.

Spectacular Spider-Man and spider-Man shattered dimension are goats
The Ultimate cartoon and 2017 Cartoon Doc Ocks deserve their due respect!. Ultimate Ock actually learned Peter's identity, and threatened his aunt in his own home. While eating Peter's breakfast. 2017, he started out as one of Peter's teachers, and after the accident tried to be a hero before Osborn pushed him to a villain. He briefly mind-controlled Spider-Man, attempted to gain godlike power from a super computer, only for his mind to be trapped there before you know *TAKING PARKER'S BODY AND BECOMING SUPERIOR SPIDER-MAN* before Venom force him to give the body back to Peter. spectacular and insomniac peter/spidey, cant peak just one, spectacular is the perfect teenage peter and imsomniac the perfect adult one, they just hace the humor, the vibe, the moves and the responsability conflict perfectly balance, maybe they are not the best in every aspect, but they dont lack on anything they just have some of the best spider-man stuff among al adaptations.
Great video. I always enjoy your take on things. Keep it coming.
Andrew Garfield is the goat Spiderman
I can't belive you didn't do the best adaption for the wall or big wheel
Mock me if you must, but spongebob's voice actor is the best doc ock!
Tom kenny is the best thing in ultimate spiderman and he portrays comic ock pettiness and thinking he is smarter and better than anyone so great
I feel like spectacular venom should have gotten an honorable mention. But ps1 is the best, no debate
Never ever had that so much fun while watching 20 min video!
Wow this was very kind thank you yo!
1:34 everybody gangsta till the crowd starts chanting “see ya later” with every web throw
Sad to see no mention of the "ultimate" franchise since there are a TON of very interesting design and story choices when it comes to characters
For Peter, idk if its Spectacular, Insomniac, or Tobey

As the days go by more and more people will agree that Andrew’s spidey is Amazing
Ed Asner’s version of Jameson from Spider-Man the Animated Series is the best he’s an actual character compared to JK Simmons’ version which is portrayed amazingly however is a minor comic relief character
We see Ed Asher’s version work with Spider-Man to help his his son when he’s kidnapped and the two work together when Robbie Robertson is framed for a crime he didn’t commit
We understand why he hates Spider-Man but despite his best efforts to appear stern he helps his workers/friends and that is who J Jonah Jameson should be almost a hero who doesn’t trust Spider-Man because he does wear a mask like the man who killed his wife
Donald Glover being the only reason for the creation of Miles is a bit of a misconception
Sure there was a bit of inspiration from him wearing Spider-Man pyjamas in an episode of Community and then a lot of people wanting him cast in the Spider-Man reboot which would become the Amazing Spider-Man (2012) but the creator or Miles (Brian Michael Bendis) also had already been wanting to create a biracial character given his kid/kids are biracial as well as America having a black/biracial president at the time
Amazing Spider-Man has great actors, great moments, and great suits!
It’s a little contrived but I liked it still
im so glad someone finally talks abt andrews spiderman hes been my favorite all along
HAHAHAHA TOM WILL FIGHT TOM HARDY VENOM NOT ANDREW
@@Goku23864 you sound so dumb but cool ig lmao
Thank you for mentioning WOS AND Shattered Dimensions
Insomniac Doc Ock man! He's soooo good! At least a mention. Good video!
I honestly prefer Insom Peter because to me at least, he holds all the best traits of each big screen spidey. The youthfulness of Holland, the charm and quips of Garfield, and the aged look of Maguire (also the black air force energy)
Wait, CHILDISH GAMBINO THE PERSON WHO MADE REDBONE PLAYS MILES?! THATS CRAZY
The king pen roll I gotta give it to the person that played green mile, he played King pen in the 2003 Deadpool where happy was in
Spectacular Flash is peak Flash imo.
It was also a more believable transition into evil than Alfred Molina's probably because they took time to show him as troubled before the shift.
just kidding simmons does the best "are you serious" impression
GET THE PITCHFORKS
I'd get like half of those to the 94s show and Spectacular ngl
Super Hero Squad Spider-Man is the best FACTUALLY.
hey...hey wait you missed one

FUCK DUDE IT HURT
it does not get easier
I also love the dynamic between Octavius and Peter in insomniac, and tom Kenny did a great voice for ultimate ock

My favourite mj is definitely insomniac's, suprised she didn't even get a mention
I never liked a vid as fast as I liked this one the moment you said Andrew is the best spiderman
This list was perfect in my opinion
Pretty solid list. I’ll admit, I did have the pitch forks up for the TASM picks, but everything else made sense
90s Spider-Man series is fu**ing goated!
Jamie Foxx, CGI, and Spectacular Electros are my favorite versions. They’re iconic, have a level of sympathy and energy, and are a genuine threat to
Great picks. On a side note, what’s the background music you used? It sounds familiar but I forgot the names
You know, I respect your choices mate
