I am so thankful for my stepdad for stepping in when I was younger. My mom brought me and my older sister to my real dad’s house to ask him and his wife if we could come visit every other weekend. I snuck in the hallway to overhear him saying no. I remember for years saying I’m going to find him to ask why did he say no. As I got older, in my late 20s I accepted that I no longer needed to know why, I had a man who took me, my older sister and brother in with open arms and has loved us unconditionally. Till this day I am so grateful for him❤❤❤

These are the hard conversations that every family needs to strive to have with each other. I understand that sometimes it is just not possible but try to. The Truth will set you free, no matter how hard to hear.

I'm enjoying ACross Generations Tiffany. Thanks for the empowering information & interesting topics. As for Daddy Issues I have so, so many!. My Papi was the first man to break my heart when he & my Mamacita divorced. Leaving our family & forcing her to raise 5 kids alone. He promised he would always love me, that I would still see him. He LIED!, & I'm still not over it. Fast forward, to my life today. I've been blessed with an amazing husband, who's the most loving Daddy to our only child. Proving that real men STAY!.

I had both parents in my life but Dr Joy Ellington is a mirror reflection of how my relationship was with my father. I have been told that I move through life like a man and I don’t want to be seen like that. I love being a woman in all aspects of life! I want to be wanted and loved by the right man! This was another great episode!! 🙌🏾❤

Another great episode! I was very blessed to have a loving, protective, and wise daddy. He was so cool. The only time we ever had any issues was during my rebellious teenage years. I miss him dearly but he's always in my heart. RIP Daddy. ❤

I had a father in my life, it was my mother who walked out of my life. My father was both roles, but also unfortunately because he is a man he lacked that empathy or compassion you would have from a mother. Also he was the main breadwinner so he definitely lacked being present because he had to work and support his 3 kids.

I give such reverence to the Dr. “the seasoned” 🥴guest on the show, as she was blessed with discernment at a young age. Or maybe her proximity to males (uncles or cousins), gave her a very needed perspective regarding men. I had those great uncles and cousins too. Also I think knowing that her bio dad was “around “ and had love for her, gave her the confidence and foundation. She learned that people are imperfect but can still do the best that they’re equipped to do. And the bonus was her stepfather, who covered her in her youth and beyond. 👏🏾👏🏾Great show. I was very fortunate to have one of the good dads. Not perfect. But even my mom says after a divorce and being married to him for 20+ yrs, he is and was a good one.I am grateful and blessed.

This episode was so heartfelt. As someone who had an absent father due to physical abuse, I did use sex with men as a way to cope. As I have gotten into my thirties and now therapy, a lot of my disposition towards not wanting a family of my own, came from the trauma dumping surrounded by the views my family had of my father.
    Great episode as always 🌻

I was raised with my mother and father in the home as a married couple. However the values they taught me prevented me from being able to separate sex from love. So this brings in a new dynamic to the father being in the home.

First I want to say to Ms Tiffany I’ve been a big fan of yours for quite some time and I truly miss the IG live (The Cross Talk) with you Dr Jason Johnson on Saturdays right after the “Cross Connects”. I’m loving watching Across Generations with your guess and I have much respect for you on sharing your life experience. I have a daughter who lives in the DMV with her husband and I had turn her on (Share) to this podcast and she told me that she’s like the podcast episodes. Dr Ellington’s comments on( 41:00) separating love and sex sounds like a playbook manual from the best seller book and the box office success movie “Think like a man and a act like a woman” (I know Steve Harvey gets the credit for writing the book but I thinks Ms Margie is the ghost writer) 😉 Great Show 🙏🏿🤎👍🏿. By the way I’m a very soon to be a 65 yr young black male originally from North Philly but for the past 25 years I’ve been living in the (I’m ready to move and relocate) PacNorth West and I’m learning allot from the show topics and thank you 🙏🏿 Oh yeah, Brian Mcnight is a ahole!

Unfortunately the courts are a big part of the problem. The courts have essentially said fathers don't matter, no matter how bad the mothers are. So it's not as simple as going to the courts and asserting your rights. I know a number of fathers having this struggle with their exes where the courts have sided with the mothers. It's a never ending vicious cycle and unfortunately the kids suffer because of ALL adults involved.

I think seeing your parents in unhealthy conflict is way worse than parents hiding it. At least you had peace in the home
