    I love how you did the swirl vases.....but since they were in fast motion it was hard to see how you did it. Maybe you could do a video on how to throw those and the other swirl mugs, please.

    I'm new to pottery and clay throwing, but I just bought the Thomas Stuart Revolution model wheel. Great design with the removable head and big splash pan that comes off to clean easily. It can handle more pounds of clay then I'll ever throw. Keep the great videos coming brother.

    I'm not going to lie, I'm jealous of the Thomas Stuart wheel. Great, powerful motor, responsive pedal. and a huge splash pan. I like my Brent, but if I were to buy new, I'd probably go with a Thomas Stuart/ Skutt.
    I like the altered form vessels you made. I've never tried that form/ technique myself.
    Love the shots, your sister took. Those would be some good framers for the coffee shop(s), or your new studio.
    In regards to the Raku wares, prepare to have clarify, everytime you mention it to people, that you are saying *Raku*, not Raccoon...

    Nice wheel Jon, I really like the easy way you can change the head. I'm sorry I did laugh when you kept forgetting you were throwing on bats. But some very nice pieces, I can't imagine how difficult it would be to throw while people are watching and talking to you, you ARE the man. 😊 cheers Bob 🇬🇧

    I heard your Brent wheel squeaking in one of your previous videos. If you remove the motor from the wheel, a local electric motor shop can rebuild it for you with new bearings. That's what I did with the old used Brent wheel I bought from my local clay studio. Keep up the great work Jon!

  • @lakechild9669
    @lakechild9669 2 роки тому

    Hi Jon ! I'm squeeky close to buying a skutt revolution wheel like that. Two questions from a lady with a severely bad back. I want to try standing, because the sit position is becoming dangerous for me.. That wheel looks like the wheel is farther from the body than others because of space between pan and wheelhead. Does that mean having to lean over farther? Secondly, the pan appears to move a lot as you work. Does this make it feel unstable when centering or using it as support? Would you recommend for someone with serious back issues? Would appreciate any insight if you do see this comment. Thanks for all the great videos!

    Hey Jon, I was just wondering how come you throw on a bat but then you cut your pieces off anyways. Is there an advantage to throwing on the bat vs just throwing on the wheel?

    • @Jonthepotter
      @Jonthepotter  5 років тому

      throwing on a bat gives you the option to move it if you want , so basically for the flexibility!

    Nice! I want to buy a wheel soon so it's good to see this one in action. I will look at the extensions too for a standing wheel. When I watched the video with your grandpa he mentioned stopping wheel work as his strength faded. Some days I feel like if I were stronger it would help my wheel work. Know of any workout routines specifically for potters? :-)
    Would a standing wheel require the same strength or would it be harder? I know sitting I can brace myself and that helps. A good video would be standing vs sitting? Keep up the great work!

    • @Jonthepotter
      @Jonthepotter  5 років тому +1

      Standing might require a little more strength but as with most things I think if you do it enough it becomes easier! Keep that core strength strong to help with any back pain, Core strength is the key!
