Here’s a prayer I jotted down from UA-cam while someone was giving his testimony at Medjugorje, Crotia, and ever since I have been saying it: (This person was not well for a very long time and the Holy Spirit inspired him to go to Church, to receive Communion, and to say this prayer and he got healed soon after). ”Let your precious body and blood mix with mine and travel through my body, healing me of all my fears and all my sicknesses and fill me with your peace. Let your precious body and blood mix with mine and flow throughout my being, make me into what you would want me to be that I might love like you.”

When I was a kid, the Catholic Church in town was pretty much always open during the day for Eucharistic adoration. Nowadays, at least in the big city, it seems every church is locked and adoration must be scheduled. One would think that after the archbishop lifted the increased rules from the great sickness, that they would open back up. I appreciate this thoughtful video, especially since I can gain very little from just looking at the caption in the UA-cam results and the still image used for it--I think that's called the thumbnail. It is certainly important to recognize that the Eucharist is meant to transform us and send us forth. I plan to attend the Eucharistic Congress later this month and I look forward to how I'll be transformed and sent forth from the experience.
Thank you for this great video, Father Casey. It is priests like you that we Catholics need, for the confusion and lack of knowledge of our own faith seems to be one of the reasons why many Catholics all over the place have been deserting our church. I really think we need more apologists who can teach us Catholics more about our faith and how to defend it.
when I became Catholic in college, the Eucharist and believing fully in the doctrine of transubstantiation was one of my biggest draws. now, despite my struggles sometimes, I remain Catholic because of the Eucharist. nowhere else than at communing at Mass do I receive such life for my soul to manage the slings and arrows of this life, and I find myself unable and unwilling to give that up. I do wonder, Fr Casey, if you have any recommendations for ways to learn more about the theological significance of the Eucharist? books especially but whatever really. I know I wish churches in my area would hold something talking about this, but I haven't found anything yet.
Friar Casey, during one Sunday mass in 2007, I was wondering what should happen to the Eucharist when it was raining and the church was "overly populated" so some had to sit outside under roofings made by the church. I sat outside the church since it was overly crowded and I was like "God, the rain is going to soak the host wet, what would you do? Will you let the deacons get wet too? " And before the deacons delivered the Eucharist... There was a strong wind blowing and the rain ceased... And after every single one church goers had their host and children got the blessings through the hands of the priest, another strong wind blew and the rain resumed... Even though it was like a coincidence, I can only say "God, You're cheating" haha...
@@reintaler6355 I do, there are many experiences that may seem like a "coincidence" but they actually have deeper meanings in my life... Like when I may seem to hear someone chatting about "why not letting go grudges before receiving Eucharist" when I was plotting for someone's downfall while ignoring the priest's homily. It may seem like someone was chatting inside the church and it may sometimes feel like it's completely nothing... But still it has meaningful advice.. The Lord is surely great
Thank for your message. For me, I have found greater comfort, understanding and reverence in the Eucharist since I was introduced to the Prayers for Before and After Mass by St. Thomas Aquinas.
As I look forward to traveling to the NER in July, I will ponder these words in my heart. Live the Eucharist. It reminds me of a book I read early in my Catholic journey. “Eating Beauty” may be hard to find; published by the Cornell University Press. It was, for me, transformative as I was still being transformed to the Faith. Absolutely! Live the Eucharist.
Impressive the way you speak. Thank you. Grtz from a Roman Catholic in the Netherlands, who - after 57 years in this world and being Catholic - still is looking for answers. One thing I am sure of the last year more then ever. I am glad to be a Roman-Catholic. But far and foremost, I am glad to be a Christian.
Father, everything you say is correct. There is certainly a greater problem in our American Church that poor teaching of the Real Presence. We absolutely need to come what we receive to make a greater missionary impact in our communities. But the problem is, and you probably realize this, is that the grand majority of Catholics have no idea what they have. It’s so true that you can’t give what you don’t have, and this is so true of the faithful today. We can’t expect people to understand something they’ve never been taught or encountered. Why does the beauty and truth of our faith feel like this very well kept secret?? I think this great endeavor to understand the real presence is at least a starting point. Expecting people to go out and bring Jesus to their communities isn’t going to happen unless the fire, and I mean a fire, is first lit within the folks who are regularly coming to Mass.
Dear Casey, Thanks for continuing your hard work. I served at the daily 6:30 a.m. mass during my 7th and 8th grades way beyond my share because I was the only one who was reliable. When the discussion of transubstantion came up in high school religion class, I was the only one to say the eucharist was symbolic. It was 1981. Keep carrying on. Love, Uncle Kevin
The Church needs to engage with the people. Sinners as we all are, burdened with our sins and guilt and all the other issues and struggles. I honestly don't know where to start, but the most effective RC church nearby has a long bulletin with lots of information and a weekly calendar. Every week there's a: Young Adult Bible Study YA Sorority meeting One all-day Adoration (morning to 6pm) YA Fraternity Lay Carmelites meeting Pre-mass Rosary (Saturdays) And informally, generally 1 or more additional informal meetups. Last month, for Advent & Christmas, there were like 6 additional opportunities between candlelit masses, adoration, and YA events. This month, there's a parish dinner.
I am about to write a letter to my parish priest and trying to figure out how to articulate my thoughts re Eucharist, evangelism and caring for the sick. This video of yours just came in time. Thank you so much.
POPE BENEDICT XVI: “In sacramental communion I become one with the Lord, like all the other communicants. As Saint Paul says, “Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread” (1 Cor 10:17). Union with Christ is also union with all those to whom he gives himself. We become “one body”, completely joined in a single existence. Love of God and love of neighbor are now truly united: God incarnate draws us all to himself.”
I liked how there was no rock intro or anything. The words themselves adorned the video. It pointed to my hypocrisy deeply, though i didn’t expect it to. Very impactful, very humbling. Thank you
Excellent video brother, beautifully put!!! If the nature of Who HE is isn't sinking in to be the root of the way we do it, is JESUS our King at all? Well said! I know by respect it's father, also a protestant and call all brother or sister, we are one family, Big C or little, and it's a blessing to join at HIS Table. Keep at it!!
POPE BENEDICT XVI: "The Eucharist has both a personal and a social character: Christ unites himself with me, but also with those beside me, and so unites himself equally with my neighbor. We are all one bread, one body. And this is communion."
Wonderful,Fr. Casey! I wish other Catholic apologists-especially those on the same platform (YT) would cross-reference this excellent brief on pushing the “Eucharistic revival” farther-from understanding and adoration, to “becoming what we receive.” By the way Fr. Mike Schmitz’s homily for Epiphany Sunday 2023 resonates with the point you make here; that we cannot go to mass and remain unchanged because “if we truly offer the sacrifice of the mass with the priest and with Jesus himself, we would be different, we would be more like him.”
Greetings. I am an Anglican and visited a Catholic parish one morning before going onto my normal Anglican one. As is sometimes (typically?) the case, the readings were the same and the homily was on a similar topic. For this particular Sunday morning, that topic was the real presence of Christ in the elements of the Eucharist. The Catholic homily consisted of the deacon pleading with the congregants to accept the real presence of Christ because this is the Church's position on the matter. Then, when the elements themselves were consecrated, the liturgy being read stated *that* Christ said what he did at the table. I would like to contrast these two things with what happened at my Anglican parish a couple of hours later. The homily there was a Scriptural dissertation on why the elements are the body and blood of the Lord Jesus using his own words from the gospels. And when the elements themselves were consecrated, we didn't read *that* he said this is the case, we read his actual statements taken directly from Scripture. In fact, part of the consecration *is* effectively reading Scripture. What I'm trying to say is this: If you want people to take His real presence seriously, put Jesus' own words into the blessing of the elements.
I didn't even know exactly what was the eucharist until 2019 when a southern Baptist pastor asked what the catholic church thought about it. I spent so many years in all kind of protestants churches and here and there in catholic church. Completely lost 😂 Then that pastor told me that the catholic church resacrifies Jesus then it sparked something in me to do my research for the first in my life I did a research to understand my church that I had abandoned because I didn't understand. Not only I am so on fire for God, I even pray the 7 sorrows of Mary and there is no man or woman behaviors that will make me leave the church again. I learn everyday and imagine that I even go to confession and did get my 5 years old son baptised last year while I was told to wait. I am glad and happy that God is forgiving. So on fire 🔥
This is an excellent video. He vocalizes what has bothered me about the whole Eucharistic Revival. It is more than Processions Adoration. What is Eucharist all about? We are to take in Jesus and go live Jesus in the world! Thank you, thank you, Father Casey!
Thank you, Father. I have been a catechist for almost 30 years, and I agree with your message wholeheartedly. I have downloaded the transcript. Would you mind if I printed it and offered it to our parish family?
I did a tiktok video or two, myself. I'm not as eloquent of a speaker as others, Father, but I'm glad people are talking about this. Hopefully, people will begin to really understand and embrace what we are receiving when we attend Mass.
I pray for myself and all Catholics to be transformed each time we receive the Eucharist so we can be a strong force in the world bringing people to Christ.
Yes! Yes! That’s it! Finally! This video provides a great description of the Eucharist’s invitation to a table where people in all places and conditions gather to become one with Christ. Forgive me as I attempt to do a cartwheel! I get a sense the Church, with its recent attempt at Eucharistic revival, has behaved to some degree like it started a 21-century Counter Reformation. Doctrine camps, dogma lessons, myth busting, and harsh didacticism (exaggerating a bit here) won’t work in the modern era. Mission, vision, charism, love, forgiveness, etc., are what people can wrap their hearts and minds around. They are also the characteristics that made Christ so compelling to begin with. Let’s stop telling Catholics they’re wrong and start reminding them of what Jesus called them to in the Eucharist. The rest of what’s needed will likely follow. I’m so glad I watched this video. The other recent “revival” videos I’ve watched were pretty awful.
Yes but you don’t have the actual body and blood of Christ you don’t have the authority to transform it. I’m not trying to be mean just saying the facts
Someone I know in the Presbyterian church who was a minister, after giving out their communion ( just normal bread baked at a supermarket), had leftover small pieces (which is their communion). He and his wife took it to the nearest lake and fed it to the ducks!! 😮 Obviously NOT the consecrated Body of Christ!
@@danyshampun5495the Bible says not to eat blood! Why would Jesus say to do it? This is a point/debate that causes discord in the church Jesus had built along with the Holy Spirit! It takes away love which is one of the commands of Jesus! So, you do you….in love let’s end this debate!

I suppose this would be a good time to say oh Lord please help me please help my troubled questioning mind find some sort of peace and calm even if it’s just a small corner of my mind where we can chat and I can find some sort of calmness.
@@Bestbuddybob I am not trying to criticize you, but the danger of trying to find something you 100% agree with or "glad it’s not a you must believe in everything" is that it often just becomes you worshiping yourself or the zeitgeist. Religion isn't supposed to be easy, it isn't supposed to be a yes man that nods in agreement with everything that you want. Let Christ challenge you.
CATECHISM OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH: "The Eucharist commits us to the poor. To receive in truth the Body and Blood of Christ given up for us, we must recognize Christ in the poorest, his brethren."
Here’s a prayer I jotted down from UA-cam from someone who was giving his testimony at Medjugorje, Crotia, and ever since I have been saying it: (This person was not well for a very long time and the Holy Spirit inspired him to go to Church, to receive Communion, and to say this prayer and he got healed soon after).
Here’s the prayer, not sure how it got left out from my previous message:
”Let your precious body and blood mix with mine and travel through my body, healing me of all my fears and all my sicknesses and fill me with your peace. Let your precious body and blood mix with mine and flow throughout my being, make me into what you would want me to be that I might love like you.”
I’m not sure how the prayer got missed earlier…here it is:
”Let your precious body and blood mix with mine and travel through my body, healing me of all my fears and all my sicknesses and fill me with your peace. Let your precious body and blood mix with mine and flow throughout my being, make me into what you would want me to be that I might love like you.”
Thank you! I’ll strive to remember you and your work, in my prayers.
Father… a wonderful video. This is what we need as Catholics. Thank you 🙏🏻. A body of mission. Yes! We need to live it! God bless you.
Thank you Father Casey I’m still a catholic who lost his faith but slowly getting back into it thanks to your breakdowns in videos like this. God bless you
I appreciate this thoughtful video, especially since I can gain very little from just looking at the caption in the UA-cam results and the still image used for it--I think that's called the thumbnail.
Thank you father for your explainations.
This is just a great exhortation. Thank you Father Casey!
..."We must become what we receive.." ❤❤❤
when I became Catholic in college, the Eucharist and believing fully in the doctrine of transubstantiation was one of my biggest draws. now, despite my struggles sometimes, I remain Catholic because of the Eucharist. nowhere else than at communing at Mass do I receive such life for my soul to manage the slings and arrows of this life, and I find myself unable and unwilling to give that up.
I do wonder, Fr Casey, if you have any recommendations for ways to learn more about the theological significance of the Eucharist? books especially but whatever really. I know I wish churches in my area would hold something talking about this, but I haven't found anything yet.
Excellent video Fr Casey. Thank you 🙏
Friar Casey, during one Sunday mass in 2007, I was wondering what should happen to the Eucharist when it was raining and the church was "overly populated" so some had to sit outside under roofings made by the church.
There's no coincidence with God - you can be sure of that
@@reintaler6355 I do, there are many experiences that may seem like a "coincidence" but they actually have deeper meanings in my life...
The Lord is surely great
He was listening.
WOW!!! Awesome message
This is my second time listening to this video... I expect it will not be the last. Much food for thought (and action!) here. Thank you
Beautiful video, fr Casey. God bless!
Outstanding! Pax Domini Sit Semper Vobiscum! Thank You for your fiat!
Thank you Father, awesome insight into the Eucharist.
Profound and excellent as always!!!
I love your teaching Father. You explained the topic exactly. love and prayers from India 🙏
Thank you Father, thèy wèŕe all welcome at the table of Jesus
Thank you for this, Father.
Thank you, Father, thank you.
Such a beautiful word on being transformed by Jesus in the Eucharist! Amen!
Thank you for sharing this video ❤❤❤❤
The mark of an effective Church is NOT how many people come BUT how many people who live differently as a result of having been there.
The Church needs to engage with the people. Sinners as we all are, burdened with our sins and guilt and all the other issues and struggles. I honestly don't know where to start, but the most effective RC church nearby has a long bulletin with lots of information and a weekly calendar. Every week there's a:
Young Adult Bible Study
YA Sorority meeting
One all-day Adoration (morning to 6pm)
YA Fraternity
Lay Carmelites meeting
Pre-mass Rosary (Saturdays)
And informally, generally 1 or more additional informal meetups.
Last month, for Advent & Christmas, there were like 6 additional opportunities between candlelit masses, adoration, and YA events. This month, there's a parish dinner.
Thank you for your videos.
Amen Father, amen! God bless you and the work you do.
It comes down to talking about the real presence often and clearly
Thank you for the explainatiin Father.
This was amazing. Inspiring. Thank you!
Thank you for this video. We'll said Amen
Thank you! You made me cry joyously at the end.
Do you have this video available with subtitles in Spanish???
God bless you father🙏🏻❤️
Thank you for this video ❤️
This is a fantastic message.thank you Father!!
"He doesn't hold our past against our future." Lines like that earn you subs. Love, Your Departed Brother, Tomas.
POPE BENEDICT XVI: "The Eucharist has both a personal and a social character: Christ unites himself with me, but also with those beside me, and so unites himself equally with my neighbor. We are all one bread, one body. And this is communion."
Thank you, Father
Hail Mary and Praise Jesus our Lord and our slayed lamb ✝️✝️
Great video Father! Thank you 🙏
Thank you, Father Casey!
Thank you so so very much for this video
Excellent! Will share! ❤
Happy New year Fr.Casey❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you
My favourite friar, you are Jesus' perfect desciple !!!
Excellent. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

Lovely explanation -- thank you!
Excellent video!
Now this was strong, father. This was something I didn't know I needed to hear. I always believed in transubstination, but that is not enough itself.
I didn't even know exactly what was the eucharist until 2019 when a southern Baptist pastor asked what the catholic church thought about it.
I spent so many years in all kind of protestants churches and here and there in catholic church. Completely lost 😂
Then that pastor told me that the catholic church resacrifies Jesus then it sparked something in me to do my research for the first in my life I did a research to understand my church that I had abandoned because I didn't understand.
Thank you Father 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Hello my favorite Friar❤
Amen to that!
Thank you, Father. I have been a catechist for almost 30 years, and I agree with your message wholeheartedly. I have downloaded the transcript. Would you mind if I printed it and offered it to our parish family?
This video was perfect timing i finish my RCIA and can have my first communion at Easter even after a year of preparation iam getting nervous
"Eucharist" ... it means Thanksgiving. I am so happy that I may give thanks to Jesus at every Mass.
Yes! Yes! That’s it!
Happy new years
A fine video that provides a much more balanced, mission-orientated view of Church than some sort of private members club.
In the Methodist Church we believe in the presence of God in the elements that are blessed at communion!
@@danyshampun549569% of Catholics don’t believe in transubstantiation.
@@danyshampun5495the Bible says Jesus is the head of the church and we are it’s body!
@@danyshampun5495the Bible says not to eat blood! Why would Jesus say to do it? This is a point/debate that causes discord in the church Jesus had built along with the Holy Spirit! It takes away love which is one of the commands of Jesus! So, you do you….in love let’s end this debate!
Like a beautiful liturgy
Thank you Father
