  • It's easy to fall into a routine and lose sight of the little miracles all around us. Unfortunately, it is even easy to fall into a routine and lose sight of the greatest miracle of all, happening right in front of us.
Today, Fr. Mike discusses the greatest gift God has ever given man: himself. Christ offered his body at the Last Supper, he sacrificed it on the Cross, and he continues to give himself to us at each and every Mass. Fr. Mike explains the shocking reality of what it means to eat Jesus' body and drink Jesus' blood. This flesh, the Incarnate Word of God, redeemed the world. His body and blood are what save our fallen human nature and they are what give us life. This miracle, occurring each time we go to Mass, gives us an opportunity to partake in redemption, unite with our Savior, and live a sacramental life.

I am not even Catholic, but I can feel how the Eucharist is CHANGING me - I have started going to adoration every day, as soon as I found out what it really was. The first time I went, I cried. I was scared of RCIA before, but not any more - not after spending all these hours with Him. It feels too right.

I love you, but God will always love you more. Don't be afraid to confess your worries to him, because he is there to listen to your heart, no matter its condition. Because he will always love us unconditionally, and THAT is true love!

I keep hearing that from so many people. That they cried before the Blessed Sacrament. It is incredible because I have been a Catholic all , most, my life , but not until I went as an adult to the Blessed Sacrament for the first time that I could remember, did I cry. It was as joyous as it was like being with someone i love whom I missed thir absence for so long. It's hard to explain. 😢

Fr. Mike your video “The Hour That Will Change Your Life” is the reason I became fascinated with the Eucharist as a spiritually numb Protestant Christian. I am happy to say that I have come into the Church this past July 10th and I am ecstatic that I can literally have Christ within me sacramentally every single day. I’ve never felt closer to Christ in my entire life and I love being in full communion with the one, holy, catholic, and apostolic, Church. God bless you 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

So you were a Christian and now your a Christian? No my friend to be a Christian you MUST belong to the ONLY CHURCH THERE IS the One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church founded by God two thousand year’s ago! Protestant’s are NOT Christian even his holiness Pope St Pius IX said protestant’s are NOT Christian. Please watch Don’t call protestant’s Christian. Protestant’s belong to 40,000+ man made cults which I know isn’t nice to read or know. Protestant so called churches DON’T EXIST. Only Jesus Christ can found a Church NOT sinful men! I’ve recently rejected my so called baptism because it was done in the Cult of England many year’s ago when I mistakenly called it the Church of England,I now accept baptism by DESIRE. Please watch the warning or illumination of conscience by Christine Watkins. Then The Papacy can NOT be destroyed. Then Following Padre Pio! Also watch some excellent priest’s Fr’s Ripperger,Mark Goring,(especially today 29th July and 28th,on a Eucharist miracle),Bill Casey, and Chris Alar. God bless. Praise Jesus and Mary always!!! Ps please buy True Devotion to Mary by St. Louis de Montfort. I ask my guardian angel to help you and your family.

My husband and I had part of John 6 read at our wedding Mass for the Gospel. Some people thought that was weird, but it is the core of our faith and His greatest gift to us. Just as I was joined as one with my husband in the sacrament of marriage, Jesus is one with us when we receive the Eucharist.

WOW WOW WOW!!! 🤯 I am a Protestant but have been on my journey to Catholicism for a few months now doing tons of research and praying. And this video just broke down the last major wall keeping me from the church. I already planned on at least going through the classes, I think called RCIA, but had many reservations about the Eucharist, I just couldn’t wrap my mind around it and feared that would keep me from ever being able to become Catholic. Father Mike, when you brought up the incarnation, my soul cried out in relief, joy and amazement. I am so in love with my Lord and Savior and just overwhelmed with pure joy! It is so ironic that Catholics are so much more knowledgeable and in depth with the Bible, when growing up Protestant in a “Sola Scriptura” environment, learning half truths and complete misconceptions. Protestant beliefs left me feeling lost, confused and with little to no faith. Learning from the Catholic Church has not only brought me back to Jesus, but has allowed me to truly have faith deeply as well as intellectually. The beauty of how everything in the Bible ties together is so miraculous that it can only be God’s word, and now I FINALLY understand the Eucharist and believe in it! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU FATHER MIKE! Thank the Lord I found Catholicism and thank the Lord we have men like you to teach us!!! ❤❤❤ I cannot wait until I have my first communion!

DON'T DO IT.... RESEARCH THE WICKED HISTORY OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH AND HOW THEY USED TO KILL CHRISTIANS!
They worship Mary so they not?
Why do they baptize infants who are without sin?
And do they not believe that a priest can forgive sins which is obviously false?

Transubstantiation is garbage.1John 4:2 Tells us that Jesus came in a real body. Came means in the past. And in a real body means that Jesus was a real physical human being just like us. John is telling us that Jesus was visible to our senses. John also tells us to not deviate from this teaching. John wrote this in90 a.d many years after Jesus died. John did not tell anyone that Jesus was in the local catholic church every sunday in bread and wine. Catholics have changed the word of God and added something to the bible. If Jesus were the bread and wine then John is a liar because John makes it clear that Jesus was in a physical body not bread and wine. And if John is a liar then why do catholics have a bible? Why follow the bible if the bible lies. Because John is not a liar, that means catholics are liars. 1John3:6 tells us that sinners dont know God or understand Him. So catholics cant even teach anyone about God because they don't know God.

The Eucharist- receiving Jesus - transubstantiation - can’t be fully grasp by our limited human understanding. It is a mystery- that is faith. Trust and believe , because if God wants you to understand the details He will reveal them. Some things are a mystery- believing and trusting is faith. Why do we think that all the research we do could ever have us understand the triune God , who is omnipotent, omnipresent, Love infinite …. If you are trying to understand God , then you are reducing Him to your limited knowledge. How can anyone fathom the depth of His infinite Love - the greatest attribute He has shown/given from the beginning, and continues even beyond the centuries to come?

      John 6:35

"he who believes in Me will never thirst.-"--His blood!!!
Whomever FOLLOWS Jesus will NOT hunger--due to His words!!!
Whomever BELIEVES in Jesus will NOT THIRST--due to His words!!!
      ------ Communion
How do you labor for the food that endures to eternal life? Believe in me! (John 6:27, 29) “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me [in faith] shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.” (John 6:35) “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” (John 6:40) “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.” (John 6:47)
      --------------------------------
When the crowd took offense at his gruesome talk, Jesus exposed their unbelief: “The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But there are some of you who do not believe” (John 6:63-64).

Through apostolic succession, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, the Church has faithfully cherished and transmitted the deposit of faith she received from Christ, which includes both Tradition and Scripture in accordance with the Risen Lord's command: "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to the whole creation" (Mk 16:15).

Communion is symbolic its so we remember Jesus us Christianity berad and butter. I need to eat specific DNA to be saved today. Please tell me. I don't mean to have a mocking tone. I think it can be both. It would be difficult, I think, to spread the Word of Salvation and make disciples without feeling good and close with God. Ultimatelly I believe we are responsible for our own salvation, as we have free will. That being the case, anyone is free to be or not to be part of Christ's Holy Church and Worship the Lord as He told his disciples how He wanted to be worshiped and remembered. I think Jesus was very clear that He is present in the Eucharist. Anyway, as people will, they either believe in the Mistery of the Eucharist or dont, as so many protestants do and go after the church of their own choice, fitted to their own temperament and choosing the parts they feel good about. But the Bible itself told of the doubters in john 6 51-58: “This saying is hard; who can accept it?” and left him. As so many still do today. Being a Catholic was never meant to be easy, at least this is what I believe. But we can all try, after all by the Word of Christ Himself: “For human beings this is impossible, but for God all things are possible.” And this rather consoles me very much.

Unfortunately, our protestant brethren DO NOT BELIEVE in God's ACTUAL PRESCENCE in the Holy Eucharist and Consecrated Wine. How sad.
It's because of God's ACTUAL PRESCENCE in the Holy Eucharist and Consecrated Wine, that I have stayed Roman Catholic. Catholics are the only ones who believe in the TRANSFIGUARTION (by GOD) of the bread and wine into the BODY & BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST.

Once you get past the shock of the teaching it seems so obvious that it (almost) cannot be what Jesus meant. But the beauty of it is: He did mean exactly what He said. And all we need to do is believe. So fake it if you need to at first, but then BELIEVE it . Then you will fall in Love.

This is exactly what we need. We are and that’s why it’s so important to know what it is we’re doing at mass. We aren’t just remembering Jesus we are receiving him into our body where He lives within us.

Yes HE abides in us believers!
That's why the bread represents the body/ blood symbolically because HE already abides in us. We feed on the WORD which is HIM

It is also VERY important to know and note that the concordance and related lexicon for those verses describe the meaning of the word "eat" as gnaw, which is why the disciples left and were disgusted, and the meaning of the word "life" (in verse 53) as resurrected life IN THE FLESH!!! It's always been there, just like Father Mike mentioned about "my" vs. "the".
THE flesh refers to sinful flesh that takes life and brings death, while the Spirit of God that is embodied in Jesus brings resurrected life through His perfectly holy and obedient (to the entire law) flesh. So, the flesh of Jesus is also His life giving Spirit, but now it's new life with Him in Heaven instead of just physical life apart from His Spirit here on earth.
The breath of life animates the bodies of both the evil and the good, but it's only His resurrected, eternal flesh that gives that same life of His to those who eat it while honoring Him. We are truly what, or more accurately who, we eat. The bread of faithful obedience that is the flesh of our Lord and Savior, or the fruit of our temptor who is our accuser onto destruction.
We already disobediantly and lustfully ate the first, so now are we going to faithfully and obediently eat the second and the last unto salvation?! Chose wisely!!!
    In Christ,
    Andrew

This is so brilliantly helpful. I am friends with many Christians who do not believe in the True Presence. They also point to the 'bread' being the 'word' that feeds us. However this short talk points to everything that shows that what Jesus said 'is' exactly what He says. I have always believed that the Eucharist is Jesus but I've had difficulty discussing with my Christian friends. Thank you Fr Mike and God bless all at Ascension.

I love the part of the mass when the priest says the Epiclesis prayer, calling the Holy Spirit to hover over the alter. It is not the priest, who is in the flesh, that change bread and wine, it is God in the Spirit. “It is the Spirit that gives life, while the flesh is of no avail.” Our ordained, wonderful priests commit their lives for that ultimate purpose, to bring us into “Communion” with the Creator of the Universe!

As a Catholic revert (missed 35 years) of now almost eight years, I can't tell you how much I love going to daily Mass and Sunday Mass and Holy Days of Obligation. I always try to sit in the very front pew so I can be even that much closer to Jesus in that moment.
I don't know that before I left the Church in my mid-20s that I truly understood what it was that was happening on the altar during Mass. During the consecration of the bread and wine when both are transformed into the body and blood of Jesus, and the priest holds them up to God, I say quietly to myself, "My Lord and my God," calling to mind the words of St. Thomas, who, when he finally saw Jesus resurrected and believed.

I love hearing the stories of so many of my Protestant brothers and sisters who have become Catholic. Their inspiration has helped to clear the path for people from all walks of life: atheists and unbelievers who have found the faith by experiencing the true understanding of Jesus through conversion and the Eucharist.Receiving Christ in the Eucharist will not only give you peace but it will change you in ways that will amaze you each and every day. Your life in Christ is your protection from evil. He gave us the Eucharist! How lucky we are that He loved us so much! Christ is with us! Nothing else matters! God Bless!

The smoke of satan has entered the church. Sadly many of our leaders are easily led astray. Unfortunately they closed our churches denying us the most precious nourishment of our faith for around two years. Very sad. But it somehow increased my faith and led me to meditate, pray and fast and grow closer to Jesus. God does work in mysterious ways.

Yes we have to “eat” Our Lord to live. We are cut from the Rock that is higher than us. From out of God all sustenance comes. He spoke and the Energy in His Word created the planets, the sun and all matter and antimatter. Man does not live alone by bread but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Amen!

In January 1973, Pope Paul VI, in the instruction "Immensae Cariatis," extended this permission to the universal Church. He wrote "Present-day conditions demand that É greater access to Holy Communion should be made possible so that the faithful, by sharing more fully in the fruits of the sacrifice of the Mass, might dedicate themselves more readily and effectively to God and to the good of the ChurchÉ First of all, provision must be made lest reception become impossible or difficult owing to a lack of a sufficient number of ministers."

Years ago John Michael Talbot came to our little town and performed his music in our local Catholic church. I was a young man, barely saved and in a lovely Free Methodist church. I knew nothing about anything except that Jesus is awesome, the Holy Spirit is powerful and with us, and I had very recently begun to understand Gods call to be holy. (I had heard JMT's CDs a friend had). To the point, about halfway through he sang a song about the Holy Eucharist. I'm not sure I had ever even heard that word before but I knew the Holy Spirit. Immediately the Presence of God flooded the sanctuary and I melted into tears, feeling overwhelmed by joy and gratitude. It was a Holy moment I will never forget.

The love of our redeemer who wanted to leave a piece of him inside his faithful. On the last day we cannot resurrect on our own. we have to have a piece of him for angels to gather us on that fateful day, when the Sun and moon have moved away and there is darkness all over the four corners, only the glow of the Eucharist in the faithful. Our Lord was absolutely insistent with his followers to the point of losing his followers on this truth and mystery. Only Peter and the twelve "Lord, to whom shall we go, You have the words of eternal life…"
and for this reason when was the last time you seen an incorruptible relic exposed to natural elements, of a protestant or other denominations. Its only among Catholics and perhaps Orthodox, you find this mystery and a miracle, unexplained by science.
