Been watching you guys for a number of months...keep up the great work! As someone who has been in the hobby on and off for many years, I love seeing the spark of enjoyment as people talk about new and old army ideas, and ways they build and create their own unique armies. I have collected many armies, both 40k, Warhammer Fantasy and now AOS. I just need to work on the actually completing the painting part fully on and entire army, and keep painting, so I can play my games with all models painted.
Thanks for the kind words! Yeah the hard part is always getting to a complete army but it’s a great sense of accomplishment when you’ve got it all painted!
Start small and Rule of Cool are vital. Favourite armies recently are ones I've started with a single character and squad that I love, spend time getting the aesthetic and head-canon right and then building slowly around that. Dont even worry about having a fieldable army to start, just create something you connect to and youll get there
I can relate so much to the burn out. I have started so many new armies and just came to a block in inspiration to continue, sometimes it's when I lose a game with them or I am not just not a fan of the colour scheme anymore. But I am really hyped for Heresy atm, my Iron Hands are such an easy paint scheme and they have such variety. And who doesn't love Space Marines with bionics?! Awesome video guys, keep up the Emperor's work!
I know personally, I do best doing it a unit or two a time. Large boxes intimidate me and really suck the buzz out once I see the pile of sprues in front of me. This is probably why I tend towards more elite armies. Tank heavy guard or Custodes.
Great video Boys, for any new players looking at space marines I recommend doing them as deathwatch, and your favorite chapter gives you two armies for price of 1, or possible 3 in new edition if you do them as Dark angels, blood angels or Templars.
My project for this edition (for now) is 1000 Points of painted T'au. I don't have that much time to spend on the hobby itself, so I'd rather have a small painted force than a dozen or so projects that range between the newfound enthusiasm of a new project up until the point of half abandoned kits that just spend dust. Your channel is lovely by the way!
Hey just showing some support I've been a Warhammer fan since 2005 in high school and now January I got my first Army necrons and now I have 1850 points and I f****** love this game... I got it and it though as fun as it is the community and how inviting and friendly! everybody is is the best part!!!
I split the AoS Arcane Cataclysm box last Xmas, finally put together my Tzeentch half. Have since added both the Tzeentch Underworlds warbands as those are great character models
Great video guys! I fell into the trap of trying too many factions and not committing to them. So went a got more into the lore and looked at the factions I liked most and chose one of those to commit to. After getting into the lore through the books and watching lore videos it had to be Space Wolves Plus like you say Space Marines are cheaper to buy and easier to paint and become painter
Been reading the 30k lore for years, started dnd order minis started painting those I liked it. Asked my dm if he still plays warhammer no but wanted back in the game bought ultimate starter pack splits it. And going to assemble tonight. Gonna try it out for next few months if I like it I'm gonna buy Christmas boxes a couple. Starting with blues and will probbly switch over to another chap when the vlchristmas boxes are out
Now that Imperium magazine is pretty much wrapping up I'm finally cracking into that GIANT pile of shame. This weekend i have built 3 of the 4 premium boxes though.
Love your vids. I’ve not had any warhammer since I was a kid but a coupled of weeks ago 2 random guys sat next to me and my family in a coffee shop and brought out blood bowl. Had a brief chat with one guy and he mentioned a gaming shop nearby… I know have the age of sigmar starter set and a couple of army boxes. Thinking about 40k too. Send help.
Christmas boxes are *usually* a great deal to start a new army or to expand a newly started army. It's just unfortunate for those (like me) that just started a Space Marine army in 2023 and looked at that year's Christmax box...
Well, except for the 2023 Space Marine one. :P (It is still better than buying those boxes on their own, of course. It was just such a disappointment.)
I’m completely stuck between death guard and world eaters. I really like the looks and feel of death guard, but I’ve heard that they aren’t the best. That’s why I started looking at world eaters and I think they look pretty cool too and I just can’t decide.
Best advice we can give is to not pick an army based on game performance, as the meta changes so much and so frequently. Pick an army you love and think is cool. The rest will fall into place and the game performance will have changed yet again when you finish painting 😁
If possible start with Boarding Actions or Combat Patrols. You can build and paint 500 points so easily these days - between contrast paints, airbrush and oils and handy free online tutorials. If you enjoy the process for 500 points and if playing the army feels right you can expand from there. And now ignore the fact that this sound advice was made by someone with several companies of Dark Angels that are being built and painted...
I'm stating a new army in the next few months. Returning to 40k after 15 years. Looking into Eldar, and thinking of picking up the Rangers/Banshees/Combat patrol!
I dont consider it a pile of shame. It's a mountain built apon my loft ambition 💪 ✨️ 😎 I shall ascend it, continuously finding more projects and adding to the highest point on the mountain.
08:45 this is absolutely reckless advice for anyone that works minimum wage. You have to balance cool, and not completely handicapping yourself in a game too. yes, chasing the meta is a fools game, but just buying out whatever without a little homework is bad too.
Unless the Emperor's Children get their own codex and models for 40k in 2024, I'm not going to be starting any new armies. I want to get my Blood Angels successor chapter to 3k points so I have lots of options for 2k point games, and get my wife's Adepta Sororitas and Orks over 2k points each. If I get those accomplished and still have time and money, next up will be adding to my Ynnari.
Are you starting a new army? Are you an existing player or a new person in the hobby? Leave us a “kromment”, we’d love to hear!
I have already made two army’s one off wich being necrons I’m just seeing what else I like the look off

Totally right! We know first hand that whole armies end up coming for the love of one character!
I can relate so much to the burn out. The burnout is so real, especially if someone is only just getting into the hobby! Thanks!
Love all your vids keep em coming:)

Thanks! Oh deathwatch is a great shout!
Can’t wait for these guys to hit the algorithm
Hopefully soon!
They just did now im in

That’s a great mind set to have, you’ll find you suffer with burnout less!

The community is absolutely the best part! Glad to have you aboard mate. Beep boops forever 🤖
@the_kieran_show I'd like to help you Channel as much as possible if you need any footage of models painting or necron combat let me know.
I split the AoS Arcane Cataclysm box last Xmas, finally put together my Tzeentch half. Have since added both the Tzeentch Underworlds warbands as those are great character models
Oooo that was a good box!

We have both fallen into the trap many times, like Kieran’s world eaters army that never was…

Sounds great! The Christmas boxes are a really good way in to an army!

3 in a weekend! Good effort!

Help?! You've got all the help you need in those boxes 👀
Christmas boxes are *usually* a great deal to start a new army or to expand a newly started army.

Yeah the Christmas boxes are always a sure thing for an army. Excited to see what they are in 2024!
Well, except for the 2023 Space Marine one. :P

“Do as I say, not as I do” 😀
I'm stating a new army in the next few months. Returning to 40k after 15 years. Looking into Eldar, and thinking of picking up the Rangers/Banshees/Combat patrol!
That's so exciting! Welcome back to the hobby! Eldar have got some phenomenal models, you'll certainly have alot of fun with them.
Don't forget to like and kromment 👍
Always need the kromments
I dont consider it a pile of shame.
It's a mountain built apon my loft ambition 💪 ✨️ 😎

😂😂😂😂
Started a Grey Knights army and I may have gone a bit crazy with the amount I got
Grey knights is a wicked choice! Fantastic army
Start? How bout finish?
See, we don't have that kind of advice 🙃🙃

Yes, buy things that enable you to play the game. But still buy the army and units that you deem as "cool" and draws you in after some homework.
Love the vids say ww
