You should try that once.. I did, Group C cars at Sebring. It rarely went well.. and when you think you can do it, you have a moment and you instinctively apply opposite-opposite lock, ending your day quick!
The hybrid regen is as per real life. The driver has no real control over it other than being able to tweak the delivery severity pre stage. The regen is only done at 100% braking power and as soon as itje battery reaches 100% it's deployed at once. As soon as you lift off the throttle the battery resets to zero and you start charging again regardless of how much you use. It's been a real education for the drivers this last few years when it comes to getting the heat out of the system.
@@purwantiallan5089 it is, but they had to include it to be realistic and WRC Generations had it as well. It was one of the features I thought they did a good job of in that game. I’ll admit I’ve since switched back to DR2.0 in anticipation of this game.
@@ryanmorrison3699I'm from Chile, and I remember WRC+ being at a discount towards the end of the season, but this year, you still have to pay for a full year. Did not pay to see my country roads.
@@ryanmorrison3699more exposure would be good for the sport. So even getting some of the stages or the recap on more networks would be good. I'm in Australia so we only have an option of the streaming service stan with some of the stages or the very expensive WRC+/rallytv sub. I use the rallytv. Being able to watch every stage live is bloody cool though. I'd say it's still too expensive but if you do have the chance to watch 90% of the rally's live each time they are on it's worth it
I'm almost certain that hybrid is realistic in the game. If you have full charge you're deploying it depending of the battery setting. If you press brake when you're on, let's say half of charge, it resets. It was exactly like that in KT's WRC Generations and I observe it watching onboards during rallies.
However it ends up working in the release version, I really hope they explain it in a tutorial or something. Just to explicitly say what the rules of it are.
Im not so sure about that, it seems to me that the drivers get hybrid out of most corners, to me it seems its dependent on throttle position, gear and RPM, and it can be changed, sometimes you have hybrid only in like 2nd and 3rd, sometimes also in 4th. I havent noticed that it has separate regen and boost modes, it always regens on brake and as long as youre not out it also always boosts on acceleration. Right now it seems to not really work, if you brake even a little mid corner you instantly lose boost which seems weird to me
If I was to shift my fanatec h pattern shifter like that it would stop working within a week lol. On a serious note I’m very happy they added cutting penalties to this game. Dirt Rally 2.0 leaderboards were littered with major sections being cut and it was annoying
I have a feeling those same people will find ridiculous cuts in this game as well, it'll just be a case of "is does this cut make up more time than the penalty costs?" We'll have to see I guess
@@Katastra_ Funny thing is some games encourage cuts too. Games like Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi survivor where people do speed runs. Jedi survivor should take about about 19-20 hours if done on easiest game mode, but the speed run record is I think about 28 minutes. Makers knew the exploits that were used to do same in Fallen Order but left it so you could do same in the second one. So what's annoying in one type of game is fun for others in other types.
Imagine WRC would've kept the late 90's and early 00's regulations, where they didn't give a damn abt the time of day, length of stages, the weather. That was true gold, and I think the game would be EVEN MORE fun then it is now. (and that would be a damn lot)
I wanted to say this in the first video already, but since you made the comparison too, seeing this game somehow REALLY reminds me of the golden days of Colin Mcrae Rally. I am now really excited for this game as it really looks a the perfect game to relive my childhood memories of playing hundreds and hundreds of hours of those games with my family. Your excitement is contagious!
Always good to hear Nicky Grist's voice as co-driver. Codies/EA it would be nice to have an event in the game that pays homage to its roots, with various stages featuring Colin McRae's cars over the years. Focus, Impreza, Legacy, Sierra, maybe even the Sunbeam.
Fun facts - longest rally stages in video games: 1 - 58,92 kilometers - Pundershaw from 1996 Network Q RAC Rally Championship, 2 - 42,82 kilometers - also Pundershaw, but from 1999 Mobil 1 Rally Championship
admittedly the graphics in RC where kinda bad, the map looked almost the same for kilometers 😂 Here Codemastera made a fantastic job, I have seen footage of this stage and they absolutely nailed the lighting and vibe
@@miguelelgueta5830 hey dude :), these are 1996 and 1999 games from, at the time, much smaller studio than Codemasters. And the stage, as in real life, goes entirely on gravel roads through the Kielder Forest, so tell me, how would you spiced up entirely foresty stage? :) Mind you, in 1999 RC there are also stages going through multiple villages, on very narrow tarmac and gravel roads, between houses, hedges, fances, gardens... RC also had very diverse environments. At least Magnetic Fields tried to do something interesting, by recreating real UK rally stages 25 years ago. Where they really failed, was the trashy driving physics and horrible engine sounds, rest was pretty much ok.
For me the best type of rally game is sim enough to give me the right sounds and as close to a decent real feeling of what the car is doing, while being game enough to be less harsh and unforgiving as a real car/rally is. It's just more entertaining and less frustrating. Sim racing on a track is a little more forgiving of mistakes always causing race over than a rally is.
9:37 Rally is the reason I got into sim-racing and is still by far my favourite games to play. I do enjoy occasional tarmac-track racers but nothing engages me quite like rally.
This looks like so much fun. And imagine with one of the slower cars, this stage would take way over 30 minutes! I can't wait to jump into one of these Rally1 machines myself!
The draw distance makes a massive difference, it looks more of a ‘world’ rather than just a narrow corridor we’ve been used to. I’m looking forward to it
What you were saying about it being more like a game and less like a sim is exactly what I'm after. iRacing and stuff leads me to be burnt out on simracing because it's stress most the time I'm on it. The new Forza and hopefully this really seem to find the nice middle ground where it drives like a sim but is more forgiving on the realism.
I don’t know if anyone else has done this but watching a Dirt replay on UA-cam with the pace notes, and turning on closed captions is possibly the funniest thing ever. Seriously try it if you haven’t.
You're right about the game comment. I love sim racing games more than any other genre, but I think we forget that having "gamified" aspects to the game can be a great thing! We get too caught up on what is most realistic that we can easily kill the fun for ourselves.
It's a bit early I know, but here's some features that would be nice to see in the next WRC, or maybe as updates to this game 😁 : Recce, cross fitting tyres, driving from one stage to another, dynamic weather, more interactive pacenotes (like in DR 2.0). Features not even RBR had!
Hey Jimmer, I know you probably won't see this, but writing this out feels like it's helping me. I've been watching your videos since the days of the Shed and your videos and content have always made me smile and laugh. I've been going through a hard time right now and they still make me smile and laugh when I have felt like I wasn't capable. Thanks and pls no punterino Jimmer
Thanks, mate! This has made my day if not my week. It's just been some personal stuff I've been going through and adjusting to. I know it just takes time, but your videos have been helping that process a lot.
From my understanding of the regen it will utilize once you rbring your throttle open past a certain point (its what the bar on the outside left of the tack is represetning. How far the pedal has to push to activate ((the lightning bolt))) once on. it will not STOP unless you completely lift off throttle (which maybe wrong) or hit the brakes. Once either of those has been detected you loose the remaining boost. Boost is generated under heavy braking.
Great run, Jimmer, right up to the final kilometre but it's so fun to do and it's a proper workout as well. By the way, you should've gone into championship solo mode and selected the same stage but with max degradation. It just adds a whole new layer to it with those ruts and difference in grip those provide compared to the loose gravel out of them. There are other effects as well the max degradation adds on top of that.
Sounds like a job for your channel! BTW there is growing controversy now about physics with this game, will be interesting to hear your take on grip levels, pivot (or not) handling, etc on gravel.
@@Jcushing5 My final video will be one with max degradation. There is indeed growing controversy but that's mainly because people oversimplify things way too much. It's on a central pivoting point and nothing else for most of them. There is far more to it than just that and there are reasons why the the central pivot point element is one of the aspects used to design the physics. If I can keep my discussion section of the video short enough so the whole video (including gameplay) stays under 15 minutes then I'll include it. That's the limited length of each preview build videos we need to keep ourselves to in most cases. Very long stages or streams are different of course. If it's not possible I'll leave it for one my post-launch videos.
Rally is probably the racing genre where you can get the closest to a proper sim and it still be a good, fun, game, because throwing something down a rally stage is just fun. You just have to pick cars that fit your skill level.
Realism and fun have little to do with one another; it's the systems you build around the game that make it fun or not. BeamNG is pretty uncompromising in its realism and nobody can deny it's fun to do literally anything in that game.
Im terrible at rally games, but I cant wait for it to come out. I feel the same way you did about sim racing and the idea of sims vs "games". I love racing but the likes of AC and Automobilista bore me quite easily now (I can only do so many time trials and random races) and I'm not dedicated enough to invest all my money and time in iRacing. I really hope this will reignite the passion. With all the cars, all the tracks and what looks like a great career mode, this just feels like a breath of fresh air. Also have to respect the developers. Seems EA gave Codies the resources they needed and just let them get on with it. If only this was the case for the F1 games.
I really like the feature in Dirt 2.0 of driving up to the Marshall at the end of the stage, just gives that realistic feel so you cant just fang it over the line sideways into a cut scene
Well, now I am properly excited for this game. As for the hybrid, that is how the system works in real life. Once you hit full regen, it deploys, you can lift or go lighter throttle then, but any tap of the brake resets the system to zero. In a lot of cases you may not want to stay on throttle as long exiting a corner if there is say, a slight kink you can coast through lifting early vs tapping the brake to get through it. That way you'll hve the hybrid exiting that kink as well if that makes sense.
Рік тому
Hybrid is working as in real life. In order to activate the boost, you need to regen certain amount of energy (controled by 1 regen engine map chosen at service). Then, when you accelerate, the boost aplies automatically (based on 1 boost map chosen at service). And, depending on the stage, the amount of energy available in those boost depends on the length of the stage. Shorter stages mean more energy available.
hey jimmy. havent watched the whole video yet but on the topic of the hybrid boost, codemasters got alot of insight of how it works from M-sport Ford i think if i remembered correctly, and i think that is how they work irl.
It's absolutely wild that we are still even talking about Richard Burns rally nowadays and it makes me wonder why no one can seem to get it quite as right.
They don't *want* to get it right like that. Games WRC 2023 sell like hot cakes. They offer a good enough challenge and realism, whilst giving a frenetic and fun experience - and as you start getting the hang of it, it makes you feel like a good driver pretty quickly; it's good for the human ego, which of course will catch the attention of newcomers and will keep the seasoned players interested. It's designed to sell. But the likes of RBR are quite exasperating initially, and it takes longer to become good at them. The icing on the cake is that real physics, and therefore RBR's NGP physics as well, aren't frenetic unless you are skilled. All this makes casual players to lose interest quickly. But it's said that the physics of racing games are getting more and more realistic. Hopefully this keeps going in that direction. Games like this WRC 2023 can definitely carry more people into the simulation world, and all that people may get increasingly hungrier for more realism. I want this official game to become a full-blown simulator, specially because that will carry more people into the real thing - I mean, I liked the real WRC after I knew about Colin McRae Rally 2.0, and I started loving the WRC due to simulators!
Hello Jimmy great drive was always, but my opinion on this game remember this is a work on progress, this game look good on graphics, cars, sounds, stage design, but one thing i dont see on this game because is important for any rally fans and virtual rally pilots is the car physics. When we turn right the car leans to the left, when turn left the car leans to the right, when we put the foot on throttle the car have to lift off a bit the front and down the rear, when we put the foot on the brake the car have to lift off the back and down the front, the car have to slide more, this is the realistic car movement on the stage. This game is feels you driving a heavy rock on the stage feels for me very arcade game not simulation. Ea and Codemasters dont disappoint the rally fans please.
I compare the mistakes at the end of the stage to suddenly needing to poop really bad when you pull into your driveway. Your body knows you're almost done and it's time to relax
I have seen in other Videos that the car physics are kind of odd. The car doesn't turn with the front tires but around the center of the car. Which means, that the back tires always feel to be sliding and you can't turn in as well for shicanes. It has been a "problem" in Dirt Rally 2.0 and I hope they don't continue that. It has the upside of making the car feel more "agile" but the downside of it not being as realistic and it feeling strange or tarmac. You can get used to that, but I realized that that is one (of many) reason why I crash sometimes where I don't know what exactly I did wrong (because I expected the car to behave like a car).
Pretty sure the charged hybrid only engages when you're past 80% throttle. On the left of the HUD gauge is the throttle position indicator and there's a very clear line denoting the hybrid engagement point.
5:00 I don't really understand the calls yet so I mainly just race by visuals, I take the number and direction to kind of base my entry speed which is kinda the point but I don't know the reasons behind it all.
Just did a 28:50.859 in the Citroen Xsara. First time I've done the route and on an xbox controller too if that's at all relevant on things like this idk. But I'm pretty happy with that.
Seems wrong with the hubrid. M-sport fords explenation last year...and I quote: "The length of time that hybrid boost is available does depend on how hard the driver presses the pedal, you know how much output they want form the car as a whole" And then he say if it is dry he can go full power and it will last for a shorter amount of time. The total energy per boost event is dictated by FIA, and changes depending on stage length. But If i remember another explanation, the teams have control how they use that energy specified in 3 hybrid maps set before the rally event and you can only switch map before the stage. On the stage you can pause deployement for 30s , nothing more, for say icy monaco wanting a more stable power deployment, corner to corner as you are grip limited, not power limited in those cases
Much like you, I’ve been waiting desperately for a proper racing “game”. I spent many hours in the pre-EA Codie’s F1 games for that very reason. Glad to see you excited to be sim-racing again!

We Ralley! 10°C and dry gravel at the Start uphill and -10°C an icy conditions at the finish? We Ralley. Night or Fog and shitty road conditions? We Ralley even faster!
This game looks like a worthy successor to the DiRT Rally series, yet captures that initial passion for rallying that Codies had in CMR and CMR2. I really hope they release a CMR 'pack' that gives us the Escort WRC, Corolla WRC and Lancer Evolution IV from the first game in 1998 - for nostalgia. The one thing I've not yet seen on any video is the livery editor.
"The one thing I've not yet seen on any video is the livery editor" Is it possibly one of the things they don't want shown in the preview? Creators have been very careful with what they can/can't show off with the preview of the game, like the Sweden event for example.
Can't wait till this game comes out and give it a spin, just got into Rally, I was looking for a new Challenge and get a little brake from Traffic and Track driving, just bought Dirt Rally 2.0 and loved it right from the beginning, so rewarding and fun if you manage a highspeed run without any incidents!
"I only listen to the big calls." Yeah I do the same thing only last night I actually tried to listen to all calls and found I was driving too cautiously.
This is not how gravel roads look like - no camber, ruts, surfaces variability etc... It's pretty easy to make such long stage if you don't care about such things. The roadside is pretty detailed on the other hand. Probably good enough for the purposes of a game for casual players though.
I have a feeling this is similar to DR 2.0, where the time trial mode enables the best stage quality, while the Career/Championship mode will have more progression with surface wear (the ruts and lesser grip you mention) as you finish in different splits.
@@Teknas89 Obviously... I mean why would they have degradation in time trials where you're the only car? And by the way if this dumbo wants to call us "casual" players, he can go to his pixelated 20 year old game (we all know he's part of the snobby RBR hipster army) and leave us the fuck alone... I mean if it's realistic enough for the ERC and WRC champions (Jon Armstrong & Kalle Rovampera... Armstrong passionately defends this as a pure sim in driving physics) then it's good enough for me... I mean who gives a fuck about the snobby hipsters anyway... And these "fake roads" he talks about are actual REAL ROADS taken from satelites and are 100% real... yeah... the no camber fake roads he whines about... not as good as RBR fake roads, right? Real life must be a bitch...
The one thing that really annoys me about rally games, even the best ones like RBR doesn't do ruts, and if there is any they are very spaced out. But I think it's partially done for gameplay reasons, if you hit a rut the wrong way in the wet at the speeds they drive at it will flip your car or get you stuck
Jimmy did you notice that WRC23 pivot point of the cars is off? It's like a four wheel steering. Just like Dirt rally 2.0's. The pivot point should be o 0:36 ver the rear axle.
I wasn't going to bother with this game, but then i saw someone driving a tight stage in Sardinia in the 2019 Fiesta WRC and thought to myself that actually looks sick af. Im glad its fun to drive. These cars should be fun to drive. You can bet your life they would be fun to drive in real life. They shouldn't be awkward or tricky or difficult to drive. Real cars are easy to drive. The only difficult part should be driving a stage faster than everyone else without crashing.
25mins to cover 35km, it took me 25 mins to cover 30km in a similar car in the game yesterday :joy: You always talk down on your driving Jimmer but thats still way better than I can do for sure, and far cleaner :P
I did two of those longest stages in a Lancia Delta S4 yesterday. Geez, I strained my right arm. It's awesome tho to have those long stages in game. Gotta be careful all the time :D
one thing i want from this game right now are just a good framerate, no dipping at all even on a mid-end PC on medium setting 1080p, the game run smooth
To be honest, I don't understand how people come to determine that RBR is the superior simulator, or that the physics are better, more realistic, whatever? Like that is an objective thing? To be honest I played both dirt, dirt 2.0 and RBR quite a bit and I have no idea how I would make up my mind on what is more realistic or in what aspect. Especially when it comes to the handling. I have never driven a WRC car you know? It seems to be so much of a preference or expectations thing. I really don't understand what it would even mean to not be "on par" with RBR.
Some WRC2 and WRC drivers have said so. Kalle Rovanpera used to play RBR and used it to help get back into rally driving when training. Lots of reviewers including Jimmy have said DR2 and this game physics are more forgiving. The front end has more grip than IRL and as such it's easier to get the car to rotate and brakes are stronger. Even Kalles "impression" video of this game says he wishes his real car was this forgiving or something. Now that doesn't mean this game will be bad. Its just that it's not full sim at all cost as Jimmy states. RBR is awesome with certain stage and car combos but its also many cars and stages are meh as well. I think the biggest difference for me driving RBR vs DR2 is that in DR2 you can drive with more recklessness and be able to save the car. In RBR, you have to drive with more attention to braking points and be more nuanced with the braking. That's also because stages in DR2 were generally shorter and wider too. This looks awesome though.
@@g.s.8108 Yeah, I think I actually agree with you on that. It does feel like the cars are gripping up too early in the corners. Or perhaps that means they are underdriving the car? But I think that is what I mean. Like motorsport and sim racing fans come in with a certain expectation of how a car should behave because we already have a certain eye or feel for that. And when a car does not behave like that it's bad. But I am kind of skeptical when using this to judge the physics or handling of a game or simulator or creating some pecking order. Like looking at this, I actually like some things I see in the handling more than in RBR. RBR can be a little too slidey in my opinion. Also the stages and surface and the way the car interacts with details in the surface seems better here. Also in Dirt I feel like the road has a bit more of a presence. In RBR you are kind of sliding on top. But I would still agree that the movement of the car in RBR in general looks a bit more like the genuine thing.
@@HiroKone true. Us sim gamers have some impression of how a race car should drive and its probably wrong. Also theres this notion, harder = realism which is true to a point only. Few if any of us really know what a Rally 1 car drives like or even what a prepped rally car with rally tires drive like. Some people feel like anything not tarmac should feel like driving on mud and ice, which is not the case. Depending on the type of gravel and dirt and who much the road has been swept, may actually have a surprising amount of grip. I think RBR gets it closer than EA WRC though based on what reviewers and Kalle has said. He didnt give it a in depth review but that off the cuff remark about how the game is forgiving is telling. I wonder if codies programmed you to he disadvantaged in some way if you are the first on a gravel road and sweeping the course.
@@nuztuz903 I watched Kalles video again and you are right, he said the game's WRC Yaris reacts like his real car. I was thinking more about his comment that he wishes he can be as brave IRL as he is in the game, which I interpreted initally as the game is more forgiving and has a greater margin for error. But it more likely refers to him driving a game and not IRL. At the same time, kalles video is essentially a paid advertisement so.... Having said that DR2 physics certainly has OP front end grip, OP brakes. And the rear rotated too easily, with the slightest weight transfer to the front. IRL it takes more effort to unweight the rear. Not enough weight transfer and you understeer, too much and you overload the fronts and understeer. In DR2, you breath on the brakes and the car rotates and at the same time, the front end seemed to have endless grip and control under braking. Jimmy and some of the reviewers have made comments about the new game being a tad forgiving and too grippy as well. He also has said that if RBR has great gravel physics, this game has very good gravel physics which is awesome to hear. I am really excited to play it.
gonna make for a tiring evening doing a few recce runs on stages like that before online events. I fear though that these longer stages as fascinating they may well be will be detrimental to the jump in the rig and play for a couple hours simplicity of the Dirt Rally 1 and 2.0 games, of which I had over 1000 hours in each. The Kylotron WRC games barely saw me getting into the 100s of hours often because they were just a bit tedious in the longevity of the stages
I just wish they could still fix the physics issue in the game. The physics seem to compute everything around the center of gravity, including the rotation on tarmac. It should compute forces according to the center of gravity but then it should consider the direction of the tires and contact patches instead of rotating the car around the center of gravity on tarmac (which makes the rear wheels slide around the center of gravity even on small speeds).
Oh man, oh man. That seemed so fun. I cant wait to dip my toes on WRC. Really looks promising. I wish they play with shaders a little bit. Make it prettier. All in all, it has potential.
my only gripe is that this is the only Toyota in the game. Here's hoping that Toyota is a bit more lenient on their licenses for this game, so we can get the Celica, WRC Corolla, and maybe even the TCT in Group B RWD. The TCT especially, as it hasn't been featured in many games *at all* despite showing up in a lot of 80s rally footage.
Got a new wheel friday and got it sorted out yesterday. Now watching these videos made me pre-order this though I´d like a full sim like RBR, but this really looks good and sounds like fun according to almost everybody who have had the chance to pre-view it.
7:27 That sounds to me, unfortunately, like Codemasters have stuck with the same thing that bugged me in DR2. It feels like the cars accelerate on the power-curve of the engines, rather than the torque-curve. In-game that means high revs is always king. Which shouldn't necessarily always be true. In a real car the torque is what pushes you forward. If you stay in the same gear and accelerate through the rev-range the hardest acceleration will occur when the engine is at its peak torque, not peak power. For all intents and purposes here, peak power always occurs at higher revs than peak torque. So by staying in the same gear when the revs drop below peak power, the torque should actually increase and help push the revs back up again. But in DR2, and by the looks of things in the new WRC game too, this isn't the case. Too bad. Still very much looking forward to playing this though.
Not only did Jimmy do the longest WRC stage, but he did it with inverted steering. Truly the greatest sim-racer of our generation.

If I was to shift my fanatec h pattern shifter like that it would stop working within a week lol. On a serious note I’m very happy they added cutting penalties to this game. Dirt Rally 2.0 leaderboards were littered with major sections being cut and it was annoying
5 minutes stages done in 3 minutes... It was so annoying.
I have a feeling those same people will find ridiculous cuts in this game as well, it'll just be a case of "is does this cut make up more time than the penalty costs?" We'll have to see I guess
You need a rock solid sequential shifter for this game
@@Katastra_ Funny thing is some games encourage cuts too. Games like Jedi Fallen Order and Jedi survivor where people do speed runs. Jedi survivor should take about about 19-20 hours if done on easiest game mode, but the speed run record is I think about 28 minutes. Makers knew the exploits that were used to do same in Fallen Order but left it so you could do same in the second one. So what's annoying in one type of game is fun for others in other types.
It's still annoying but I can live with it, you must ignore the first 10 places 😀 but yea, I don't understand why they do it.
Imagine WRC would've kept the late 90's and early 00's regulations, where they didn't give a damn abt the time of day, length of stages, the weather. That was true gold, and I think the game would be EVEN MORE fun then it is now. (and that would be a damn lot)
Yeah I think they should have proper night rallies at least one stage per rally.
It's a slight shame though because as far as I know it was those regs that Citroen weaponized to make Seb Loeb the legend he is
@@joeogle7729 Sadly that is the thing. But still, those were insane regs, like group b with some actual safety.
They don't care about weather, they always drive no matter the weather conditions. and night stages are not completely gone either
Yes but you barely ever see bad weather anymore, maybe 1 in 4 rallies, and night stages are so rare if you don't include sss-stages.
Fun facts - longest rally stages in video games:
1 - 58,92 kilometers - Pundershaw from 1996 Network Q RAC Rally Championship,
2 - 42,82 kilometers - also Pundershaw, but from 1999 Mobil 1 Rally Championship
admittedly the graphics in RC where kinda bad, the map looked almost the same for kilometers 😂
Here Codemastera made a fantastic job, I have seen footage of this stage and they absolutely nailed the lighting and vibe
Mind you, in 1999 RC there are also stages going through multiple villages, on very narrow tarmac and gravel roads, between houses, hedges, fances, gardens...
Sim racing on a track is a little more forgiving of mistakes always causing race over than a rally is.
agreed. this seems to strike the perfect balance that DR2.0 had as well
For me, crashing out in rally sucks because you don't get to see the rest of the stage! At least on a circuit you know you'll see the whole thing lol.
@@8thlvlMage unless you crash on the first lap lololol
I'd love to see how fast this stage will be in the slowest car when the game releases.
You're right about the game comment. I love sim racing games more than any other genre, but I think we forget that having "gamified" aspects to the game can be a great thing! We get too caught up on what is most realistic that we can easily kill the fun for ourselves.
This looks like genuine fun! I might pick it up and see how it is on a gamepad.
Should be pretty fun on that too. DR2 sure can be and this should be even better.
I wish it had motion steering like gran turismo
Will be doing the same, DR2.0 is great with a gamepad.

Oh for crying out loud
I'm gonna need to spend a good chunk of change on a trip for my wife so I have enough time to really enjoy this game at the end of the month.
The intro… That Colin McRae 3 soundtrack is a masterpiece ❤
Hey Jimmer, I know you probably won't see this, but writing this out feels like it's helping me. I've been watching your videos since the days of the Shed and your videos and content have always made me smile and laugh. I've been going through a hard time right now and they still make me smile and laugh when I have felt like I wasn't capable. Thanks and pls no punterino Jimmer
You got this bro ❤
Thanks, mate! This has made my day if not my week. It's just been some personal stuff I've been going through and adjusting to. I know it just takes time, but your videos have been helping that process a lot.
From my understanding of the regen
it will utilize once you rbring your throttle open past a certain point (its what the bar on the outside left of the tack is represetning. How far the pedal has to push to activate ((the lightning bolt))) once on. it will not STOP unless you completely lift off throttle (which maybe wrong) or hit the brakes. Once either of those has been detected you loose the remaining boost.
Boost is generated under heavy braking.
the willburger reference was based af, give your editor a raise!!
The sense of speed in this game looks second to none! So excited to give this a try
To give you an idea of how long this stage is, it's the length of an ENTIRE RALLY in one of the older games.
Jimmy, If you haven’t already planed on doing it, please do a career mode play through. That shit would be dope
I can already see the leaderboard maniacs memorizing these massive stages and finding ridiculous shortcuts.
It's my understanding that there are cutting penalties now, so maybe folks will have to keep it honest.
Jimmy:”ThiS HaNdbRakE iS PeRfecT FoR WRC!!!!”
Me: so it’s a handbrake? 🤨
Absolute quality not been this hyped for a game in so long thanks for all the coverage it's been fantastic 👌
Thank you Jimmy, watching you havin' a ton of fun with this just gets me more hyped then i already was.
Finally codemasters got the wrc licence. This game looks amazing.
M-sport fords explenation last year...and I quote:
"The length of time that hybrid boost is available does depend on how hard the driver presses the pedal, you know how much output they want form the car as a whole" And then he say if it is dry he can go full power and it will last for a shorter amount of time.
Great driving, Jimmy!
I love that stage. Can't wait to conquer that myself.
It really looks decent WRC game/sim.
From Indonesia here. It's nice to see a good driver using kilometers per hour instead of MPH, that I can feel the speed better 😀

"The one thing I've not yet seen on any video is the livery editor"
Is it possibly one of the things they don't want shown in the preview? Creators have been very careful with what they can/can't show off with the preview of the game, like the Sweden event for example.

I wanna see in the full game if EA/Codemasters will add the 2023 911 Dakar, Huracan Sterrato , Lancia 037, Ken Block’s cars, etc.
"You can really see just how responsive this thing is" (crunch) lol
Jimmy did you notice that WRC23 pivot point of the cars is off? It's like a four wheel steering. Just like Dirt rally 2.0's. The pivot point should be o 0:36 ver the rear axle.
I've been looking forward to this third video lol this game looks incredible 👏
I wasn't going to bother with this game, but then i saw someone driving a tight stage in Sardinia in the 2019 Fiesta WRC and thought to myself that actually looks sick af. Im glad its fun to drive. These cars should be fun to drive. You can bet your life they would be fun to drive in real life. They shouldn't be awkward or tricky or difficult to drive. Real cars are easy to drive. The only difficult part should be driving a stage faster than everyone else without crashing.
the last game i pre-purchased was no mans sky... your enthusiasm has me almost convinced to make that mistake again

I cannot remember being as hyped for a game as I am for this one. This might finally be the game that pushes me to buy a wheel/pedal setup.
Love you , Jimmy. I appreciate your enthusiasm and engagement. Keep going, dude. 🎉
@@g.s.8108 Kalle praised the game on how responsive the car is to inputs so not sure where you are pulling the "too much front grip"
No way, the Colin McRae rally 3 intro music in the intro 😍😍😍
id love to see all the different classes on that stage and see the time differences from modern day to classic group B
I feel if it wasn’t for mighty car mods making Yaris Hilton then the Gr Yaris would never exist 😂 great content
gonna make for a tiring evening doing a few recce runs on stages like that before online events.
Glad to see more gameplay Jimmy thank you!
Engine sound, jimmy talking, co driver talking, background music 🤯🤯🤯🤯
I just wish they could still fix the physics issue in the game. The physics seem to compute everything around the center of gravity, including the rotation on tarmac. It should compute forces according to the center of gravity but then it should consider the direction of the tires and contact patches instead of rotating the car around the center of gravity on tarmac (which makes the rear wheels slide around the center of gravity even on small speeds).
This is not a rally simulator. This is a swimming simulator! Look at that flow! 😍
This gives me anxiety. The 12km+ stages in Dirt 2.0 are BRUTAL.
Got a new wheel friday and got it sorted out yesterday. Now watching these videos made me pre-order this though I´d like a full sim like RBR, but this really looks good and sounds like fun according to almost everybody who have had the chance to pre-view it.
This game and the videos you've been making have been AWESOME Jimmer! Keep it up!
Tbh I've never been so hyped for a game to out, I'm a huge fan
If it takes 25 minutes to finish this stage in these cars, I wonder how long it would take for the FWD H1s to take to complete it.
40 min
Your enthusiasm has me so pumped lol
Thanks again Jimmy, looking forward for this one. Time to upgrade my fanatec belt system to a DD
