    This series on the Historic Route 66 is just priceless. Such an awesome idea and such recognition for the people, the places, and the mother road. Forget the History channel, this is true American History. Well done guys. keep up the good work!!!

      Thanks for the kind words, Mikel..truly appreciated. There's been some great feedback so far on this series, and we're happy to be able to share this stuff with everyone. These are stories that we feel need to be told, and recorded for the generations to come. We'll definitely be incorporating these interviews in our regular videos, and plan on putting out plenty more content just like this as well. We're grateful for all of the support! 🙌🇺🇸🌎🦅

      It really is. It's something that many of us probably don't consider or think about on a daily basis, and these great people are living it and loving it. Everyone we talked to had such passion for what they are doing, and it was inspiring to hear what they had to say. It's been pretty wild to make it to this point, and to be able to share these things with a great audience has been an awesome experience!

      Thanks, Whiskey Throttle!! We feel the same. We love capturing the riding/travel road trip vids, but taking our time and covering all of the details and history etc.. with videos like this has really grown on us. Being able to share these stories with everyone has really sparked the passion for the "why" of this whole thing, and we're excited for more. The plan is to do ~30% of our vids this way, then incorporate some of the things from these videos into our trip videos as well.
      Thanks for the input!

    We made it a point to stop at Lilo’s on our way from Laughlin to Phoenix. Brenda was like my big sister and took great care of us. We left with our bellies full, smiles in our hearts, and three take-out containers of German meatloaf and carrot cake. Thank you for this video! P.S. Hwy 89 from Prescott to Wickenburg was absolutely amazing! One of the best rides of my life.

    These stories you guys bring us here in the social media, only show how a motorcyclist's perspective is along the roads we ride, in other words, to listen to and to presence people telling their stories is not only knowing people around, it is a little more, it is how amazing are people who come across our way when we are on two wheels, and that's what motorcyclism about, finding out new people, finding out new stories we carry on with us and that making us to learn with those. Thanks for sharing you guys's perspective about people and places along the roads you ride on, and thank you to keeping up 2LaneLife on!!! See ya'll down the road!

      Thank you for the kind words, Marcos!1 We've greatly enjoyed this new way of storytelling with our videos. While we will still be doing our normal travel videos, we will be incorporating interviews and stories into them, and then ~30% of our drops will hopefully be just like this one.
      Not only is that what motorcycling is all about, but in the grand scheme of things, life in general. Sharing stories and experiences with others, regardless of their place in life, helps us learn to appreciate everything around us.
      We'll keep the good times rolling! 🦅

    Great idea, interviewing folks who have lived on 66 for decades. Comedian Billy Connolly did a TV special on Rt 66 years ago - besides being funny AF, he also put 66 on the map. That special was the reason I did the trip in ‘14. Seligman was probably my favorite town along the way. I need to go back for some sauerbraten and carrot cake.

    Gotta say…love Love LOVE your peering into the nooks and crannies of Americana!
    I’m heading out on my bike from Colorado (via New Mexico) to Southern California early next week to see my grandkids. I hadn’t given it much consideration before when planning this trip, but now I will damn sure stop-in at Seligman for at least a bite to eat and some gifts.
    I must have traveled that stretch of I-40…heck, I don’t know…numerous times before and never stopped in Seligman before, that I can recall. Your presentation really awakens that appreciation for those places which are tucked away in a comfy little hideaway and have such history that’s engrossing.
    The following weekend after that, my wife and I will be cruising up PCH for a getaway weekend, using your PCH videos as a blueprint. Thanks for scoping-out all of the cool spots. You make the planning easy.
    Thanks for your great stuff!

      Sounds like you've got an awesome trip ahead of you. There's definitely some great grub stops in Seligman. It's resilient towns like this that have some of the most interesting stories, so we'll do what we can to share them as we discover them.
      PCH to top it off. You've got some awesome miles ahead. If you check out the blog section on our website, we have maps, eats, and stays for our PCH run if you have any questions on that stuff that the videos didn't answer.

      A follow-up: I stopped in at the Road Kill Cafe in Seligman today and had a dead bird Reuben sandwich with day-old fries. It was dee-lish! Grabbed a couple souvenirs as well. I wish I had more time to spend than I did because that little town is rich with stuff to look at and plenty of photo opportunities.
      And I did manage to make it out of Colorado between snow storms, but wouldn’t you know it…I ran into a nasty one in Victorville today! I ended up having to grab a motel room tonight, only 90 miles from my ultimate destination. Shoulda seen the look on the guy’s face (the one checking in at the time) when I walked into the motel with my helmet and gear on, all covered in snow. 🥶 And my bike’s temporary new color this early evening was snow white. I do NOT want to EVER do that again!

    • @2LaneLife
      @2LaneLife  3 роки тому +1

      @@just_another_Joe Awesome!! Cool to see you're out there getting it done. At least you got out of CO with no storms, but yes this one kind of came out of nowhere. It was hot and sunny for a few days, then all of a sudden, rain, hail, and snow in some areas. In cold like that, sometimes it's best to just hunker down and play a little catch-up the next day.
      Hope it's been a good ride so far! Stay safe out there 👍

      That's the goal! We hope people will see this and venture out to visit places they may not have considered before. There's always something unique in small towns like this that you won't find anywhere else. Thanks for watching, John 👍

    I’m always digging the videos. Great story tellers, which seems to be a lost human skill. It would have to be our generation that’s at ease with just having a conversation with new people. Thanks guys.

    • @2LaneLife
      @2LaneLife  3 роки тому +2

      Awesome. Thanks for watching, John!! It is something that is becoming lost in the generations to come. Sitting down and hearing these stories face to face with these amazing people is always inspiring. We love our regular riding videos, but entering this realm of storytelling has definitely got us excited for more.
      Thanks, John!

    Great stop on Route 66. It's too bad all the little towns along the route aren't as kept up as Seligman.

    • @2LaneLife
      @2LaneLife  3 роки тому

      It sure is a great stop. If only more towns were at least as kept up as Seligman. Kingman was awesome to see as well, as they have boomed over time. The Kingman section will be out in a few weeks, and we had a local historian touring the town with us, capturing all sorts of history. Thanks for watching, Ty!

    Great job guys. I've been riding for years, but being from a helmet optional state, I have a question, as I just bought my first full face (modular) helmet. What do you do with your helmets when you walk away from your bike, especially in higher crime areas?

    • @2LaneLife
      @2LaneLife  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching, BigOil7!! It depends. If we're at a restaurant, we'll just leave them on the bats/mirrors and park the bikes by a window to check on them here and there. We never leave them out overnight, but if we have to be away from the bikes for a couple hours without being able to take the helmets, we'll either bring a small cable lock, or slip the button of the helmet strap in a saddlebag and lock the bag to at least tether the helmet to the bike. No fun getting a helmet stolen!
