Special shout out to Jim. I love his knowledge of the history around there. People move on, like none of that matters. God bless the man. May he please live long and teach everyone. I am not good with words, just have to say. Thank you for sharing
A huge shoutout to Jim!! It was awesome that he was able to show us around and share all of that awesome Kingman history, he sure is a wealth of knowledge. We're not the best with words either, but luckily Jim is 😂
Another great video, a shout out to Jim who blew my mind and didn’t skip a beat with all his knowledge. My family and I went from New Jersey to LA in 1959 and ended up on 66 at one point to drive into California. Enjoy all your road-trips keep ‘em coming.🇺🇸👍
Thanks Anthony!! It was awesome to have Jim show us around for the day with his infinite wisdom! Pretty cool to think back on the travels on 'ol 66 back in the day! We're going live with Jim himself today (3/3/22) at 4PM PST on our channel to talk some more on Route 66 and all that good stuff, hope to see you there! Thanks for the support 👍🇺🇸
From someone who has travelled the mother road on his bike, thanks to both of you for the efforts taken to show some awesome history of our Country!!! Thanks guys!!!! Great work.....
Thanks, Peanut Butter!! It really is an amazing experience! After traveling the entire route last year, it's great to revisit these towns and learn more about their history! Thanks for the support 🙌
very much needed in these difficult times we are all facing! You are not only shaking hands with America, You are Restoring The Pride and Patriotic Spirit that has made this country great! Thank you! ps: received my 2Lane Life 1st Generation Route 66 Collector's Series T Shirt a few days ago! Very Nice! Thank you!
Thanks Rodney!! We're glad to hear you're diggin' the series! It's been an awesome experience shaking hands with America and exploring what the 2Lanes and the small towns along them have to offer. Thanks for the support and for getting the shirt! They can be a bit delicate when it comes to drying, just a heads up. We appreciate the kind words. See ya down the road 🇺🇸
Great to see the Dunton Ford dealer in Kingman. I worked 41 years at Ford Dunton in the uk and never knew the name origin . Thanks for sharing with us.
Hello friends, what a good job, good stories like the one about the barbershop among others... Thank you very much, you are an excellent company when one cannot go out for a ride because of this covid... Good routes and a hug from Chile...
As a trucker I always liked the city of Kingman, but never had the chance to look around. Me and my son are going to do the Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica, in August. Watching this video helps. Thanks
We know the feeling! With a lot of our long distance rides, we had passed by tons of areas like Kingman without really thinking about it. Now, we're trying to get back to a lot of these towns and spend some time exploring. We've found so many hidden gems along the way. That will be an awesome experience to enjoy with your son. Have a great trip! 👍
Lived here over 50 years and learned a few new things, how cool. My stepdad used to sell cars there for Roy Dunton and I remember the Kimo cafe. Never heard about the ‘boxing ring’. Neat to see they included black bridge, area lots of memories out there. Should’ve got a clip of our old steam engine downtown, cool story about the community pull, getting that in place! Thanks for highlighting our community! Safe traveling guys!
Awesome! Always something new to see. We checked out the train later that night, that thing is MASSIVE!! Pretty cool that they have that there for people to enjoy. Great times, thanks for watching, Jenny!👍
Wow, this is definitely some of the best stuff on the Tube. God bless the folks like Jim and the Rutherford’s, these are the very fabric of our Great Nation. Been 12 years since we’ve been on 66. Time to go back out there. Thanks fellas, great job.
Thanks for the kind words, R&D Custom!! It's been a blast talking to all of these great people across the 2Lanes of America, and hearing their stories inspires us to keep at it. Hope you can make it out for a 66 adventure! Take care 👍
I live in Tucson right now, but I'm looking at unofficially retiring with the Harley up in Kingman in about a year, really looking forward to riding around this area. Love these video's of this part AZ.
Awesome! Sounds like a good time. We did see quite a few motorcycles out there, and there's tons of great places to go see, especially on two wheels. Thanks for watching, Robert 👍
Planning to come over from Germany and ride Route 66 with a friend from Chicago to LA in June, this Legacy Series definitively gets us into the right mood... and provides same really good information helping us in preparation! Keep on the good work!
Awesome!! You guys have a great trip ahead of you, it's truly an amazing experience traveling across the country on this historic road. We also have written blogs on our website with information on routes/maps, eats, stays, and history, if you ever want more information on the Route 66 journey we took across the entire route last year. Hope that helps. Thanks for the support!
@@2LaneLife Riding Route 66 definitively is an adventure! Although "adventure" and "planning" do not seem to fit too good, you can never have too much information! Therefore we really appreciate your outstanding work, your clips as well as your blogs! See you down the road... ;-)
The dart at the map idea is one I use as well. I have a Wisconsin map on my garage wall that I throw a dart at to decide where to go on the bike when I don’t know where to ride to next.
It sure is. We'd love to give that a shot. Doing it with 1 state definitely makes things a bit easier. Maybe our next series incorporates that, who knows! Let us know how that goes 👍
Another great video Gentleman, great stories and Jim is a treasure so good to be able to talk to someone that has taken the time to learn the History around the area that they live in. Thanks again and stay safe out there
Thanks for watching, Cathy!! We're grateful that Jim was able to come along with us and share so much great history with us throughout the day. He sure is a wealth of knowledge! See you down the road..
I am from AZ originally. I left there a few decades ago. I’ve only been back 3 or 4 times in the last 4 decades. I hope to get back again by doing the Route 66 from St. Louis to and through my old home state. Thanks for the vids!
This episode was fabulous. Jim's ideal to take you on a tour of Kingman. He knows his stuff and likes to promote the town. I've been here before but there was a lot in your video that I didn't know about. Really interesting. Thanks Gaylin, Lance and Jose for putting these detailed trips together. See you down the road!
Thanks for watching, Lloyd!! We sure were lucky to be able to have Jim show us around and share the deep history of Kingman with us. See you down the road!
Really like what you guys do. I enjoy all your shows. I have a 2021 street glide special.I enjoy all the information where you go planning a lot of trips. Thanks again.
Well done guys… one of the greatest things about touring is getting to know about people and places you might never have if you didnt swing your leg over that bike. Your cinematography and editing gets better and better!
Agreed, and the more one has experiences like that, the more it makes you want to get out and keep doing it! This trip really changed the way we look at things. Although we've spent plenty of time in towns like this, we usually just eat a meal or spend a little time there then get back on the road without digging a little deeper into what areas like this have to offer. It was a bit of an experiment for us on the video side of things, and it seems like people are really enjoying learning about places like this. We hope that it keeps bringing on inspiration to go visit these areas. There are few things like the open road and the adventures that go along with it. Thanks for the support, Ron 👍
How cool was Jim , I could listen to his story all day , another amazing one guys , keep up the great work ,it’s great to watch on dark winter nights till we all get out again 🥇🏴
I’ve been fascinated by Kingman Arizona and Oatman ever since watching an old 80s movie called Roadhouse 66 starring Willam Dafoe - Would love to visit one day.
Both cool places with loads of history. The ride from Kingman to Oatman is a great one as well. One of our favorites actually. The 'Ol RT66 Arizona sidewinder has some incredible curves, elevation change, and views. Thanks for watching, Ben👍
Fantastic as always guys! Can't wait to take my time machine there. By the way, please pm me when you get those awesome canvas vests back in stock (Lance even looks good in that). :)
Thanks Big Oil!!! Definitely a helluva place to take the 'ol time machine! Tons of history out there. We have the Nightrider vest that Lance rocks in stock now. Feel free to use the code UA-cam at checkout for a discount. Thanks for your support!
You didn’t even point out the chief of stone quarry off of the new route of route 66 that the court house was built from and so was a lot of holes in Kingman
Absolutely brilliant guys , I used to think when you used to ride through towns I wish you could stop and tell the history now you do thank you
Thanks Derek!! That's what inspired this whole thing. We pass by so much history every time we travel, gotta go back and see it!
