I hate that people are bothered about the lyrics... Like it's the first band ever using over the top lyrics or even doing something controversial. I also hate that many people are specifically bothered that it's about peadophilia, and before I say anything, I obviously think it is horrible and a very serious topic, BUT, in this context, why is this any worse than all the bands talking about torturing, murdering, rape etc. People are literally labeling what is worse, there are SO, MANY DEATHCORE/DEATH METAL bands, talking about murder, and yet people don't care because they are so used to it. like... The amount of hypocrisy is actually disturbing. But I understand if someone just doesn't like the lyrics. There's dark humor and dark humor, not everyone can laugh at this stuff and I can respect that, but all I can say is, don't take everything too seriously if there's no need to.

Yep, he uses the dualist double kick (single pedal) for each foot in my opinion as a drummer, how I would play this speed! --->> ua-cam.com/video/L3-DdFZAL6I/v-deo.html
What I'm assuming people mean by "programmed" is that he uses triggers but that's just so the sounds of the drums stays consistent. I'm not a drummer but it doesn't take much to figure out when you're playing that fast some strokes are gonna be quieter than others so triggers just help the sound be consistent
People use drum triggers to make the beaters hitting off the drum to have some power audibly to compensate for how little space they are set by default between them and the bass drum. They are usually set this close to the drum to play that fast but because they are very close to the drum there is less power coming from it and that is where the triggers come in.
I AM a drummer & you explained that perfectly.Due to the speed he is playing at triggering is the best way to control over/under hits & compress the frequencies for more clarity, as this would sound muddier than an avalanche of diarrhea unprocessed. It is analogous to how the early shredders on guitar like Yngwie Malmsteen would use a scalloped fret board to make fast scales & arpeggios without requiring alot of force to fret each note, yet still hear it clearly.
@@djentyman4002 I have nothing against triggers, it just gives a cleaner sound. I don't believe that they make you play faster what so ever, it just picks up weaker hits and makes them more coherent.
@@sgtraytango as far as i understand, with triggers, you're still playing at full speed, it just makes the weaker hits more consistent with the stronger ones.

Aaron said in a Livestream on the run-up to the new album that he writes and tracks the drums using software and then learns the songs afterwards. So he doesn't track anything that he can't actually play. However, what you hear on the album is tracked with software. What a lot of guys who play this speed do is trigger the kick drum. It works like a compressor so the drummer can play as fast as they can (which inevitably reduces the force they can apply with their legs) and it outputs the same volume every hit. Some people consider it 'cheating' but when you're playing this fast I don't think it really matters.
You spoke only facts at the last part. You wouldn't want the kicks to sound different with every kick when you're playing that fast. And also it's tiring to use more force that fast as well.

I've seen enough extreme metal drummers to have no problem thinking this is real. Sure the kick is triggered, but you still need to hit the fucking drum to actually trigger the kick sample. That's the point of triggers, to ensure a consistent and clearly audible kick drum sound throughout, which is absolutely necessary with this type of music.

The drum track version is my favorite simply because you can hear the standard instruments.. not saying the sound of the vocals are not good.. I am just more familiar with this version.
Actual professional drummer here. So first up "Programmed" is when you literally program the drums on a computer, basically a drum machine, no human actually records it in but then someone has to learn it to play it live. Meshuggah did this on their Catch 33 album, possibly on a couple others too around that time. "Triggers" are when you have little electronic devices that detect hits on the drums, and instead of using a microphone to pick up that sound, they send a signal to what is essentially an electric drumkit module to "trigger" a sampled sound, either for recording or live. The benefits of this are more consistent (and easier to mix and balance) sounds on the drums when playing at high speeds especially. Lots of metal drummers who play the more extreme sub-genres will have triggers on their bass drums only, or bass drums and snare only, some will go for a fully triggered kit. Some will use them for specific songs, for example Tomas Haake of Meshuggah uses triggers on his bass drums live only for playing Bleed, it just helps with keeping the sound consistent, the rest of the time he doesn't need them so opts for full glorious acoustic drum sound. Now, this video, we can see he's playing the song, but the audio we hear is definitely album audio, there are no mics or triggers on any of his drums in that video, so he's just playing along to the song. Now the audio we hear has at the very least a drumkit that had triggers on everything, you just can't get that sound without using samples. The biggest clue is in the snare drum sound and the toms, the level of attack he's getting from the sounds does not line up with how hard he's playing. Especially the snare drum during the blastbeats, the sound we hear is all full power strikes, but we can clearly see the stick is not hitting with that much force. The give away for triggers on the bass drums (which brings up the "he's not actually playing it" thing) is that during the fast rolls he's barely hitting the drums, just tickling them, but the sound we hear is again full power hits with loads of attack in the sound. Triggers can hide a multitude of sins when it comes to inconsistent playing or bad technique, so guys who play this fast will always be hit with the "yeah but he's not actually playing it" line. And then the ageless drummers' argument: Is using triggers cheating? ;)
his footwork....great use of the heel toe technique...and yes the speeds are achievable on the snare with the gravity blast aswell, speed is all in the technique.
He can play it for sure, it needs triggering. but i've seen him playing on an accoustic drumkit and his speed is similar, he just couldnt hear the playback of the song so its chopped up. Also, IGNORE the lyrics. they're straight up shock value. its nothing they stand behind. Its a way of "all PR is good PR". I love that you reacted to this! :D Blashpemian next please!
The quad kicks are a technique called a heel-toe. You initiate the pedal kick with your heel and then the the ball of your foot just naturally falls right behind it. Giving you 2 bass kicks with the use of only 1 foot. That combined with the double pedal and a ton of practice is what gives the appearance of his legs not moving as fast. As they are actually only moving half as fast as what the sound implies
Stopping by to leave my support.i saw someone comment Where owls know my name by rivers of nihil, superb track. Or you can just dip for your foot the bottomless pit thats Ne Obliviscaris, you can start with eyrie. Cheers ;)
Programmed drums means you click in all the hits in a midi file with digital drums. It’s basically playing drums on a keyboard/electric piano. He’s the drummer for “Black Tongue” and they play live and tour
By programmed, this would be using an in-the-box drum software to map out hits, and create a drum track for the entire song. You can map out velocities (how hard each part of the kit is hit) and various other things to produce an organic sound. Aaron said in an interview he programs the drums but learns them after. What he uses here is definitely triggers. There are small sensors on the skins of the drums which detect when each drum is hit. Then the hit is electronically sent to a computer on which a pre-recorded drum sample is played, which keeps the sound consistent in velocity. When you play so fast, you have to compensate how hard you hit the drum for the ability to quickly release, and play the next hit, as a smaller distance between your stick / beater and the drum sacrifices power for speed.
He can completely play 320bpm double bass 16th notes with his feet, there’s a video about it. Though sometimes playing this fast, people need breaks, or record in sections, but this man can play fast and gr8!
As a Drummer myself i kiiinda love to see DrumCam Videos. Speed itself doesnt impress me at all... Speed can be build up by pure practicing. What makes this one cool is how clean the transitions are. That actually needs a lot of talent, combined with a lot of practice. Nood my favourite kind of drumming, thats Jazz and Prog-Rock/Metal but still fun to watch :) Edit: since People are pointing out its edited and he cant play that song himself... well... that makes me kinda hate it cause i cant stand faked music. With that i mean Music that claims to be something else than it is.... metal shouldnt be programmed and edited to make a song possible... in electronic music it's 100% clear that its electronic and thats absolutley fine (just so nobody thinks im one of those dudes that hate on non-accoustic music for some dumb reason) BUT that doesnt take away that in the parts he plays in one take the transitions are fantastic, he is a damn good drummer even if i dont like the song cause of the editing crap
With triggers you can program them to play 400 bpm double bass after you touch the pedal once but what he used it for is to make the bass sound louder because playing that fast it will sound quieter
Hey Drew nice vid. Pls go for "Your Pain is Mine" from Fit for an Autopsy. Amazing band, vocals are on point (Joe was Vocalist of 2019) and their instrumental style is really on point. Groovy, heavy and you can sometimes hear an influence of Gojira riffs with some slides in there. Another great one would be "The Sea of Tragic Beast" for starters, but there are many outstanding songs. Other than that maybe try some "Rings of Saturn" and their song The Husk. (They kinda invented their own genre with alien core, you will know when you listen haha) Their guitarwork will blow your socks off... Have a great one mate and take care!

This guy is legitimately talented and amazing at his instrument, he uses triggers, which means each hit will just have full volume, but that still means he is making each hit himself. So it doesnt take away from it because it is impressibe nonetheless to still play with acuraccy. People tend to "diss what they can't do" and that's true for everything, people think, "oh, its too fast and complicated, so it must be impossible" just because they can't do it, but the reality is that he CAN do it and DOES do it. People annoy me sometimes, same thing with Lucas Mann, people call him fake because it doesnt seem possible what he does and that he uses harmony tracks, but the fact is, he is playing it for real, and he also played the harmony tracks as well and he plays in sync with them because he is simply that skilled in his craft, not because its fake.
Infant Annihilator - The Kingdom Sitteth Lonely Beneath Thine Hollowed Heavens Wintersun - Sons of Winter and Stars (you might actually enjoy this, it was my introduction to extreme metal, it's heavily influenced by oriental music)
For the bass pedals looking like he isn't putting much into it, is because the pedals bounce back so the only motion you see is enough to hit the head on the drum head and have the trigger make the sound. Still moving the heads at that speed just not having to hit it as hard for the boom.
I am still wondering why no1 talks about Nills Fjellstrom Dominator(ex Dark funeral currently in Nordjevel),Pete Sandoval(Morbid Angel) ,Gene Hoglan(true Master of drums played in DeathStrapping young lad,Testament),John Longstreth(Gorguts, Origin),Jamie Saint Merat(Ulcerate),Elliot Hoffman(Carbomb),Spencer Prewett(Archspyre) - where the real skills matters and shows how its done like a pro ....
The skill is definitely still there. People just get two things confused. His bass drum AND snare are "triggered" all that means is there is a sensor that picks up each hit and plays a sample of a snare or bass drum. This allows him to not have to hit the bass or snare as hard to get an audible volume. He still has to be consistent with his hits he just doesnt have to hit as hard. Thus his foot pedals only come off of the bass drum head about 1-2 inches.
many metal drummers use triggers....it allows the sound to stay consistent but also allows for faster beats when doing double bass rolls and such without actually having to use actual foot speed.....if he was actually playing that very fast speed there naturally he would have close to if not the fastest feet in music
one thing about this track specifically, he has played it live on a few occasions. what people say when they mean he wont play it live is that infant annihilator don't play live shows, just because the songs are so draining and the vocalist lives in another country. what they mean by "programmed" is that he can physically play that fast, but the bass drums have what is called a "trigger" attached to them. this allows them to take each individual drum hit and edit it post recording so that it is perfect for the record. as a drummer, playing that fast and tight is extremely difficult for extended periods of time, which is another reason they don't play live. hope this explains a bit for you :)
Triggers will definitely help with that sound but they also make your mistakes very well known when you fuck up. Most everyone uses them at some point.
Kitcher is actually just that fast. I wouldn't say he's like otherworldly like Danny Carey, Neil Pert, etc. but his speed is legendary and he'll be remembered in musical history for it. He's still a great drummer ignoring how fast he's capable of playing, but with the speed included he's just insane. Definitely one of the best heavy metal drummers out there right now. He simply has legs built to abuse pedals.
In a stream he mentioned that he programmes his drums, because it is more clean, faster to complete and in the end, no one notices. He can play the parts, but he programms the versions we hear on the track. It is very likely, that the track in the background is programmed, thought he demonstrated, that he is able to play it
To your intro: you are more mature than those people, and good man for going above and beyond to try and please your entire fan base even though some are a little intolerant.
Basically his kit is triggered. Similar to microphones, but instead of picking up a sound, they pick up the force of the hits and send it to a computer as a midi file. This midi file can do a lot things. You can quantize the drum part so if its a little sloppy you can shift the notes to be more even, you can increase the velocity to give the drums more volume, you can replace the sound with literally anything (i have a trigger that makes Owen Wilsons “wow” sound for example). So the issue drummers have with this video is yes he can play these parts but if you heard him without triggers or any quantizing it wouldn’t nearly be as impressive because it wouldn’t sound as tight, wouldn’t be as clean, etc. and the main reason triggers are used is because when you play a large drum like a bass drum extremely fast you lose sound quality because the drum doesnt have enough time to properly resonate before you hit it again. That means in concert venues or in the studio, it’ll be muddier simply because of physics, so to deliver a good solid sound to the audience you use triggers to bypass the laws of nature and have a computer reproduce the sound you are already making. People think its cheating, 99% of the time it isnt at all.
You should react to Lucid Collective Somnambulation by Archspire so you see drumming like this is possible Or if you want something badass too, Fundamental Process by Beyond Creation should be your cup of tea
The technique you were referring to when he hit the snare insanely fast with one hand is called a gravity blast and is possible but usually not exaggerated that much

Aaron kitcher is a part of a band called black tongue and plays live in it if you were wondering
Stopping by to leave my support.i saw someone comment Where owls know my name by rivers of nihil, superb track.
Or you can just dip for your foot the bottomless pit thats Ne Obliviscaris, you can start with eyrie.
Cheers ;)
Power Trip - Divine Apprehension
Power Trip - Hornet’s Nest
Power Trip - Crucifixation
Karl approves. Actually, Karl has no idea who I am. But fucking hell, listen to one of these tracks you....You!!
NOOOOOO you didn't add your reaction to the bit they added in at the end of this video, it's the best part!
Kitcher's gravity blasts are legit, I do wish we had some light on the foot pedals and a dedicated cam on constantly.
You gotta watch Northlane's Genesis/Scarab drum playthrough by their drummer Nic Petterson. Its phenominal.
Now you just need to watch the guitar playthrough video!
The groovy riff before the huge blast is sooo insane
He can completely play 320bpm double bass 16th notes with his feet, there’s a video about it. Though sometimes playing this fast, people need breaks, or record in sections, but this man can play fast and gr8!
There is a video of him playing it live at a festival or someone else's tiny drumkit. So yeah, he can play it and on a tiny kit too
spiritbox - blessed be. these guys can do no wrong. you won't regret it 👌
You did it!!! You mad lad!
As a Drummer myself i kiiinda love to see DrumCam Videos. Speed itself doesnt impress me at all... Speed can be build up by pure practicing. What makes this one cool is how clean the transitions are. That actually needs a lot of talent, combined with a lot of practice. Nood my favourite kind of drumming, thats Jazz and Prog-Rock/Metal but still fun to watch :)
Edit: since People are pointing out its edited and he cant play that song himself... well... that makes me kinda hate it cause i cant stand faked music.
Gotta say I love the lighting too
With triggers you can program them to play 400 bpm double bass after you touch the pedal once but what he used it for is to make the bass sound louder because playing that fast it will sound quieter
It's fine he is an amazing drummer people just don't want to believe it I'm seeing what your seeing 😁
He has live videos all over the internet. He's even done competitions with judges and audiences all around him. Fuck you mean. . .
The newest album is programmed on the drums but to my knowledge the first album was recorded naturally (all instruments)
Also there's a video of Aaron doing 320bpm on the double bass.... Look it up
The Ocean - Rhyacian: Untimely Meditations (2017 Version) or Devonian: Nascent OR Silurian: Age of the Sea Scorpion. You dont know what this is? Im not surprised. Give it a go. Expand your musical library and your audience's while youre at it. I love learning of new bands from the reaction channels, and i think many will discover a new band from your reaction.
sTuv oHoy The Ocean is A MUST DO!
Very much so, my dude.

Safer lyrics - the kingdom sitteth lonely beneath thine hollowed heavens or Three bastards
Not so safe lyrics - Motherless miscarriage, Feast ov Goreglutton or Blasphemian
People annoy me sometimes, same thing with Lucas Mann, people call him fake because it doesnt seem possible what he does and that he uses harmony tracks, but the fact is, he is playing it for real, and he also played the harmony tracks as well and he plays in sync with them because he is simply that skilled in his craft, not because its fake.
the vocalist dickie allen streams on twitch and i believe you should check him out. very funny guy, i chill in there a lot
Infant Annihilator - The Kingdom Sitteth Lonely Beneath Thine Hollowed Heavens
Wintersun - Sons of Winter and Stars (you might actually enjoy this, it was my introduction to extreme metal, it's heavily influenced by oriental music)
For the bass pedals looking like he isn't putting much into it, is because the pedals bounce back so the only motion you see is enough to hit the head on the drum head and have the trigger make the sound. Still moving the heads at that speed just not having to hit it as hard for the boom.
gravity/blast beats, he can go up to 300 bpm on his bass however he might use triggers to make it sound consistent.
The snare bomb is SO underrated.. 😤
About his feet and legs not moving as fast as the sound... He uses a heel toe technique. I'm not a drummer so I can't explain it well
Triggered drums but it's not heel toe technique. Heel up.
Gojira - From The Sky
he has played this live and did it very well
The skill is definitely still there.
In the live video you can hear Aaron play the real fast double bass moment, and you can hear it's real, he can play what he did
You have to check out "Behold the Kingdom of the Wretched Undying"
Aaron Kitcher is awesome drumplayer
Triggers will definitely help with that sound but they also make your mistakes very well known when you fuck up. Most everyone uses them at some point.
Kitcher is actually just that fast. I wouldn't say he's like otherworldly like Danny Carey, Neil Pert, etc. but his speed is legendary and he'll be remembered in musical history for it. He's still a great drummer ignoring how fast he's capable of playing, but with the speed included he's just insane. Definitely one of the best heavy metal drummers out there right now.
He simply has legs built to abuse pedals.
You need to check out his other band, Black Tounge and the song Fluxhammer.
infant annihilator - The Kingdom Sitteth Lonely Beneath Thine Hollowed Heavens
and Swinaecologist
from their last album
@James Missen thanks
Oh and a couple of recommendations:
For nasty drums:
Within Destruction - Void
For pure musicianship:
Ne Obliviscaris - Intra Venus
Also, a recommendation: anything by car bomb. Maybe lights out.
You should react to Lucid Collective Somnambulation by Archspire so you see drumming like this is possible
Or if you want something badass too, Fundamental Process by Beyond Creation should be your cup of tea
I believe Aaron kitcher can play this and i believe this is real
For drum cam stuff that's indisputable
Check nils dominator fjellström playing vobiscum satanas
And
Francesco paoli drum cam playing the violation.

Try Karavox Academy with his Voice lesson about IA and watch Naughty Nation - Soil the Stillborn Drum cover... Than let us hear u again :)
John Longstreth - Into The Storm Of Steel. Just remember to pick your jaw up off the floor.
He has a band called Black Tongue. If you don't believe if he's playing for real, I suggest you react to Black Tongue - Second Death
The technique you were referring to when he hit the snare insanely fast with one hand is called a gravity blast and is possible but usually not exaggerated that much
I preffer the track without the vocals and lyrics for sure haha
Leprous - "Slave" live at Rockefeller Music Hall
Sojourner - "The Deluge"
🙏
Black Tongue - “Coma” !
you missed the end off! :D:D funny as fuck lol
He’s definitely playing this and he could play it live because I can play this song so I know it’s possible.
