    I bought your course and appreciate the additional content and the updated sections, I have learnt so much in your very well constructed course, money and time very well spent as the outcome is that I have learnt skills I can use easily and I am far more confident in my DJing these days than I was before. Thank you Andrew....

      Good luck!!! One tip: have your DJ equipment always on table connected to everything needed for playing! So it is absolutely easy to switch it on and play at least for the while. Because preparing it and connecting and then disconnecting again and hiding it somewhere... that decreases fun and motivation a lot! My main home audio system is connected through my controller so it became my standard home equipment. (I used to have oldschool Pioneer DJ equipment on kitchen unit, because I had not other place and I was so obsessed 😜😜🤩🤩

    Hey Andrew, this video is spot on! I signed up to your course about 2 years ago after watching endless youtube videos with no structure at all and it was this course that really helped me put everything together. Every video has been useful in it's own way, thank you so much! I know you love a shameless plug so I am going to shamelessly plug a live mix that I recorded for a UK radio station on my channel, and I would be honoured if you could give it a watch/listen :)
    Happy New Year!

    You are again absolutely right!!! And everyone who means it seriously with learning how to DJ, should for sure follow your tips! Right from the beginning!!!
    So thank you for finding the teacher inside of you and for the patience with students 🙏 And for the Black Friday absolutely bombastic offer!!! 🤑 There was never better time to start DJ!!!! With cheap entry level DJ controllers (I started with DDJ-200 for the same price as your current special offer) and with such accessibility to the necessary knowledge served always with smile and motivating leadership from you... Really perfect conditions, thank you master!!!
    For any doubters: you can really believe me, that months spent creating of big library full of songs but in shitty quality was really very bad idea!!! And wasting time by searching them in dark corners of internet and struggling bymistakes in them, correcting beat grid and then be stuck with beat sync... Noooo that was all wrong!!!!! You cannot create anything good when you are using bad parts.
    So rule number one: Always listen to Buck.... sorry to Andrew 🤪

    Would you recommend starting out in the genre that you’d like to play in the future or play different genres too?

    • @evanmassimino3416
      @evanmassimino3416 Рік тому

      I been mixing music for over a decade now, and almost every set I put together is a different genre from my previous one. Doing this keeps things interesting, doesn't limit you to one specific genre, teaches you different techniques that come with each genre, and helps expand your taste in music. However, it does present a challenge when switching to a genre where you have 0 tracks to work with, so building that library before being able to mix always takes a while. I normally won't build a set until I have 1,000 - 1,500 tracks to work with since I mostly mix in key and I'm very picky

    • @ClubReadyDJSchool
      @ClubReadyDJSchool  Рік тому +1

      It's always good to start with / and play music you resonate with. Perhaps you can do a few sets. 1: a set showcasing your faves, 2: a set with a specific event in mind (I like doing these ones), 3: a set where you try out a new genre (eg: if you're into techno, why not give progressive house a go, or if you're into Tech House, why not try putting together a DNB set. All good options my friend :)

    When I was working as a Lighting Designer in Clubs in the day of Circuit DJS. They produced and played records that were no shorter than 10 min. If you heard DJs such as Junior Vasquez, Johnny Vicious, Victor Calderon and the late great Peter Rahofer, there sets were 8 hours long and with longer records, they could loose you in the night and get you off the clock. I miss the days when the DJ played more Filler than Killer. Now there is a desire to play bangers all night to appease the crowd. Tracks are shorter and production is far less important.

      It was about the journey, in todays insta-- generated the ride has become 30 seconds of attention. I remember dance for 8 hours straight barely talking to people just get in a trance and going…… I loved NYC in the 90’s from the raves to the big clubs we definitely had it right for a bit.

    Yeah see people need to stop ripping UA-cam. I mean really people are still doing that? Why would you short change your audence and yourself like that? You spend thousands on gear and you rip from UA-cam? That's like buying a Ferarri and driving it like a 90 year old grandma. :)

  • @matthewjswider
    @matthewjswider Рік тому +1

    Skip number 1 entirely. Yes, find club edits with extended intro and outros, but rip music wherever you can. Guys like this own labels and are directly effected by pirating. Forget their whining. I’ve played on gigantic systems with UA-cam rips, as have many a DMC champ, Red Bull threestyle champ, etc.
    The rest are decent points but it’s basically a sales pitch.

    • @djbcubed
      @djbcubed Рік тому +2

      I mean congrats on playing songs that sound like trash on a big system? Not using loseless on a decent system is extremely noticeable, and if you can't tell, then I am so sorry for your extensive hearing damage. It is gonna be hard to DJ without being able to hear, good luck mate.

    • @jamiecaughley6457
      @jamiecaughley6457 Рік тому +1

      Idk man. If you download from YT you're downloading tracks with YT's compression algorithm applied. Couple that with websites that rip at varying qualities and you have a very inconsistent level of audio fidelity. Zooming out, if you're ripping from wherever and whenever you end up with an inconsistent track library with tracks that differ significantly in perceived loudness and quality. Not to mention, filling out track info (Genre, artist, album) is such a chore.
      I've also done some A-B testing of audio from different sources with different quality/compression and have personally found it immensely beneficial to ensure that my tracks are of high quality. For me, a consistent library helps me smooth out my mix- the levels and compression are more similar between tracks, allowing me to focus on the details that matter rather than wondering why one track sounds like noisy shit in the high highs or the low lows.
      My $0.02 🤷

    • @matthewjswider

      Have either of you heard of mixed in key? Or do you use eq’s?

    • @jamiecaughley6457
      @jamiecaughley6457 Рік тому

      @@matthewjswider That's somewhat irrelevant, I think... yes, mixed in key can help with gain/loudness matching and eq with balancing frequency ranges, but it's a band-aid IMO. I'd rather fix the issue at the source, and you still can't undo the effects of data compression. A reduced bit-rate is not fixable.
