If you have a good relationship with Shadowheart, you literally don't have to say anything. You just stay silent or tell her to follow her heart, and she won't kill Alyn. I had zero dice rolls and she didn't kill her.
They still sing the praises of BG3, don't worry! I think it may just be a bit cluttered in terms of content to squeeze in another 2 hour+ pod. Who knows? Maybe we'll get our delicious closure someday ❤️
A great way to play with Gale is to spec into his Evocation skills. You can just fireball or ice storm everything without having to worry about causing damage to your party or friendlies. Also counter-spell is great with Gale.
I know a lot of people are saving the dark urge for a second play through but I did my first run with it and resisted the urges the whole time making it a good run and the amount of story it added was amazing, highly suggest doing a good dark urge run!!!
As a D&D nerd I was a little confused by Aylin's label as an Aasimar, as her abilities and immortality suggest she's actually a Deva. Aasimar are a normal mortal playable race, the "celestial" equivalent of Tieflings. I also jumped Yurgir rather than talk to him, so I missed most of that sidequest (Raphael also didn't mention me killing him at all for the rest of the game). Despite romancing her and having max approval, I didn't know about trusting Shadowheart and tried to convince her to not kill Aylin, but thankfully I rolled a nat 20 on the DC 30 roll, which then added a lot of hype and weight to the cutscene that plays afterwards with Aylin flying over the land (Best Moment Nominee). I also missed saving Zevlor in the Mind Flayer Colony, but apparently he doesn't count for the "saving all the Tieflings" achievement. You CAN skip a phase of the fight against Thorm if you break into the tower and find out his wife was a devout Selunite, but can't skip the whole fight.
Just catching up now (finished Act 2 last night babyyyy !) and a few thoughts : -Really loved the tone shift and how you get the rug pulled out from under you to drop you right into spooksville. Perfect for the october month and jesus that art direction was really inspired (loved all of the Thorms designs) -Honestly I'm really liking how my relationship to all my party members is evolving : Astarion I never cared for too much and let nudged him into biting the drow (needs of the many outweigh needs of the few and all) but when I saw how bad it made him feel I regretted it. Gale I'd say I'm good friends with, I like the dude and his nice demeanor, but he was a bit of a dick during this act (being a bomb and all that) and tends to act like a snobbish knowitall. At first I really didn't give two **** about Wyll but he's slowly and surely turning into one of my faves. Love his story, his attitude, his dance scene and his whole "good natured hero with a devil on his shoulder" thing. I romanced Shadowheart because I'm a cleric of Selune and her being Sharran, I just thought it'd be ripe for drama. For that I had to turn down Lae'zel and it broke my heart. As my romance with Shadowheart unfurls, I'm more and more convinced I made the wrong choice and I should've gone for my no-nonsense but incredibly silly warrior wife. Karlach is just Karlach (which is the best). -Actually on that topic, I loved savescumming and trying out scenarios with Mizora in the pod. Seeing Wyll get dragged straight into hell was a HOLY ***** moment and then having Karlach finally snap and scream at me was really freaking cool. Of couse, I ended up reloading and doing it right.
Hell yes! Absolutely loving this series. Can't wait to finish Act 3 myself and to hear you guys talk about it. Just a small clarification: 5E and 5th Edition are the same thing. BG3 is built off of 5E with modifications to make it fit better into a video game format. The level cap of 12 is for mechanics reasons as Sarah has mentioned, but also for narrative reasons. Characters who are level 18-20 are literally demi-god with the power to shift the very planes of existence and BG3 is just not that kind of story. BG3 is more similar to BG1 in its scope, whereas BG2 followed up to that point of godhood.
3 playthroughs in and gotta say Githyanki as a race did not live up to Drow or Tiefling. Most Githyanki choices are just normal choices but labled Githyanki. Hells, your own kind dont even acknowledge you if Laezel is with you. (But Lae'zel's romance is top tier and highly recommended.) Almost halfway through 4th playthrough and still discovering new things. Its nuts
still in the under dark will need to come back later lol I've put 40 hours in a little over a week while working 60 hours+ a week 😅 and taking care of a baby
Let's goooooooo, I loved act 2 at the time but in replays it feels like the least amount of variability, I really wish evil/bad boy playthroughs played out a lot more different to the 'good guy' playthrough than they do
Not sure why the Gale hate combat wise, he was so strong in my playthrough. Magic Missiles never missing so strong cast at higher levels, Mirror Image and Misty Steppin around the battlefield not being touched.
No offence but that's a weird way to play him, as he's an Evocation Wizard so he should always be using the biggest, hardest AoE spells since they don't affect allies due to a passive feature. So he should be zipping around with Misty Step and just Lightning Bolting or Fireballing everything up the wazoo. Imo :p
I killed so many people in this act. Any cultist I killed pretty much immediately lol. And shadowheart, I murdered her in shadowfell and never looked back! It’s kind of unbelievable how flexible this game is.
Ya'll are wild out here just rawdogging tiktok for stuff they aren't caught up on yet, my friends have been spoiled to varying degrees on movies/tv/anime/games because the draw of fancam's for Astarion and Killua is too strong
I never really liked Shadowheart and didn't bring her around on Act 2. Would just go back to camp and see her getting all excited about being a Dark Justiciar and then I'd just leave her there. She was so, so pissed when I did the trials without her.
"It would be kinda weird if we just, like, cut it after act 2" - a chilling vision of the future. There's still time for an act 3 chat!

“It’s not a product, it’s a project” is the perfect description of this game ❤
I need the Act 3 discussion so bad. Very excited for these 2 and to hear their choices.
Do we know if/when they'll do another one for act 3?
@@MrBioBlue94wondering the same thing
Haha what happened to act 3?😂 some commitment to Goty 2023

Part 3 spoilercast? *SpongeBob GIF* I NEEEEED IIIIIT!!!
Please and Thank you
15:39- Necromancy pro-tip: hoard all dead bodies by sending to camp, stuff in containers. 😎

Yes, another one! Hopefully you come back for act 3!
This podcast was so cozy, I absolutely loved it! I am now at the start of ACT 3 as well.
On my second playthrough and MAN I missed so many story beats the first time around. Love this game.
I've always understood Harpers NOT be "good guys" but rather True Neutral forces trying to re-balance the universe.

Thankfully with the patch out today the NPCS don’t flee in terror from summons and animal companions.
15:38's comparison killed me.

Whenever you get a new party member you do have to manually level them up

Did Hanson really just pop in at the end to say "ok let's wrap it up now"? Lol

Can confirm that if Gale blows up in act 2 the credits roll.

I had the zombie problem too! Id have to leave my hoard outside the town gates

Shadowheart's beyblade is badass
Not sure why the Gale hate combat wise, he was so strong in my playthrough. Magic Missiles never missing so strong cast at higher levels, Mirror Image and Misty Steppin around the battlefield not being touched.
But he was a weirdo for sure 😅

Oh of course, but once you're out of your 2 big spell slots on Lightning Bolts, prefer the unmissable attacks, more reliable at
least.@@Nergal134

Not watching yet as I haven’t completed, but dropping in to say this is one of my favorite games ever, Larian is ALWAYS top notch.
Give us act 3 max spoilers! 😭
As someone who went the bad guy route for this game, it’s fun to hear how things goif you play good.
Where's part 3?

2 weeks ago same channel

Way too many references and spoilers about Act 3 during this conversation…Would’ve loved if it was just limited to Act 2, point blank
