    • @Trooper599
      @Trooper599 3 роки тому +3

      The old release is far superior to the AR type mag release. If you get any crud in your rifle that impedes the bar that attaches between the mag release button and the magwell, good luck getting your mag out. The trigger on the SAR was right where it needed to be.

    I have bought 3 SAR21’s and 1 Tavor 7. Never messed with an X95 and no regrets. I like the ones I have just the way they are. Plus 2 galil ace’s. IWI fan no doubt.

    It's funny to see how many people on the Internet claim they still prefer the SAR, but almost none give actual objective reasons(besides SAR is just slightly more accurate), and most of them already own SAR but have never used an X95 yet.
    X95 SBR over the SAR all day long. Any task if X95 can't do well, SAR won't be much better either.

      There's a video on UA-cam about removing a trigger return spring & it'll reduce the trigger pull weight.
      I did it to mine & it worked great. It's still a fairly heavy trigger (not a hair trigger) but much better than it was.

  • @Lemurai

    So glad they came up with the x95, I really wanted to like the SAR but there was just too much that stopped just short of the finish line. They didn’t bring out the x95 I would have simply done without.

  • @snowlothar45
    @snowlothar45 4 роки тому +12

    Moving the mag release just created a problem as the Inrange mud test found out. Adding several inches of linkage and more complexity just adds problems. Just learn to run the SAR and happiness will be yours.

    • @JohnZ556
      @JohnZ556 2 роки тому +2

      That was a very extreme and somewhat random test(mud consistency, composition, amount, location, etc.) By your logic, the mag release on the SAR can be easily bumped, we should also ditch the AR mag release because it can be frozen in place. But then, AK still didn't do well in the same serie of tests.
      The advantage of AR-like control is huge, esp for something as awkward as bullpups are. And I don't think IDF will take a less reliable rifle.
      Plus don't you know in such an extreme case you still can just push the mag latch itself on X95 to release the mag? This alone defeated the point you're trying to make.

    • @insanity4082
      @insanity4082 10 місяців тому

      The original mag release location on the SAR is terrible. The X95 mag release is superior.

  • @_SKDK_

    You're going to replace the trigger to a geissele with either rifle. The real difference between the two is that the x95 has the AR mag release and the SAR has better accuracy according to owners.
    Alot of people including UA-cam have done accuracy tests with the x95 and it's supposedly not as good and no one knows why.
    The charging handles are also in different locations but that doesn't make one better over the other as both will require training of muscles memory since they're different from traditional ARs. Neither handles are completely ambi because it's an either/or situation unlike the desert tech MDR where it doesn't matter what side.

      i have tested both myself and they both are about the same. 1.8 moa with x tach ammo consistently. better with siera heavy bullet. all factory ammo. both factory triggers. tested over 3 separate trips. once with a red dot and others were 1-4 steiner. have not retested with new triggers. a geisselle and a timney, but will soon.

    Bought the X95 and love it. Only gripe is it should have come with the pistol grip standard with cutlass optional or included. It seems most people prefer the pistol grip because it's the part that IWI is out of stock on. Only option is non factory aftermarket for a pretty expensive rifle.

      @@dwightpatch4441 Really nothing besides slight more accuracy and/or personal taste on the look.
      I would choose the X95 SBR version, which is the real(minus full-auto) X95. A 22" overall w/ 13" barrel reliable long-stroke piston 5.56 bullpup, that has AR-like controls and is super fast to reload. The best bullpup available today.
      I know, VHS-2, 28" OAL, strange safety and bolt release, no manual hold open, not as fast mag release. But I still want one.

      @zombieericharris105 Love it, very accurate and very ambi. The gas setting is very useful for suppressed use. I easily got over the trigger and the controls, shot sub-moa to under 2moa on wood bench out door. Will consider upgrading the safety lever and/or the trigger.

    The SAR has a front hand guard which can be replaced with a RatWorx suppressor, built in -- cheap & no can sticking out the front of the barrel. The RatWorx suppressor does NOT fit the X-95, which I found out to my sorrow. The RatWorx advertisement did not mention it only works with the SAR.

  • @Schwedeballz

    They’re both the same length. Same weight at 7.9lbs so the only real difference is the trigger pull and mag release and you can switch out the trigger anyway.

      If you are tired of smashing your face down to get proper sight picture get a 1.94" height mount. No it will not co witness with the built in BUIS. The poorly designed rail height only magnifies the accuracy issue. If IWI designed the rail to match common height mounts would be great. They never will though because they make videos about ergonomics and $200 trigger packs for a rifle designed for fighting/ self defense.
