Sketching Session & The Book Animals and Men

This sketching session is inspired by the book Animals and Men by Kenneth Clark. Some of the most beautifully illustrated books are from the 60’s and 70’s and I was lucky enough to find this copy at the thrift store yesterday.
The book is filled with beautiful examples of artwork within the theme of animals and men. There are paintings, sketches and carvings.
I loved the drawings of cats - big and small. So today, that is what I am sketching.

I love to watch you sketch. It’s so freeing. I’ve been thinking about buying a set of different colored gel pens and you’ve convinced me that I NEED them. Cats are a wonderful subject. Just wish I had access to your thrift store.

The pens are my favourite! I definitely want a blue one. Thrift stores are touch and go, you never know what you will find. Good art books are so hard to find. I really lucked out with this one.
