I'm not the biggest fan of grocery hauls, but this one was awesome! I love that you included recipe suggestions and different ways too use the food you bought. Thanks for sharing your ideas!!
Trader Joe's is so my hero!!! Love this store for so many reasons and I can't thank them enough for the help this week. I didn't have a lot of money and they actually helped me get what I needed with the little money I had.
I wish in these grocery haul videos where they say things are affordable that ppl included the price like I bought this rice for 3.99, these veggies were 1.79 a lb or whatever. It would be super helpful esp for new vegans who believe becoming vegan is crazy expensive and they can't afford it.
OMG!!!!!!! I just made your caprese sandwich and it's literally the BEST sandwich I've ever made in my life since going vegan! I smashed the avocado with pink salt, pepper, nutritional yeast & a pinch of red pepper flakes. SO good!!!! 😍
Loved this video! Short and sweet, you get right to the point, without trying to be the star! The food and ideas are the stars.. I'm trying to get my nerve up to become vegan, and what better way because I love TJ's!!!!
New to your videos, just wanted to say I love the way you show how to use the purchases. And that bean recipe is def one I will be doing tonight. Thank you!
I loved this!! So helpful to see how you use the different items!! :) I really wish we had Trader Joes, or any kind of store like this, here... One day! :) xx
Another great use for the broccoli slaw is to make like a creamy slaw, and I use veganaise, but I think thinned tahini would be great too for whole food diet, but I take the broccoli slaw, I add a bit of veganaise, spices, dried cranberries or cherries and slivered almonds...omg it is sooooo good!!! the crunch yum!
yum yum yummmm!! That sounds awesome! I'm doing something similar in Thursday video but it doesn't have broccoli slaw or veganaise but still...it's similar...you'll see lol
I love Trader Joe’s! My fave items are Japanese Fried Rice (frozen and so adaptable) and English Peas (just found these in produce). I eat them raw like peanuts. So sweet, crunchy, and addictive!
thank you so much for these videos i love them so much! I tried being vegan before and I only lasted about a week lol but your videos are helping me try again
Aw thanks Dejana. I did it slowly over time and really focused on all of the amazing foods I could have rather than the foods I couldn't have. It made a huge difference and helped me go vegan and stay vegan :)
- Soft tofu is useful for warm soups. Douhua is made from very soft tofu, and it tastes super delicious. - Firm tofu is useful for stir-frys and probably most solid foods. - In China, there are so many different ways to eat soy. It's the Americans who just happen to know of only soy milk, tofu, and edamame. I think the soy byproducts are usually used in industrial processes in the USA. - I wonder how coconut flour is supposed to work. Can it rise like wheat or rye flour?
Interesting! Yeah soy is in a lot of different things but really only widely known in those three ways you mentioned. Coconut flour is ok...it does rise but it's a little grainy...kinda like almond flour but a little finer. It tastes a little like coconut too. It's ok. Not bad, but also not my first choice if you know what I mean. Maybe I need to experiment a little more with it
I liked your video, and hope to see all of them. It sounds like your rushing though, but I understand if you are just wasn't sure. If you can include how much you spent that would be good, even just a flash of the receipt would be cool.
And please try this super easy sauce for Spaghetti: Just mix diced tomatoes, tomato paste, some spices and tahini and it makes the most amazing creamy sauce!
I love the idea of throwback by the bread in the freezer and just toasting it, but is that bread you showed gluten free and vegan? Having a hard time finding a bread that I actually will eat! Lol great video. Love these hauls! 💕
Great video! Your tahini looks so smooth and creamy! I had read flipping the jar over every now and then helps keep it from getting lumpy but I haven't seen much of an improvement. Mine is lumpy and hard to stir. Do you keep yours in the fridge or pantry?
Just a few thoughts [LONG]... You bought the Balsamic cream (or what it's called). Do you know that it literally takes two minutes to make and you get lots out of a bottle of cheap balsamic vinegar? I found out by just trying, as I tasted it many years ago, but it was nowhere to be found and I just HAD TO have it! Plus, you get to control what kind of sugar goes into it... Pour approx 125ml or 4oz of balsamic vinegar into a small pot. Add lots of sugar, so the heap goes to the top of the vinegar (can be adjusted later). Turn the heat on high and start stirring. Stir until ALL sugar crystals are dissolved or it starts boiling. Take the pan off the heat and drip a drop onto a plate to see how thick it is. You want it "just right" - that wonderful, smooth "cream", but not so thick you can't get it out of the bottle. If it is too thick, add some more vinegar and bring to the boil. If it is too thin, add sugar (and don't be shy about it, this stuff needs sugar and remember, it only takes a little to lift a dish to new heights! ☺️😍 For many, the best thing is that you save a lot on making this, just saw a bottle of the stuff priced at $13! Nuts, IMHO! Add yours to a practical condiment bottle like a clear ketchup bottle or something like that - or reuse a balsamic cream bottle. Did you try to add a tablespoon of it to your marinara sauce? Try 1 tbsp first, then add a bit more, if needed... It sort of gives the impression you made the sauce on Italian super sweet tomatoes, then let your sauce simmer for 7-8 hours, like they do with the best Italian sauce! Nom nom! The "just beets" takes 10 minutes in the microwave! You just need a chip tray or chip maker from aliexpress, it is a white plastic holder ($3?) where you put thin slices of potato or other root veggies. I slice mine super thin, add a bit of salt/spice/herbs and put in the holder in the microwave set on 10 minutes. I open and let out some steam a few times, dry off the door. It is amazingly good, even gets bubbles! Wouldn't believe it had no fat if I didn't know better! YUM! The hummus is just so super easy to make too, and you take control and avoid processed food... 👍☺️ BTW, did you know that you can blend sugar? So if you are making something and need fine sugar or confectioner's sugar, you just add your favorite coarse sugar and blend until it is as you prefer it. Great, since many want to avoid white sugar, but many recipes asks for e.g confectioner's sugar, which is made from white, refined sugar. But, you can take light brown unrefined sugar and blend it fine, until you have the most yummy, beige confectioner's sugar! Soooo easy! Nom nom! I love making proper vanilla sugar too. I cut a couple of vanilla beans in pieces and add to my blender (for this I usually use my bullet blender), then add appr 2dl or 6-7oz of sugar, then blend and keep blending until it is super fine (confectioner's sugar) with a slightly dirty color. This is great, as you utilize the whole bean. If you have used beans where you already used the seeds, save them to use for this! This is literally the best vanilla sugar in the world, IMO! Put it in a nice, little jar and it is a really cute and nice gift for someone! How about adding a jar to some nice coffee for a coffee lover or to some nice vegan chocolate and plant milk as a "Hot Chocolate Kit"? I think that is a nice, thoughtful gift! With a little other chocolate, maybe, it must be a great gift for the upcoming Valentines Day, right? ❤️ Most of what is called "vanilla sugar, has something like 2% of real vanilla, the rest is vanillin from cellulose, but this is the real thing, which is why many are so surprised when they taste it, it tastes different... It is soooooo good! Great to add to your smoothies, blender ice cream etc! You can also make vanilla extract so easily, add bits of vanilla beans to a little bottle and fill it up with either vodka or glycerin (I prefer the latter)... Vanilla powder has become popular now too, it is just the whole bean milled finely, great to do with a bullet blender or spice/coffee grinder. YUM! Who doesn't love vanilla? Too bad it is so expensive now, because of bad weather, much of last year's harvest was lost... Glad I had stocked up on the goodness before that... I have bought packs of 30 beans on eBay... ☺️ Things like the coconut flour you could probably easily make yourself from cheap coconut shavings, if it is expensive, it may make a difference. Don't know how much it costs there, here it is expensive. Can't remember the price, but think it was priced similar to almond flour and that a local store wants $35,50 for 1 kg (2.22lbs). I think that is crazy! I blend a coarse almond meal to use for quick, fresh almond milk (you never want store bought ever again, it is so much better) and also for a great and yummy coffee/tea creamer! I just hated having to plan making milk, since soaking was necessary. Not anymore, it isn't! Well, for the creamer I soak for 30 minutes... OMG, I would love having Trader Joe's here, it seems like a fantastic store! Great they have such a great selection of vegan things... 👏🙌👍😊 LOL, that was a loooong post... I just think it is good to avoid processed food and a lot of what you can buy, is so easy to make, but many never even tried... Some things I also make out of necessity, since the vegan selection at supermarkets isn't that great where I live, but it's getting better each month, since more and more people go vegan... 👏🙌👍 Thanks a lot for great videos! 👏👏👏👏👏❤️
LottaTroublemaker what a lot of good ideas you suggested, thank you. The only thing it's that Trader Joe's makes it so so easy for the lady cook, or people who are not interested in making it themselves from scratch! Otherwise some people willing never become vegan?!
Congratulations on becoming a vegan, and starting this great channel. I noticed you eat a lot of soy. Its best to avoid it if you can. Look up soy as an endocrine disruptor, and also that bpa thats in the plastic gladware you heat your dinners in. Heating plastic releases toxic chemicals from the plastic into your foods. Be healthy!
Loved this! very helpful! I've been wanting to start a vlog/ youtube channel but have no experience editing or anything what kind of camera would you recommend I use?
Thanks Sarah! I use a sonny a5000 and I edit on final cut x ☺️💚 youtube has lots of good tutorials that can help you get started with editing! Have fun and good luck!!
This seems like a lot of food. Do you eat it all before it goes bad? Every time I buy produce, I rarely use it all fast enough. I need to learn to meal plan better.
soinfatuatedxo some trader Joe's don't carry seitan. I'm not sure about tempeh. my sister in law just used to make her own seitan. it's healthier that way and less processed.
I think it's time to reduce packaged food. Many items is so easy to make, the easiest one is salsa you are talking about. Put on your list - reusable water bottle👆.
Aw that's awesome! Try just adding more vegan meals and snacks into your life at first :) I think you'll find that it's super easy and there's so many delicious options
Aw that's really cool! And yeah, their prices are great. Hope you're having a good day!
I've switched on and off with this way of eating, but your clarity has gotten me going. Thank you.
I wish in these grocery haul videos where they say things are affordable that ppl included the price like I bought this rice for 3.99, these veggies were 1.79 a lb or whatever. It would be super helpful esp for new vegans who believe becoming vegan is crazy expensive and they can't afford it.

AWWWWWWW that makes me SO happy, you have no idea!! Thanks for trying my recipe and letting me know :)
Amazing vegan plant based examples of how delicious this way of life is. Beets are amazing....I need to eat after seeing this video!
Loved this video! Short and sweet, you get right to the point, without trying to be the star! The food and ideas are the stars.. I'm trying to get my nerve up to become vegan, and what better way because I love TJ's!!!!

I'm the biggest fan of you and the vegan view girls you are amazing
This is how all grocery hauls should be :))))

I def want to try that retried bean recipe!
I liked your video, and hope to see all of them. It sounds like your rushing though, but I understand if you are just wasn't sure. If you can include how much you spent that would be good, even just a flash of the receipt would be cool.
Thanks! Next time I'll include the prices :) I think all of this was around 100 dollars or less.
I would totally buy your cookbook! Can you get on that? lol
hahaha I might have a little project up my sleeve ;)
Whoo hooo!
Thank you! Super inspiring and easy!
Roast your beets in foil in the oven with salt, pepper and a drizzle of olive oil!! Yummy.
I love just beets! I make a trailmox with it for a to go snack 😍
I love beets too!
And please try this super easy sauce for Spaghetti: Just mix diced tomatoes, tomato paste, some spices and tahini and it makes the most amazing creamy sauce!
Great haul! Thanks for sharing :)
Great video. Love your recipes. 💕💕💕
Love you videos! Always inspires me to eat healthy. Do you have a recipe video for the dish at 3:09? What is the creamy sauce? Looks delicious!! 😊

Love you video Nicole
Lovely video. Thanks!
I loved this video so helpful!
I love the idea of throwback by the bread in the freezer and just toasting it, but is that bread you showed gluten free and vegan? Having a hard time finding a bread that I actually will eat! Lol great video. Love these hauls! 💕
You're terrific!
Great video! Your tahini looks so smooth and creamy! I had read flipping the jar over every now and then helps keep it from getting lumpy but I haven't seen much of an improvement. Mine is lumpy and hard to stir. Do you keep yours in the fridge or pantry?

Thanks for subbing!! Hope you like my videos

I need to make videos. U rock. U include the whole pod if vanilla to make the van sugar?
Great video, thanks so much! :)How many grams of Pasta/Spaghetti do you normally eat in one Portion?
How much did all that cost you? Thanks a bunch for the video. I LOVE your videos!
Loved this!!!! :)
Blend pear and basil for a gourmet smoothie.
Oooo yum that sounds good
The plastic packaging is my only problem with TJ’s. Hope they switch to a sustainable packager soon!
These are my favorite kind of videos to watch! Are you still with your bf? If so, I am impressed that you can get him to eat this healthy!

Aw cool thanks! 💚💚💚 sound great, I’ll check out your channel ☺️
Or you can just mix your favorite marinara sauce with tahini. That's what I did this evening:)
Where is the tempeh in Trader Joe's? I haven't seen that or any type of seitan.
soinfatuatedxo some trader Joe's don't carry seitan. I'm not sure about tempeh. my sister in law just used to make her own seitan. it's healthier that way and less processed.
It would be nice to know the total cost..
i went to Trader Joe's today
Love Trader Joe's! I feel like I'm there constantly lol what did you get? Anything fun?
Me, a Mexican: watching someone blend pico de Gallo :o
the snap peas said use by sep. 10 . 2016??
Good catch. And the tofu said.. Best by 10/7 2016. Black figs 8/25 2016. "Fresh" Basil 8/29 16. Hope Nicole kept her receipt, nor gets sick.
Susana Orozco She filmed this months ago and probably just got around to editing and uploading.
oh ok yea that makes sense (:
I think it's time to reduce packaged food. Many items is so easy to make, the easiest one is salsa you are talking about. Put on your list - reusable water bottle👆.
Yum! Thank you for sharing veganism. I would love if you checked out my latest vegan recipe video. Xo
So much plastic.....wow.
Crystal Green n/Negative Nancy! There's always one on the bunch...lol.
I'm reaaallyyy considering veganism thanks to your food videos 🙈
Aw that's awesome! Try just adding more vegan meals and snacks into your life at first :) I think you'll find that it's super easy and there's so many delicious options
