"I am Darth Plageuis, Veruna. *Your shepherd.* " Goddamn cold. One of my favorite scenes from the novel. I can just picture Veruna flicking on the light, and him seeing the dark figure of a Muun sitting near his bedside. His grim reaper, his shepherd to the nether world of the Force. Scary as hell.
Very interesting that Veruna, for all his corruption and self-serving deeds, admitted that he would've never aligned with a Sith. Even after 1000 years of being extinct, he recognizes that the Sith are the embodiment of pure evil. Meanwhile Nute Gunray was more than happy to ally himself with the Sith.
@@Alztism no he wasn't. Sidious revealed to gunray that he was Sith in there first meeting with the promise of making him very wealthy if gunray agreed to work with him. Gunray happily accepted.

Plagueis is such an interesting character, I love the voice of Daniel Davis, he adds an air of charm and malevolence to Plagueis. People like Verouna, and Paxtine had no idea who or what they were dealing with. They each made a fatal mistake trying to screw with two dark lords of the Sith.
To simply will someone to die is broken af. Granted, we never seen him try to use this against a force sensitive in a combat setting, but damn its still cool
I don't think he could've done that to a Force sensative who was trained yet but with years of experimenting perhaps with live subjects. That's just the tip of the iceburg. He could order a Jedi's midi-chlorians to cut off their access to the Force since they serve as intermediaries. He could also order only a certain amount to leave the body, leaving them as nonforce sensatives. Sidious was still playing with fire though. How often have we seen a hero finally master a skill on their death bed, knowing that they must learn or die. Sidious's betrayal could have been the catalyst, but it couldn't since this was a prequel. His midi-chlorians would multiply until he was as strong as Anakin, then stronger. Remember, Anakin is instrumental in the death of the family on Mortis, the ones Plagueis and other Sith theorized on overthrowing. After that, his power would be even greater.
Anzati hunt down other sentients, hypnotize them, and eat their brains as soup. Their very physiology requires them to be serial killers in sentient society. They are literally predators, in all senses of the word, and no citizen of any civilization can rightfully feel safe around them.
Definitely one of the best scenes of the novel. Unfortunately they forgot to give him the mechanical breathing voice behind the mask which he had at this point.
Wonder if Palpatine left that part in Vader's outfit because he found the sound of a respirator amusing. A reminder of the master he outplayed and slew, yet whose brilliance enabled his victory over the republic and jedi.

Imagine a tv season of Darth Plagueis. First 3 episodes being his upbringing and killing Tenebrous. Next 3 episodes killing his rivals and meeting Palpatine. Episode 7-9 training Sidious, undermining the Republic and surviving his assassination attempt. Final episode putting Sidious as Supreme Chancellor and being killed in turn.
I'm unsure ten episodes would be enough to cover everything. Obviously, some material would be condensed or cut out entirely for the sake of adaptation, but the book is pretty meaty. I could see one episode managing to fit the first four chapters or so into an hour-long episode, though. The second chapter isn't particularly long in terms of stuff actually happening, the third is mostly from the perspective of the Woebegon crew, and the fourth is largely about Plagueis killing them all and meeting 11-4D. I could definitely see those opening chapters being condensed into an hour-long episode.
@@rhenvao2844 No ten is enough. This scene, I would love a good fanfiction on this. Probably one of the best scenes in the book...and there were several that were outstanding and need to be visualized. This is my favorite scene, to kill with pure will, not with a touch or a weapon. Now that is the Power of the Darkside!!!
Funny how...Plagueis never suspected his apprentice of putting the hit on him, now that would have been interesting if his master found out..."I always knew you would betray me Sidius...you were always impatient and weak!"

Can you upload the whole part that begins right after this chapter, where Palpatine scolds Maul for revealing the Sith to the enemies he was tasked to kill? You uploaded only a small part of it, but the whole thing in the book is great.
Uploading excerpts is a bit difficult these days, I have to keep them at a certain time length because UA-cam won't allow the whole novel or a longer clip. But sure, I can try.
Veruna wasn't framed. He actually did try to have Plagueis killed. He almost succeeded. Plagueis and Palpatine used their political connections to have him removed from office. Veruna then went into "hiding". Plagueis found him, sneaked onto the property and into his room while he slept. Plagueis then told him he was a sith lord while he used the force to shut down Veruna's limited number of midichlorians to shut down. Which slowly and peacefully killed him. The novel "Darth Plagueis" is easily one of the best, if not THE best, Star Wars books. And I don't care what disney and lucasfilm say, I'm count it as the true lore. What they've done to Star Wars is a travesty.

A muun with a black cloak, a breathing mask giving him an otherworldly feel, arriving silently as the reaper and life fled where he cast his shadow.
That might be my favorite Star Wars quote of all time. Shame it won’t be done properly on the big screen.

Always chilling how, in the end there, the Force showed Plagueis a hint of his future death at the hands of Sidious, the Shadow in the Dark Side.
One of THE BEST books that Lucusfilms has and still a great book to read. A shame we don’t have a Plagueis show, it would’ve been a beyond success.
