I definitely feel like the yarn bag would work totally fine with a bigger ball of yarn if you used the center pull instead of the outside pull, even without the yarn winder
ok so I went through cosmetician school from autumn 1994 to summer 1995 as a teenager. My first week of school I was so excited, I ran out to the supply store to pick up the implements I needed & saw the perfect little pair of precision hair cutting scissors! I have child-sized hands so they appeared to be made for me. I thought the price said $8.00 sale so I grabbed them. At the counter when my basket was rung up, I CHOKED. Embarrassed & not wanting to look a fool, I somberly paid & left. Those scissors were almost $100 on a huge -80% off sale!!! Thought I was going to die. However... they are German made steel and I now realize they're top of the line. I have never had to have them sharpened & am careful not to drop them! (I'm not working in the field anymore) but I definitely got what I paid for with them & I do still cut my hair & my family's hair with them. Lesson learned about being a careful shopper as an adult though 😂
Ooh, I have one of those necklace cutters! Granted, I don't think mine was actually advertised as being for a necklace. I attached it to a key ring and hooked it to my project bag, so I never have to worry about whether I remembered to put my scissors back in the bag when I take it somewhere.
I have the necklace cutter. The blade inside is replaceable, and while I don't wear mine as a necklace, it can easily be attached to a bag with a keychain or cord. I will advise (I'm US based, so ymmv) to my knowledge, that style of cutter is NOT TSA approved, because it is a rotary cutter blade inside, and that style of blade is prohibited from being in a carry on. UK/EU might have different rules. Definitely check before you fly.
I’m from USA n ❤️that u breakdown Temu items. Being 77 budget senior I’ve used Temu for sometime now n your videos have helped so much as Temu doesn’t give much description to there products. Thank you so so much
I have rainbow scissors from Temu but they made a mistake and sent me a pair with rounded ends instead of pointy. They refunded me the cost and told me to keep the scissors which was nice. The rounded ends are a bit odd but they cut yarn (and dog's hair) just fine and also have the benefit that they don't have pointy ends to stick through things - I guess maybe you only need pointy ends if you embroider ?? I'd also suggest trying to go for a centre pull with your nifty little yarn bag - though have to admit I totally fail at ever finding the centre to get it to pull out that way. Think there must be a knack that I don't have. Congratulations upon your wedding and am so curious about how your hair will look. Best wishes and thanks for an interesting video.
Awh thank you so much for your best wishes. I know the dogs hair 🙈🙈🙈 but he was just swishing that tail around with white paint on everywhere so it was a panic quick get it out 🤣🤣🤣
They work better if you pull from the center of a skein or cakes. The circle cutter is great , I've used them for decades. A long necklace or if your lucky and can find one with a large top hole a keychain.
I have bigger bag from Temu like yours. I think it’s great if your wool pulls from middle. It’s very easy to wind wool having middle pull without winder. All you need is toilet roll holder or other cardboard cylinder like paper towel etc. I found that hack on u tube the bag ups bought is bigger. Ut will take wool and project. Must be lucky in aus
The bag is super cute!!! I use a cake winder & I do have a larger project bag similar to this & it works great. The one I bought is the Knit Picks Yarn Ball Winder ($33 USD) but I've had NO issues with it. I keep it in the box when not in use. It easily winds yarn into cakes while I watch videos like this. The box is maybe around an 8 inch /20-21 cm cube so it doesn't take up much room. There are only 3 parts to put together to use it. I'd love a wooden one with replaceable parts one day but they are ungodly pricey... maybe it'll come as a special holiday gift one day 😇
Omg the stork scissors. I too had always wanted some of those, and like you, thought they were a bit pricey. Found a set at Aldi a couple of years ago. (Came with matching thimble in a box for Mother's day) for around $4 AU. Still using & loving them to this day.
I know the stork scissors had me at hello 🤣🤣🤣 oooh our Aldi in the UK does a lot of yarn etc but never any cute accessories like that I'll have to keep my eyes peeled now though 😊
I love those crochet hooks!! They’re wonderful and I’ve been obsessed with TEMU and didn’t notice I ordered two of the same . Also got those scissors in the rainbow and the threat cutter I would use it for sewing g threads . Also that little tote, if u make the yarn into cakes it’s way easier to pull the work through the string
I've only used a blade cutter like that for thread. It has some braided leather attached to it so you can pick it up easily but I'd never wear it around my neck. The most expensive scissor I bought were cheap sheers that cost around $30USD, lose estimate that'd be around $25 GBP? I want a decent pair of sheers some day and those cost aroun $75 USD.
I think I'm going to attach it to my crochet bag on a keychain so I've always got a cutter to hand 😊 I know what you mean about scissors my dream pair of shears with gold handles coming in around the same price but right now my tummy does flips if I think about buying them lol 😆 it's too expensive for now but definitely a some day 😊
I don't know why I just can't wear it 🙈🙈🙈 I know I'm not going to like everything AND it does a really good job so suits its purpose well ☺️ I just wish they'd make them a bit funkier right?
The one I own is from Clover, and I do understand they're not too pretty to look at, but in the autumn I wear darker colours and looks cool! I just like to have it on a long necklace so I don't catch my hair in it
those hooks remind me of my yarniss hooks that i got on amazon:) the grip looks somewhat similar but the yarniss ones are metal hooks and they come with a zipper pouch! the grip also somewhat reminds me of boye ergonomic hooks which are also rubber grip metal hook.
I have to admit the grips on them are amazing. I've had to have steroid injections in my wrist before and have been playing around with grips to see if there's any that truly alleviate the pain. These do the trick I couldn't believe it I didn't expect much from them but they are cracking 😊
I’ve been using the crayola brand scissors I picked up for my granddaughter. They have rubber on the handles, metal blades and are the perfect size, I can’t remember how much they were but not much, a couple of CDN dollars. I never thought to look on temu for crochet supplies but if you come across more items a review would be great!
I found a pair of scissors similar to these for $4 on Amazon, and they went up to $9 without me knowing and I accidentally bought them at $9😭 never again lol. I love them, but never again. Just found your channel btw, subscribed! Your personality is adorable
Funny that you accidentally said you cut jewelry wire, I wasn’t thinking and used my brand new $9 scissors to cut jewlery wire and ruined them😭😂 gotta resharpen them when I can get around to it
Awh thank you so much for your lovely comments 💕 😊 I don't know why but tiny scissors I just couldn't pay anything over £5 for them I just can't justify it. And to be fair the temu ones are still going strong still sharp and working well 😊
@@CrocreatebySarah they won’t stay sharp if you cut paper & card with them, paper dulls scissors so quickly. I have a small pair of fiskars embroidery scissors that I only use for thread, yarn & ribbon & they are super sharp & I’ve had them for years.
I got that same exact set of hooks for the same reasons. I really wanted to like them and I truly tried. Everything about them is great except one wee little teenie-tiny problem. Incidentally, it's the same problem I experienced with other hooks that had rubber on the end. The shaft is too short. That must not be a common issue because i am finding it rather difficult to locate hooks with a longer shaft. Sadly, that's why I am still using basic metal hooks.
I completely understand that because I crochet with literally the end of the hook very close to the point so I prefer a shorter shaft. Have you tried a Tunisian hook as a substitute? They are naturally longer and hold the stitches along the hook so the hook itself is the same mm as the shaft. Might be worth a try 🙂
I really dislike bags like that, you need to keep the project with it untill your done. Don't want the bag anymore? you need to either cut your yarn or unwind the ball/cake. Want a bag where you can detatch your project? Good luck finding one that fits what you need and isn't closed by velcro.
Ugh I hate velcro closures on yarn bags who even thought that was a good idea!!! I know I love the bag and the idea of it but it's just not fit for purpose unless you have a centre pull ball 🤷♀️
@@zoerose3478 not just the ends it can undo the yarn into just fibers if it get stuck enough, And if you dont line the two sides up good enough when closing the yarn can rub agaist it making it fuzzy!
I had the round cutter on a chain around my neck, and I bent over to pick something up and it cut off a chunk of my long hair. Not a lot of it, thank goodness.
Oh no! Thank goodness it didn't cut a large chunk off! Not sure if I want to wear a blade around my neck 😅 but a lot of people have suggested popping it on a keychain 🙂
OK, the Crochet hooks, I bought some once that had the size printed on the side. After I used them for a project the size rubbed off. Do you think that could happen with these?
That's a good question. The size is indented in the hook like sitting in a little well and it's rarer I'm touching it whilst using it. They are colour coordinated so you could note the sizing by colour just in case but I'm honestly not sure. I've had them for a few months now and no issues so far 🙂
I don't blame you 😊 we are just skint right now and I wanted to show that people can have some smaller pleasures at a smaller cost. I know a lot of people crochet or craft for their mental health and times are tough so why not highlight some good cheaper supplies 😊

Yes I never even thought about a centre pull 👍🏻👌🏻 ill definitely give that a go 😊👏🏻

Hi, pendant cutter can be worn as a lariat or opera (longer necklace 30-35 inches), this way they are easier to use. Hope this helps.
Congratulations on your wedding that's coming up❤. God bless you both❤

My mother had a pair of antique stork scissors. They were wonderful. Never needed sharpening. Wish I had them.
Personally out of everything I liked the hooks! Mainly because of the pastel colours 💚✨

Most definitely, bought a yarn winder too because why not 🤣 I needed one after I bought the bag 😆
