That’s true. I had the privilege of training with Andre Galvao for about a year, he trained with everyone as often as he could too. I trained at Marcelo Garcia academy in Manhattan for 2 years, I rolled with him one time, for a 15 second time limit where you try to escape with your partner on your back. I was training 4-6 times per week consistently. Idk what that says but, you’re definitely right lol.
I can tell you firsthand the terror when you’re standing around watching Ryron and he points at you and does the “c’mere” gesture! But he’s an amazing teacher 🙌🏾🥋
Being good on your back is everything In BJJ as far as I am concerned in real life fight the natural tendency is two get the mount and rain down punches , when you get good on your back you can bait with the mount...…………..
Woe betide thee who thinks they can control Ryron from the Mount. I’ve tried, and my first conscious thought after getting in the Mount was “why is the whole world suddenly turning upside-down?”
Trap and Roll is basically the very first lesson that you will learn at Gracie Academy (Gracie University). If you can control the punches and cut of his range, you work up to a tricep grip and then roll :)
I understand what you mean. You simply have to take what the opponent gives you. Trap and Roll is used in a chain of different escapes. Use it as a set up for another escape, or use another escape as a setup for the trap and roll. In either way you sweep them end up in a much better position than being mounted. Work 2-3-or 4 different escapes in a chain alternating between them. The one technique that will finally work to get the sweep is the "best technique" in that particular situation =) good Luck !
I don’t know what a “super hook” is, but plenty were using their hooks (leg, feet) and Ryron was able to strip them away using his own feet/legs (positioning as well).
That’s what Gracie jiujitsu was originally designed for. To beat untrained opponents. But I can tell you that as a non competitive purple belt hobbyist, I can do this to most people because I’ve practiced it a lot. People give up on the fundamentals too easily. There’s a reason Roger beat everyone with a cross collar choke from mount.
there's a sweep/reversal he hits every single time from bottom side mount (i think, i can double check with my teacher, who is ryron's direct student). when people asked him (ryron), he said, yes, i can hit it only all the time. i learned it but it's not a usual move that i drill a lot so i've forgotten it.
It looks impressive but there's a huge skill difference, if a high level wrestler is in mount it'd be a really tough time if not impossible for him to escape. It's the equivalent trick of a trained striker dodging punches without blocks only body and head movements from a tomato can. In the words of gsp I'm not impressed.
That's not true. Ryron is able to trap and roll his way out from under world champions. What makes this impressive is that he limited himself to only doing trap and rolls, and had to forego several hip escape opportunities etc.
What's truly amazing is he's telling and showing them in advance what he's going to do to them....and they still can't stop him
That's Khabib.
I'm so proud to call Ryron my teacher!!! He's the best !!!
He’s mine too....from home
@@jims512 Does it count if i see im teach on UA-cam? 😂😂😂
Sure
He makes it look so easy on a room full of tough dudes... This is why they are the best!
Pretty awesome he trains with everyone there. Most instructors at seminars won't do that.

I can tell you firsthand the terror when you’re standing around watching Ryron and he points at you and does the “c’mere” gesture! But he’s an amazing teacher 🙌🏾🥋
*THIS GUY IS A BEAST* !!!!!!!!! i love Gracie
I will ask my trainer to make a day of this. Focus to detail and concentration. I love Ryron Gracie. Amazing.
So simple and so effective, lock down the elbow and arm and hook the same side leg and push off the otherside..
This is like one of those kung fu movies where the bad guys keep coming !!
And the Hero STILL wins!
Please continue to teach around the world.
Ryron Gracie is the man! Trap & Roll all day long!

Awesome!! Thanks for sharing.
Trap and roll from the mount!😂 I love it.
incrível a facilidade
Someone tell me... what is the only all the time??
Can I use this in self defense situation or if he's punching you from the mount?

i like the way Ryron is giggeling in the fight/demo… reminds me of myself xD

“Super Hooks”: Master Cycle Blue Belt Stripe 1 Chp 1 Lesson 1
at 2:41 the mat says: what!?
trap and roll IS life
Is elbow escaping not preferable to the mount if you want to play guard since if you trap in roll you end up in your opponents guard

Kron is Rickson's son, he has his own academy
his height helped
Nice fan guy shit!!
Why doesn't any of these guys at least put their super hooks in?
I don’t know what a “super hook” is, but plenty were using their hooks (leg, feet) and Ryron was able to strip them away using his own feet/legs (positioning as well).
Just about everyone in the video did a low moun,t knees in the armpit.
Suppose any of these people have even a though He ain’t rolling me
Gotta say, most of these guys didn't know the first thing about jiu jitsu, that's why he was having such an easy time

Effortless

Can I ask everyone here what Ryron means by, "only, all the time."
Thanks in advance!
DarkG117 Always do it..I think..

For a sweep brah?
Trap & Roll works....only all the time :-) (at least when you’re Ryron).
this is actually so homoerotic lmao
Everybody has a plan until you get punched in the face.
You don't watch a lot of BJJ videos, do you?

Calm down tough guy.
GSP trains with the Gracies and got his black belt from them. 😆

Well... you did not see Ryron trap and roll Andre Galvao (arguably a high level grappler) in a match then...
Take back
