Kevin is the definitive voice actor for Batman. Thank you for keeping us entertained for all these years.
I would drop the voice and just say he is the voice of both Batman and Bruce alike. But that’s just me
I read anything Batman, I hear Kevin Conroy’s voice in my head.
@@commanderjoj6426
Same 🦇
I don’t think you need that extra qualifier for him. He is the definitive Batman.
"was" show respect
Kevin Conroy’s passing was the only one of a celebrity that made me actually cry. I still feel sad about it regularly. He was a nice man and an awesome talent, the definitive voice of Batman.
Yeah
I didn't cry but it hit me so hard that someone might think that he was a part of my family. He's been such a part of my life as Batman that it was hard to believe he was gone. That shock hasn't entirely disapated
@@SuperBatmanNerd Yeah, he was so ubiquitous for so long for Batman fans like us, it’s really unlike any other celebrity death. He was always there, and so loved.
Someone who understands 🤧
Didn't cry for MJ,Robin Williams?
I think its really honorable that Mark has decided to stop voicing Joker. These 2 were made for each other. Rest well Kevin, thank you for everything. ❤🦇
and yet he couldn't find time to pop on screen for a few minutes in this documentary to talk about his dear old friend?, forgive me if I find it just a bit weird.
@@thegladve Some people prefer to mourn in private. It doesn't all have to be a circus for our consumption
@@Vsirin well I'm not suggesting it should be I'm only pointing the fact that it feels weird not to contribute to a celebration/ memory of a long time friend, especially if that friend died sooner then intended.
@@thegladve Is it weird as in "unexpected"? Sure. But I personally wouldn't bring up how weird it is as you have unless I'm implicitely, and not so subtly, insinuating that I suspect there to be malicious reasons on the part of Mark Hamill for his absence. So if that's what you're doing, and unless you know something we don't, please don't be like that. We don't know the man, we don't know what went on with the production of this documentary, and we don't know the reasons.
Yeah, I think it was the right thing for Hamill to retire the role with the passing of his Batman. I also think the DCAU continuity should be fully put to rest with his passing, too, despite having pushed for a Justice League reunion movie for years up to that point.
Look at how young he looked when he first did the voice for Batman.
Would have been a great live action choice for him then.
In his later years he would have been a great Jim Gordon or a Neal Adams Joker.
@@MildMisanthropeMaybeMassive
He could have done an older Bruce Wayne like he did in Batwoman
@@MildMisanthropeMaybeMassive He was way more handsome and charming than...Michael Keaton and i love Keaton but man Conroy would ve killed it as a live action Batman.
@@miltontavares9506 so handsome.. really has the Hollywood leading man look.im.not kidding but young Kevin Conroy in this video looks exactly like my imaginary husband..just I didn't have a voice..but now I'm like Whoa!!! Eerie
Such an iconic voice. We'll NEVER forget you, Kevin. Rest In Heaven 🙏🏻❤
Never will be another one!
Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill, the best Batman and the best Joker of all time.
My all time favorite voice actors.

While I am bummed that the more time passes, the less people will know about Kevin's Batman voice, I am happy he has at least permeated enough mediums as Batman that, statistically, you've come across his iconic voice at some point. Man was destined to be Vengeance. To be the Night. To be Batman.
In college, his roommate was Robin Williams. Batman and Robin.
They might not know his name but they will know his voice. Batman is forever, and so is Kevin Conroy.
R.I.P Kevin Conroy. You'll always be the voice of Batman. I'll never forget being a kid watching BTAS on Kids WB and Cartoon Network.

Rest in Peace Kevin Conroy (Batman)
I met Kevin back in 2014 at the Salt Lake Comic Con. I hadn't brought anything for him to sign, and we had about 45 min before I was going to meet him. So, I wandered around trying to find posters for him to sign. I kept finding a lot of Arkham ones, but no animated series ones. Finally, I found someone selling the full-size movie poster for the Mask of the Phantasm. I was overjoyed. It is one of my favorite animated movies ever. I bought it and went to get in line. When it finally got to my turn, he unrolled the poster and said, "Oh wow! I absolutely love this artwork! This was one of my favorite projects I worked on!" He really loved his fans and went out of his way to make each and every one of us feel important and special. All I can say is: "Thank you for being our hero, Kevin."

It's crazy that it's been almost two years that we lost an all time great who deserves every MAJOR acting accolade possible just by being in a booth for 30 years, more voice actors in animation deserve more spotlight and appreciation in the public eye. We love you and miss you KC 🦇 👑. But most importantly thank you to The Emmy winning BTAS cast and crew still on this Earth and onto the heavens for their contribution with this masterpiece that should have won an Oscar for best animated film 🙏🏾🙏🏾👑👑
I never got to meet Kevin conroy he never knew me didn't know I existed but he helped me though some of the most difficult times in my life and he never knew. I'll never forget him
Kevin Conroy will always be the definitive voice of The Dark Knight, he gave such a phenomenal performance that never felt unnatural. He captured the depth of Bruce Wayne tragedy to a heroic role of the Caped Crusader. Thank you, Kevin, and rest in peace 🦇
Losing him hit me so hard. Especially after finding out how many Batmans he played.. I didn't know...
My Facebook and IG profile pictures are still the Bat Signal. 😭😭😭😭😭
What I love is that besides voicing essentially two characters, each character had their own range, each had their own calm to intense flavors. As with everyone else, Kevin is who I hear in my head when reading these characters.
He made part of my childhood. I looked forward to every single Batman cartoon that came on at that time. That, and Gargoyles.
It was change in cartoon culture then. Cartoons were starting to grow up with their audience.
Other actors will come and go, but it’s hard to see any of them hold a candle to him.
Rest in peace, Kevin. In the words of Troy Baker, you will always, always, ALWAYS be Batman ❤🦇

Rest In Peace Legend...
Your shadow still lives on in the night, Mr. Conroy, and may we continue to hear its voice from the roof tops.
1955-2022.
Kevin Conroy set the standard for voicing Batman/Bruce Wayne. This movie, BTAS, and other series/movies in which he voiced them would not have been the same without him. He helped raise them to another level. Hard to believe he's been gone over 1.5 years. 😢
I often think about something that he said in a Cameo video I was gifted for my birthday 4 years ago:
"You don't have to be a superhero to want to give to your community, to your family, to your friends. You don't have to be a superhero to want to leave the world a better place ... All you have to do is care about people."
I had the great honour of meeting Kevin Conroy at a comic con during his appearance in London back in 2018 and he was a true first class gentleman with a Clint Eastwood like presence. I got a picture with him and it's a moment that I truly treasure as someone who grew up in the 90s watching BTAS every week on Cartoon Network & CITV to actually meeting the man behind the voice is an experience I will never ever forget. Conroy was a special person who only comes along every once in a while and captured the love of everyone worldwide for decades. We have lots of dark knights but we have one true definitive voice of Batman.
RIP Kevin Conroy and thank you for being a big part of my childhood
I’ve never met him, but I’ve seen enough videos of him at conventions and such to know that he really did seem to be super sweet and genuinely caring about each and every individual fan. I think he got so much joy out of bringing joy to people, so he just loved the role and everything that came with it
Batman mask of The phantasm a fantastic movie, IT deserved more attention and bigger box office numbers
Kevin Conroy's and Jason David Frank's deaths were the worst and they were weeks apart. They were my childhood heroes during the 90s.
Me too
Yeah same than last year we lost Tina Turner, Paul Reubens, Mark Margolis, Arleen Sorkin, Bob Barker, Richard Moll, Matthew Perry, and James McCaffery
Same man same
@@abramsullivan7764they died in 2023, Kevin passed in November 2022
Agreed. I may not have known who Kevin Conroy was because I was such a naive little girl back then, but I recognized JDF easily as Tommy Oliver. And hearing about these amazing men passing away so suddenly really cut deep for me.
The day Kevin died, to me was the day the Batman died. From now on we will have people portraying Batman, but nobody will ever be Batman again. Rip Kevin, you gave me my hero
Rest in Peace, Mr. Conroy. Even if you only portrayed through your voice, you touched people's lives, mine included. Through your voice, you gave me a hero I needed in my life, one who, rather that feel sorry for himself, taught me to turn my pain into something positive to help myself and others, like Batman.
Kevin Conroy will always be my Batman. Whether it's voice over or live action (because he's done both 😁), no one will ever play Batman better, in my opinion. I'm just sad I never got to meet him at a convention. Thank you for all the years of entertainment, Mr. Conroy. Rest in Peace.
This guy has been Batman for as long as I remember, memories of being like 4 years old sitting three inches from the screen and watching Batman the animated series, to all the way into adulthood, thanks Kevin for the amazing childhood
One Of The Best To Ever Be & Voiced The Dark Knight... RIP Kevin Conroy
Rest in peace Batman. Thank you for all of our childhoods!
If there is an afterlife it is a bit brighter because of Kevin. In a way he, and his Julliard classmates, represented something important. Kevin represented kindness, Christopher Reeve hope, and Robin Williams laughter.
The one true Batman. Rest in peace, Kevin.
Kevin and Mark ARE Batman and the Joker. Definitively. No performance has surpassed them together
Every year on the day that Conroy passed, I always watch the end of the episode “Nothing To Fear” where Bruce visits his parent’s grave and leaves a rose. But instead I envision us fans visiting Conroy’s grave leaving a rose then walking away with the shadow of Batman behind us.
"To be a part of (an icon)". He was, is and forever will be an icon.
I cant recall missing an actor this much ever in my life and its weird to put this out there in the cold internet but, its true.
Of course he's more than an actor to me, its the one person that through his acting gave me strength when I needed it the most. Still does.
Just like the end of the Grey Ghost:
"He was my hero" - "really?" - "and he still is...!"
Best Batman bar none. My sons grew up watching Batman: The Animated Series, Justice League, etc with me. My oldest son met Kevin Conroy at Comic Con about ten years ago. He was gracious, kind and gave my son as much time as he could. When my son told him Old Man Bruce from Batman Beyond was his favorite Bruce Wayne version of all, Conroy dropped his voice into that characterization with a smile. He gave my boy a story he still tells with joy and will for the rest of his life. I only wish I could have thanked him in person for that.
After all this time I still miss Kevin so much. Never met the man. But I feel like he was there with my since I was a little boy. There will never be a better Batman.
Happy Pride Month, Kevin. We all miss you as our Batman.
When I was younger I ran a summer activity program for the local library I worked at, and I decided to make it comic book themed. One of the events we ended up doing was a movie day with all the kids who came to the library. We had a bunch of comic book movies from DC to Marvel to live action to animated, and we put them into a hat to decide which one they watched. And the second movie that was picked was Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. All of the kids were bummed because they'd been hoping for the Avengers or Thor or something, so I told them "We'll put this movie on first and if you're not enjoying it after 20 or 30 minutes, we can try a different movie."
Those kids sat glued to their seats and watched the whole movie. Every time I checked in on them they were quiet as mice (even the more rowdy kids). One kid told me the Joker scared them and wanted me to stay in the room for a minute until Batman came back on screen. When it finished they told me they really liked it, and then we moved onto the Avengers like I promised. The next day, one of the kids came back and asked me if there were any other movies with 'the same Batman that was in the movie'. Even for a kid who had never seen a Batman movie before, Conroy's voice left a strong impression.
My parents weren't great people and I've always said I was basically raised by Kevin Conroy as Batman. His loss was one of the most significant events of my life. I'm so grateful for what he gave us for so long. He'll forever be my Batman. So touching to see all his colleagues reminisce about him. I wish I had the chance to meet him.
Saying Kevin is Voiceing Batman is the same as saying Batman is Voiceing Batman. He isnt an actor any more. He just is Batman. RIP
Kevin Conroy will always be remembered. I hope he's happy in Heaven. He will always be Batman for me.
I believe he’s happy 😃 in Heaven.
I am glad he give us his voice to batman. I will always rewatch everything with him. Kevin Conroy, your work is a precious gift & will remain here with us to enjoy over and over again.
Man was handsome AF. True Bruce Wayne
dead or alive Kevin Conroy will always be the top batman voice actor. just the same, I hope James Gunn's DCU Batman will sound like Kevin Conroy as a bat voice disguise while whoever will play Bruce Wayne will use his true voice.
Kevin Conroy did portrayed Batman perfectly. I'm very glad we have him until now, rest in peace king!

November of that year was sad for all of us 90s kids. First, we lost Kevin Conroy, and then Jason David Frank. Rest in peace to both of them!

R.I.P. Mr. Kevin Conroy, you are the definitive voice of Batman. Your work as Batman's voice was a huge part of my childhood. Thanks, for the memories.
R.I.P. To Kevin Conroy

Kevin Conroy's passing really hit me. In the 90s he was the Voice of Our Batman just as Keaton was Our Bruce Wayne. What Kevin did for Batman can't be overstated. He will never be forgotten. Rest in Power, Kevin. Thank you!!

The Definitive Voice of the Batman.
to see how respectful Warner Bros and DC are with how they are Honoring Kevin Conroy Legacy just goes to show how special the man truly was. how much of an impact he had on our lives and how dearly he is missed.
His passing hurt. The animated series molded my childhood and imagination. The games, movies, etc. He was Batman. Rest in peace! 😢
This came with the 4K release of Mask of Phantasm. Kevin Conroy is the only voice I hear for Batman. I cannot believe he is gone.
The legend
Kevin was my Batman and Tom Welling was my Superman. I grew up with Batman in animation and Superman in Smallville.
Rip hero
Amazing, creating a show for older ages, where younger audiences could reach up and grasp it. What a brilliant way to look at what makes great stories for all ages

I never had the opportunity to meet Kevin Conroy as a fan. That is something I'll always regret. However, I'll always be grateful to just have heard him as the voice of batman. Goodbye, Mr Conroy. I'll forever miss you and your beautiful voice.
Total legend
Kevin Conroy was a great man. I mean, I love the voice so much that it's ingrained into my memory. The beauty in the simplicity, the emotional aspects, the power in his voice, the collaborating with other voice actors, the love from fans and the crew, it's all just so astonishing. I'll never know another voice like Kevin's. Even in the Arkham games, he was flawless. I hope he knows that we still love him, even when he's no longer with us.
By the way, Dana Delaney would go on to voice many more people in animation, including Lois Lane in Superman: The Animated Series.
Growing up with the animated series i am so appreciative of Kevin and Mark for coming back for the Arkham games i love so much and plan on replaying them to hear those wonderful voice performances again RIP Kevin after seeing these comments and reactions you are truly missed
I feel so lucky to have gotten to see Mask of the Phantasm in its original theatrical run.
And, I first saw Batman mask of the phantasm in the rerelease of the movie theaters back in 2018.
Long live that beautiful man…anytime I think or see Batman I will alway see and hear that man’s voice or face. We Love you Kevin and we all still grieve of our loss of you..
I think a big reason so many of us consider Kevin Conroy to be the true voice of Batman has to do with the fact that not only was his performance an absolute stand out, but he was Batman for multiple projects, not just the Bruce Timm DCAU.
He was in multiple Batman shows as well as batman related games across a decade or so. When you stuck on a Batman show or game, the chances were high that Kevn Conroy was there as the voice of Batman.
He will always be the voice I hear when reading the comics, and to many, he will always be The Batman.
Edit: somome just said all of that in the documentary. The comment stays up.
Thank you Kevin for bringing life to this character and for being a treasured part of my childhood. Rest easy Knight, your crusade is now complete. RIP and thank you again...
There was no batman then Kevin Conroy a legendary hero And voice strong from the beginning to batman beyond as older Bruce Wayne
Thank you Kevin Conroy 🙏 you were my introduction to Batman and in animation thank you all who worked on Batman: The Animated Series your also so talented thank you for the memories this will always be my version of Batman
I thank my lucky stars I got a hug from this man before we lost him.
"I didn't count on being happy" That scene hits hard.
We love you Kevin
I vividly remember my youth of being a latchkey kid and going home after school and I had a routine of having a late lunch, and watching the Batman Animated Series while eating. I remember those moments more than anything else that happened in school. The show had a rich storytelling that still holds up through time.
RIP to one of the greats. He was such a big part of my childhood and adulthood. Thank you so much Kevin.
We are so grateful we got to meet kevin at a convention a few years ago. The energy was so joyful. He took being Batman seriously and elevated an already great character to something transcendent.
That is so beautiful, & honoring Kevin's legacy. he really was Batman & an amazing person & incredible actor & my favourite Batman beside Keaton 💖💖🦇🦇🦇🦇

Im so grateful to live in a time where I can appreciate Kevin Conroy and his amazing legacy. What a legend.
May his memory be for a blessing. He made my childhood great.
Such an iconic voice and performance. it hits hard knowing he's gone but his voice will live on forever and will always be my batman thank you for being part of my childhood R.I.P Kevin 😢
I think just saying his voice is iconic is doing a disservice to Kevin's work as it negates the nuance and range he has given to the character that's missing from nearly every other interpretation. You see, most Batman actors do their best tough guy voice in the cowl, live action or animated and that's more or less what they're required to do with the role. Kevin can have an intimidating voice, but there many scenes throughout the animated series, films and videogames where he has to be thoughtful, calm, introspective, remorseful, scared, compassionate, stoic, clinical, cynical, bitter, assertive, and even sing. Saying he is iconic and nostalgic does not do justice to the fact that he has to portray so many emotions as Batman throughout his 30 year tenure.
That writer loving his job so much is a great thing to see. An actual fan of what he’s involved in
He became an icon that can never be replaced in history.
Kevin was/is/always will be the DEFINITIVE Batman. No doubt about it.
How can you miss someone you never knew so much
