I’m officially envious. I watched a lot of Serek’s vids. The tone is monsterous, warm, articulate and useful. That bass is a 10. Happy to see one on your channel.
Oh dude YES I feel so heard and represented, best Valentine’s Day gift I’ve ever gotten🧡 I’ve been drooling over these for months now, and I wanted the lobster take!! Cant wait for the full review, already loving the sound.
got my new Sire U5 short scale yesterday and a big WOW what a beautiful bass guitar, and at such a great price, you get suck a great bass for $500 . . . now that's one of the best good deals I've seen . . thanks again for your review on the U5 and so glad I got one
Lobster: the minute you pull the gig bag out of the cardboard box I was totally hooked at that point lol. I mean the gig bag alone is NICE! It only got better after that with the bass. That is one cool and beautiful bass. Take care. Patrick
Love this bass. I think "family man" Barrett would love it too. It just oozes reggae thump. Especially for what looks like a short scale bass. Your video on this is just a blast to watch!
I'm going to start calling the slide from the minor 3rd to major 3rd, then hitting the root on 1: The Lobster Lick. Another great vid, not enough Serek demos. Would love to see a Sacramento with TV Jones Thunder'trons vs Rickenbacker shootout.
Just out of curiosity have you had any experience with spector coda pro basses been eyeballing one but there's barely any info on them other than spec's
Wow is right. The design reminds me of my old Epiphone Coronet with the butterfly pickguard. This thing is beeeautiful. Now I'm feeling thoughts of regret for getting rid of that Coronet. Honestly, that bass looks just like it.
I love the gig bag. Don't know why more companies don't pay more attention to that. The Vintage brand has the best, in my opinion, gig bags. Waxed cotton and very heavy duty. It seems like a great way to advertise a brand? Is it me, or does that bass look like an epiphone? It's kind of s shame, because I know it is better looking in person. I do love the sound. Very clear bottom end. No wool, as we used to say. Sounds amazing. I'm certain the craftsmanship is amazing. Great review!
Neat bass. Reminds me of the Gibson Les Paul Jr that i briefly owned (should have kept) one hb with pull switch on a medium scale hog body. I just emailed them to see if they might be willing to sell just the pickup itself....
3:40 good job remember to flash the back - that thing is BEAUTIFUL in the back. I wish mahogany was a grainier wood sometimes but then again it's easy to pick out mahogany in a crowd if you can see the wood. You know what you're getting and expectation leveling is good.
4:50 damn. DEFINITELY PITCH YOUR PICKUPS TO OLA. Someone tell ola and they can stop paying Fishman as well as get rid of batteries while sounding better.
7:00 Focusing on passive only has led him to this tone - and everyone knows, once you nail your pickups the preamp is just the fun part to swap em around and see what you like at any given time, because your pickup performance is nailed there will be MANY more preamp options that sound GREAT with your platform. A good pickup is a good pickup. You can't cheat passives, and you've heard me say that at least a dozen times before lol
If this bass was maple/maple it would sound even gnarlier lol my TL-5 loves those fuzzy super ferrites lol and the maple hardens up the tone up *just* enough. And it's got a preamp but it sounds great both way, TBH, and I would say that's the super ferrites...if a pickup works great passively, then you are going to amplify goodness no matter what you throw under it.
very nice looking, and I'm sure a great bass to play & here . . . but for us regular joe's out here just a little to expensive for us, went onto the Serek website and was the price . . . . wow (might be worth the money for some) but just a little to much for me . . .
Damn that's one sweet looking and sounding bass, I know several people that would love to have it. just not me and my bear claws. 😁😁 😁😁😁 I would still have to play the hell out of it given the opportunity. 😜😜😜
Loved the interview with Serek and this Midwestern model sounds killer. Great playing as always Low end!
Thanks Richard!

Thanks Alexander :)
That’s a Christmas Day smile I see on your face! Made my day too. I’ve lusted for a Serek since he started doing short 5’s.
:) the 5'ers i've seen are siiiick. Hoping to check out more in the future
Very nice! excited for a full review!
Thanks Jeremy!
Yeah 💪🏿😎
Can't wait for the full review 😍
Thanks Ej!
Alright Lobster. I'm in the market for an inexpensive bass, so you've got yourself a new subscriber.
Welcome aboard! This Serek is not inexpensive, but I have reviewed (and will be reviewing) a lot of more affordable instruments. Stay tuned :)
I love watching unboxings soo much!!! I got a 2020 stingray should be paid off next month, can't wait to unbox her!
Sweet! Congrats :)
Sounds great looking forward to the full review
Thanks Bhunt!
It's like a bass version of an epiphone coronet
Fr man I'd play the heck out of it for the looks alone.
Indeed! That's what Jake was going for with this design and he NAILED it.

Congrats Dave! Glad you found my review on that helpful - enjoy the bass!

Thanks Patrick!
I think I've never seen you this excited lol, great video and bass
Thank you!
Everyone always likes the tone of Serek Basses. I like everything about this Bass.
Thanks Pwo! I agree, a very well thought out and designed instrument with a lot of character
I am looking forward to covid being over so I can make the trip to Chicago and Serek to check out his basses.
You and me both! We definitely have some on location stuff planned once it's safe to do so
Knew you would love it! He loves old school basses and models each of his on one of the famous ones. Thinking EBO for that one,
Thanks Alan! It really is neat and has so much character
Nice looking bass and great sound too👍👍👍
And love ur T shirt😁
Thank you!
that wood looks superb
thanks froge!
Love this bass. I think "family man" Barrett would love it too. It just oozes reggae thump. Especially for what looks like a short scale bass. Your video on this is just a blast to watch!
Thank you Chris :)
One of my dream basses...wow!
:)
This is a very nice bass, looking forward to your review. Should I ever get the chance, I'd love to buy one of their "the Grand" basses!
Thanks Ryan!
Wow that sounds nice!
Thank you!
Woah!!!! Stunning!!!!
Thanks Jeremy!
Sounding great, Lobster. Loved your interview with Serek too! Now I’m wondering if I can an armitage in short scale with this pickup ;-)
Just email Jake. Very affable and customer friendly. If he can, he will !
Thanks Greg! I bet Jake could make it happen
@@LowEndLobster Thanks Lobster! Wow, this is a blues machine!
Scaling up a guitar into a bass while still retaining the classic coronet look and good balance is an impressive feat
Right?! He nailed it here
I'm going to start calling the slide from the minor 3rd to major 3rd, then hitting the root on 1: The Lobster Lick.
Another great vid, not enough Serek demos. Would love to see a Sacramento with TV Jones Thunder'trons vs Rickenbacker shootout.
Hehe thanks Brett!
Brilliant tone from the word go!! Would sit well in a mix without any trouble🔥
Thanks Jermaine! I agree
Sounds great! Looks to me to be inspired by the old Gibson EB series basses.
Thanks Michael! I believe this particular one is basically a bass version of an old Epiphone body shape - the Coronet.
It's like a EB O with a good pickup :)
When I was playing this, I kept thinking 'man, if Gibson actually made basses for bassists... this would be it".
Looks like my kinda Basss... Nice one Serek and Lobster 🦞... 💙👊😎
Thanks :)
A P90 on a bass? Yess!
YES! It's glorious
Just out of curiosity have you had any experience with spector coda pro basses been eyeballing one but there's barely any info on them other than spec's
I personally have not, they look be a nice active J though.
Wow is right. The design reminds me of my old Epiphone Coronet with the butterfly pickguard. This thing is beeeautiful. Now I'm feeling thoughts of regret for getting rid of that Coronet. Honestly, that bass looks just like it.
What a unique bass I like it. But starting price at $2100 for a 4 string. I can get some pretty iconic basses for that.
i think that was a used one for $2100. Very pricey. Sounds great....looks, not great....great video....as meatloaf says
Thanks Ross!

Thanks Mark! It's based off a classic Epiphone design, the Coronet.
Bass has nice dynamics.
Thanks Ralph!
Awesome! I believe this bass is short-scale (30.5").
Thanks Sam! Indeed! Trying to dig up the spec sheet so I can post in the description. Will def have them listed in the full review.
@@LowEndLobster Cool! I am jonesing for a short-scale bass and hoping I don’t end up dropping two grand on the EBMM StingRay.
I love bass
Bass loves you!
Neat bass. Reminds me of the Gibson Les Paul Jr that i briefly owned (should have kept) one hb with pull switch on a medium scale hog body. I just emailed them to see if they might be willing to sell just the pickup itself....
Thank you! We actually have a pickup coming for my Lp jr. In this config! Will be doing a vid on that very soon!
0:00 I left a video on the Talk with Jake - I can't comment but I've seen one of these played bit and gotta commend bro on his pickup work.
also I saw one for sale for about 1100 USD but it flew away, wasn't there an hour later.
3:40 good job remember to flash the back - that thing is BEAUTIFUL in the back.

I know it’s wrong to wolf whistle but it’s allowed for a bass right?
LOL
I like the looks of Sereks'.That kinda looks like an Embassy.
Thanks Kev!
A little tease on Valentines Day.... sounds about right...
:)
Is it short scale? It has a fat but still bright tone.
Yeah! 30" and definitely does not sound like it at all
Ohhhhhh you have GOT to put some flats on this
I got the flats ready! The full review will be comprehensive :)
Sounds good. I like that B90 Pup. Not a fan of the Midwestern shape though. I like the Midwestern 2, Lincoln, and Sacramento shapes better.
Thanks Travatron! We have a special B90 video coming later this week
Someone needs to make Lobster a 3D Printed claw that's sharp for these unboxing vids.
Switchclaw!
LOL
That bass and that shirt...yes and yes
Thanks BCC :)
Oh. Yeah.
:)
Man, I hate the body shape but other than that, it is a stunning bass. The woods, the pickup, headstock - they all look gorgeous
Thanks! It's definitely a polarizing design, I dig it :)
very nice looking, and I'm sure a great bass to play & here . . . but for us regular joe's out here just a little to expensive for us, went onto the Serek website and was the price . . . . wow (might be worth the money for some) but just a little to much for me . . .
Thanks Dave! We have something coming very soon to bring that Serek tone to a bass near you without the price tag :)
Im wanting a Gibson G3. Been wondering if they could build me a bass with that pickup configuration.
I bet it could happen :)
sorry for the miss spelling . . . . should have been . . . .you get such a great bass for $500 . . . and you really do
No Worries! I appreciate the comments :)
Is it 34 scale? It looks like 32
30" scale, should have mentioned - sorry :)
@@LowEndLobster well, i knew it would sound great when I saw it's pickup location~ that place where a bass actually sounds like a bass.
That sure slaps well for a 30" bass.
Indeed!
Put on a flatwound set, and you're in tone heaven.
Indeed! I think I'll do the regular review with the strings that are on here, but will DEFINITELY do a flats vid.
Do I spy a Ripper/Grabber sitting behind you on that guitar rack?
Aye, an Epiphone one no less!
It sounds really nice, is it a tiny base or you just a tall guy
Thank you! Both, it's a 30" short scale and I'm about 6'2" :)
@@LowEndLobster so yes and yes 😂
This bass makes me feel like sitting on an armchair with a glass of whiskey and a cigar
:)
That's a gorgeous bass. It's screaming out for a set of flat wounds
Thanks John! We have flats on the ready :)
You have cool friends. Tell Jake he can send me one too.
Hehe thanks Everett!
Damn that's one sweet looking and sounding bass, I know several people that would love to have it. just not me and my bear claws. 😁😁 😁😁😁 I would still have to play the hell out of it given the opportunity. 😜😜😜
Thanks Jason!
Leaping Lizards, that bass should sound good! Just looked up price, should mama have her operation or I buy one?
Ma get her operation and the guilt her to buy you one when she gets better.
How's ma's life insurance ;P
Cute bass, sounds like a beastly p bass
Thanks Ryan!
sereks are weird as hell but they look so sick
Thank you! I agree, I love weird haha
Yo... That thing is sexy.... I like the imperfection on the back... Makes it look earthy
Thanks! Right? I like the 'stone that the builder refused' mentality, gives the bass a lot of character
Oh punaise !!! qu'est-ce que c'est laid !!!
:)
You lucky son of a crustacean. Oh my fecking lack of god. That’s a super duper bass, it’s so tiny and sounds so big.
Thanks Tommy! We got some more cool Serek stuff coming :)
