Jack, you just set the bar to a new height on your 'Made in Chicago' series, a bar so high, that only you could surpass. All the respect you show at every step of the way... and so many steps. ...in doing so you've earned a new level of Respect. Beautiful camera angles, with just the right lighting and tempo, capturing the true essence, rhythm and TLC of artisan craftsmanship. Respect.
Chicago has long history in guitar making. National. Supro, Harmony, Kay and Silvertone. Chicago made millions and millions of guitars and exported them all over the world.
oh god. these are simply incredible. i don't think i can holdout. got it so freakin bad for a midwestern 2. the huge problem now is red with black or black with tort. he nailed that red. that color screams vintage stability. that color is perfect.
You're really not supposed to super glue the string nut into place so I've been told. It will rip out chunks of wood with it if you ever need to take it off again. Elmer's glue works just fine. Bass looks great! Nice job!
This is true to a certain extent, however, I only use 2 small drops placed in a spot where there is little chance for chip out down the line. Worked at a repair shop for a couple years and learned that lesson quick!
Serek Basses Right on! I like how you filled in the gaps between the fingerboard and the fret wire after you installed them. Was that just wood glue and saw dust?
Serek Basses Nice! I've got an old ESP laying around that I've wanted to covert to a fretless. That tip will certainly come in handy! Thanks and best of luck with your basses! Cheers.
the editing is just outstanding. love how it matches the music!
did anyone else find this video super relaxing to watch?
Beautiful woodwork

A picture of Chris Squire by the work bench for inspiration... Nice... And, you build great sounding basses to boot!

DaedalusVer2 yep, exactly! ends up a little darker than the actual fingerboard, but it's a pretty good match!

snagged that bass, should be here in a couple of days :-)
Chicago Aussie I know, right?!???
Wow, that was really amazing haha
I bet that guy has trouble spellin', though.
seems very labor intensive... they need to automate manufacture on a production line
save a heap of money on wages for error prone humans
Not sure why I would respond to a 5 year old comment, but I just needed to say "you clearly don't get it".
@@scottdionne333 they would manufacture it in a factory, then tell you it was hand made and you would not know the difference...
its all in your head
