Another Fast & Furious Car...1650 hp Tantrum Charger from Speedkore
Вставка
- Опубліковано 22 січ 2018
- This car is insane!!! My friends at Speedkore are storing their 1970 Charger known as Tantrum with me again but this time it’s just a short visit. Gabes Interior will be showing the car in their booth this weekend at the Grand National Roadster Show and I was asked by Speedkore to drive the car fairly hard since it has barely been driven. The instruction was to get it up to running temp then hit it around 4k-5k rpm’s to clear out condensation and oil build up in the turbos. Yes turbos. Tantrum is powered by a 9.0 Mercury Racing motor with twin .94 mil turbos! It makes 1350 hp on pump gas and 1650 hp when running race fuel.
Come hang with me for while as I walk through the details of Tantrum and you definitely don’t want to miss the drive. Burnouts at 70 mph at only 4500 rpm’s!

"built to drive" "its been sitting for three years" makes me upset like if you're going to spend so much money on a car and you're afraid to drive it you shouldn't of built the car
They built it as a promo piece and I completely agree. I think cars should be driven no matter what it is. Leno drives all of his vehicles regardless of value.
Man, you say it wasnt built to be a trailer queen but yet it is- I mean yea its cool and I love mopars but hell ,its just a show car. Although its got some good horsepower ,thats not the issue-look at some of Tom Nelsons cars, you can go out and beat on 'em happily. I think with the paint and interior it makes it a chore to even get near it-oh,and obviously it was expensive to build but throwing numbers out there like that is tacky-who cares
I'd daily drive the hell out of this thing! Gas would be crazy but still...
They built it for people who have enough 🌕🌕 to get it 😁
Fucken A dude, or build it and give it away
Now Vin Diesel owns Tantrum as it was a birthday gift from the fast 9 crew. 💨💨💨💨💨💨💨
Crazy! This is such an intense car
Did they ever build any more Tantrum’s?
Because there’s a local super car owner who has a real Tantrum... parks it with his 70+ other super cars at his house from time to tim...
and I’m wondering if it’s this same car or if they built more.
Because it’s real, I’ve seen every square inch of it and it’s just like this car.
@@TRUdetailing this is a one of a kinda car so the one you saw is more then likely a replica unless vin diesel sold his.
@@riptcv999 promise it’s this car. Lol. It’s the same car, I’ve seen it up close again since this comment. He probably sold it. I know the guy who has it paid $600+k for it.
It’s got the TT marine engine.
The speedkore Evolution looks like the same exact car except it has a demon engine.
That’s not his either I’ve seen it with my own 2 eyes.
Trust me this guy has over $10 million in supercars ( 85 to be exact ), multiple planes and million dollar homes in FL KY MN.
He owns a ponzi scheme called Prüvit. Look it up.
Trust me he lives down the street snd Ive worked on multiple vehicles for him.
However he isn’t a client of mine anymore, I fired him for being a cheap ass (go figure) didn’t want to pay anyone a proper amount for the work he wanted on his cars. (Vinyl PPF detailing etc) I didn’t know he had this car until after I was done dealing with him or I would’ve asked him personally about it
Perfect for Vin lol he is going to make last for 100 years
one of the best sounding v8s ever heard
No question. Very unique tone.
Agree,sounds wicked 👍
@@chrise3801 the sound is unbelievable...love it
Mercury boat engine . w turbos
@@Carlos-yr6de in the boat the sound OMFG, you can hear turbos in the speed boats man its pure cum, i can only imagine in car with with that straight exhaust..jesus
By far the most customized, most powerful, best looking I've ever seen. This is one bad ass CHARGER, the best!!!!!
Respect from england.you guys are awesome,Nothing ever made by any country in the world can touch pure American muscle, you can keep your Bentleys, lambos, ferraris, bmw. When these beasts hit the streets people just stop and stare, keep up the good work lads.
Thanks! I don’t build em but I sure appreciate the Speedkore guys and other builders that are on par with them.
Man these guys are always building beautiful rides!
Yes they are. Speedkore delivers over and over with their vehicles. And they're really cool people. I love my job!
i only dont like the rims. those cars need big muscle car tires.
Awesome video man. The attention to the details in this car is on another level, what an amazing build. That's why I love watching this channel, you just don't get to see something like that almost anywhere else. Can't wait to see the video with that Roadrunner. Keep up
Thanks Nik. You know I appreciate your feedback and support of the channel. The details on Tantrum are incredible and then to drive it is otherworldly. So much power but controlled. The Roadrunner is getting some fine tuning done then we'll shoot it. And we're going to keep taking your advice and do another shoot with Vicious and give you guys all the details of that one and there's a lot!
when I heard this thing in F9, I fell in love with that beast B)
Holy F#$K that exhaust note!
I know!!
Yeah at the end I had the biggest smile on my face :')
Gave me goosebumps!
I watch each episode at least 4-5 times. The best car channel on UA-cam,no doubt!
Wow!! Thanks so much Heikki!! I appreciate the support and I'm glad you're enjoying the channel. Every Tuesday and Friday we've got something new. You just made my night!!
One of the finest examples of American craftsmanship ever displayed
That is one gorgeous car. The lines and the interior are beyond description. The engine sound is power, and the engine and engine bay are engineering artwork.
Great work Shawn! Love the detail explanations! Highlight of the video when you can see Chris giving it a thumbs up!! Haha keep on filming you guys. Great work!
Thanks Sean! I love that Chris made a cameo from the Yukon. Perfect and not planned. I've heard a few comments on details so I'm gonna keep laying them out there. The cars I have the opportunity to store, care for and often times drive deserve a few extra minutes for details. I really appreciate your support and feedback. Thanks Sean.
Oh my that car is beautiful 😍
Couldn't agree more. I've had the pleasure of keeping this car in my facility and have driven it a few times and it's amazing. The execution of the original design is flawless. The carbon work. The crazy Mercury Racing motor...just an insane big dollar one off custom. Love!!
I think it’s a little more then that 😂
Stunning. The lines on that car are perfect. All the details inside and out - just amazing!
Wonderful build that drives incredibly hard!
There was a big smile on my face the whole time you were driving it. That car is amazing
One of your best episodes bro, well done 👊💯🇺🇸💪!!
Thanks Chris! I like your cameo appearance with Manny in the Yukon. This car made it easy to create a kick ass episode!
By far my favorite high dollar pro touring build. Love that the body lines haven't been altered
Good eye Devon. One of my favorite things about Tantrum is how far out they went with mods and fab work without losing the Charger. They actually made it more attractive with their approach. I'm pretty deep in the pro touring/resto mod world so I promise I'll keep bringing cars on this level. We're just getting started with this channel. Thanks for your support and I'm glad you like it.
AutotopiaLA can't wait to see more! One of the best channels on UA-cam
Thanks Devon! Any help in spreading the word as we're so new would be awesome!!
Smokin Bad Ass Tantrum! Gorgeous lines, outrageous power and super beautiful interior!! Love this car!! 💪❤️👏🇺🇸
This is a fabulous piece of work.
I was nervous on the sofa watching you drive it!!!
I love this show, keep up the good work
From England
Seen that charger on Lenos garage last year and is a beautiful machine. I was surprised that they used a Merc and didn't know that they even made them for automotive applications, I thought that was a really cool and unique touch by the speedcore guys. My first car was a 68 and have owned two of them over the years, so they are pretty special to me and love the Mopars. The pistol grip in that is almost identical to the one that I have in my challenger srt8 and is a gorgeous carbon fiber design
They build great cars. Mercury worked directly with them to show the motor converted for road application. Killer ride!
I have to say I usually see 1 or 2 things that I don't like in cars, but this is perfect.
Look closer, slow the video down if you have to. There were a couple things one would expect not to be incorperated on a six hundred thousand dollar build.
insane cars nobody's got cars like these one after another. These builds are one of a kind love them .This is some of the best content and the ride along is fun. You are setting the bar on you tube keep up the good work brother.
Primo
Watched this video last night and was so disappointed when it started to smoke. Made my night when the owner said it just needed to be cleaned out and you got to drive it. Pure awesomeness!!!!
Great episode great review. Keep up the great work shawn
Thanks Ross!! This was such a blast to shoot. Was nervous about all the smoke but did what the builder said, had a blast doing it and in the end the beast was done smoking. But I needed a smoke after that drive!!
The sound is spectacular. Great video !
Thanks Boss!! And if you heard this thing in person it's even more intense. I appreciate your support of what we're doing here. Our goal is to have this grow into one of the bigger and hopefully better automotive channels out there.
AutotopiaLA Im sure you will achieve that goal in future :)
I missed this one charger is a wicked car .i had one back in the day can never get bored of the shape ..keep safe guys
Love it. No one is on your level bro. Amazing cars the attention to detail is unreal. Keep it up.
MY MIND WAS YELLING: DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!😁 Great video and speedy recovery
Yeah, you saw what happens when you get on it...beast mode engaged
From all the smoke it looks like they have drove it like they stole it!
Where has this dude been?? I just found it!!! Love the cars, and your respect for them.
Bro... this entire channel is badass... From Havoc to Tantrum to Vicious to god knows what... a ton of good ol' badassery
We used to manufacture a version of our truck engine for Mercury Marine all the way back in 1999. It was the 7.3L V8 Powerstroke and was built right alongside the normal engine that went to Ford. It did have a different cam and injectors though.
Cool info. Thanks for sharing with us all 👊
Absolutely perfect car, like actually perfect that is just crazy! I love Hemis but I'm sure this motor isn't below a Hemi at all
This is a staggering build for sure and I like Hemi’s too but this Mercury Racing motor is a monster
Awesome car and video 👍💪
Thanks Lars. The Speedkore guys build exceptional cars and they do it consistently. We've done a few episodes with their cars including Robert Downey Jr's beautiful '70 Boss 302, their '67 Camaro, etc. Thanks for supporting the channel. I really appreciate it.
The interior is so simple, I love it
Thank god he kept it on the road that much power can go from Awsome to sideways real fast. Great built I'm very impressed with the fabrication on the front clip.
So sick!
Thanks. That car is amazing. Every Tuesday & Friday is a new episode and we're just getting started. It'll be hard to top Tantrum but I'll bet we can match it.
Great video
Another beautiful muscle car
Exceptional !!
Thanks Denis. The Speedkore guys are about as good as it gets. From design to execution they get it. Glad you liked this one. It was a blast to make it.
Thanks to you for sharing these great experiences in super cars
Your welcome Denis. Believe me when I tell you I'm having a blast making this content. It's a ton of work but look at the cars I get to drive. Had to share it with someone other than the people on the freeway or canyons that probably don't appreciate the work of art that blew by them.
Thanks Denis. It really is a stunning vehicle with incredible power and drivability. So fun driving this thing at 5,000 rpm's. Would love to have more road to see what redline is like!
Man have to admit you got me day dreaming with this state of the art built charger! What a stunning example of true american muscle. 💪👍
I understand bro
Just discovered your work this week. LOVE IT!
I'd be happy with 700-850 hp. Then again I couldn't afford a car like this to begin with. My scat pack is fun as hell being stock and with the tiny rear wheels it's damn near impossible to hook. This beast at 1650 seems even more impossible to drive being that it just wants to rip the tires off.
You can’t stand on it until it hooks. It does run a 345 rear but it’s a ton of power. For me, I like 500-800 hp for the type of driving I do. Not a straight line guy. I like brakes and turns.
who else notice the suv following them 😂
FBI!!!!
Jeremy Wilson that’s not a camera crew. They’re random guys who were taking pics of the car.
😆
Keep up the good work brother I like the channel and I hope you keep it going show us some of those wonderful cars that are out there and remember one thing always be humble you're a good man stay humble just like you are awesome videos keep them coming thank you brother.
Pure motivation right there and this is my first time watching your channel and I'm already motivated to go start working on my project honda I love the car and all the details that are in it keep up the good work and keep them coming.
Awesome! Glad you took inspiration from the build and our showing it. What's the Honda you're building? Thanks for supporting the channel and glad you found us.
It's a 95 2dr civic coupe with a lsv-tech with a 06 acura rsx 5-speed automatic transmission it's always good to plan ahead for things like this because when I do start on it I've already know what to do.
Absolutely works to have a plan. Sounds like it's going to be a cool car when you get it done. Show me pics and vid when it's up and running.
Love everything about it, but the sound DAAAAAAMN, thats what makes it perfect.
The sound is incredible and the power is insane!
$650000 car....insane, beautiful!
It’s even better in person
Mopar or NO CAR
UGH can't get enough of it
Yeah man! This car is insane. The Speedkore guys build some amazing cars for sure.
IM IN LUUUUUUUUUUUUVVVVVVVV OMG MAN. Everything about it up to the sound of the V8 and exhaust is amazing. Straight monster.
It’s a killer build and will be seen in Fast & Furious 8 whenever it comes out
I enjoyed this video a lot, thank you so much. Tantrum is one heck of a Charger.
I see why it's called tantrum because it throws one every time you shift
Lol!!
this
8:41 looks like a place in GTA V LOL
SICK! Stunning, drooling... Great video, great presentation!
First time tuning in your channel and I sub as soon as you started giving us details and good feed back about the car 👍
Thanks for the sub! Glad you like what we're doing here. I try to give as many details as possible without getting too boring. Plenty more to show you guys.
Lord Im in !!!!!!
You and me both! The Tantrum Charger is just unreal and I might be the luckiest guy in the world to get to drive it!! Thanks for supporting our channel. I really appreciate it.
Speedkore nailed this build. is it still for sale at Fusion in LA?
They really did. Not at Fusion anymore. It’s back in Wisconsin at Speedkore for now.
Auto Fanatic no gut know glower
Now that is a beautiful build. Lots of skill demonstrated here.
That’s the Speedkore guys for ya
GORGEOUS RIDE!! Unbelievable.... great video
Thank you and I agree. Stunning car with tons of power.
Shawn, I saw a brief glimpse of an older Audi in the background maybe a b5 generation or c5 (early 2000s I'd say). Is it modified? Anything special about it? Any other Audis kept there?
LOL! No. One of my clients has a couple of cool cars and for some reason has a sentimental attachment to that Audi. It's been salvaged. I have a body shop do a bunch of work on it and it's about to be his grocery store car. I've tried to talk him into selling it or donating it but he's not letting it go until it dies completely!
As an Audi man, I get the attachment
I like Audi as well but once they're completely beat I'd say it's time to let it go. But I'm that way with any car unless I think it's worth the time, energy and money to bring it back. Gotta love our crazy car life!!
They dropped a Charger body shell, on top of a saturn 5 rocket...
Lol!! Best comment yet
thanks for sharing the finest legendary fashioned cars upgraded into todays presence.
Amazing! Beautiful design. Beautifully executed! Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome. Glad you enjoyed it.
Ya maybe it wasn't built to be drive lightly, but it sure has been with only 500 miles on it in three years 😂what a shame
Agreed. I think they’re built to be driven.
Dude seriously how the fuck dont you have more subs. Kids uploading stupid shit get more, you deserve 1 million subs
Thanks bro! We're working on it. I'd probably have more subs if we did donuts in the middle of the freeway or maybe crashed some Mustangs into a crowd of people but we're trying to make a true automotive enthusiast channel for true passionate enthusiasts. Thanks for the support and help spread the word!
One of the most badass Platforms for a muscle car...and the Sound! What a glorious noise!
It makes such a unique tone. Love it!
Wow! Insane indeed. The bodywork is incredible as is the motor and interior. Lucky you man! Those are huge meats and it must have been terrifying to break them loose at speed. You just never know how it will behave and you'd be mud if you did any damage to it. Played it smart man!
the car was designed to driven hard.... But NO WAY IN HELL are we going to actually DRIVE IT the way it was intended.... what a wast of time and money... TRAILER QUEEN
I'm with you. Not a fan of keeping them down. Glad I got to hammer it a bit but never went over 5000 rpm's. Shifting around 4500 rpm's you get a kick, burnout then it squats and goes. I try showing cars that can be driven but unfortunately not all of them get to be.
yeah I could tell you wonted to unleash it too..great review thoufh
Yes I did and thanks. I get put in the position constantly of having to show restraint with cars I want to pound on hard!
AutotopiaLA i feel the same way with women 😂😎
Ron Branum I would ride the hell out her in an empty industrial area ✋👌
Great video beautiful looking car but seems twitchy and unable to put the power down not a good thing. There are people lately that are saying 850hp is the max a rear wheel car can put to the tarmac anymore wasted
This one is a lot of power for sure. Around 4,000 rpms you get a spin but a slight lift and it squats then goes. And I agree on power with the 850hp thought. My stock ZL1 is 650hp at the crank and is more than enough power to have a great time.
Every single drag guy here will discredit you on that claim
Wrong, heres a street legal Viper running 6 second quarter miles. This same guy also has the 1/2 mile record for a rwd car
ua-cam.com/video/UtT16xjn-Nw/v-deo.html
Now that i think about it, there isnt a single all wheel drive car that can beat sals street legal viper, (int the quarter mile) and sals viper isnt the fastest street legal quater mile either.
That's a fucking lie i have 1,954 horse power in my 85 grand-national postive rear end 400 turbo transmission😏
Wonderful car!! Love that grizzly howl of the exhaust!
Awesomeness as usual never disappointed watching your video's great job man👍🏾.
Wow! Thank you. I really appreciate the support for what we're doing with the channel. Lot's more to come I promise.
I dont see $600,000 sorry.
Hood pins really on "600k"
Someone has too much $$
Consider a full carbon fiber front end. One off custom parts that start in design go to 3D then CAD to produce. It’s typical in the world of high end one off customs. I see $500K cars everyday of the week.
Clearly you've never built a car...
Making a mortgage payment for a car... Rediculous!!
Good kind of ridiculous for the guys that can afford it though. And for the guys like me that can't, I'm really glad they spend it and there's builders/designers/fabricators that build em cause I'm a big fan of one off custom vehicles personally.
Guys with that kind of money don’t make payments, they drop cash
That is just amazing in every detail. Also gained a new sub with your genuine love for this stuff.
Thanks! Yeah, the Speedkore guys build some incredible vehicles for sure!!
Just subscribed recently VERY impressed with your videos i expect this channel to blow up man keep up the awesome content absolutely LOVE these expensive resto mod muscle cars
Thanks David! We're still really new so lots of learning every time we shoot and edit. I appreciate the support. We try to show everything but I'm most passionate about well done resto mod/pro-touring cars. I promise every Tuesday and Friday we'll keep putting up new videos.
Amazing in every possible respect.
That car is awesome, the guys have done a fantastic job
Awesome ride
Rarely a Charger is so cool when modified
Great job
Thank you for showing it
You're welcome and glad you like it. The Speedkore guys build really exceptional cars and this Charger is incredible!
How he handled when the car started to smoke, got me to subscribe. 💯👍🏾
Very good presentation of the car Shawn. Thanks for the video man!!!
Glad you enjoyed it. It’s such an amazing build!
9.0 L V8 Twinturbo Beautiful Work
Total monster to drive and the fit and finish and design is stunning
I came here from Sam's Seen Through Glass channel. I love late 60's American resto mods! Looks like you have some cool toys to play with!
Glad you came over to check us out! Pretty much my favorite vehicles are 60's and early 70's restomod/pro-touring cars. It's what hits my passion button the hardest. I'm lucky that my business allows me to work with some of the best builders in the game. Tons more to come.
I love the cars you display on your videos true fan
UNBELIEVABLE......just listen to the power 💪💪💪
Love your job. Thats rolling art..
Great video. You gave a good test drive and very detailed description.
Thanks for being safe for such a beautiful car man you don't have a lot of people that can show restraint with that much of a car
Thanks for understanding. Some people suggest I’m being a “pussy” but the truth is I’m being respectful. That’s why people let me drive their big$$ cars. I appreciate you getting the level of restraint required. Probably why I have that big vein popping on my right temple!!
sounds incredible
this car is sick 🤩 just wow 😲 absolutely gorgeous👏👏👏
This is freaking fantastic
The fact that it is a stick seals the deal. Fantastic car.
Amazing car ! What a monster
I really enjoyed your video! Keep it up! Big fan of the movies and nice to learn about the this car!
Thanks and I promise I will keep it up. And me too on the movies and on this car. Big Fan!!
It's AMAZING that you can have much horsepower (1350hp) and can be driven on the streets! When I was a youngster, you could barely have 700hp,if that much!My first HEMI was a 1968 GTX and YES I'm pretty old(75yrs old)!!!I'd like to see more of these work@
Too much power imo. Even 700 whp on the streets is overkill. But it’ll spin tires effortlessly
You must be really in a dream when you drive this car! Fabulous
It’s amazing! Lucky to have been asked by the builders to blow out all the crap!
Awesome car, I believe that I have seen this engine in some cigarette boats before. I am glad for you that you were the one that got to test it. Keep it up, love your videos
Thanks Peter and I’m glad I got to put my foot in it a little. Amazing build!
Only in the U.S.A. tastefully done. Immitated ...inspirational ...I ♡'d it.
love your shows brother ! Tantrum is BadAss !
Thank you…I love this car! What a ride
One of the best of all time
I was smiling the entire time when you were driving it.... *SALUTE*
Nice nice nice cant say it enough kept them coming...
Sounds beautiful
Alan Perucki and even better in person
best episode and car ever.
Thanks and I agree...such an incredible build!
