      It's fair enough I guess... You're getting a better than factory new chassis done by the greatest GTR workshop, it's second to none. The Nissan Omari factory CRS upgrade cost about double the price (with new engine, new underbody components) but they don't restore the chassis to this level.

      There's a reason why many of these car shops are in the countryside, parking is free and plenty if space .property and buildings are much cheaper than in the cities
      The best way to live in Japan is in the rural areas, housing is far cheaper, plots of land are bigger meaning more parking space . In Japan you can easily own a car but you must have the space to park it. City living means that renting a carpark is the only option since most people live in apartment buildings. Parking can be anywhere from 100-300k yen a year.
      I live about 1 hr from Osaka, my home is 440m2 and the mortgage is less that renting a 3ldk in Osaka. Yes I'm perfectly fine to commute each day, even with the added cost of fuel it's far cheaper than living in Osaka. Traffic is light parking is free and easy. Just of note I own 4 cars in Japan.
      If you do your own shaken have plenty of free parking spaces, owning a car in Japan isn't expensive

    • @Khemotherapy
      @Khemotherapy Місяць тому +1

      Wait till you see Singapore. Before you buy the car, you have to buy the rights to own a car. And this rights costs almost 80,000 USD for up to 1,600 CC/130bhp and 88,000 USD for anything above those 2 specifications.
      And after that, there’s “Additional Registration Fee”, which is a tax on the car’s value.
      100% on the first 15,300 USD, then 140% for 15,301 USD to 30,600 USD, then 190% for 30,601 USD to 46,000 USD. There’s 2 more steps that goes up to 320% tax for anything above 61,000 USD in value.
      Also petrol prices here is ridiculous. 2.21 USD per litre for RON 95.
      It’s much more depressing here.

Loads of people claim their cars are stripped down and "rebuilt" from the ground up but all thats done is just de-rusted with fresh paint while the chassis is clamped on a dolly.

    I've been following your videos with Mr. Yoshida. You fully deserve this rebuild to your car, I've smiled throughout knowing how much you appreciate all of the hard work. Fantastic car and people around this project. I would highly recommend you get the front end of the car PPF'D and install a ceramic coating to the paintwork as this will protect from fading from the sun's UV. Armour detail supplies 'Armour Quartz coating'. 👍

    Thank you for bringing us on this journey Larry. The price tag is well worth it and the 4 month lead time is remarkable. Congratulations and I hope it makes it across the ocean safely.

    As much I don’t like the style of Skylines as to me, it looks like a beefed up maxima, The attention to detail of the restoration and the paint is perfect! Mr. Yoshida does an awesome job.

    What a beauty! BUT I think the best thing you could have done for your car is the WPC treatment!!! You will be thankful you did for many many years! Also, I would recommend, if you guys didn't already do it, change all the coolant on non-water base one, it will make everything last way longer.

    Such a Larry move to let Yoshida drive it FIRST just to get epic photos! I like it as is. Doesn't need to be crazy HP motor. Let it live as it once was!👍
