Day 1 again for me tomorrow 🙄three-day chocolate binge after a family party on Sunday 😠 I'm off to listen to Mitch and his "The PAINFUL TRUTH of CARNIVORE......again
What a great topic! I can't speak from experience because my journey started at Keto and moved through the scale all the way to Carnivore. But I've heard others saying they had regrets after straying from their optimal way of eating because all the old pain and inflammation returned. I see it as part of the education. Some people need the reminder lesson. • The benefits I’ve enjoyed since abandoning the Standard American Diet (SAD) and adopting Keto (Jan 2020) and then changing to the Carnivore way of eating (June 2023 and not going back) (in no particular order): Excess weight gone, improved sleep, mental clarity, arthritis gone, able to remember why I went into another room, spider veins disappeared (I only had a few), sun and stove burns don’t hurt and are gone the next day, hardly any plaque and no bleeding gums at the dentist, rosacea gone, acne gone, mood improvement, cravings gone, ankle swelling gone, cracked heels gone, and I never feel “hangry”
I keep falling off the wagon but just get back on track, it helps I don't count days, it's a journey for me. We're up against it, temptations everywhere, we're in a game of Snakes and Ladders, up and down we go!
Some fasting also helps you get over the cravings. I really see now it's just carb addiction that drives people's eating. Especially obvious if you have some junk food after a fast. The people who do the super low cal stuff are always frail and wind up with dementia like poor dr. mc dougal.
I had been keto, carnivore for a few months before I realized what you are talking about. That I could just get up and go on errands and not bring a snack with me, or worry about when I should eat. Before running the errands and get the timing just perfect. On carnivore I don't have those cravings and fears of food timing and planning. I routinely don't eat until 2-3 in the afternoon. I now know that I can grab the dogs and go for a hike, and I might get hungry, but it will be mild, and I know my body will continue to work for me without a snack. There's a more baseline level of calm energy.
Two years ago, my son did a summer holiday working for Burger King here in Pori. He used to take some of the leftover food home at the end of the shift, so I have actually eaten BK burger patties - at the time, I remember thinking that they tasted weird, artifical & chemically. Yes, I think that they are made to be addictive, Nick.
Great video. I have had many day ones since first trying to start the carnivore way of eating earlier this year. Now I’m just binging your content to try and keep myself motivated and accountable. Thanks for consistently putting out these videos to help those of us who aren’t perfect.
Hi Sarah. My first diet was in April 1983 at the age of 17. I did the 5:2 diet before it was invented. I had a very strong Why? As a 14 stone fat, hormonal teenager I simply wasn't "getting any". I quickly dropped to 12 stone and my particular problem got fixed in July 1983. The army kept me in adonis mode until 1989. Then I got fat. I've yoyoed ever since going into terminal decline from 40 onwards. On March 1st 2022 I weighed in at 21 stone. Then along came keto then carnivore. On December 1st 2023 I weighed in at 13 stone 10lbs. My body has now decided that my weight should be 14 stone 4lb with a 37" waist. My trousers are 38" but I need a belt. I remain clinically obese. But my correct BMI of 12 stone was last seen in 1983. 3 shoe sizes ago.
Talking about "getting some", my 18 year old son and ALL of his friends don't seem to be that concerned that they are not obsessed with girls. It worries me. I have got it in my head that one of the Government recommended injections that they have taken have reduced urges. It is really worrying me, so please don't laugh. 😕
@@HealthyCarnivoreUK I am with you on this. My friend mentioned this as well. These kids don't even want to get busy with each other. They are trying to destroy our sexuality along with everything else. Or flip it ... 👀
@HealthyCarnivoreUK Absolutely not a laughing matter. Remember the anti-meat theology is based upon Ellen G White and Kellogg, who wanted to stop sinful urges with a vegan diet. I had the anthrax injection in the 1st Gulf War and my 1st marriage ended when despite vigorous efforts in the mixed doubles, bedroom olympics department, she failed to conceive and whilst I was studying abroad she did succeed in her goal 🤔 I am very suspicious of all pharmaceutical interventions.
Thank you for another really good one! There were lots , probably hundreds, "Day 1" for me, especially when I was quitting caffeine - so far the hardest thing I have even done! Even sugar was much easier to be honest. Have you stopped your tea yet ? Hugs!
@@tatsianabishophudymenka7955 I stopped black tea and swapped it for Green Rooibos. Caffeine free, tannin free and very very low in oxalates. No sweet taste. Not much taste at all to be honest. 😅😅 Planning to keep going with that for now.
Day 3 for me today. Was really grumpy and snappy last night and this morning. I can’t remember anyone speaking about that, I’m sure someone must have. It’s not because I’m hungry, haven’t felt hungry at all 🤷🏻♀️ guess it’s part of the carb withdrawal
@@HealthyCarnivoreUK Glad to hear it’s normal 😅 I went looking in Tesco for those burgers. The only frozen Tesco finest Aberdeen Angus ones I could find had pea fibre and stabilisers and stuff in them. Did you say they had beef, salt and pepper and nothing else?
@@HealthyCarnivoreUK 😁😁 I was so disappointed, I thought maybe it was my Tesco that didn’t stock them! If you want clean burgers to have in the freezer as a back up, I can confirm that the Iceland 100% beef quarter pounders are beef, salt and black pepper. The big tasty ones (1/3 pounders) are beef, salt and white pepper

@@LTPottenger I find that feasting also helps with cravings 😆😆

Not only is the 'normal' food available and yummy, it's also made to be addictive!
Exactly. It's all about that bliss point 😰

@@nigelwatson2750 Absolutely. It's a major hurdle with weaning ourselves off that stuff, it's literally fighting an addiction
