I think that Ferrari went a little overboard with the minimalism and haptic feedback controls. The only thing I don’t like is how the rear black panel shape is very prominent, but the body color band doesn’t visually connect to the front, so instead of the desired effect being the rear getting pulled to the front, it makes for a rear heavy visual effect like the rear is sliding down and off the car, while anything to the front of the rear wheel is separately lifting up. Other than that it’s a gorgeous design, especially the coupe which alleviates that graphic issue

This may be a controversial opinion, but this looks far better than the 812 superfast. The 812 to me looked a bit fussy from the front and side. Was never a fan of its design. But this is a massive improvement from the 812 design and I love it!
For me the 812 grew on me and this will too but right now this just exemplifies what I didn't vibe with about the 812. The Daytona was never my favourite Ferrari design either so there's that. I am certain it will grow on me regardless but for now.. Yeah.
seeing a redesign like this you're immediately struck with an avalanche of respect for what good taste means when being a designer. You're also faced with an avalanche of disrespect and disgust for the fraud that is Domagoj Dukec who somehow tricked a bunch of people into thinking he should be designing cars instead of being properly mistrusted even when operating a toaster.
I love it. Though I feel they missed an opportunity. When I first saw that front end, I thought they'd made hidden "eyelid" headlights like on the SP3 daytona, but hiding the entire headlight. That would have been awesome.
You forgot to mention that the two hood vents are design cues paying tributes to the Daytona as well. Plus, if you look at the coupe from above, the shape of the rear deck/rear windshield area looks similar to the hood vents, just enlarged, both looking like arrows pointing forward.
They already had the 612 Scaglietti. If they want to honour the original, they would name it the 540 GTB/4 - 540 for the individual cylinder capacity in cubic centimetres, GTB for GT Berlinetta and /4 for 4 cam. The original was the 365 GTB/4 and was never called "Daytona" by the factory.
considering the front looks like a 365 daytona i'd say Toyota copied ferrari first then. the japanese have been copying european design for decades now so it wouldnt suprise me
I really don't dig the dark rear glass. Cuts volume from the back, especially cause it goes all the way down. Gives me a sense of vacancy that I really despise. I would have preferred if it was scaled up so not to end on the edge of the tail. I like the homage to the 365 Daytona on the front though.
I could not agree more. I also went to design school. I have a hard time imagining any car lover with a sense of design, not loving this car. Which makes it that much more shocking to read so many negative comment online about it. Its startling how many people simply fear change, instantly rejecting the unfamiliar without actually taking time to look at it.
@@MrTweaksTV yes i did, it's cool and all but not farrari like , i mean to say its just on your face too much like its trying too hard. With that wing and butterfly doors. I respect subtlety.
As soon as you start talking about touch screens I just loose interest... All the talk about preserving the V12 and heritage and so on is great but how about preserving some tactile controls? The worst thing about modern cars in my opinion is the blind, unquestioning, headfirst stumble into a world of touch screens that don't function well and certainly don't age well no matter how good the design.
Lamborghini is getting worse with the quality they are giving nowadays, if you do not select a carbon fibre package in the interior, you are just getting a plastic component
Like your commentary Bembli. To my eye, the latest 296 GTB is a return to styling form for Ferrari. The Roma too. They manage to blend the right balance of curves with the occasional strong hard lines. The proportions of this 12 cylindri are good, but there are too many fussy hard lines around the front. It already looks a bit dated, not because it's based on the old Daytona, but because of the overworked execution in places. Possibly the long bonnet could have a bit more overall curve /volume to it, it's slightly overwhelmed by the rear haunches. The view of the version shown here ua-cam.com/video/pDEyBeQU-Rg/v-deo.html proves the point of cleaning the front end, as the fussy joins and ports either side of the front wheel are les visible. (Wheels are cleaner in form too: those black and silver machined wheels of the current times, rarely look good in my view: too 'stuck on' 2d flat looking and fussy.)
I’m sorry, but I disagree strongly. This design is bulbous and ungainly and will age poorly, similar to how the 599 GTB has. Design isn’t about individual elements, it’s about the cohesive balance of all elements together.
@@marciomicio The front end is very cluttered, starting with the headlights and the "mustache," which look extremely outdated. They tried to bring back the Daytona's aesthetic but didn't modernize it enough. On top of that, the bumper has grotesque lines and pieces that don't align with the rear, which is smoother and cleaner-except for the license plate area, which has a very sharp angular cutout. Another odd detail is the excessive chamfer on the rear wheel arch and that "bubble" on top of it. Overall, it seems like they couldn't decide whether to go for straight or curved lines, resulting in a poorly executed mix of both styles. If you analyze earlier Ferraris that everyone agrees are beautiful, they focus more on clean lines and curves that flow into each other. In contrast, those made in this Manzoni era are overly exaggerated and lack cohesion. It's not his worst, but it's also not the best Ferrari-if he could even manage that.
"Over my dead body" last time is was said at Ferrari was when the CEO was asked if Ferrari will ever release an SUV. The CEO passed away a few months later.
I don't understand why these new cars aren't using display that has minimum of 120hz, 144hz,boe the daddy 240hz and why stop there instead of the regular LCD or LED let's start using newer display tech like OLED, QD OLED, TANDEM OLED, Micro LED, QD Mini-LED. What a mouth full but still. About time these goddam cars begin using great displays with high FPS.
They properly nailed the proportions with this one. I just miss the twin circular rear lights, round headlights and bright smile that characterized Ferrari at its peak.
I don't like the headlights, which are angular and conflicts with the rest of the car. The silhouette and the lines are gorgeous and just from those, it's the best looking front-engined ferrari. But yeah, the mustache-looking front black panel I don't agree with
i am glad that ferrari is coming back to the classical beauty design language. UA-camrs that want something flashy can get a mclaren or a lambo, ferrari is not a car but also a very special art piece

@@stormrider01 well, I actually think Ferrari has lost their way. Within the last 4 years theve been returning to the purity of their roots. I don't care what anyone says you're wrong, rear diffusers are too heavy and *all* they're front headlights have the wrong symmetry, and the Dlr's are too clunky. The rear tail light's too slim- and *all* Modern cars have this stupid fast/notch slope back! Not nice long boots like the Draytona itself. I studied car design btw so know what I'm talking about.
I could go for some noise regulations here in the US. No one wants to hear you driving down a neighborhood road at night when you're trying to sleep even with having a sound machine.
love it. And this is what I have been saying all along. Make modern versions of old classics - the designs were so much more distinct and fluid. This is going to be successful
I think what Ferrari has done is brilliant. We all love Ferrari/supercars. What sports cars can do is amazing. Not to mention most supercars are absolutely beautiful to look at. That said,, the noise of a supercars engine is,, in most cases ridiculous. not Everyone wants to be obnoxious & rude,, As their cars are screaming down the street. Some people like to be incognito. Not letting the whole neighborhood know that they’re starting their car early in the morning. Or coming home screaming into the driveway late at night. Given that it is mostly drivers of supercars/sports car ,, that appreciate the noise (or for some the beautiful purring symphony ) of a screaming engine. I feel that it is the driver that should get the most benefits of that loud engine. By putting the sound of the engine in the car. For the driver to get his moneys worth. I Love it!!! it would be great if Harley Davidson (and other motorcycle companies) did the same thing. With motorcycles, they can just put the noise in the helmet. Let the rest of us get our rest or be able to walk down the street without jumping lol because of an obnoxious loud car or motorcycle. But this is why Ferrari is one of the best. Now they can just reduce the pollution lol I know I’m pushing that one. Come on with that electric Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborghini etc..
This car doesn't look good. It's a strange mix of different ideas and because of that there is no harmony in the design. The interior is also nothing new and it's already look outdated. Poor move by Ferrari in my opinion.

seeing a redesign like this you're immediately struck with an avalanche of respect for what good taste means when being a designer.
Also The wheels are swastikas lmao
Change the rims, paint the black panel on the rear end body colour and it's perfect
No
The name should be "DAYTONA Stradala"
Daytona meets Disco Volante
More than a dash of the 512S Modulo concept in there too.
They should name it 612 Daytona
They already had the 612 Scaglietti.
If they want to honour the original, they would name it the 540 GTB/4 - 540 for the individual cylinder capacity in cubic centimetres, GTB for GT Berlinetta and /4 for 4 cam.
The original was the 365 GTB/4 and was never called "Daytona" by the factory.
It’s not particularly Ferrari pretty.
The front looks like the front of EV Toyota
You mean that Toyota had imitated Ferrari 😂
considering the front looks like a 365 daytona i'd say Toyota copied ferrari first then. the japanese have been copying european design for decades now so it wouldnt suprise me
Normally aspirated 1:40 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I really don't dig the dark rear glass. Cuts volume from the back, especially cause it goes all the way down. Gives me a sense of vacancy that I really despise. I would have preferred if it was scaled up so not to end on the edge of the tail.
I like the homage to the 365 Daytona on the front though.
Looks like a Honda with the horizontal graphics. Mid tier design identity
Whatever tf that means.
@@Ex.zed. What do you mean "whatever tf that means." You know what the f it means. Stop playing dumb.
worst looking car of the Manzoni era, and I usually love his cars
Its been far too long since I've heard you say that a car is a masterpiece. good to see that there are still good designs coming out.
Finally
I have been waiting for this video since
I agree with you
This is just a sculpture on wheels
That is the ugliest Ferrari I've ever seen.
I was waiting for this.
Frist the nissan Z And now the Farrari 12 cyl.
Hell yeah i love this era of fastback coupe revival.
you didn't see the Ferrari KC23 ?
@@MrTweaksTV yes i did, it's cool and all but not farrari like , i mean to say its just on your face too much like its trying too hard. With that wing and butterfly doors. I respect subtlety.
As soon as you start talking about touch screens I just loose interest... All the talk about preserving the V12 and heritage and so on is great but how about preserving some tactile controls? The worst thing about modern cars in my opinion is the blind, unquestioning, headfirst stumble into a world of touch screens that don't function well and certainly don't age well no matter how good the design.
Lamborghini is getting worse with the quality they are giving nowadays, if you do not select a carbon fibre package in the interior, you are just getting a plastic component
you cant be serious? it literally looks like a glorified KIA from the front.
I was waiting for this one 🔥
Design isn’t about individual elements, it’s about the cohesive balance of all elements together.
sorry but this design is a mess, one or two good elements, but overall is terrible.
Could you elaborate? Tbh I don't see it, so if you'd like to elaborate I'd appreciate
0:38 yeah, Ferrari did say they would never stop making internal combustion engines. They just won’t come stateside anymore
I figure the US and Middle East will be the only markets left for gas engines.
Why do i think it looks so fussy, not beautify at all. I feel like Ferrari lost so much of the elegance their cars always have after Pininfarina.
Same with Lamborghini after Fillipo Perrini left
It is an ugly car. I don't get why this dude praises it. Must be sponsored or something 😂
@@florencebaendes2853 by that logic then you must be sponsored by lamborghini just to hate on it
@EnzoNotFerrari21 did I mention Lambo you dumbf?
@@EnzoNotFerrari21 did I mention lambo you mentally disabled?
The rear is very ugly
Excellent design review 💯
I love 812,f12 but this car looks kinda like if Ferrari made a cybertruck
I was blown away too!
I agree...this looks more simple n real grand tourer design....
They properly nailed the proportions with this one. I just miss the twin circular rear lights, round headlights and bright smile that characterized Ferrari at its peak.
I say the same!
This is an absolute masterpiece!
I cannot believe people think it’s ugly. It’s stunning. I did have an initial shock. But the more I look at it the more I love it. Such purse simplicity
You are doing yourself a brainwash. Look at Ferraris from 2010 to 2020 and you will change your mind
@@stormrider01 well, I actually think Ferrari has lost their way. Within the last 4 years theve been returning to the purity of their roots. If you study the classic Ferraris these recent designs are incredibly harmonious with the language. The classic language. Take the 296 and compare it to the Ferrari 250 LM. The 296 may just the prettiest car I’ve ever laid eyes on.
I’m an automotive designer. Me, bembli, and many others designers share this opinion. After the Italia is where I think it drop off. Obviously there’s some gems here and there.
@@stormrider01 so the years you just listed are exactly the years I actually don’t like as much funnily enough. But that’s just because I fell in love with the classics first. I had an old book I’d pour over all the time as a child. Probably drew every single one. Nobody does it better than Ferrari. Nobody.
the front almost has Saturn vibes yet it totally does work.
No it has old school Ferrari Daytona vibes which came out way before awful Saturn.
@@Frank-pc2rsPeople will think about random cars other than the 365gtb/4 daytona! 🤦♂️
Spider looks nice. Coupe looks ugly because of rear curve. 9:54 I hate this round one section, highlighted with a marker in coupe.
I absolutely love this design. I could see the inspiration as soon as I saw this new announcement. I also see Peugeot and Citroen SM.
It's a beautiful car...I love the white/Grey spec of this car
Couldn't agree more. Beautiful car!
Realy love the 12 Cilindri!!
Work of art.
I'm loving how Ferrari coming back to the simple elegant design language.
master designers teaches us THAT THE ENTIRE BODY DESIGN MUST SPEAK THE SAME LANGUAGE............i can t find this basic condition in this new model. even i respect your analysis i m not a huge fan of this tortured forced design. the front is not a continuation of the rest of car s body. what did they do? WEIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very good presentation! This is another GT-masterpiece of Ferrari and the team under Flavio Manzoni!
KiA Stinger🤢
Nothing to add, as always great video and walk through for the design. the only down side is the screens and what they do; Ferrari should have their R&D team focused into implementing the same passion that the designers and mechanics have! Other than that... Great vehicle! ❤
Firstly let's photoshop critique you before you can chat about style! Then the car.
1.) Clear frame glasses are - in.
2.) Stussy T-shirt, not a primark polo.
3.) Beard should be boxed up trimmed- lynx side burns tash separate from the chin.
4.) Flat brim trucker cap, by Bape/Palace or Stussy.
(Not a cheap one off eBay with a bent brim very 2018. 😂
Now the Car...
One highlight of this design is that the different colours are applied to different panels. That is the only way this should be done.
ferrari comes up with naming convestions the same way they come up with prices
amazing 70s inspired design
F8 is one of the best looking ferrari
This is a beautiful retro-styled Ferrari Daytona.
The interior is similar to the Purosangue, but I don't like the copy & paste dashboard.
I really don't like this car. It looks wrong to me. The 812 Superfast and F12 look much better to me.
I could go for some noise regulations here in the US. No one wants to hear you driving down a neighborhood road at night when you're trying to sleep even with having a sound machine.
Just get an after exhaust sound problem
Solved
Not bad but it doesn't have the same appeal as the beautiful roma, with basically the same base lines and theme, only more modernized.
love it. And this is what I have been saying all along. Make modern versions of old classics - the designs were so much more distinct and fluid. This is going to be successful
I love all the angles of the car but the front, absolutely love the top part of the car!
Notice that all the revealed cars were in the Italian flag colours.
Low 400k, not bad I thought it would be in the mid 500k, great looking car tho love it.
I don't like it. Looks like a Citroen concept or something.
One of my favorite designs they have ever made. What a stunner
Looks like a BUICK

The only part looking bad for me is the connection between the doors and the rear shoulders parts, it looks like what BMW did on the M3.
Front end looks like if a g90 and a mk5 supra had a baby
this guy is glazing this cash grab like it's actually good.
