They tried to play with the black colors of the La Ferrari but this aspect definitely weakens the feel of the car, as if the body was already about to peel away 12:14 No. Ferrari was very remembered by its round taillights as well. It's unfortunate that they wasted that chance for a comeback in the F8 Tributo. Given the designers' latest cars, they were clearly trying to mash up various elements of the wedged Ferraris to reconcile with the LaFerrari chassis and the F50 form factor. Another addition: The black belt worked well with the old Daytona and the latest released tourers because that wide horizontal panel was meant to signify stop, which fit well within the relaxed performance of the Grand Tourers as they were mostly front-engined cars. *That same stop heavily restrains the need for speed experience that a Ferrari flagship was supposed to deliver...*

Even though the F80 does not have an NA V12, if the sound of the 296 GTB was anything to go by, which is to say that it sounds really good for a V6, then I'm sure the V6 in the F80 will sound just fine. I also love the black bar across the front since it makes it look as if the car is wearing a visor and cutting through the air.
they dont tho, the AMGs engine only makes 560HP from the gas engine compared to 900 from the Ferrari and Ferrari is nearly a full second faster 0-60. the AMG car is A LOT more reliant on the batteries and electric motor. very different powertrains when u look past surface level specs
gonna get awhile to get used to, but it feels like a modern interpretation (or abomination) of the F40 with its squared off styling. The F40 is my favorite flagship design of all time, so im a bit torn.
Your taste is falling off lately! I can see a solid design underneath bad graphics and bad details, but unfortunately is too busy and lacks personality for a Ferrari, headlights and taillights being underwhelming to say the least. Round rear taillights please. Those front vents are awful. The black bar is there! The NACA duct is too complex, made of too much pieces! First halo car in the Ferrari lineup not to have center locks and the wheel design is uninspired itself. To top everything... it has a V6! WOW!
Making observations and with adjective descriptors, is not true criticism. You have to explain the descriptors of your observations with why, and explain why thats bad, otherwise, its as if you didnt say anything.
@@Khan-ts2ji do you know that opinions are subjective, don't you? They are far from the best wheels I've seen. They are uninspired and not that elegant like those on the LaFerrari, for example. And the two tone is silly. Not having center locks in a halo Ferrari car is a sin in my point of view.
I think the Ferrari 499P (the FIA WEC hypercar) looks better than this and is 100% racing focused. So with this f80 they didn't go for "full racing" design but also managed to miss the "sexy/savage Ferrari" style. Just awful in Ferrari/supercar terms. It looks like an aftermarket Senna.

@staLkerhu It's a saying.... Like; sometimes you eat the bear and sometimes the bear eats you.
Bembli...apparently you lost all critical opinion... everything is "beautiful" and "great" now.... the F80 is really that ????🙈🙈🙈🙈
It looks retro cool.
Best looking Ferrari so far, in my opinion
0:55
This angle makes me think of a *late 80s - early 90s Camaro* with a LeBra® hood protector
Not even a V24 could've made this car desirable it's an abomination of a design
7:25 You're lying to yourself there. *Even that 80's car had a better more arrow-like end to this cut.* The F80 looks more like a Volvo, just like the MC20.
8:57 The straight cut was okay with the F40 and the Enzo/FXX but it was shifted into a more angular stance with the LaFerrari/FXX-K for the, saying again, an arrow-like end that the F80 should've dragged on
10:30 The sharp cut is exaggerated by the black panel behind. They tried to play with the black colors of the La Ferrari but this aspect definitely weakens the feel of the car, as if the body was already about to peel away
12:14 No.
Tons of F40 references, extremely modernized, love it. The rest of the pack will copy the features for the next 15 years to come
as an 80’s kid, this screams race car to me.
Yea that’s why I like it. It looks retro and like the posters I used to have
Not only 80’s kid, late 90’s kid will also be familiar with aero principles from GT500 NSX.
I think it looks pretty good except for the black space in the front. Sort that out, it’ll be REALLY good
Glad im not the only one. idk to me it makes the car look lower tier
It looks disastrous! and a V6??????? Even if it makes 3000Hp it's a fucking V6 in a multimillion dollar car
Im a car designer and weirdly enough i love this thing, not more than the laff, but I think they did a great job incorporating classic ferrari design and heritage, I love the doors, the boxy profile, and how long, wide and low it is. Engine aside I don't understand all the hate for the design.
Nothing wrong with the design. This is what you get when you follow the aerodynamic principles of GT endurance car. Like GT500 NSX or Senna. Obviously LaF is more like walking sculpture compared to F80.
@@arapaimagold8088 i think this has a beautiful design that's actually quite retro in its styling and boxy design which I really appreciate. not everything pretty is curvy.
Similar problems I have with the 12 Cilindri, over styled, fake, confused, appliance. Dont get it twisted, I am not saying they're ugly, they aren't, they're pretty all the same, but they just don't feel naturally beautiful anymore.
What a retro classic! Though I can understand the complains
It just looks like a LEGO technic Car
No, Bembli, it's not "emotional", nor "industrial" . It's plain ugly. There's a lot of ways to design a car that stands out from the crowd and looks technical at the same time, Aston is nailing it atm. Ferrari's in house design team is butchering the brand history and legacy. Another shit design to turn the heads of flashy instagram influencers and kids with no sense of style
People will hate on any car these days. I like the racing influence, a great homage to the F40 which was built around a race car engine and was form follows function too.
I was okay with your criticism until your criticism of the wheels. The wheels are the best I’ve ever seen.
@@lyricofwise6894 do you even read it? I've explained myself.

Yes...totally retarded, childlish opinions..as many in thia comment section...just cry babies.
The right one !
☝️
such a lovely design, Hats off really💯
This comment section is disheartening. It's sad to see such a collection of closed-minded and bitter individuals. It's perfectly fine not to appreciate something-taste is subjective, and some may naturally resist change. But why resort to attacking the UA-camr? He's doing a good job explaining the design choices with care.
As someone putting themselves forward as a journalistic authority, one should have some integrity and offer criticism where it's due. Otherwise one loses credibility as an authority, when all of your subjects choices can just be 'explained' away. It appears there's too much appeasing the powerful here. Your argument negates the value of constructive criticism.
What the actual fuck are you talking about? Seriously? Those people prefer that, you prefer this shitbox, but don't bitch about it.

So I’ve been having my suspicions about you and this channel glazing every car, I had it with the new vanquish, a couple of new BMW and now this confirms it. I don’t think you should talk about design of cars any more because if you can’t see that this and the v12 cilindri are our right “gopping” as James may likes to put it, then you’ve lost all plot. This is one of the ugliest things, not even car, things in the world and cannot hold a candle to the LaFerrari, also evidenced by the comments under this post about LAF prices going up.
This is the very first time I would disagree with you sir (respectfully). This design is too busy, becoming more like a Lamborghini. Ferrari is simple yet beautiful without being loud.

I like the F40's retro look of the F80, I like the modern reinterpretation of the NACA ducts that run from the car's doors into the car's thighs, but it's a shame Ferrari didn't go one step further with the retro design and put in triple tailpipes. lexan (see through) engine cover and round taillights to further resemble the F40.

This is exactly how I feel about Ferrari these days. The simple beauty has made way for trendy AI, over stylised futuristic designed versions of classics that still look better than the modern versions anyway.

Function With Beauty - LaFerrari
I've seen many AI automotive designs and there's no way this is not worse.
9:36 It clashes here too. It’s like it’s 2 different cars. It looks fine in the camouflaged car cuz it hides the lines. The front, the middle and the rear are like they’re off 3 different cars smashed together. Not cohesive at all
