IIRC the maximum attacks you can do per round in the game is 15. Imagine seeing someone swing a giant ass zweihander with smites 15 times in 6 seconds lol literally vergil moment
I wish there was a moment after the battle where we could taunt a dying Raphael. Like leaning close to his ear as he lay bleeding and gasping on the floor to whisper, "Then down came the claw. And that, love, was that."
As always, this is a masterclass in utilizing every tool available. Can't stress enough how interesting it is watching some of these techniques like the gear swaps for the various pre-fight buffs. I mean, come on.. dropping your weapon, equipping another, and using the new weapon's unique action to buff the weapon on the ground is so smart and elegant.
I learned so much from watching this in slow motion. Handy ui tricks, perks i missed. I was more impressed with the smoothness of the ececution than any of the numbers. This was like watching a well studied ritual. Good job

Could someone break down how the sword damage is over 100? I can only account for (2d6+36)*2, which doesn't quite get to 100: enchantment (3) + 2 (callous) + 10 (all in) + 8 (27 str elixir) + 8 (giantslayer) +5 (arcane synergy)

I soloed all of them to prove him wrong, and Raphael is next on the hit list. I've been looking up solo runs at Raph all day, and yours is my favorite. In Overlord/Yggdrasil though it doesn't seem like mages uses spell slots but instead can cast as many spells as they want, as long as they have the mana for it and the spells aren't on cooldown. Thankfully for the guy in the video here he only used 1 spell that cost a spell slot (mirror image) before the fight, everything else either cost bonus actions or cantrip actions.
I saved the bomb meant for the Steel Watch foundry and threw it at Raphaels face from inside a globe of invulnerability, almost killed all the weaker mobs instantly then mopped up the rest while Raphael was stuck with hold monster spell
so raphael is singing while drowning in his own blood, the big guy Yurgir is sliding very slowly, maybe trying to hide under the couch as a last effort in surviving this ordeal. all the other are just confused and clueless about what just happened, the hero doesn't even bother doing the animation toward the end to kill the midget. this is just as it was intended.
Lithis powers are primarily INT based saves (debuffs) on the enemy - it makes sense when you see their brain pulsate when they speak to signify intelligence. Most enemies have weak mental stats (int, wis, charisma). The phalar aluv he uses debuffs all 3 by lowering their rolls by two. So, the damage skyrockets. Mental inhibition does it too. Hold monster and the like are all wisdom saves.
I always fantasise paladin to be a lawful good religious dumb stubborn person whose got the entire house of priests to buff him/her, has fully enchanted gear from head to toe, and just blow away enemies with sneeze, this is the closest depiction I’ve seen lol.
I very much liked that you showed of your character at the start rather than the end of the video. Showing every item and especially every buff while you apply it makes this 100% better than most of these kinds of videos since you enable us to see how the build works way better that way. At 1:41 you can see the „form of artifice“ buff where does this one come from?
On the playthrough with a friend of mien we had the inside joke that my paladin misses atleast one of her two attacks. :3 You hitting almost everything(if not all attacks) is making me feel kinda bad for my pally. x(

I did something similar, but as 7/5 oathbreaker/pact-of-blade ... gets you 3 attacks per action instead of 2. I also opened with hypnotic pattern which shutdown almost all the enemies, so I just knocked them down one by one. I did not know about using perilous strikes on _enemies_. That's a nice trick.
I still think it's funnier that Raphael becomes a sitting duck if you just put a lvl1 spell silence on him. Just use sentinel or something to restrict his movement.
On my first playthrough I used the darkness of hadar or how is it called and oiled up the place where he was, dude literally was holding and quivering in fear lmao

Honestly dude "just" brought the level of minmaxing you see in high level play (17+). As a DM the first mistake would have been to give access to the "perfect build" to a character, and yeah, calculating the bonuses and damages would have taken a long while lol
it won't work because you can't just stop time while you pre-buff, you won't be able to know in advance when and where the fight actually triggers and of course speaking should break invisibility and not grant surprised effect

Yeah because oddly, the aura of hate is obtained by level 7. Since he is a 6/6 paladin sorcerer. The pally aura at 7 that gets replaced; he wasn’t using it anyways. Then you get to swap the 45 heal laying on hands for 3 spells at 7 for some reason. You can oathbreak this build and it just doesn’t matter. Only matters if you play full pally.
Paladin counts basically as a "half a caster", so Pala 6 gives you spell slots equivalent to a lvl 3 full caster. As a sorcerer you progress as a full caster, so spell slots of a lvl 6 full caster. That combines to a level 9 full caster -> 3 lvl 4 and 1 lvl 5 spell slots. There's probably a much less convoluted way of explaining that, but I hope it makes sense. Sorry for that
Yo Mr. Sin. Anything you would have changed in the build had you started over? Thoughts on Sorcadin vs Palalock? Thinking of starting a Durge run, githyanki, duergar or half orc makes for a tough choice. Duergar gets a super handy invis at 5 which can be recast once per combat and infinite out of combat.
lots of items and invis potions, i think half orc is too good not to pick, the ability to cheat death and to get buns damage on crits in a game that gives u options to guarantee those crits, again, is just too good
I agree half orc is very good for crit pala. I'm also debating oatbreaker vs devotion, granted you would need 7 pala then. That might brick the build.@@dbaxter604
The main benefit of Sorcadin in bg3 is that you get way more spell slots, and spell slots of higher levels. Once you get 5-7 into Paladin, there’s literally nothing else you really need from it for damage, so you may as well pump those numbers with extra 4th and 5th level spell slots from sorc.
Arcane Acuity gives +3 Spell Save DC, it is utilized only to guarantee Perilous Stake land. While it doesn't stack with Cloud Giant, Arcane Acuity as a buff, take turns to tick down. By drinking Battlemage Power first then Cloud Giant Str right before combat, the character get to have 27 STR and still keep 3 Arcane Acuity.
@@stevenmurray9812 There are a ton of save DC boosting items and a headband that sets your int to 17. Alternatively it’s not hard to get 16 INT with your +1. My cleric is basically a mystic theurge with a save dc of like 23.

I just tried it again, it still works for me as a buffing tool, been using it like that since the beginning, but you're right about the description, i've only noticed now that you mentioned it. There are so many bugged interactions in BG3 at the moment i can't tell what is bug and intentional anymore.

That’s not Homebrew. It used the 5e multiclass spell slot chart. Paladin counts has half a level in a spell caster, sorcerer counts as a full level, so according to the chart, he’s a 9th level spell caster. Thus, 6th level slots.
@Cheerwine091 I was referring to how he was doing over 5d8 smite dmg, I should have been more clear. Depending on your split at one point Larian was also rounding up what spell slots you got vs rounding down. Sadly, they patched that and doing more than 5d8 smites in the latest update...oh well. Lockadin extra attack from potb at 5/5 seems to be stronger generally, maybe not nova, which is def something they just left in as a homebrew when they found out it wasn't working as intended. Potb shouldn't give you an extra attack at all or one on top of the extra atk from paly 5 but they tried to make it a pseudo hexblade

I think the thing I like most about sin tee videos is the lack of narration. The video is only as long as it needs to be, without unnecessary filler.

How are you dealing 80 damage per hit from the physical hit???
I mean, I understand the point of a sorcadin in mainline 5e, you can attack 3 times with great weapons. But GFB and BB aren't a thing in BG3

Why using amulet and cloak with Spell Save DC? Paladin benefits somehow out of it?
Take a single level in wizard and learn hold monster via a scroll. Quicken spell it on him and crit on every attack.
Almost certainly won't land since anything you learn via scroll will use intelligence for spell save DC.

I couldn''t maintain the shrieking debuff from phlanar sword if I equip another sword (says so in description that it will fall off)....why does it work for you ?
I just tried it again, it still works for me as a buffing tool, been using it like that since the beginning, but you're right about the description, i've only noticed now that you mentioned it.
There are so many bugged interactions in BG3 at the moment i can't tell what is bug and intentional anymore.
@@sintee106 yeah, since last hotfix the Boots of Stormy Clamour don't apply reverbaration anymore. Larian is on holidays atm (or were, not sure) so I think some more patches will be incoming, at least when the xbox version launches end of year.
Oh shit, I didn't realize multiclasssing a sorc and paly gives you full sorc spell progression and spell slots for smites. Damn Larians homebrew bs.

That’s not Homebrew. It used the 5e multiclass spell slot chart.
Paladin counts has half a level in a spell caster, sorcerer counts as a full level, so according to the chart, he’s a 9th level spell caster. Thus, 6th level slots.
@Cheerwine091 I was referring to how he was doing over 5d8 smite dmg, I should have been more clear. Depending on your split at one point Larian was also rounding up what spell slots you got vs rounding down. Sadly, they patched that and doing more than 5d8 smites in the latest update...oh well.
Lockadin extra attack from potb at 5/5 seems to be stronger generally, maybe not nova, which is def something they just left in as a homebrew when they found out it wasn't working as intended. Potb shouldn't give you an extra attack at all or one on top of the extra atk from paly 5 but they tried to make it a pseudo hexblade
