I DON'T recommend purchasing this camera. Our camera no longer functioning well. The sound is glitchy, sometimes the light doesnt come on at night, and when we try and upload files into our editor, it says they are corrupted. The video is still good to explane trail camera features. All our Browning cameras are working well on year 2
Super helpful. For some reason, I wasn't getting the owners manual. I was but seeing it and your description through each explanation of what it did was huge! Thank you. I'm setting this up for theives that get on my property and try and steal my stuff!
@@JohnMack-o4p glad it was helpful! Hopefully you get the problem solved. Try and keep the camera out of eye level so the don't try and destroy it. It's better to keep it out of reach but that doesn't always give the best angle.
I have not tried the external power supply on this camera, but on my other cameras, the power supply is separate from the batteries. For example, in my Browning cameras, I can leave the batteries in and hook up a solar panel with a battery, and it will power the camera from that. However, it will not charge the AA batteries inside the camera from an external source. I started to leave the AA batteries in even with an external power supply because on one camera I had a bird pull the external cable out of the camera and then the camera had no power. But if you leave the AA batteries in the camera and the external cord gets pulled out the camera will then start running from the AA batteries
I recently purchased this exact trail cam. Thanks for the great tutorial. I'm getting familiar with the camera. I learned that the video captured is in AVI format which my Mac Quick Time Player cannot open. Will research on that next.
VLC is a great free video player that is our favorite for playing all formats. If you decide to download it just make sure it's from the official VLC page. Thank you for the kind words!
So the card link in the description is for a 128GB but the note you put on the screen is 128MB. Can you clarify this for me please? Thank you for the video, it helped a lot

Not really. I also have lost an SD card in the woods and I almost dropped one in the stream when I was trying to get the card out. I have exact same cam,I have an extra setting I think ,it’s Wi-fi LED…. Any suggestions. I also doing everything explained and it doesn’t seem to be recording. Is that because I’m on an iPhone,or because I have an older sd card? Great vid by the way
I don't think this camera is offered with wifi. If you have an old SD card it might not record because 4k video takes an SD card with a very fast write speed, 30 MBS miniumum
When I tested it for 3 days close to the house it seemed to do as well as all the other cameras. It has been out in the woods now for almost 2 months and I have not checked it because it is a full days hike in and back to do my trail camera run for the route it's on. I am hoping to get out in the next 2 weeks to check it. Overall I would say we liked it on first impressions. But I will give a follow-up as soon as i can.
One thing that I didn't notice until we pulled the card again is that the sound cuts in and out. Some of the videos have sound and some do not. We noticed because we had it beside a stream and in several of the videos it has no sound in the first 10 seconds and then the sound comes on.
I have a 5K Ultra HD Trail Camera that seems to only record video in AVI. Is there any way to set it for MP4? Whenever I go to convert the AVI file using numerous different converters I get an error message. Thanks ahead of time.
@ashleydavies2113 I have had the same problem. If there is a setting to change to record in another format I have not found it. Our video editing software wont recognize the avi files from the camera but it is able to recognize them recorded by a different camera. I use VLC to convert mine to MP4. VLC is free and open source,if you decide to try it make sure you get it from the official website.
As an update....we have started having problems with our files being corrupted from this camera. VLC has stopped working to convert them and our other software also doesn't like the files.
First is the side detectors do not cause extra false triggers. I always run mine, and rarely have false images, when I do my cameras without them has a comparable amount of false triggers. And I advise against trimming,it does more bad than good. It mainly spooks game. I agree sometimes you have to trim something, but if it's not causing an extreme amount of false triggers, leave it be. Your IR range(how much it lights up.the area) does not need to be on high all the time. In tighter areas it can really hurt you by saturating the pic/video with too much light. I run mine on med. And really can't tell much difference at longer ranges. Good Tip on the sd cards most folks miss. Mark each card to and exact camera, not just the same kind. You did a good job,I just stated what I meant wrongly. Good luck with your channel

How long does it record video without downloading?
It records it onto an SD card. You then remove the card and view it with SD card reader on your phone, tablet, or computer
I have put a 256 GB card in it and it worked fine. That will record for 6 months, depending on how many videos you get.
