Last Friday, a former Twitch employee sent the gaming and streaming world into a frenzy by apparently revealing the reason popular streamer Guy Beahm, known by most as Dr Disrespect, was mysteriously banned from the platform in 2020. Now, the game studio Beahm co-founded, Midnight Society, says it has terminated its relationship with him, effective immediately, in the wake of the allegation that Beahm was banned from Twitch for his messages to someone. Midnight Society announced the news with a post on X/Twitter on Monday, saying they "assumed" Beahm's innocence and "began speaking with parties involved. And in order to maintain our principles and standards as a studio and individuals, we needed to act."
"While these facts are difficult to hear and even more difficult to accept, it is our duty to act with dignity on behalf of all individuals involved, especially the fifty-five developers and families we have employed along with our community of players," the statement, which you can read in full below, continues. - Ігри

What do YOU think about this? As an old DOC fan I am still just shocked by all of it.
He didn't even try to seriously deny the allegations at all, twitch kept it silent too, both are at fault.
The fact that 2 companies terminated business relationships worth millions of him, and him not even denying it at first, leads me to believe it's true.
How come no one talks about heelmike and zherka literally hanging with teens where’s the outrage there?
There really is no reason Doc hasn’t vehemently denied these allegations or threatened legal action for defamation. I personally would be screaming to the heavens protesting my innocence. Definitely not a good look at all.

The way his tweet is worded comes off as he definitely did something but it maybe didn't fall under anything too serious. I bet he was up to his old shenanigans again.
I've been a gamer for 30 plus years and own everything from 8 bit consoles to the newest systems but anytime I hear anyone talk about streamers I feel out of the loop.

@@kill3rbyysight I agree no harm no foul. My mom, used to clean the house and dance around listening to music. My dad would be in the garage working on stuff listening to music. For myself and many of my friends If I’m doing the dishes or folding laundry, dusting the house, I usually have a video game streaming (Twitch) on my TV. I know so many people now have pretty good size flatscreen’s in their garages so they can watch Twitch ,UA-cam or sports while working on whatever it is. That was never the case, even in the 90s. I’m sure people had TVs in the garages then, but I didn’t know anybody they usually had like a little radio! lol

I think Twitch were doing something that infringes upon our rights. The whole rumour of (and I will say rumour) Doc maybe messaging an underage person. Two people in the wrong, but if its really the case... Uhh it would be catastrophically bad for Twitch if that came out arguably more damaging than Doc getting outted.
Here's the thing if it is true this just makes Twitch look so bad. I don't know what to believe anymore.

It is crazy. It sounds to me like he is defeated. What happened was already a low point in his life, and he likely seems like he was truly ashamed to have been talking to a minor, knowingly or not. If a court found anything he would have been in jail all this time or at least be on public sex offender lists. This is a man defeated because a mistake threatened to ruin his life previously and now its rearing its head again and now is actually ruining his life.

I don’t know what year you’re living in but the good ole “innocent until proven guilty” was destroyed by the democrats in 2016 when they started going after Trump. @@NebzzNope. Not how it works. It's extremely difficult to sue and recover losses from people who don't have disposable income. The courts can only take money AFTER all of your needs are met, so lawyers are very good at making it look like you live paycheck to paycheck. Doc could sue him, spend millions and never see a dime even tho he wins the case.
If he is able to sue Twitch due to the allegations of a former employee who had insight at the time, then that's a different story. I'm sure all of this is currently being probed. It's also very smart to "get fired" and "quit streaming" (loss of income) if you are going to need to prove actual malice, the standard of defamation, in a court of law.

His statements were lawyer speak. He's damned if he says he didn't do it, he's damned if he says what he said, and he's damned if he says nothing. If he flat out denies it he is potentially making a direct statement about something directly related to the case. Guarantee his response was vetted by his lawyers before he clicked send. I'm going to wait for actual proof before I judge him. If he is confirmed to have done what he allegedly did, he needs to be punished accordingly, but let's wait for the proof.

I am a simple man. I see based Dr. Disrespect getting some weird, weird me2- type accusations from the w0k3 hell which is twitch.... i laugh and do not give a damn about those accusations.
If he did something other than breaking policy, he never got arrested. He sued twitch and they bent the knee. He obviously did nothing nefarious, twitch had to pay him, twitch got an NDA, so he can’t talk about it. Him getting fired even though he was never charged is BS.
That's not how it works. Most lawsuits are settled out of court. Especially with giant corporations. A settlement does not equate guilt or innocence. I believe Dr Dis was talking to a minor but didn't know it. So he didn't commit a crime, but it looks bad for him and opens up twitch to a class action lawsuit if this gets out and other minors come forward with similar experiences. So both parties wanted the NDA and both parties risk reputation and financial losses. Dr Dis and Twitch aren't noble. They are in a self-preservation mentality.
