Theres still a few absolute bangers I'm looking forward to. Astrobot vr is one of my top 5 platformers ever so absolutely loving the idea of a full sequel. Wolverine im really hype for, insomniac have been dropping back to back bangers over the last few years so i have high hopes for the game. Behemoth vr im also incredibly hype for, made by the walking dead saints and sinners team but much more medieval fantasy vibe. Some other great ones like wu kong but those are the main three im hype for.

My kid plays Astro waaaaay more than Mario Wonder. In a way Astro is more for everyone and Mario wonder is more for millennials (who force their kids to like Nintendo). My kid loved Zelda BoTW but Zelda ToTK was way too involved for a 3rd grader. At least from my experience as a parent, Astro had much more of an impact (e.g., like Super Mario Bros on the NES) than anything Nintendo switch has put out for elementary school kids. The music, replay value, and accessibility seems to be with the Astro game. We’ll see how the next one goes. imo they should make it free for people who buy the ps pro.
I hope they put focus back to fun platformers like astrobot and sackboy along with new light hearted ips. Not to compete with mario but to provide that type of fun with their own core consumers. I think it's a good time for that.
Sony needs to go back to their usual AAA game development cycle. This gen is starving for exclusives but they are taking way too long and cost way too much to make.
PlayStation as a console has always been most successful and at its best when the Japanese devs are kicking ass and bringing stellar titles to the system. PS1 ✅ PS2 ✅ PS4 ✅ PS5 ✅ Their weakest console came when Japanese devs didn't reach the heights as a whole on the console as they have every other generation during the PS3 era. It's absolutely important for Sony PlayStation to have good relationships with Japanese devs and try to win back the Japanese market.
Japanese people don’t play consoles because they don’t have the time or space to play them. They generally buy PlayStations towards the end of their cycles.

The ps5 generation has been pretty mediocre so far. I like my ps5 because of the faster load times of my games. But, you really don’t need a ps5, you can get away with a base ps4 for another couple years. You will still get the new COD, sports games, all of the free to play games that dominate play time, and a ton of 3rd parties will still support the ps4. If I knew this at the launch I would’ve saved $500 and waited a couple more years to get the PS5 cheaper 2nd hand.

I agree, there's no way SONY is going to go to Tokyo Gameshow after being away so long & just talk about stuff we already know. They've got some new things to show off that we might have known about but haven't seen anything on yet, as well as things we had no idea even existed. Maybe (hopefully) this year at Tokyo Gameshow we'll finally see what Arnt Jensen (Playdead) & Fumito Ueda (genDESIGN) have in store for us. The wait has been way too long.
I figured Sony will be at Tokyo game show. It makes perfect sense for Sony being at Tokyo game show. Tokyo game show would be a huge opportunity for Nintendo to reveal the switch 2. All the Japanese developers are going to be at Tokyo game show. I could see the public playing the new Nintendo switch 2 console on the Tokyo game show floor. We haven't heard or seen anything from Sony yet on future releases for the Ps5 console.

For now 3rd parties are where it’s at with Sony. Sucks for xbox because the series S is holding back 3rd party games on the platform. Majority Japanese do not need AAA with most advanced graphic, but fun gameplay. Look at Switch overall almost non-existent AAA games. Sony should re-invest on AA fun gameplay also.
I'm really hoping for a new era of Japanese-made games for a new era of gamers. Its been proven time and again that it draws an audience. If Pocketpair can make it happen for Palworld, so can Sony, Konami, Capcom, etc.
If Sony decides to take part of the Tokyo Game Show after being absent for too long, it means that their bottom line is being affected. That could be an explanation after that disastrous State of Play, it was not surprising for them to lose to Nintendo (a straight of consecutive Ls for Sony since the release of the Switch) but it was surprising for Sony to lose to Microsoft in presentation as well. Being at the top for too long has taken a huge toll on them.

It was better before when each sony exclusive had its own personality and genre, you had Uncharted for the adventure TPS game, God of War for the ancient melee weapon game, Resistance for the FPS type of game, etc.... Now they are too similar

Was a big fan of Nintendo the only system I owned, now bored by what Nintendo has been putting out I got a PS5 5 months ago. My main reason was MH World and Wilds but uncharted, God of War, Horizon and Elden ring made the PS5 an easy choice for me. Just played Astro playroom after hearing about Astro bot innovate fun plat-former I have ever played the small size left me wanting more and now we will get more was waiting for prime 4 on Nintendo. But Astro bot, star wars outlaws and MH Wilds is what I am looking forward to the most. Played the Witcher 3 and Batman Arkham knight on both outstanding games on the PS5 not so much on the switch. Can count on one hand how many new 1st party games that I thought were great.
That's great, I'm looking forward to it. It's no wonder the PS5 has been selling somewhat low in Japan, hopefully Sony coming back in at the Tokyo Gameshow helps it a bit.
I’ll put it THIS WAY: I BELIEVE there’s POTENTIALLY multiple threads all LEADING UP TO some kind of major PlayStation event happening before the end of the year, PROBABLY in September. Why September? Well, that marks the drop of their next first-party game (Astro Bot) and recently they’ve been doing this ANNOYING TREND of not revealing ANYTHING beyond whatever their next project is that’s closest to release. September is ALSO typically the month that TGS is held AND September for this year ALSO holds some SIGNIFICANCE because it marks the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation brand. Add in that they’re STILL supposedly dropping the PS5 Pro before the end of this year and still need to formally announce it, I THINK we’ll FINALLY get the showcase that we’ve been WANTING FROM THEM in a few months. If not, then they can go to hell because a bunch of people who are generally PlayStation diehards are getting REALLY FED UP with the distinct lack of any first-party announcements.
I’m guessing Xbox and PlayStation are trying their best to make it APPEAR like they have more stuff than they have right now. I would be very surprised if many of the projects we see from these two are actually coming in the next five years

I just feel like this generation doesn't have any series or big games that scream "this is the ps5" There's a couple great games, fewer than you'd think, and a few more decent games, but not many exclusives or games that felt like "playstation." If I think back to any previous gen, ps1, ps2, ps3, ps4, I can also point to multiple specific games that defined the generation. I love playstation, I just feel like they've lost all their momentum recently, and idk why. Is the hardware hard to work with? Did devs not have the resources to work on ps5? Is Sony screwing developers or holding their tongue on ambitious games that are taking waaaaay longer than they thought? What is it? I mean, legitimately, weve only got, 6-7 full ps5 exclusive games, no exaggeration, over the course of 4-5 years. And then everything else? My rules about videogames: 1) Never preorder again. 2) Buy physical games only unless it's an indie worthy it game. 3) Don't purchase any game that has wokeness in it. Many times publishers release an update as in censoring or adding microtransactions after the reviews are in. Being an impulse buyer enslaves you. 5) Any older games that get remade, most likely will be altered with wokeness for the modern audience a.k.a. weak minded droness that are easily manipulated emotionally a.k.a children in grown up bodies. 6) Do not trade games in the store, only with friends, coworkers etc. 7) Do not buy live service games (Helldivers 2 was an exception for me), I'm 99% a single player person. Anyone that takes advantage of your money is smart, and that makes you stupid. Everything is energy, they provide the games for money in exchange. Life is beautiful, there are so many beautiful things besides standing in front of the screen. 9) When you purchase new games at Eb games or anywhere else, the case must be wrapped in the plastic. For as long as money is in your pocket, you have the power. If the situation requires it, leave the store, you do not have to buy the game, even if it is the last copy. I agree, there's no way SONY is going to go to Tokyo Gameshow after being away so long & just talk about stuff we already know. They've got some new things to show off that we might have known about but haven't seen anything on yet, as well as things we had no idea even existed. Maybe (hopefully) this year at Tokyo Gameshow we'll finally see what Arnt Jensen (Playdead) & Fumito Ueda (genDESIGN) have in store for us. The wait has been way too long.

I figured Sony will be at Tokyo game show. It makes perfect sense for Sony being at Tokyo game show. Tokyo game show would be a huge opportunity for Nintendo to reveal the switch 2. All the Japanese developers are going to be at Tokyo game show. I could see the public playing the new Nintendo switch 2 console on the Tokyo game show floor. We haven't heard or seen anything from Sony yet on future releases for the Ps5 console.
I think they announced the ps5 pro awhile ago right? But I don't think I've heard anything since. I just hope they don't go all digital from here on.

GoW is done, Naughty Dog is pretty much a TLoU machine and won’t release the game for like 3 more years I guess, and I can’t think of any other Sony exclusive that will announce a game to be released in 2024. For now 3rd parties are where it’s at with Sony. Sucks for xbox because the series S is holding back 3rd party games on the platform. Sony can take its time because at the moment 3rd parties are pretty much Sony exclusives.

Majority Japanese do not need AAA with most advanced graphic, but fun gameplay. Look at Switch overall almost non-existent AAA games. Sony should re-invest on AA fun gameplay also.

If Sony decides to take part of the Tokyo Game Show after being absent for too long, it means that their bottom line is being affected. That could be an explanation after that disastrous State of Play, it was not surprising for them to lose to Nintendo (a straight of consecutive Ls for Sony since the release of the Switch) but it was surprising for Sony to lose to Microsoft in presentation as well. Being at the top for too long has taken a huge toll on them.

It was better before when each sony exclusive had its own personality and genre, you had Uncharted for the adventure TPS game, God of War for the ancient melee weapon game, Resistance for the FPS type of game, etc....

Was a big fan of Nintendo the only system I owned, now bored by what Nintendo has been putting out I got a PS5 5 months ago. My main reason was MH World and Wilds but uncharted, God of War, Horizon and Elden ring made the PS5 an easy choice for me. Just played Astro playroom after hearing about Astro bot innovate fun plat-former I have ever played the small size left me wanting more and now we will get more was waiting for prime 4 on Nintendo. But Astro bot, star wars outlaws and MH Wilds is what I am looking forward to the most. Played the Witcher 3 and Batman Arkham knight on both outstanding games on the PS5 not so much on the switch. Can count on one hand how many new 1st party games that I thought were great.

I BELIEVE there’s POTENTIALLY multiple threads all LEADING UP TO some kind of major PlayStation event happening before the end of the year, PROBABLY in September.
Why September? Well, that marks the drop of their next first-party game (Astro Bot) and recently they’ve been doing this ANNOYING TREND of not revealing ANYTHING beyond whatever their next project is that’s closest to release.
September is ALSO typically the month that TGS is held AND September for this year ALSO holds some SIGNIFICANCE because it marks the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation brand.
Add in that they’re STILL supposedly dropping the PS5 Pro before the end of this year and still need to formally announce it, I THINK we’ll FINALLY get the showcase that we’ve been WANTING FROM THEM in a few months.
If not, then they can go to hell because a bunch of people who are generally PlayStation diehards are getting REALLY FED UP with the distinct lack of any first-party announcements.
I’m guessing Xbox and PlayStation are trying their best to make it APPEAR like they have more stuff than they have right now. I would be very surprised if many of the projects we see from these two are actually coming in the next five years

I just feel like this generation doesn't have any series or big games that scream "this is the ps5" There's a couple great games, fewer than you'd think, and a few more decent games, but not many exclusives or games that felt like "playstation." If I think back to any previous gen, ps1, ps2, ps3, ps4, I can also point to multiple specific games that defined the generation. I love playstation, I just feel like they've lost all their momentum recently, and idk why. Is the hardware hard to work with? Did devs not have the resources to work on ps5? Is Sony screwing developers or holding their tongue on ambitious games that are taking waaaaay longer than they thought? What is it? I mean, legitimately, weve only got, 6-7 full ps5 exclusive games, no exaggeration, over the course of 4-5 years. And then everything else? I feel like this past few years since 2019, the gaming industry has been in such a rut, and thats expected after the pando, but fuck. I just want games, anything. I find myself waiting months at a time to be able to even touch my ps5 because I just don't have anything to play
So Sony is going to talk about a game they'll release in 3 years.

I got a Ps5 about 1 month after its release... and I STILL don't own a ps5 game, I'm playing backward compatible games on if I turn it on at all. I'm not saying that Xbox is better, but gamepass makes it better for those games you want to try, but it's not worth just shelling out 70+ for a game that's worth 15 on a good day. New Ghost of tsushima, give in a make another, days gone. Or that other zombie like game. Then it'd be worth it. No more marvel or raccoon games 😝🔥🚒 🍼
The last “showcase” sucked so I don’t have high hopes. Sony makes great games but they’ve taught me to expect the bare minimum this generation.

My rules about videogames:
1) Never preorder again.
2) Buy physical games only unless it's an indie worthy it game.
3) Don't purchase any game that has wokeness in it. The reson for wokeness is to destroy family values, gender identity, relationSHIPS, to feminize men and to masculinize women.
4) Do not but any game on release day. Many times publishers release an update as in censoring or adding microtransactions after the reviews are in. Being an impulse buyer enslaves you.
5) Any older games that get remade, most likely will be altered with wokeness for the modern audience a.k.a. weak minded droness that are easily manipulated emotionally a.k.a children in grown up bodies.
6) Do not trade games in the store, only with friends, coworkers etc.
7) Do not buy live service games (Helldivers 2 was an exception for me), I'm 99% a single player person.
Do not blame any developer/publisher/politician-governement), just go in front of the mirror for the source of the poison or the remedy. Anyone that takes advantage of your money is smart, and that makes you stupid. Everything is energy, they provide the games for money in exchange. If you complain that you had a bad experience, then go in front of the mirror about your poor, unintelligent choice
8)Enjoy the experience of playing videogames but dont be attached to this activity. Life is beautiful, there are so many beautiful things besides standing in front of the screen.
9) When you purchase new games at Eb games or anywhere else, the case must be wrapped in the plastic. Even if the worker tells you that has no scratches, is like new or whatever other bs reason tells you, you must demand it yo be wrapped. Do not argue/waste time. Unless it's a used game.
For as long as money is in your pocket, you have the power. If the situation requires it, leave the store, you do not have to buy the game, even if it is the last copy. Be a man of principles, do not let corporations and their schemes treating you like an idiot.
