The hangman is same guy reprising his role from Blazing Saddles.
both the priest and hangman are in pretty much every Mel Brooks film
Most references are from Kevin Costners Robin Hood Prince of thieves and Errol Flynns The adventures of Robin Hood.
16:50 This is an impression of Winston Churchill, prime minister of England, and his famous speech after the Battle of Dunkirk during WW2.
Ahchoo then made an impression of Malcom X.
The speech Dave Chappelle/Achoo gave is a spoof of a Malcolm X speech. Denzel Washington's performance as Malcolm X is phenomenal. If you haven't seen it, I hope you'll check it out.
Don’t miss any of Mel Brooks’ films. They all have their own unique take on whatever they spoof.
Patriot arrow refer to the Patriot missile air defence system.
Dom doing Corleone was perfect.
Young Frankenstein. Youll love it!
I'm a locksmith and I approve this message.

History of the World, Mel Brooks
Part 1
wish more people watched this film, 10/10
This movie is comedy gold.
I am glad to see a younger generation enjoy it.
Love anything that Mel Brooks ever did, but this one is great. thanks for watching.
YES! Young Frankenstein is a must watch!
Latrine just used a life saver mint to save the sheriff
In the Robin Hood story, he did kill a deer on the King's land while in his teens. A ranger fired an arrow at him and Robin returned the favor more accurately, killing the ranger. That killing of a ranger is why Robin was an outlaw. Robin's remorse over that action is why he risks his life msny times to avoid killing.
Interestingly, there is a real Sherwood Forest, and in years past it would have extended to be close by Nottingham. And there was a real town of Loxley, Robin's birthplace. Even in the legends, nobody knows where Robin was buried. As he was dying due to an angry act by Robin's own sister, he fired an arrow and instructed Little John to bury him wherever the arrow landed.
White Men Can't Jump was a movie reference.
Fun fact: The actor who played the archery contest announcer is named Clement Von Franckenstein. He also had a small (uncredited) role in Mel's Young Frankenstein
I felt like watching this because the actor that played Prince John just died a few days ago. RIP Richard Lewis
In the library of Congress play boy was the most requested magazine in brail, this was before this and Mel Brooks just put that in the movie a blind man with a brail playboy but it was a thing
Decided to subscribe.
You two have become one of my favourite reaction channels.
Keep up with the Mel Brooks movies!
We appreciate you!
8:06 "Wait. So that's the _key_ that he has, that his father left?"
😲Wow! Okay. Ryl, I am often impressed by how far in advance you see big reveals coming. When I first saw this movie, I had no idea about that until the scene in which Robin and the Sheriff of Rottingham duel and it ends up falling right into the lock. But you saw the scene that introduced the _key,_ the scene that introduced the chastity belt, and you connected them _instantly._ I am blown away.
💜💜
In my opinion, Mel Brooks' best movie was The Producers, but I completely understand why it's less commonly recommended than these 3 that you're watching.
Young Frankenstein is based off the origin Boris karloff verson of frankenstein but it's about Victor Frankenstein grandson and somewhat same story a lot of people it's at the top of Mel Brooks movies, there are 2 versions of the producers the original has gene wilder the updated verson was a broad way play
oh man im excited again. this is as silly as spaceballs lets goooo
that was fun guys virtual hug
Glad you enjoyed 🥰
The Hip-Hop chorus might seem overdone, but the original Robin Hood ballads were actually written to that rhythm, in a style that is reminiscent of Hip-Hop waaay back between 1200AD-1600AD.
I have not read them all but this is my favorite verse from any I have read, from *Robin Hood and the Peddlers:*
(Read it like it's old school)
*No sooner, in haste,*
*Did Robin Hood taste*
*The balsame he had taken,* (Ta'En)
*Than he 'gan to spew,*
*And up he threw*
*The balsame all again.*
*And Scarlet, and John,*
*Who were looking on*
*Their master as he did lie,*
*Had their faces besmeared,*
*Both eyes and beards,*
*Therewith most piteously.* (Piteous Lie)
That is: Robin drank medicine and immediately projectile-vomited in the faces of Will Scarlet and Little John.
*Hey, nani-nani and a ho-ho-ho!*
11:59 These staffs are the _most_ curious things. They manage to keep breaking at the exact same moment.
15:52 _Yeah!_ Let 'em _have_ it, Blinkin!
34:20 "Or maybe the lock is just too _old,_ now, and... all rusty."
Let's not forget the damage done earlier by that _jack_ hammer. That probably screwed it up, too.
I haven't watched this in so many years. It was fun to rewatch it again with the 2 of you! 😂
This is so fun. I'm glad you two are reacted to it.
9:42 in the german dub he said "like a sushi evening at freddie krueger's place" ;D
This is basically a spoof of robin hood prince of thieves. Which incidentally, they originally wanted Carrie elwis to play as Robin hood, but he chose to do the princess bride instead. The part where he says , unlike other robin hoods , I can speak with the english accent was a roast towards kevin costner.
Yelp should react to that movie to better understand this movie.
Virtual hug ladies!
VH ladies. Can't wait for the next ones.
❤️❤️
The best 🤘🤘
The "Men in tights" is a joke about Kevin Costner refusing to wear thighs in the 1991 movie Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves 😁
Really? I never knew that just thought it was hilarious
"Young Frankenstein" is my personal favorite Mel Brooks film.* Many people have recommended it.
BUT!!!!! I highly recommend that you watch "Frankenstein" (1931) and "Bride of Frankenstein" (1935) first! They're only 2.5 hours, back to back.
(You could also watch "Son of Frankenstein" (1939) to get an even fuller appreciation- there are several direct references to this also- but honestly, it's not quite as good as the first two, which are bona fide classics!)
On the other hand, most of your Mel Brooks reactions so far have been without seeing the source material, so maybe that is a pattern you want to continue. If so, then enjoy "Young Frankenstein" on its own merits!
And THEN watch "Star Wars ep. 4, 5, 6", and "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves," and "Frankenstein / Bride of Frankenstein" to catch up on all the stuff that Mel Brooks was parodying, and see where all the jokes and references came from. :)
* "Blazing Saddles" is my second-favorite. Most of his others are more or less tied for third.
Virtual hug!
❤️❤️
Banger movie pick. 👌
Virtual hug
Ohh shizz you got the headphones 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Long distance virtual hug from Germany
You are so kind ❤️❤️
9:15 "Ooh. Latrine is a _witch?"_
Oh. The two of you have not seen _Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves,_ yet. It came out two years _before_ this movie. It has Kevin Costner, Morgan Freeman and Christian Slater. This is a good movie entirely on its _own,_ but it doesn't just lampoon the legend of Robin Hood in _general._ It lampoons _that_ interpretation in _particular._
14:29 "And why should the people listen to _you?"_
"Unlike some _other_ Robin Hoods, _I_ can speak with an English accent."
That was a dig at Costner who played probably the _most_ American Robin Hood in cinematic history.
Virtual Hug ❤
Another great Mel Brooks movie I think you will enjoy is Dracula, Dead and Loving it. It's one of my favorites.
Great reaction as always you two ❤️
❤️❤️
classic
My favorite part in this movie is
"I heard that coming a mile away :) Right-o, Blinkin, very good. Pardon? Who's talking?".
You should have watch Robin Hood Prince of Thief's with Kevin Costner before watching movie because this movie spoof that movie.
You should also watch other Mel Brooks movies are High Anxiety (Hitchcock classic horror movies spoof) and History Of The World (Which has the phrase "It is good to be the king")
7:32 Mel Brooks likes to break the fourth wall, even when it's made of glass.
The best parts of this for me are Dave Chappelle and A-Choo and Tracey Ullman as Latrine, the witch. Tracey has had several shows in the US going back to the 80s, including The Tracey Ullman Show, where she did sketch comedy, most notably played the teenage Francesca, the girl with 2 dads and Tracey Takes On, a more adult sketch comedy show. Both are worth checking out. She plays a very convincing teenager.
Her show was also where the Simpsons got their start
Young Frankenstein Please❤❤
watching comedies with you girls is enjoyable
You should've watched Kevin Costner's Robin Hood Prince of Thieves first! It would make more sense :)
Virtual hug!🤗 Byeee!
🥰🤗
24:50 Chappelle in dress
*Ahchoo:* "Hey, Blinken.."
*Blinken:* "Did you say Abe Lincoln?"
*Ahchoo [looking at him with that confused look on his face]:* "No, I didn't say 'Abe Lincoln', I SAID, HEY BLINKEN!"🤣🤣☠☠
I don't know why but every time I watch this movie (And I've watched it a hundred times), I burst out laughing at that random part EVERY SINGLE TIME, lmao..😂😂☠☠ I crack up at the "Put 'er there!" attempted handshake between the two of them as well, when Blinken goes way too low & grabs Ahchoo's d*** by mistake..🤣🤣🤣
As you can tell, I love this stupid movie, lmao. Great choice & great reaction, Ladies..🙃❤
Since you guys have now seen a lot of Mel Brooks' work & have slowly started getting some parody movies under your belts, like 'Airplane!', 'The Naked Gun', 'Spaceballs' & now 'Robin Hood: MIT', & seeing you have also seen a lot of John Hughes films on here already (Ferris Bueller & Breakfast Club for example) & a lot of action films they cover, might I suggest a few really funny parody films for you guys to check out in the future? 'Hot Shots!' & Hot Shots! Part Deux' are two really funny ones to watch, as is 'National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon 1', 'Not Another Teen Movie' & 'Wrongfully Accused'.. I think you guys would get a lot of laughs out of any of those, they are all really funny. And you should finish checking out the final two 'Naked Gun' films btw, bc the last two are better than the first one in my honest opinion.. Keep killing it, ladies. Love your reactions..❤
One of the best movies ever made! Cary Elwes rules... Now you've seen him in this, Princess Bride and Hot Shots...
Dave Chappelle awesome side-kick... fuck it everyone is awesome in this movie!
You gotta see Cary Elwes in the Crush.
Virtual Hug!!! Yes, Young Frankenstein is the movie Mel Brooks considers to be his best work. He considers Blazing Saddles to be his funniest.
Awesome ❤️
@@JynxRyl you might want to watch the original Frankenstein first to get context. It’s an old black and white film. Young Frankenstein was shot on the same set and was shot in black and white as well.
It's called a Chastity Belt.
They were meant to insure virginity.
14:13 wonder how many takes it took him to say the words out of order like that. You’d have to get your brain to understand that it’s ok to say it that way. 16:54 Winston Churchill impersonation and a Malcolm X impersonation.
You really need to watch Errol Flynn to watch this,1939 robin hood
Russell Crowe recently did a Robin hood remake that's a good one. There's soooo many Robin hood remakes
recently??? HAHAHA it was 14 years ago
Ok, now when do I get my virtual hug ?? 😁
🥰🤗 we appreciate you
No one ha reacted to The Horse Whisperer!!!!!!!!
Enjoyed this, thanks! I'd like to recommend the movie "Your Highness"
That's noose to me, lol!
Little john played Thor in a marvel tv movie called the return of the hulk it's mid 80s
He's also the dad on Disney's Good Luck Charlie
🤗
Behind the scenes of Robin Hood Men in Tights ua-cam.com/video/u1HjAqC1ByI/v-deo.html
Mel Brooks also made a Robin Hood tv show called When Things Were Rotten. Some of my other favorite movies are Young Frankenstein, Silent Movie, High Anxiety, and History of the World Part 1.
Tite Tights
Mano a mano is not man to man. It is hand to hand.
Man to man is hermano a hermano
I feel bad for the actress who plays Broomhilde. She seems to always play the "ugly" girl, like Marla in League of Their Own.
But Marla had a great storyline.
Will scarlet played robin Hood in a tv show after this
Matthew Poretta
Same mistake as in your Spaceballs reaction: You are watching the spoof without knowing the sources this is making fun about.
ryl looked so bored 😂
